we_o to_o know_v that_o it_o neither_o be_v nor_o be_v the_o law_n of_o god_n the_o three_o offence_n happen_v upon_o occasion_n of_o a_o very_a scandalous_a and_o villainous_a act_n and_o great_a oversight_n which_o muhame_v commit_v viz._n when_o he_o say_v matin_n with_o the_o moor_n which_o prayer_n be_v call_v in_o arabic_a zalatacobbe_n and_o be_v read_v a_o chapter_n of_o the_o alcoran_n be_v the_o 15_o chapter_n of_o the_o four_o book_n which_o be_v call_v the_o chapter_n of_o the_o star_n in_o which_o chapter_n he_o mention_n the_o say_a idol_n call_v alethe_v aluze_v and_o another_o idol_n call_v menete_n azalicite_v and_o after_o name_v they_o say_z that_o they_o be_v idol_n and_o wicked_a devil_n for_o muhamed_a read_v the_o say_a chapter_n and_o name_v these_o two_o idol_n in_o stead_n of_o say_v that_o they_o be_v most_o abominable_a and_o wicked_a devil_n say_v that_o they_o be_v most_o high_a god_n and_o that_o it_o be_v good_a to_o hope_v in_o they_o and_o muhamed_a not_o only_o commit_v a_o error_n in_o read_v and_o say_v these_o word_n but_o also_o prostrate_v himself_o on_o the_o ground_n and_o divers_a moor_n with_o he_o but_o some_o of_o the_o moor_n do_v not_o prostrate_v themselves_o but_o tell_v mahume_v that_o he_o have_v commit_v a_o error_n in_o read_v so_o and_o prostrate_v himself_o and_o when_o muhamed_a perceive_v his_o error_n he_o answer_v they_o say_v that_o the_o devil_n make_v he_o mistake_v and_o have_v take_v away_o the_o good_a word_n of_o the_o alcoran_n and_o insert_v the_o word_n which_o he_o have_v speak_v and_o that_o through_o the_o deceit_n of_o the_o devil_n he_o have_v err_v in_o read_v so_o and_o in_o prostrate_v himself_o the_o which_o divers_a of_o the_o moor_n take_v notice_n of_o and_o be_v offend_v with_o it_o turn_v to_o their_o former_a sect_n and_o way_n of_o worship_n thus_o muhamed_a be_v not_o free_a from_o temptation_n though_o he_o give_v out_o that_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n take_v the_o black_a coat_n out_o of_o his_o heart_n wherefore_o o_o moor_n you_o must_v acknowledge_v that_o that_o be_v not_o true_a which_o muhamed_a say_v in_o the_o first_o chapter_n that_o the_o angel_n lance_v his_o breast_n and_o take_v forth_o his_o heart_n and_o cut_v out_o the_o black_a coat_n or_o filthy_a matter_n to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o may_v not_o be_v tempt_v of_o the_o devil_n at_o any_o time_n for_o if_o that_o have_v be_v true_a the_o devil_n have_v not_o now_o tempt_v he_o nor_o have_v make_v he_o say_v what_o he_o do_v nor_o have_v he_o magnify_v the_o idol_n and_o prostrate_v himself_o to_o the_o ground_n to_o worship_v they_o whereof_o divers_a take_v notice_n as_o we_o say_v before_o and_o when_o muhamed_a know_v that_o the_o people_n be_v offend_v and_o that_o all_o the_o people_n of_o mecca_n and_o the_o moor_n and_o jew_n murmur_v against_o he_o and_o his_o moor_n he_o institute_v a_o verse_n which_o be_v write_v in_o the_o four_o chapter_n of_o the_o three_o book_n which_o be_v in_o arabic_a thus_o guame_fw-mi alcerne_v etc._n etc._n that_o god_n never_o send_v any_o prophet_n which_o be_v not_o tempt_v and_o when_o he_o read_v the_o word_n of_o god_n the_o devil_n will_v be_v busy_a and_o put_v some_o other_o word_n among_o they_o nevertheless_o say_v he_o god_n command_v to_o take_v away_o the_o evil_a and_o confirm_v the_o good_a and_o by_o this_o verse_n muhomed_n inform_v the_o moor_n that_o that_o have_v befall_v he_o from_o the_o devil_n even_o as_o the_o like_a have_v befall_v other_o prophet_n and_o that_o god_n command_v that_o the_o evil_a word_n shall_v be_v raze_v out_o of_o that_o chapter_n and_o good_a word_n shall_v be_v put_v in_o and_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o marvel_n at_o this_o much_o less_o be_v offend_v at_o it_o and_o so_o upon_o this_o verse_n the_o offence_n cease_v and_o the_o moor_n be_v silent_a this_o thing_n and_o offence_n be_v know_v but_o to_o few_o of_o the_o alfaquie_n and_o doctor_n of_o their_o law_n and_o i_o tell_v it_o thou_o o_o moor_n that_o thou_o may_v know_v it_o if_o thou_o desire_v the_o salvation_n of_o thy_o soul_n and_o that_o thou_o may_v acknowledge_v the_o truth_n and_o follow_v it_o there_o be_v another_o thing_n also_o at_o which_o the_o moor_n be_v offend_v viz._n when_o muhamed_a take_v away_o his_o servant_n zeidin_n wife_n whereof_o we_o make_v mention_v above_o which_o act_n be_v very_o dishonest_a villainous_a and_o scandalous_a especial_o in_o such_o a_o one_o as_o muhamed_a who_o think_v himself_o a_o prophet_n and_o the_o most_o perfect_a messenger_n that_o ever_o come_v into_o the_o world_n muhamed_a have_v at_o that_o time_n nine_o wife_n and_o his_o servant_n only_a one_o the_o which_o muhamed_a take_v from_o he_o and_o add_v to_o his_o other_o nine_o and_o so_o his_o servant_n zeiden_n remain_v wifeless_a and_o this_o act_n happen_v in_o this_o manner_n muhamed_a know_v that_o his_o servant_n zeiden_n have_v a_o fair_a wife_n and_o she_o be_v muhamed_n kinswoman_n one_o day_n muhamed_a go_v to_o zeidens_n house_n to_o visit_v she_o and_o have_v see_v she_o tell_v she_o that_o when_o her_o husband_n zeiden_n come_v home_o she_o shall_v tell_v he_o that_o the_o prophet_n muhamed_a have_v be_v there_o and_o have_v see_v a_o good_a table_n good_a a_o lobster_n or_o crab_n it_o be_v a_o arabic_a proverb_n as_o we_o say_v he_o find_v a_o dainty_a dish_n for_o his_o own_o table_n crab_n for_o his_o door_n these_o very_a word_n be_v write_v in_o arabic_a in_o the_o book_n azar_n and_o do_v import_v that_o zeiden_n have_v choose_v a_o good_a and_o fair_a wife_n for_o he_o when_o zeiden_n come_v home_o his_o wife_n relate_v unto_o he_o how_o muhamed_a have_v be_v there_o and_o have_v say_v these_o word_n unto_o she_o which_o she_o can_v not_o understand_v but_o zeiden_n present_o tell_v she_o the_o meaning_n of_o they_o say_v that_o she_o be_v the_o crab_n and_o the_o door_n be_v a_o house_n and_o signify_v the_o master_n of_o the_o house_n at_o last_o zeiden_n tell_v his_o wife_n that_o muhamed_a will_v have_v speak_v with_o he_o for_o no_o end_n but_o to_o command_v he_o to_o put_v away_o his_o wife_n that_o he_o may_v have_v she_o now_o tell_v i_o o_o moor_n what_o mean_v muhame_v by_o those_o word_n and_o whether_o be_v they_o the_o word_n of_o a_o prophet_n and_o holy_a man_n and_o what_o be_v his_o intent_n and_o what_o opinion_n have_v zeiden_n of_o muhamed_a when_o he_o present_o conjecture_v and_o tell_v his_o wife_n what_o muhamed_a will_v do_v and_o when_o zeiden_n go_v to_o mahumed_n house_n and_o ask_v what_o his_o pleasure_n be_v mahume_v answer_v he_o that_o he_o must_v repudiate_v his_o wife_n because_o he_o will_v have_v she_o himself_o and_o hereupon_o zeiden_n go_v home_o and_o relate_v the_o whole_a matter_n to_o his_o wife_n and_o after_o many_o tear_n and_o lamentation_n on_o both_o side_n the_o marry_a couple_n part_v and_o the_o very_a same_o day_n muhamed_a marry_v she_o for_o which_o act_n the_o moor_n be_v offend_v and_o murmur_v say_v that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o act_n or_o deed_n of_o a_o prophet_n nor_o of_o a_o holy_a man_n and_o although_o thereupon_o muhamed_a be_v much_o ashamed_a yet_o he_o quick_o run_v to_o his_o remedy_n and_o make_v and_o compose_v certain_a verse_n of_o the_o alcoran_n and_o cause_v his_o secretary_n to_o write_v they_o and_o present_o give_v they_o unto_o the_o moor_n to_o read_v the_o which_o verse_n be_v in_o the_o 17_o chapter_n of_o the_o three_o book_n and_o run_v thus_o other_o fire_n other_o a_o idol_n call_v bohinun_n and_o other_o a_o tree_n call_v detulamar_n and_o they_o of_o mecca_n and_o the_o country_n adjacent_a worship_v a_o idol_n call_v alliethe_v and_o aluza_n abovementioned_a which_o be_v erect_v in_o the_o say_a tower_n alkibla_n towards_o which_o tower_n all_o moor_n turn_v their_o face_n when_o they_o make_v their_o zala_n i.e._n prayer_n and_o swear_v by_o it_o the_o say_a book_n azar_n further_a say_v that_o caydar_n the_o second_o son_n of_o ishmael_n erect_v the_o say_a idol_n in_o the_o say_a tower_n because_o abraham_n and_o ishmael_n have_v assist_v at_o the_o build_n of_o the_o say_a temple_n and_o that_o caydar_n command_v that_o a_o feast_n or_o easter_n shall_v annual_o be_v celebrate_v in_o honour_n to_o god_n and_o in_o they_o come_v to_o visit_v this_o idol_n and_o the_o temple_n of_o meka_n and_o to_o celebrate_v the_o say_a passeover_n which_o feast_n and_o pilgrimage_n be_v the_o same_o which_o the_o moor_n now_o use_v and_o have_v use_v ever_o since_o muhamed_n time_n and_o the_o pilgrimage_n or_o visitation_n call_v alhage_n which_o the_o moor_n now_o use_v be_v the_o same_o which_o the_o idolater_n use_v and_o all_o the_o ceremony_n which_o the_o idolater_n use_v in_o the_o time_n of_o idolatry_n the_o moor_n at_o this_o day_n annual_o use_v the_o very_a same_o when_o they_o go_v to_o meka_n and_o that_o by_o a_o express_a command_n in_o their_o law_n and_o sect_n and_o even_o as_o the_o idolater_n do_v forbear_v the_o kill_v any_o wild_a beast_n or_o bird_n by_o hunt_v in_o the_o country_n that_o they_o will_v not_o kill_v a_o louse_n or_o a_o flea_n and_o hence_o the_o moor_n call_v these_o month_n prohibit_v and_o forbid_v the_o moor_n do_v at_o this_o present_a use_n and_o observe_v the_o same_o and_o divers_a other_o ceremony_n which_o the_o idolater_n use_v in_o the_o say_v passeover_n and_o pilgrimage_n or_o alhage_n as_o we_o say_v above_o and_o shall_v declare_v further_a here-und_a the_o say_a book_n azar_n assirme_v that_o the_o say_a caydar_n the_o second_o son_n of_o ishmael_n be_v the_o man_n that_o institute_v those_o ceremony_n from_o which_o caydar_n muhame_v descend_v and_o hence_o this_o caydar_n be_v in_o arabic_a call_v gead_a dealharab_n i._n e._n grandfather_n of_o the_o arabian_n that_o book_n likewise_o say_v that_o the_o say_a caydar_n erect_v a_o black_a stone_n in_o the_o say_a tower_n right_a against_o the_o say_a idol_n that_o those_o who_o go_v into_o the_o temple_n may_v know_v that_o the_o idol_n stand_v in_o the_o tower_n right_a against_o that_o stone_n and_o that_o in_o stead_n of_o the_o idol_n they_o shall_v kiss_v that_o stone_n which_o be_v then_o and_o be_v at_o this_o present_a call_v the_o bless_a stone_n i_o shall_v elsewhere_o tell_v you_o that_o muhamed_a worship_v this_o stone_n and_o magnify_v it_o in_o the_o temple_n of_o the_o idol_n and_o use_v much_o reverence_n to_o it_o and_o in_o his_o law_n and_o sect_n command_v that_o this_o stone_n be_v worship_v and_o kiss_v and_o that_o the_o kiss_n and_o adore_v of_o this_o stone_n be_v a_o article_n of_o his_o law_n and_o that_o it_o be_v at_o present_a in_o the_o same_o place_n where_o it_o be_v at_o that_o time_n when_o the_o idol_n be_v in_o be_v and_o i_o shall_v prove_v as_o well_o by_o the_o alcoran_n and_o by_o muhamed_n suné_fw-fr that_o muhamed_a be_v a_o idolater_n it_o appear_v plain_o that_o the_o descent_n of_o muhamed_a from_o caydar_n the_o second_o son_n of_o ishmael_n unto_o his_o parent_n be_v from_o idolater_n to_o world_n know_v thou_o not_o o_o moor_n that_o during_o all_o the_o aforesaid_a time_n of_o 2800_o year_n viz._n from_o caydar_n unto_o muhamed_a that_o they_o be_v all_o idolater_n a_o rude_a beastly_a and_o very_a ignorant_a people_n as_o the_o alcoran_n testify_v where_o he_o call_v the_o people_n of_o mecca_n zuféhe_n i._n e._n blockhead_n and_o ass_n and_o know_v thou_o not_o that_o from_o caydar_n unto_o muhamed_a there_o can_v be_v no_o other_o descent_n than_o that_o caydar_n beget_v a_o idolatrous_a son_n and_o that_o son_n beget_v another_o idolater_n and_o that_o idolater_n beget_v another_o and_o such_o a_o succession_n you_o find_v until_o muhamed_n grandfather_n for_o it_o say_v thus_o motalib_n a_o idolater_n beget_v abdalla_n muhamed_n father_n who_o be_v also_o a_o idolater_n and_o this_o abdalla_n beget_v muhame_v a_o idolater_n now_o observe_v o_o moor_n and_o consider_v the_o generation_n of_o jesus_n christ_n the_o son_n of_o mary_n and_o thou_o shall_v find_v that_o he_o descend_v from_o abraham_n the_o father_n of_o isaac_n and_o from_o isaac_n the_o father_n of_o jacob_n and_o from_o jacob_n the_o father_n of_o judah_n and_o from_o juda_n the_o father_n of_o etc._n etc._n and_o from_o one_o to_o another_o until_o our_o lady_n the_o virgin_n mary_n and_o thou_o shall_v see_v that_o they_o be_v all_o patriarch_n prophet_n hero_n perfect_a man_n and_o saint_n and_o will_v acknowledge_v that_o this_o generation_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v better_a than_o the_o generation_n of_o muhamed_a and_o observe_v likewise_o the_o time_n of_o christ_n how_o it_o be_v adorn_v with_o prophet_n prophecy_n saint_n and_o priest_n who_o worship_v in_o the_o temple_n of_o god_n the_o sacred_a house_n of_o jerusalem_n which_o the_o alcoran_n call_v the_o bless_a house_n of_o god_n and_o compare_v muhamed_n temple_n wherein_o idolatry_n than_o reign_v more_o than_o at_o any_o time_n before_o or_o since_o with_o the_o temple_n which_o jesâ—â—_n christ_n and_o this_o virgin_n his_o mother_n frequent_v which_o be_v the_o temple_n of_o god_n sanctify_v serve_v and_o honour_v by_o prophet_n and_o holy_a priest_n and_o compare_v the_o father_n and_o mother_n of_o muhamed_a and_o thou_o will_v see_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o father_n and_o mother_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o father_n and_o mother_n of_o muhamed_a and_o if_o thou_o say_v that_o jesus_n christ_n have_v no_o father_n i_o answer_v that_o the_o alcoran_n say_v that_o he_o be_v conceive_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o the_o womb_n of_o the_o virgin_n mary_n and_o as_o you_o take_v the_o virgin_n mary_n for_o the_o mother_n of_o jesus_n christ_n so_o you_o must_v take_v the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o his_o father_n who_o be_v true_a god_n and_o if_o all_o that_o proceed_v from_o god_n be_v god_n see_v the_o holy_a ghost_n proceed_v from_o the_o father_n to_o the_o son_n you_o must_v believe_v that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o thus_o you_o see_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o father_n and_o mother_n of_o muhamed_a and_o the_o glorious_a father_n and_o mother_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o contemplate_v upon_o all_o this_o aforesaid_a and_o consider_v of_o it_o well_o according_a to_o reason_n and_o truth_n thou_o
be_v call_v ayate_n ragime_n i._n e._n the_o verse_n of_o lapidation_n which_o be_v in_o the_o six_o chapter_n of_o the_o light_n in_o the_o three_o book_n so_o that_o the_o alcoran_n be_v large_a and_o have_v more_o verse_n in_o the_o day_n of_o muhamed_a than_o it_o now_o have_v now_o tell_v i_o o_o moor_n who_o never_o know_v or_o hear_v such_o thing_n what_o think_v thou_o of_o the_o scripture_n which_o you_o so_o much_o reverence_n that_o when_o you_o take_v it_o in_o your_o hand_n you_o kiss_v it_o and_o swear_v by_o it_o and_o keep_v it_o like_o a_o god_n and_o call_v it_o that_o if_o it_o be_v from_o god_n and_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o of_o it_o which_o be_v lose_v have_v not_o be_v lose_v and_o the_o mouse_n have_v not_o eat_v those_o note_n in_o axa_n house_n &_o that_o verse_n of_o lapidation_n have_v not_o be_v lose_v observe_v then_o o_o moor_n &_o consider_v this_o and_o thou_o will_v know_v thy_o error_n &_o be_v convert_v to_o god_n &_o god_n will_v have_v mercy_n on_o thou_o if_o thou_o love_v thyself_o and_o if_o thy_o soul_n be_v dear_a to_o thou_o and_o so_o i_o will_v conclude_v this_o second_o chapter_n chap._n iii_o the_o three_o chapter_n of_o this_o treatise_n discourse_v of_o muhamed_n suné_n what_o the_o word_n signify_v of_o the_o six_o book_n thereof_o and_o what_o they_o contain_v their_o name_n and_o the_o reason_n of_o the_o collect_v of_o they_o who_o collect_v they_o and_o when_o they_o be_v collect_v correct_v and_o reduce_v into_o the_o order_n they_o be_v now_o in_o suné_fw-fr signify_v a_o way_n or_o law_n or_o the_o follow_n of_o the_o say_n action_n and_o counsel_n of_o muhamed_a which_o his_o disciple_n write_v after_o his_o death_n and_o after_o his_o disciple_n the_o moor_n transcribe_v &_o copy_v the_o disciple_n book_n &_o augment_v and_o abridge_v they_o and_o whole_o alter_v muhamed_n deed_n and_o word_n whence_o proceed_v so_o great_a a_o confusion_n in_o all_o the_o book_n that_o what_o he_o in_o his_o life_n time_n command_v negative_o they_o lay_v the_o same_o down_o affirmative_o and_o what_o muhamed_a have_v command_v and_o set_v down_o in_o his_o law_n affirmative_o they_o set_v the_o same_o down_o negative_o insomuch_o that_o this_o law_n be_v like_a to_o be_v destroy_v and_o never_o use_v more_o upon_o which_o ground_n and_o because_o of_o the_o great_a damage_n and_o difference_n which_o happen_v in_o the_o muhametan_a sect_n and_o to_o prevent_v the_o utter_a loss_n of_o the_o same_o a_o alkalife_n or_o king_n of_o the_o moor_n cause_v public_a proclamation_n to_o be_v make_v through_o all_o his_o dominion_n that_o all_o the_o learned_a man_n alfaquy_n and_o doctor_n shall_v repair_v to_o he_o to_o the_o city_n of_o damascus_n and_o shall_v bring_v with_o from_o all_o part_n and_o each_o of_o they_o collect_v a_o book_n and_o entitle_v and_o call_v it_o by_o his_o proper_a name_n and_o they_o present_v they_o to_o the_o king_n or_o caliph_n who_o after_o the_o say_v six_o book_n have_v be_v view_v and_o examine_v by_o all_o the_o other_o doctor_n there_o assemble_v command_v that_o all_o the_o other_o book_n shall_v be_v cast_v into_o a_o great_a river_n near_o damascus_n call_v adegele_n whereupon_o have_v lade_v two_o hundred_o camel_n with_o the_o multitude_n of_o book_n which_o be_v bring_v thither_o they_o cast_v they_o into_o this_o river_n likewise_o the_o king_n give_v notice_n by_o a_o decree_n or_o public_a proclamation_n throughout_o all_o the_o country_n of_o the_o moor_n that_o no_o alfaquy_n shall_v dare_v to_o read_v or_o keep_v any_o book_n but_o the_o six_o aforesaid_a and_o that_o none_o shall_v mention_v any_o say_n or_o deed_n of_o muhamed_a but_o such_o as_o shall_v be_v find_v write_v in_o the_o say_a book_n and_o that_o all_o moor_n and_o musselman_n or_o believer_n of_o muhamed_a shall_v receive_v these_o book_n for_o as_o true_a and_o authentic_a as_o if_o they_o be_v the_o very_a alcoran_n itself_o and_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v less_o reverence_v among_o they_o than_o the_o alcoran_n itself_o all_o which_o the_o moor_n observe_v and_o have_v these_o book_n in_o as_o great_a reverence_n as_o the_o alcoran_n itself_o and_o the_o word_n thereof_o be_v among_o the_o moor_n of_o as_o much_o yea_o great_a authority_n than_o be_v the_o alcoran_n i_o have_v the_o more_o enlarge_v myself_o upon_o this_o point_n because_o that_o in_o some_o case_n they_o follow_v the_o say_n of_o muhamed_a and_o leave_v the_o say_n of_o the_o alcoran_n as_o of_o no_o effect_n which_o saying_n of_o muhamed_a be_v contain_v in_o the_o six_o book_n aforesaid_a so_o that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o in_o their_o opinion_n be_v the_o alcoran_n be_v make_v void_a by_o muhameds_n say_n as_o be_v declare_v in_o the_o precede_a chapter_n and_o as_o shall_v further_o appear_v in_o the_o eleven_o chapter_n in_o this_o manner_n be_v muhamed_n sect_n restore_v and_o for_o this_o the_o moor_n hold_v and_o esteem_v the_o say_a caliph_n for_o a_o saint_n nevertheless_o i_o say_v that_o in_o most_o part_n of_o what_o these_o learned_a man_n gather_v and_o collect_v in_o those_o six_o book_n they_o have_v insert_v several_a contrariety_n and_o divers_a say_n and_o do_n of_o muhamed_a which_o contradict_v each_o other_o and_o do_v not_o agree_v one_o whit_n which_o have_v and_o in_o several_a other_o ceremony_n and_o custom_n but_o especial_o in_o those_o thing_n which_o appertain_v to_o judicature_n so_o that_o each_o opinion_n in_o itself_o differ_v from_o the_o other_o three_o of_o melech_n opinion_n be_v all_o the_o moor_n of_o medina_n and_o of_o all_o africa_a and_o all_o the_o moor_n which_o be_v and_o be_v in_o spain_n of_o assafihy_n opinion_n be_v the_o moor_n of_o meka_n and_o the_o country_n adjacent_a all_o those_o of_o arabia_n the_o happy_a and_o the_o great_a those_o of_o baldeck_n and_o damascus_n of_o alambelii_n opinion_n be_v the_o moor_n of_o armenia_n and_o persia_n and_o of_o buhamfai_n opinion_n be_v the_o moor_n of_o syria_n and_o alexandria_n but_o in_o grand-cair_a all_o the_o four_o opinion_n be_v follow_v i_o mean_v that_o those_o moor_n be_v divide_v into_o four_o party_n or_o sect_n viz._n one_o hold_n melich_n opinion_n another_o alssafihy_n opinion_n another_o be_v of_o the_o three_o opinion_n and_o another_o of_o the_o four_o opinion_n the_o which_o proceed_v from_o the_o great_a and_o innumerable_a multitude_n of_o people_n in_o that_o city_n so_o that_o by_o reason_n of_o those_o six_o book_n and_o of_o those_o four_o opinion_n muhameds_n sect_n have_v always_o
man_n in_o the_o world_n but_o he_o be_v ever_o worthy_a be_v divine_a name_n and_o such_o as_o be_v the_o name_n and_o the_o dignity_n of_o jesus_n christ_n such_o be_v his_o life_n his_o word_n his_o work_n and_o his_o counsel_n and_o likewise_o thou_o will_v find_v the_o evangelist_n so_o full_a of_o such_o great_a and_o manifest_a miracle_n and_o pious_a work_n which_o jesus_n christ_n do_v in_o his_o life_n and_o of_o so_o good_a and_o holy_a doctrine_n which_o his_o disciple_n teach_v after_o he_o that_o there_o can_v possible_o be_v better_a and_o o_o moor_n by_o make_v this_o comparison_n thou_o will_v see_v what_o difference_n there_o be_v between_o muhamed_a and_o our_o redeemer_n jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o scripture_n of_o either_o and_o so_o thou_o will_v come_v to_o find_v the_o angel_n gabriel_n with_o seven_o pair_n of_o wing_n white_a than_o snow_n and_o clear_a than_o crystal_n who_o have_v a_o beast_n with_o he_o as_o white_a as_o milk_n which_o beast_n be_v big_a than_o a_o ass_n and_o less_o than_o a_o mule_n and_o be_v call_v alborack_n the_o say_a book_n azar_n report_v that_o muhamed_a say_v that_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n embrace_v he_o and_o salute_v he_o say_v to_o he_o o_o muhamed_a god_n send_v thou_o much_o greeting_n and_o command_v thou_o to_o come_v along_o with_o i_o this_o night_n for_o to_o see_v divers_a secret_n which_o the_o son_n of_o man_n never_o see_v and_o muhamed_a answer_v he_o that_o he_o be_v glad_a of_o that_o and_o be_v very_o willing_a to_o go_v whereunto_o the_o angel_n reply_v o_o muhamed_a then_o get_v up_o upon_o alborack_n but_o alborack_n turn_v aside_o and_o will_v not_o let_v muhame_v get_v up_o on_o he_o and_o the_o angel_n say_v to_o alborack_n why_o turn_v thou_o aside_o and_o will_v not_o let_v the_o first_o beast_n that_o shall_v enter_v into_o paradise_n and_o no_o soon_o have_v muhame_v say_v these_o word_n but_o alborack_n present_o consent_v and_o muhamed_a get_v upon_o he_o and_o the_o angel_n lead_v alborack_n by_o the_o reins_n of_o his_o bridle_n and_o so_o they_o travel_v till_o they_o come_v to_o the_o holy_a temple_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o the_o say_a book_n azar_n say_v that_o as_o muhamed_a be_v ride_v on_o his_o way_n he_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o a_o woman_n who_o cry_v after_o he_o o_o muhamed_a muhamed_a and_o the_o angel_n say_v to_o he_o o_o muhamed_a do_v not_o answer_v this_o woman_n and_o go_v far_o another_o woman_n begin_v to_o cry_v after_o he_o and_o call_v o_o muhamed_a muhamed_a and_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n again_o admonish_v he_o not_o to_o answer_v she_o and_o as_o they_o go_v far_o on_o muhamed_a entreat_v the_o angel_n to_o tell_v he_o who_o those_o woman_n be_v and_o gabriel_n tell_v he_o that_o the_o first_o be_v she_o that_o publish_v the_o law_n of_o the_o jew_n and_o if_o he_o have_v answer_v she_o all_o the_o moor_n will_v have_v turn_v jew_n and_o the_o other_o he_o say_v be_v she_o that_o publish_v the_o law_n of_o the_o christian_n and_o that_o if_o he_o have_v answer_v she_o all_o the_o moor_n will_v have_v become_v christian_n the_o say_a book_n azar_n further_a report_v that_o muhamed_a say_v that_o when_o he_o be_v arrive_v at_o the_o temple_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o be_v come_v near_o to_o the_o gate_n of_o the_o temple_n he_o alight_v off_o from_o alborack_n and_o gabriel_n and_o muhamed_a go_v together_o to_o the_o temple_n and_o as_o they_o go_v they_o meet_v all_o the_o prophet_n and_o messenger_n who_o be_v also_o purposely_o come_v thither_o and_o they_o all_o come_v forth_o of_o the_o temple_n and_o receive_v muhamed_a and_o greet_v he_o say_v thus_o in_o arabic_a o_o marhaben_n birazuli_fw-la azadih_o guanabyi_fw-la alquerin_fw-mi i._n e._n rejoice_v thou_o true_a messenger_n and_o honourable_a prophet_n and_o then_o they_o all_o carry_v he_o in_o procession_n with_o great_a honour_n unto_o the_o great_a chapel_n which_o be_v call_v in_o arabic_a mihrab_n and_o request_v he_o to_o make_v a_o zala_fw-mi or_o prayer_n for_o they_o all_o and_o thereupon_o muhamed_a go_v into_o the_o mihrab_n or_o chapel_n and_o make_v the_o zala_n with_o all_o the_o prophet_n and_o messenger_n and_o they_o all_o make_v application_n to_o muhamed_a that_o he_o will_v remember_v they_o when_o he_o shall_v speak_v with_o god_n and_o so_o they_o all_o depart_v and_o muhamed_a and_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n be_v leave_v there_o alone_o then_o they_o two_o go_v out_o of_o the_o gate_n of_o the_o temple_n &_o there_o find_v a_o ladder_n which_o reach_v from_o earth_n to_o heaven_n all_o make_v of_o the_o light_n of_o god_n and_o so_o they_o begin_v to_o ascend_v the_o say_a ladder_n the_o angel_n first_o and_o muhamed_a after_o he_o hold_v by_o the_o angell_n hand_n till_o they_o arrive_v at_o the_o first_o heaven_n which_o heaven_n muhamed_a say_v be_v make_v of_o pure_a silver_n and_o there_o they_o see_v the_o star_n hang_v on_o this_o first_o heaven_n with_o chain_n of_o gold_n and_o the_o big_a of_o they_o be_v as_o big_a as_o the_o mountain_n noho_n which_o be_v a_o mountain_n near_o to_o almedina_n and_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n knock_v at_o heaven_n gate_n and_o the_o porter_n ask_v who_o be_v thou_o and_o he_o answer_v i_o be_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n and_o muhamed_a the_o prophet_n and_o friend_n of_o god_n be_v with_o i_o and_o as_o soon_o as_o the_o porter_n hear_v muhamed_n name_n he_o open_v the_o gate_n of_o the_o first_o heaven_n and_o they_o go_v in_o and_o find_v a_o ancient_a hoary-headed_a man_n which_o be_v adam_n and_o adam_n come_v and_o embrace_v muhamed_a and_o thank_v god_n that_o he_o have_v give_v he_o such_o a_o son_n and_o recommend_v himself_o to_o muhamed_a and_o pass_v far_o they_o see_v a_o great_a multitude_n of_o angel_n in_o this_o first_o heaven_n of_o divers_a shape_n and_o figure_n viz._n of_o man_n ox_n horse_n fly_v bird_n and_o cock_n and_o among_o the_o cock_n he_o say_v there_o be_v one_o who_o foot_n stand_v on_o the_o first_o heaven_n and_o his_o head_n reach_v to_o the_o second_o muhamed_a ask_v the_o angel_n what_o it_o be_v and_o why_o the_o angel_n have_v so_o many_o form_n and_o shape_n and_o what_o their_o figure_n signify_v unto_o who_o the_o angel_n answer_v and_o say_v that_o all_o these_o angel_n pray_v to_o god_n for_o the_o inhabitant_n and_o dweller_n on_o the_o earth_n viz._n the_o angel_n which_o have_v the_o form_n of_o man_n pray_v for_o man_n they_o which_o have_v the_o form_n and_o shape_n of_o ox_n pray_v for_o ox_n and_o so_o of_o the_o rest_n and_o they_o which_o have_v the_o form_n of_o cock_n pray_v and_o mediate_v for_o the_o cock_n then_o say_v muhamed_a now_o tell_v i_o what_o mean_v that_o great_a cock_n the_o angel_n answer_v when_o this_o cock_n crow_v all_o the_o cock_n here_o of_o his_o shape_n crow_v present_o and_o when_o the_o cock_n on_o earth_n hear_v the_o cock_n of_o heaven_n crow_n than_o they_o
etc._n etc._n i._n e._n that_o god_n have_v forbid_v the_o moor_n that_o which_o be_v murrain_n blood_n swine_n that_o which_o be_v offer_v to_o idol_n and_o that_o which_o have_v be_v strangle_v that_o which_o die_v by_o the_o thrust_n of_o a_o horn_n or_o by_o a_o casualty_n and_o also_o wild_a beast_n &c_n &c_n he_o forbid_v all_o these_o thing_n in_o the_o say_a chapter_n the_o which_o also_o the_o moor_n do_v hold_v for_o prohibit_v and_o in_o another_o song_n in_o the_o five_o chapter_n of_o the_o first_o book_n god_n command_v and_o charge_v muhamed_a to_o tell_v the_o moor_n that_o they_o shall_v say_v nothing_o be_v prohibit_v and_o forbid_v to_o be_v eat_v or_o drink_v but_o murrain_n blood_n swine_n flesh_n and_o that_o which_o be_v offer_v to_o idol_n the_o say_v verse_n in_o arabic_a say_v thus_o o_o zolle_n agido_fw-la etc._n etc._n so_o that_o the_o moor_n in_o the_o first_o chapter_n forbid_v twelve_o thing_n and_o in_o the_o other_o chapter_n contradict_v themselves_o they_o forbid_v but_o four_o and_o if_o thou_o will_v say_v o_o moor_n that_o the_o verse_n of_o the_o last_o chapter_n be_v revoke_v by_o the_o first_o i_o prove_v that_o the_o first_o much_o less_o the_o last_o be_v not_o revoke_v but_o be_v verse_n which_o remain_v in_o force_n and_o virtue_n and_o which_o be_v call_v in_o arabic_a ayetum_n mohquemetum_n i_o e._n decisory_n and_o valid_a verse_n nay_o it_o be_v not_o find_v in_o all_o the_o alcoran_n that_o any_o former_a verse_n revoke_v the_o second_o for_o it_o may_v be_v reasonable_a that_o the_o second_o may_v revoke_v the_o first_o but_o not_o that_o the_o first_o shall_v revoke_v the_o second_o therefore_o i_o say_v that_o if_o the_o first_o verse_n be_v valid_a and_o decisory_a the_o second_o verse_n must_v likewise_o be_v valid_a and_o decisory_a and_o this_o be_v so_o conclude_v among_o the_o moor_n viz._n that_o both_o the_o verse_n shall_v be_v valid_a and_o decisory_a what_o say_v thou_o now_o o_o moor_n in_o this_o great_a confusion_n where_o one_o verse_n forbid_v twelve_o thing_n and_o the_o other_o forbid_v but_o four_o for_o hence_o it_o plain_o appear_v that_o these_o be_v not_o verse_n of_o god_n nor_o of_o a_o prophet_n send_v from_o god_n furthermore_o the_o alcoran_n in_o the_o eleven_o chapter_n of_o the_o second_o book_n write_v that_o the_o use_n of_o wine_n be_v allow_v the_o word_n in_o arabic_a say_v thus_o o_o guamin_n zamarati_fw-la etc._n etc._n which_o signify_v that_o of_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o date_n of_o the_o palm_n tree_n and_o of_o grape_n you_o may_v drink_v and_o take_v lawful_a sustentation_n by_o force_n of_o which_o verse_n the_o moor_n drink_v wine_n lawful_o the_o space_n of_o twelve_o year_n but_o afterward_o upon_o a_o fancy_n which_o
