saint_n paul_n presuppose_v that_o the_o law_n be_v unpossible_a and_o if_o he_o have_v not_o take_v this_o as_o grant_v he_o may_v seem_v to_o have_v proceed_v in_o his_o argument_n without_o sense_n or_o reason_n thus_o we_o see_v that_o the_o papist_n have_v take_v and_o ground_v themselves_o upon_o a_o principle_n and_o ground_n altogether_o contrary_a to_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n yea_o sleep_n and_o well_o this_o flit_v from_o he_o without_o move_v the_o heart_n or_o draw_v any_o lust_n after_o it_o and_o yet_o for_o this_o we_o must_v lament_v and_o bewail_v ourselves_o before_o god_o and_o know_v that_o except_o god_n stay_v we_o by_o his_o grace_n we_o have_v open_v the_o door_n to_o satan_n whereat_o enter_v in_o he_o may_v incontinent_o win_v we_o unto_o far_a wickedness_n we_o must_v therefore_o be_v sorry_a for_o this_o thing_n albeit_o god_o impute_v it_o not_o unto_o we_o for_o sin_n but_o there_o be_v now_o a_o second_o degree_n when_o not_o only_o we_o conceive_v some_o wicked_a thing_n in_o our_o mind_n move_v hereunto_o by_o some_o present_a object_n but_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v thereby_o something_o move_v that_o we_o shall_v feel_v some_o prick_n of_o satan_n which_o stir_v we_o then_o be_v sin_n conceive_v that_o be_v to_o say_v although_o there_o be_v no_o consent_n give_v and_o albeit_o the_o will_v be_v not_o resolute_a herein_o yet_o be_v sin_n form_v before_o god_o and_o it_o be_v damnable_a in_o his_o sight_n for_o to_o have_v this_o better_a understand_v we_o must_v allege_v example_n hereof_o it_o may_v so_o happen_v that_o a_o man_n behold_v either_o the_o house_n or_o the_o land_n of_o a_o other_o conceive_v some_o fly_a fantasy_n and_o yet_o his_o heart_n be_v nothing_o move_v herewith_o he_o have_v no_o such_o desire_n breed_v in_o he_o as_o to_o say_v i_o will_v this_o be_v i_o but_o he_o pass_v from_o this_o thought_n and_o see_v it_o be_v but_o a_o vanity_n he_o can_v not_o withstand_v it_o from_o arise_v in_o he_o but_o albeit_o there_o be_v not_o here_o in_o any_o wicked_a affection_n and_o desire_n yet_o notwithstanding_o god_o do_v hereby_o warn_v we_o of_o our_o infirmity_n and_o weakness_n and_o we_o must_v hereupon_o humble_a and_o bewail_v ourselves_o and_o acknowledge_v that_o this_o be_v already_o a_o sin_n for_o which_o we_o be_v to_o be_v condemn_v for_o let_v we_o consider_v whether_o this_o shall_v be_v find_v in_o the_o angel_n of_o heaven_n it_o be_v most_o certain_a it_o shall_v not_o be_v see_v in_o they_o and_o yet_o the_o justice_n and_o righteousness_n of_o angel_n shall_v hardly_o suffice_v to_o satisfy_v and_o answer_v the_o law_n of_o god_n true_a it_o be_v that_o there_o be_v in_o god_n a_o other_o justice_n as_o we_o have_v see_v in_o the_o book_n of_o job_n which_o surpass_v and_o exceed_v this_o of_o the_o law_n but_o if_o the_o angel_n of_o heaven_n apply_v themselves_o to_o fulfil_v the_o law_n of_o god_o without_o doubt_n it_o be_v all_o they_o be_v able_a to_o do_v to_o conform_v themselves_o to_o the_o rule_n which_o he_o here_o prescribe_v we_o we_o see_v then_o that_o this_o be_v a_o vice_n for_o which_o man_n ought_v to_o condemn_v themselves_o not_o when_o they_o shall_v have_v have_v any_o occasion_n offer_v whereby_o some_o wicked_a affection_n may_v arise_v but_o when_o they_o shall_v have_v breed_v in_o they_o such_o a_o desire_n as_o to_o say_v i_o can_v wish_v this_o or_o that_o although_o a_o man_n incontinent_o repel_v such_o a_o desire_n and_o stay_v nothing_o at_o all_o upon_o it_o yet_o be_v he_o culpable_a of_o this_o covetousness_n which_o be_v here_o mention_v now_o see_v this_o be_v so_o let_v we_o learn_v altogether_o to_o condemn_v ourselves_o and_o again_o let_v we_o beware_v we_o fall_v not_o into_o a_o double_a condemnation_n when_o we_o shall_v not_o only_o have_v covet_v something_o to_o provoke_v we_o unto_o evil_n but_o shall_v have_v nourish_v this_o desire_n as_o when_o a_o woman_n have_v couceive_v she_o nourish_v her_o child_n until_o she_o bring_v he_o forth_o for_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v loose_v the_o bridle_n to_o our_o wicked_a lust_n and_o desire_n so_o far_o as_o that_o our_o will_n be_v win_v in_o so_o much_o that_o we_o rest_v ourselves_o on_o wickedness_n to_o give_v our_o full_a consent_n thereunto_o behold_v how_o we_o incur_v a_o double_a condemnation_n and_o then_o must_v we_o with_o more_o and_o great_a tear_n bewail_v our_o misery_n for_o we_o see_v we_o have_v bring_v two_o condemnation_n upon_o our_o head_n except_o god_n of_o his_o infinite_a mercy_n and_o goodness_n bear_v with_o we_o loe_o what_o we_o have_v here_o to_o note_v touch_v evil_a and_o wicked_a thought_n now_o withal_o we_o must_v return_v to_o consider_v of_o the_o remedy_n we_o have_v herein_o for_o we_o be_v in_o a_o desperate_a case_n as_o be_v utter_o confound_v if_o we_o have_v not_o this_o grace_n and_o mercy_n of_o god_n whereby_o we_o be_v succour_v and_o relieve_v therefore_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v understand_v and_o confess_v that_o we_o be_v in_o all_o sort_n that_o may_v be_v culpable_a behold_v god_n call_v and_o show_v we_o that_o of_o these_o so_o many_o wicked_a desire_n which_o be_v in_o we_o although_o in_o their_o own_o nature_n they_o be_v sin_n yet_o will_v he_o not_o impute_v any_o of_o they_o unto_o we_o for_o sin_n be_v then_o a_o wicked_a desire_n repute_v sin_n in_o the_o faithful_a no._n but_o here_o two_o diverse_a thing_n be_v to_o be_v consider_v for_o if_o we_o respect_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o vice_n it_o be_v always_o sin_n but_o do_v god_n pardon_v it_o why_o then_o behold_v he_o call_v none_o of_o these_o evil_a concupiscence_n unto_o account_n forasmuch_o as_o by_o his_o free_a mercy_n and_o goodness_n he_o pardon_v they_o unto_o the_o faithful_a we_o know_v also_o that_o by_o the_o blood_n of_o jesus_n christ_n all_o our_o spot_v be_v wash_v and_o

they_o as_o it_o be_v upbraid_v they_o that_o by_o their_o tradition_n they_o have_v set_v at_o naught_o the_o statute_n and_o commandment_n of_o god_n so_o then_o let_v we_o beware_v how_o we_o walk_v right_o 3._o i_o mean_v on_o the_o right_a hand_n to_o turn_v ourselves_o from_o the_o way_n which_o god_n have_v show_v we_o and_o why_o we_o turn_v then_o on_o the_o right_a hand_n when_o we_o will_v be_v to_o wise_a and_o to_o just_a and_o when_o we_o think_v it_o be_v good_a to_o do_v more_o than_o we_o be_v command_v but_o herein_o we_o be_v the_o servant_n and_o minister_n of_o the_o devil_n for_o god_o disallow_v whatsoever_o we_o shall_v add_v unto_o his_o word_n he_o will_v no_o such_o medley_n now_o we_o decline_v unto_o the_o left_a hand_n when_o we_o diminish_v and_o take_v away_o any_o thing_n from_o the_o word_n of_o god_n namely_o when_o we_o think_v we_o have_v do_v enough_o if_o we_o have_v discharge_v half_o our_o duty_n and_o that_o for_o the_o rest_n he_o give_v we_o leave_v to_o follow_v our_o own_o lust_n and_o desire_n a_o man_n that_o shall_v not_o be_v subject_a to_o some_o number_n of_o vice_n will_v happy_o desire_v to_o acquit_v himself_o towards_o god_n so_o far_o forth_o but_o because_o he_o can_v not_o restrain_v himself_o from_o some_o one_o he_o will_v that_o god_n shall_v notwithstanding_o be_v content_v &_o give_v he_o leave_v to_o condition_n with_o he_o to_o say_v well_o if_o i_o miss_v in_o this_o thing_n i_o will_v make_v a_o recompense_n in_o another_o but_o take_v we_o heed_n of_o walk_v on_o the_o left_a hand_n that_o be_v to_o say_v of_o diminish_v any_o thing_n from_o the_o word_n of_o god_n for_o when_o he_o have_v forbid_v man_n murder_v he_o have_v forbid_v they_o also_o to_o steal_v &_o to_o commit_v adultery_n we_o must_v therefore_o without_o any_o reply_n yield_v our_o obedience_n unto_o he_o in_o all_o thing_n for_o as_o we_o ought_v not_o to_o add_v any_o thing_n unto_o the_o law_n of_o god_n so_o be_v it_o not_o lawful_a to_o take_v any_o thing_n from_o it_o but_o we_o must_v walk_v in_o all_o the_o way_n he_o show_v we_o and_o now_o when_o he_o say_v the_o way_n it_o be_v to_o exhort_v we_o to_o hold_v ourselves_o therein_o as_o we_o shall_v see_v in_o the_o end_n of_o the_o book_n behold_v the_o way_n walk_v you_o therein_o 9_o will_v moses_n say_v as_o if_o he_o say_v who_o soever_o turn_v himself_o aside_o from_o the_o doctrine_n which_o i_o set_v before_o you_o he_o wander_v he_o run_v but_o across_o the_o field_n &_o the_o further_o he_o run_v on_o the_o further_o course_n in_o the_o right_a way_n and_o so_o know_v you_o that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v your_o way_n wherein_o you_o must_v walk_v if_o this_o word_n be_v well_o imprint_v in_o our_o mind_n we_o shall_v be_v hold_v short_a than_o to_o run_v wander_v at_o rover_n and_o range_v whither_o soever_o our_o flit_a fancy_n &_o desire_n shall_v carry_v we_o as_o we_o accustomable_o use_v to_o do_v we_o shall_v i_o say_v behold_v back_o in_o this_o way_n which_o be_v prescribe_v we_o for_o our_o god_n show_v we_o continual_o which_o be_v the_o way_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o man_n enter_v into_o their_o dispute_n and_o make_v long_a question_n what_o be_v to_o be_v do_v and_o what_o be_v not_o to_o be_v do_v as_o if_o it_o have_v not_o be_v say_v that_o god_o never_o open_v his_o mouth_n but_o to_o show_v we_o the_o right_a and_o perfect_a way_n and_o when_o he_o show_v it_o we_o do_v not_o we_o he_o great_a wrong_n and_o injury_n if_o we_o follow_v he_o not_o and_o do_v we_o not_o accuse_v he_o as_o if_o he_o have_v lose_v all_o his_o time_n and_o pain_n he_o bestow_v to_o instruct_v we_o we_o see_v now_o what_o this_o word_n way_n import_v namely_o that_o without_o the_o word_n of_o god_o there_o be_v nothing_o but_o error_n and_o deceit_n and_o that_o man_n far_o abuse_v themselves_o when_o they_o shall_v think_v to_o do_v well_o except_o they_o leave_v themselves_o to_o be_v govern_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o show_v we_o the_o best_a and_o the_o straight_a way_n and_o purpose_o he_o say_v all_o the_o way_n for_o he_o will_v not_o part_v stake_n with_o man_n in_o this_o place_n as_o they_o desire_v he_o shall_v that_o be_v they_o will_v always_o reserve_v some_o thing_n i_o know_v not_o what_o unto_o themselves_o they_o will_v serve_v god_o by_o piece_n meal_n as_o we_o say_v but_o behold_v god_o on_o the_o contrary_a side_n say_v i_o must_v be_v obey_v of_o all_o throughout_o all_o point_n or_o else_o i_o renounce_v you_o i_o will_v none_o of_o you_o so_o then_o will_v we_o approve_v our_o life_n unto_o god_o we_o must_v not_o think_v to_o yield_v he_o obedience_n in_o part_n only_o but_o we_o must_v take_v heed_n we_o order_v our_o whole_a life_n unto_o that_o which_o he_o command_v we_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o we_o may_v true_o protest_v and_o say_v that_o we_o have_v hold_v ourselves_o in_o all_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n but_o here_o one_o may_v make_v a_o question_n whether_o it_o be_v possible_a that_o we_o may_v walk_v altogether_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n for_o contrariwise_o see_v it_o be_v so_o that_o man_n do_v not_o the_o good_a they_o desire_v to_o do_v it_o shall_v be_v much_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v endeavour_v to_o come_v to_o the_o right_a way_n and_o to_o go_v as_o far_o forward_o towards_o the_o end_n as_o we_o may_v though_o we_o come_v not_o thereto_o saint_n paul_n himself_o complain_v that_o he_o can_v not_o do_v that_o 17._o which_o he_o have_v desire_v for_o to_o discharge_v his_o duty_n towards_o god_n but_o here_o be_v no_o speak_v of_o such_o perfection_n as_o be_v require_v in_o the_o law_n but_o we_o must_v only_o understand_v that_o god_n will_v have_v man_n employ_v themselves_o with_o all_o diligence_n in_o his_o service_n and_o that_o they_o enforce_v themselves_o thereto_o that_o they_o make_v their_o race_n therein_o albeit_o they_o can_v not_o attain_v the_o end_n thereof_o therefore_o although_o for_o all_o our_o life_n time_n we_o go_v as_o drail_v our_o leg_n after_o we_o and_o that_o we_o come_v not_o full_o and_o perfect_o unto_o god_n yet_o must_v we_o proceed_v hereunto_o and_o go_v on_o forward_o not_o in_o part_n only_o but_o in_o all_o that_o which_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o law_n it_o be_v true_a that_o we_o can_v not_o acquit_v ourselves_o herein_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o there_o be_v a_o full_a and_o correspondent_a agreement_n between_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o our_o life_n but_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v this_o desire_n to_o order_v ourselves_o unto_o god_n and_o to_o conform_v ourselves_o unto_o his_o will_n not_o in_o one_o point_n or_o article_n only_o but_o in_o all_o without_o exception_n and_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v bestow_v our_o whole_a travel_n and_o industry_n herein_o behold_v how_o we_o shall_v hold_v we_o in_o all_o the_o way_n of_o god._n for_o he_o bear_v with_o we_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o he_o accept_v in_o good_a part_n such_o a_o desire_n when_o he_o see_v we_o to_o go_v round_o to_o work_v in_o his_o service_n and_o that_o we_o double_v not_o with_o he_o and_o that_o we_o reserve_v not_o to_o ourselves_o our_o own_o lust_n and_o desire_n nor_o yield_v we_o the_o liberty_n and_o leave_n to_o fulfil_v they_o but_o that_o we_o labour_v to_o please_v and_o to_o serve_v he_o as_o much_o as_o we_o may_v and_o according_a unto_o the_o grace_n which_o be_v give_v we_o now_o withal_o he_o also_o adjoin_v that_o they_o may_v prosper_v and_o that_o it_o may_v be_v
