stay_n of_o life_n so_o that_o worthy_o they_o be_v deprive_v of_o the_o reward_n as_o the_o hypocrite_n do_v e._n a_o hypocrite_n be_v as_o much_o to_o say_v as_o a_o fain_o or_o dissembler_n his_o disciple_n even_o as_o we_o at_o this_o day_n judge_v holiness_n by_o external_a thing_n &_o be_v deceive_v by_o hypocrisy_n b._n he_o say_v therefore_o bless_v be_v he_o that_o be_v not_o offend_v at_o i_o that_o be_v which_o by_o no_o mean_n can_v be_v discourage_v and_o drive_v from_o i_o that_o he_o may_v believe_v i_o to_o be_v the_o saviour_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n and_o commit_v himself_o unto_o i_o 7_o and_o as_o they_o depart_v jesus_n begin_v to_o say_v unto_o the_o people_n concern_v john_n what_o go_v you_o out_o into_o the_o wilderness_n to_o see_v a_o reed_n that_o be_v shake_v with_o the_o wound_n and_o as_o they_o bu._n now_o the_o lord_n set_v forth_o at_o large_a the_o praise_n &_o virtue_n of_o john_n the_o baptist_n neither_o do_v christ_n without_o cause_n set_v forth_o the_o praise_n of_o john_n when_o the_o disciple_n be_v go_v 7._o as_o luke_n plain_o declare_v for_o by_o this_o he_o teach_v we_o to_o avoid_v all_o suspicion_n of_o profit_n of_o this_o commendation_n of_o john_n be_v manifold_a &_o may_v be_v take_v many_o way_n m._n first_o because_o the_o people_n which_o stand_v by_o &_o hear_v this_o message_n of_o the_o disciple_n of_o john_n may_v be_v confirm_v in_o some_o wrong_a opinion_n &_o contempt_n of_o john_n because_o of_o his_o imprisonment_n c._n furthermore_o christ_n commend_v john_n to_o the_o people_n to_o the_o end_n they_o may_v call_v to_o mind_n that_o which_o they_o herd_n of_o he_o &_o may_v credit_v his_o testimony_n for_o his_o name_n be_v famous_a among_o the_o people_n and_o they_o speak_v very_o reverent_o of_o he_o but_o his_o doctrine_n be_v of_o less_o estimation_n yea_o few_o there_o be_v which_o give_v any_o regard_n to_o his_o ministry_n also_o christ_n show_v that_o they_o lose_v their_o labour_n which_o go_v into_o the_o desert_n to_o see_v john_n except_o they_o do_v reverent_o apply_v their_o mind_n &_o diligence_n to_o his_o doctrine_n and_o so_o the_o sense_n
be_v deprive_v of_o the_o external_a sign_n and_o it_o be_v wicked_a and_o impudent_a boldness_n to_o drive_v those_o from_o the_o shéepefoulde_n of_o christ_n who_o he_o voutchsafe_v to_o embrace_v in_o his_o arm_n &_o bosom_n and_o to_o shut_v those_o as_o foreigner_n out_o of_o the_o gate_n who_o he_o make_v of_o the_o household_n for_o of_o such_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n â—â—mplicity_n m._n he_o say_v of_o such_o not_o of_o these_o because_o he_o comprehend_v all_o sort_n of_o little_a child_n for_o mark_n and_o luke_n add_v very_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o whosoever_o receive_v not_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n as_o a_o little_a child_n he_o shall_v not_o enter_v therein_o of_o the_o like_a matter_n read_v the_o eighteen_o chapter_n go_v before_o c._n by_o these_o word_n therefore_o christ_n affirm_v that_o these_o little_a child_n and_o such_o like_v pertain_v unto_o he_o m._n by_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n in_o this_o place_n be_v understand_v that_o bring_v unto_o he_o pertain_v to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n but_o also_o that_o it_o do_v so_o pertain_v that_o whosoever_o be_v not_o like_a unto_o they_o pertain_v not_o to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n c._n and_o here_o let_v we_o note_v the_o admonition_n of_o s._n paul_n when_o he_o say_v let_v we_o not_o be_v child_n in_o understanding_n 14._o but_o in_o malice_n 15._o and_o when_o they_o have_v but_o a_o outward_a show_n of_o godliness_n they_o have_v not_o a_o sweet_a taste_n of_o the_o gospel_n good_a master_n what_o good_a thing_n a._n by_o this_o begin_v he_o declare_v that_o he_o will_v willing_o embrace_v the_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n c._n to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v the_o better_a judge_n of_o the_o state_n of_o the_o answer_n let_v we_o note_v the_o form_n and_o manner_n of_o the_o question_n he_o do_v not_o ask_v how_o and_o by_o what_o way_n he_o may_v come_v unto_o life_n but_o what_o good_a thing_n he_o may_v do_v to_o attain_v the_o same_o he_o much_o in_o effect_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v if_o thou_o know_v nothing_o to_o be_v in_o i_o more_o than_o in_o a_o man_n thou_o do_v false_o attribute_v unto_o i_o that_o little_a of_o good_a which_o belong_v unto_o god_n only_o but_o these_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n be_v more_o simple_o to_o be_v understand_v we_o grant_v true_o that_o man_n can_v proper_o be_v say_v to_o be_v good_a good_a they_o deserve_v not_o a_o title_n of_o such_o honour_n no_o not_o the_o angel_n which_o have_v no_o spark_n of_o goodness_n of_o then selue_o but_o do_v borrow_v of_o god_n also_o because_o the_o goodness_n which_o be_v in_o they_o be_v imperfect_a but_o the_o purpose_n of_o christ_n be_v nothing_o else_o than_o to_o maintain_v the_o faith_n and_o truth_n of_o his_o doctrine_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v thou_o do_v false_o call_v i_o good_a master_n except_o thou_o do_v acknowledge_v i_o to_o be_v come_v from_o god_n christ_n therefore_o do_v not_o here_o reason_n as_o concern_v the_o essence_n of_o his_o duty_n but_o seek_v to_o bring_v the_o young_a man_n to_o the_o faith_n of_o his_o doctrine_n he_o be_v already_o endue_v with_o some_o affection_n of_o obedience_n but_o christ_n will_v have_v he_o ascend_v a_o little_o high_a that_o he_o may_v be_v persuade_v that_o he_o do_v talk_v with_o god_n himself_o for_o it_o be_v the_o common_a manner_n of_o man_n to_o make_v devil_n angel_n and_o to_o call_v those_o good_a teacher_n in_o who_o they_o know_v nothing_o that_o be_v divine_a but_o these_o be_v profanation_n of_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n it_o be_v no_o marvel_v therefore_o if_o christ_n to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v get_v authority_n to_o his_o word_n call_v the_o young_a man_n to_o the_o remembrance_n of_o god._n there_o be_v none_o good_a but_o one_o m._n hereby_o we_o learn_v that_o what_o good_a thing_n soever_o be_v find_v in_o man_n goodness_n it_o come_v from_o god_n as_o from_o the_o well_o of_o all_o goodness_n wherefore_o if_o thou_o require_v any_o good_a thing_n of_o a_o man_n first_o pray_v unto_o god_n that_o he_o will_v geve_v the_o unto_o the_o man_n which_o can_v otherwise_o be_v find_v in_o mortal_a man_n and_o then_o if_o thou_o have_v receive_v any_o good_a thing_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o a_o man_n or_o by_o a_o man_n persuade_v thyself_o that_o thou_o have_v receive_v the_o same_o of_o god_n it_o appear_v also_o how_o great_a the_o ingratitude_n &_o unthankfulness_n of_o mortal_a man_n be_v in_o that_o they_o have_v less_o trust_n in_o none_o than_o in_o god_n
