as_o easy_o may_v the_o dead_a man_n raise_v himself_o as_o we_o may_v raise_v ourselves_o from_o the_o death_n of_o sin_n to_o newness_n of_o life_n 2.1_o eph._n 2.1_o eph._n 2.1_o it_o be_v only_o the_o water_n of_o god_n spirit_n that_o can_v wash_v away_o our_o ethiopian_a blackness_n and_o turn_v our_o spot_a uncleanness_n into_o snowy_a whiteness_n it_o be_v only_o the_o god_n of_o life_n that_o can_v make_v we_o rise_v from_o the_o death_n of_o sin_n to_o newness_n of_o life_n but_o here_o it_o may_v be_v demand_v that_o if_o sanctification_n be_v whole_o the_o work_n of_o god_n and_o not_o in_o our_o own_o power_n why_o do_v the_o scripture_n exhort_v we_o to_o sanctify_v ourselves_o to_o mortify_v our_o sin_n and_o to_o walk_v in_o newness_n of_o life_n i_o answer_v that_o though_o sanctification_n be_v whole_o from_o god_n yet_o these_o exhortation_n be_v necessary_a for_o he_o work_v this_o work_n in_o we_o not_o as_o in_o stock_n and_o stone_n but_o as_o in_o reasonable_a creature_n of_o who_o he_o require_v consent_n of_o will_n desire_n and_o endeavour_n in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o mean_v ordain_v of_o god_n for_o the_o beginning_n and_o perfect_v of_o this_o work_n of_o sanctification_n in_o us._n and_o although_o this_o will_n desire_n and_o endeavour_n be_v his_o work_n likewise_o yet_o these_o exhortation_n to_o godliness_n be_v to_o good_a purpose_n for_o with_o the_o exhortation_n god_n join_v the_o operation_n of_o his_o spirit_n and_o while_o he_o command_v we_o he_o give_v power_n also_o to_o perform_v that_o which_o he_o command_v while_o he_o exhort_v we_o to_o sanctification_n he_o himself_o sanctifi_v we_o with_o his_o spirit_n §_o sect._n 2_o now_o further_o we_o be_v to_o know_v 9.14_o that_o the_o work_n of_o sanctification_n be_v common_a to_o the_o three_o person_n in_o trinity_n it_o be_v 3.5_o eph._n 2.4.5_o heb._n 9.14_o that_o as_o all_o other_o work_v of_o god_n which_o he_o exercise_v towards_o his_o creature_n so_o this_o work_n of_o sanctification_n likewise_o be_v common_a unto_o the_o three_o person_n in_o the_o trinity_n for_o first_o god_n
