it_o but_o neither_o see_v nor_o hear_v of_o any_o that_o have_v give_v forth_o any_o sermon_n or_o lecture_n upon_o the_o article_n of_o our_o christian_a faith_n a_o thing_n as_o necessary_a as_o the_o other_o i_o be_v the_o more_o embolden_v to_o set_v this_o treatise_n forth_o that_o the_o simple_a and_o ignorant_a which_o can_v but_o only_o read_v and_o have_v this_o benefit_n to_o profit_v themselves_o withal_o may_v have_v the_o true_a and_o plain_a meaning_n of_o every_o article_n of_o their_o faith_n as_o they_o have_v the_o exposition_n of_o the_o lord_n prayer_n and_o ten_o commandment_n for_o if_o this_o creed_n common_o call_v the_o creed_n of_o the_o apostle_n shall_v only_o be_v say_v without_o book_n and_o rehearse_v of_o the_o people_n without_o the_o meaning_n my_o first_o fruit_n unto_o your_o honour_n be_v that_o partly_o you_o have_v hear_v they_o read_v unto_o you_o &_o your_o honour_n accept_v of_o they_o as_o favour_v the_o truth_n shall_v encourage_v other_o to_o do_v the_o like_a and_o read_v they_o more_o diligent_o i_o have_v not_o labour_v to_o be_v curious_a in_o this_o matter_n but_o so_o plain_a as_o the_o weak_a of_o capacity_n may_v easy_o understande_v for_o who_o sake_n and_o not_o for_o the_o learned_a i_o be_v willing_a to_o publish_v this_o work_n according_a to_o that_o talon_n that_o the_o lord_n in_o mercy_n have_v commit_v unto_o i_o his_o servant_n for_o the_o build_n up_o of_o his_o spiritual_a temple_n i_o doubt_v not_o but_o by_o the_o work_n of_o god_n holy_a spirit_n in_o you_o in_o read_v of_o these_o article_n now_o and_o then_o your_o honour_n be_v void_a of_o weighty_a matter_n and_o affair_n when_o leisure_n shall_v serve_v you_o shall_v find_v some_o comfort_n and_o consolation_n in_o they_o although_o they_o be_v plain_a yet_o be_v they_o true_a &_o need_v no_o eloquence_n to_o set_v they_o forth_o for_o truth_n seek_v no_o corner_n to_o hide_v herself_o in_o only_o her_o fear_n be_v least_o she_o shall_v be_v hide_v i_o grant_v it_o may_v seem_v a_o needless_a and_o fruitless_a thing_n to_o write_v book_n and_o publish_v they_o in_o these_o day_n wherein_o be_v such_o store_n that_o now_o book_n lack_v reader_n rather_o than_o reader_n want_v book_n but_o if_o a_o man_n consider_v well_o with_o himself_o he_o shall_v find_v that_o a_o great_a many_o of_o they_o tend_v not_o so_o much_o to_o set_v forth_o godliness_n as_o wantonness_n neither_o do_v they_o profit_v the_o church_n and_o common_a wealth_n but_o rather_o hurt_v and_o hinder_v it_o as_o much_o as_o in_o they_o lie_v so_o that_o it_o have_v be_v better_a that_o a_o great_a many_o of_o they_o have_v be_v suppress_v and_o never_o be_v write_v they_o hurt_v many_o for_o they_o lead_v young_a man_n unless_o god_n spirit_n guide_v they_o the_o better_a to_o utter_v destruction_n these_o be_v not_o the_o book_n that_o teach_v young_a man_n which_o be_v by_o nature_n wanton_a and_o wild_a and_o give_v to_o lust_n to_o refrain_v from_o liberty_n of_o the_o flesh_n but_o rather_o give_v they_o the_o bridle_n to_o these_o wanton_a lust_n and_o appetite_n and_o pity_v it_o be_v they_o shall_v be_v suffer_v in_o a_o christian_a common_a wealth_n these_o idle_a book_n teach_v not_o a_o man_n to_o amend_v and_o correct_v his_o way_n but_o utter_o to_o pervert_v they_o a_o young_a man_n therefore_o shall_v cleanse_v his_o way_n not_o by_o these_o mean_n but_o by_o rule_v himself_o according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o the_o prophet_n david_n have_v forewarn_v psal_n 119._o so_o then_o although_o the_o store_n of_o book_n in_o our_o day_n be_v great_a yet_o the_o number_n of_o they_o that_o increase_v true_a godliness_n be_v not_o so_o great_a but_o that_o it_o may_v be_v augment_v and_o albeit_o some_o one_o book_n please_v not_o every_o man_n yet_o another_o may_v see_v there_o be_v diverse_a and_o diverse_a gift_n give_v to_o edify_v that_o all_o man_n may_v be_v without_o excuse_n before_o the_o lord_n if_o any_o find_v fault_n and_o say_v this_o writer_n be_v too_o hard_a and_o high_a for_o my_o capacity_n he_o may_v have_v a_o easy_a if_o this_o man_n be_v too_o eloquent_a and_o fine_a he_o may_v have_v another_o that_o be_v more_o simple_a and_o plain_a for_o god_n be_v thank_v there_o be_v great_a variety_n of_o gift_n in_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n and_o as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o body_n natural_a of_o man_n that_o all_o member_n be_v not_o alike_o nor_o have_v the_o same_o function_n yet_o all_o be_v necessary_a and_o although_o the_o foot_n be_v not_o so_o excellent_a a_o member_n as_o the_o hand_n or_o the_o eye_n yet_o for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o body_n it_o be_v as_o necessary_a &_o profitable_a neither_o can_v the_o head_n say_v to_o the_o foot_n i_o have_v no_o need_n of_o thou_o but_o one_o have_v need_n of_o the_o help_n of_o another_o for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o the_o whole_a so_o it_o be_v in_o the_o mystical_a body_n of_o the_o church_n some_o have_v more_o excellent_a gift_n than_o other_o and_o some_o may_v be_v liken_v to_o the_o head_n some_o to_o the_o eye_n and_o some_o to_o the_o hand_n other_o of_o inferior_a gift_n to_o the_o foot_n and_o to_o the_o leg_n which_o yet_o sure_o can_v not_o be_v despise_v or_o light_o set_v by_o consider_v the_o body_n can_v not_o want_v they_o neither_o be_v this_o only_a to_o be_v see_v in_o the_o mystical_a body_n of_o the_o church_n wherein_o some_o be_v pastor_n some_o doctor_n some_o deacon_n and_o some_o have_v the_o gift_n of_o eloquence_n some_o of_o knowledge_n some_o of_o utterance_n &_o some_o of_o tongue_n but_o this_o may_v be_v perceive_v in_o the_o body_n of_o the_o common_a wealth_n wherein_o some_o be_v king_n and_o ruler_n appoint_v of_o god_n to_o be_v head_n over_o other_o and_o some_o be_v craftesman_n and_o artificer_n some_o husbandman_n and_o plowman_n far_o inferior_a to_o the_o other_o and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o as_o necessary_a be_v the_o poor_a labour_a man_n for_o the_o civil_a body_n as_o be_v the_o magistrate_n and_o superior_a for_o if_o all_o shall_v rule_v who_o shall_v obey_v if_o all_o again_o shall_v obey_v who_o shall_v rule_v or_o govern_v but_o now_o the_o lord_n have_v so_o temper_v and_o dispose_v these_o thing_n in_o his_o infinite_a wisdom_n that_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o disorder_n and_o that_o every_o one_o shall_v be_v indet_v and_o bind_v to_o another_o that_o so_o love_n and_o unity_n may_v be_v keep_v and_o maynteyn_v in_o al._n for_o no_o one_o man_n have_v all_o gift_n give_v unto_o he_o that_o he_o may_v stand_v in_o need_n of_o his_o neighbour_n and_o love_v he_o the_o better_a have_v that_o gift_n which_o he_o see_v himself_o to_o be_v destitute_a of_o thus_o be_v willing_a
be_v neither_o hell_n nor_o heaven_n god_n nor_o devil_n and_o that_o all_o be_v but_o fable_n that_o we_o speak_v of_o this_o day_n and_o so_o they_o grow_v to_o a_o utter_a contempt_n of_o god_n and_o all_o godliness_n but_o as_o the_o lord_n live_v they_o shall_v find_v it_o true_a by_o experience_n which_o they_o will_v not_o here_o embrace_v by_o faith_n yea_o they_o shall_v confess_v themselves_o stark_a fool_n and_o the_o godly_a man_n to_o be_v wise_a in_o deed_n wisdom_n 5._o christ_n jesus_n shall_v be_v that_o great_a lord_n and_o scotfree_a master_n of_o the_o house_n which_o shall_v come_v to_o take_v a_o account_n of_o his_o servant_n talente_v give_v unto_o they_o to_o increase_v and_o use_v to_o his_o honour_n and_o glory_n and_o to_o the_o good_a and_o diligent_a servant_n shall_v he_o give_v reward_n and_o joy_n but_o to_o the_o unprofitable_a servant_n stripe_n and_o pain_n eternal_a this_o shall_v be_v the_o new_a marry_a bridegroom_n and_o for_o fear_n for_o they_o shall_v have_v their_o part_n in_o the_o lake_n that_o burn_v with_o fire_n and_o brimstone_n which_o be_v the_o second_o death_n revelation_n 21._o this_o day_n and_o the_o be_v raven_a wolf_n for_o this_o cause_n shall_v the_o judgement_n be_v according_a to_o work_n to_o stir_v man_n up_o here_o while_o they_o hear_v this_o to_o good_a work_n and_o to_o make_v manifest_a to_o all_o man_n that_o the_o godly_a have_v walk_v innocent_o and_o that_o the_o wicked_a have_v follow_v the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n our_o faith_n can_v not_o be_v see_v and_o therefore_o christ_n shall_v speak_v according_a to_o the_o effect_n and_o consequent_a of_o it_o which_o be_v see_v and_o that_o be_v good_a work_v christ_n before_o show_v the_o cause_n
to_o perform_v all_o the_o duty_n of_o a_o faithful_a minister_n of_o jesus_n christ_n unto_o your_o honour_n i_o leave_v to_o trouble_v you_o any_o furthet_n from_o other_o affair_n of_o your_o of_o they_o with_o the_o learned_a and_o not_o to_o amend_v their_o life_n be_v detect_v by_o they_o but_o only_o to_o know_v they_o and_o let_v the_o practice_n go_v but_o these_o man_n so_o do_v can_v not_o be_v bless_v luke_n 11._o cap._n wherefore_o dear_o belove_a christian_n i_o exhort_v thou_o to_o read_v the_o scripture_n and_o all_o other_o book_n that_o tend_v to_o the_o declaration_n
