heart_n rom._n 2.14_o 15._o so_o that_o the_o scripture_n can_v not_o be_v their_o rule_n who_o have_v it_o not_o but_o the_o law_n and_o light_n of_o god_n and_o his_o christ_n in_o their_o heart_n and_o the_o law_n and_o the_o testimony_n within_o contain_v the_o substance_n and_o truth_n of_o what_o be_v write_v in_o scripture_n and_o will_v the_o more_o clear_o and_o live_o appear_v and_o be_v read_v in_o the_o heart_n as_o the_o veil_n of_o darkness_n sin_n and_o corruption_n in_o man_n be_v remove_v and_o take_v away_o in_o his_o conversion_n and_o come_n into_o the_o new_a covenant_n dispensation_n on_o the_o word_n to_o the_o law_n and_o to_o the_o testimony_n i_o will_v query_n if_o this_o testimony_n can_v be_v the_o book_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n which_o this_o prophet_n isaiah_n refer_v they_o then_o to_o no_o sure_o how_o can_v they_o when_o those_o book_n be_v not_o then_o write_v yet_o whoever_o obey_v and_o follow_v the_o law_n and_o testimony_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o christ_n jesus_n within_o such_o can_v oppose_v slight_a nor_o invalidate_v any_o thing_n of_o holy_a scripture_n but_o have_v real_a union_n therewith_o and_o be_v in_o the_o life_n practice_n and_o fulfil_v thereof_o pr._n ibid._n the_o spirit_n that_o do_v infatuate_a the_o quaker_n be_v the_o foolish_a guide_n who_o this_o quake_a father_n will_v have_v his_o child_n to_o follow_v answ_n what_o blasphemous_a folly_n be_v this_o against_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n which_o the_o quaker_n will_v have_v the_o child_n yea_o and_o all_o man_n to_o follow_v which_o it_o be_v horrid_a blasphemy_n to_o charge_n with_o be_v a_o infatuate_n or_o foolish_a guide_n whereby_o he_o have_v also_o abuse_v and_o slight_v christ_n testimony_n and_o the_o scripture_n which_o testify_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n to_o guide_v into_o all_o truth_n pr._n ibid._n this_o quaker_n faith_n to_o undermine_v the_o scripture_n to_o render_v they_o good_a for_o nothing_o for_o say_v he_o the_o spirit_n alone_o be_v to_o be_v mind_v in_o all_o thing_n therefore_o the_o scripture_n to_o be_v mind_v in_o nothing_o answ_n he_o have_v herein_o abominable_o belie_v the_o quaker_n and_o pervert_v his_o word_n though_o he_o himself_o have_v cite_v but_o a_o few_o line_n before_o in_o the_o same_o page_n 36._o viz._n the_o scripture_n be_v a_o true_a testimony_n of_o what_o the_o saint_n be_v make_v witness_n of_o this_o be_v no_o undermine_v nor_o render_v they_o good_a for_o nothing_o again_o from_o mind_v the_o spirit_n alone_o in_o all_o warrantable_o use_v the_o common_a prayer-book_n either_o in_o the_o king_n chapel_n or_o elsewhere_o to_o speak_v this_o quaker_n mind_n or_o sense_n they_o be_v a_o company_n of_o dull_a as_o they_o have_v make_v prayer_n by_o other_o in_o a_o book_n to_o read_v and_o such_o it_o seem_v he_o render_v those_o priest_n in_o the_o king_n chapel_n and_o elsewhere_o so_o dull_a as_o that_o they_o can_v pray_v without_o book_n for_o he_o have_v make_v the_o application_n with_o such_o a_o reflection_n as_o for_o our_o meeting_n which_o he_o scornful_o term_n dumb_a we_o therein_o wait_v upon_o god_n in_o his_o holy_a fear_n and_o have_v regard_n to_o the_o motion_n of_o his_o good_a spirit_n in_o his_o worship_n and_o service_n both_o in_o our_o inward_a attention_n meditation_n soul_n breathe_n unto_o god_n preach_v pray_v to_o and_o praise_v our_o god_n who_o be_v a_o spirit_n and_o to_o be_v worship_v in_o spirit_n &_o truth_n i_o take_v his_o tell_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o hat_n also_o to_o be_v in_o scorn_n and_o contempt_n &_o nothing_o at_o all_o of_o any_o serious_a sense_n or_o argument_n in_o it_o he_o shall_v have_v explain_v himself_o therein_o pr._n
