have_v be_v cause_v for_o want_n of_o orderly_a employment_n for_o journeymen-printer_n the_o say_v several_a master_n printer_n employ_v journeyman_n printer_n and_o founder_n of_o letter_n to_o be_v employ_v and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v so_o to_o be_v allow_v as_o aforesaid_a be_v hereby_o require_v to_o take_v special_a care_n that_o all_o journey-men-printer_n and_o journey-men-founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v who_o be_v lawful_o free_a of_o the_o say_v respective_a mystery_n be_v set_v to_o work_n and_o employ_v in_o their_o respective_a trade_n and_o if_o any_o such_o journey-man-printer_n or_o journey-man-founder_n of_o letter_n be_v of_o honest_a and_o good_a behaviour_n and_o able_a in_o his_o trade_n do_v want_n employment_n he_o shall_v repair_v to_o any_o of_o the_o say_a master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o for_o the_o time_n be_v who_o thereupon_o shall_v receive_v he_o or_o they_o into_o work_n if_o such_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n have_v not_o a_o journeyman_n already_o although_o such_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o with_o his_o apprentice_n or_o apprentice_n be_v able_a without_o the_o help_n of_o the_o say_a journeyman_n to_o discharge_v his_o own_o work_n upon_o pain_n that_o every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o refuse_v to_o receive_v such_o journeyman_n repair_v to_o he_o as_o aforesaid_a shall_v forfeit_v five_o pound_n to_o be_v recover_v by_o bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n in_o any_o court_n of_o record_n wherein_o no_o essoign_n wager_n at_o law_n privilege_n or_o protection_n shall_v be_v admit_v the_o moiety_n of_o which_o forfeiture_n shall_v go_v to_o shop_n and_o to_o view_v there_o what_o be_v imprint_v bind_v or_o stitch_v and_o to_o examine_v whether_o the_o same_o be_v license_v and_o to_o demand_v a_o sight_n of_o the_o say_a licence_n and_o if_o the_o say_a book_n so_o imprint_v bind_v or_o stitch_v shall_v not_o be_v license_v then_o to_o seize_v upon_o so_o much_o thereof_o as_o shall_v be_v find_v imprint_v together_o with_o the_o the_o church_n of_o england_n or_o against_o the_o state_n and_o government_n then_o upon_o such_o suspicion_n to_o seize_v upon_o such_o book_n or_o book_n or_o part_n of_o book_n or_o book_n and_o to_o bring_v the_o same_o unto_o the_o say_a lord_n archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n and_z lord_z bishop_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o one_o of_o they_o or_o to_o the_o secretary_n of_o state_n or_o one_o of_o they_o respective_o who_o shall_v take_v such_o further_a course_n for_o the_o suppress_n thereof_o as_o to_o they_o or_o any_o of_o they_o shall_v seem_v fit_a and_o be_v it_o court_n of_o exchequer_n as_o in_o other_o like_a case_n they_o be_v bind_v to_o do_v the_o fine_n by_o they_o impose_v for_o any_o the_o offence_n aforesaid_a and_o shall_v and_o may_v also_o by_o aforesaid_a that_o every_o printer_n shall_v reserve_v three_o print_a copy_n of_o the_o best_a and_o large_a paper_n of_o every_o book_n new_o print_v or_o reprint_v by_o he_o with_o addition_n and_o shall_v before_o any_o public_a vend_v of_o the_o say_a book_n bring_v they_o to_o the_o master_n of_o the_o company_n of_o stationer_n and_o deliver_v they_o to_o he_o one_o whereof_z shall_v be_v deliver_v to_o the_o keeper_n of_o his_o majesty_n library_n and_o the_o other_o two_o to_o be_v send_v to_o the_o vicechancellor_n of_o the_o two_o university_n respective_o for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o public_a library_n of_o the_o say_a university_n university_n proviso_n for_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o two_o university_n provide_v always_o that_o nothing_o in_o this_o act_n contain_v shall_v be_v construe_v to_o extend_v to_o the_o prejudice_n or_o infringe_n of_o any_o the_o just_a right_n and_o privilege_n of_o either_o of_o the_o two_o university_n of_o this_o realm_n touch_v and_o concern_v the_o licens_v or_o print_v of_o book_n in_o either_o of_o the_o say_a university_n house_n peer_n house_n provide_v always_o that_o no_o search_n shall_v be_v at_o any_o time_n make_v in_o the_o house_n or_o house_n of_o any_o the_o péer_v of_o this_o realm_n or_o of_o any_o other_o person_n or_o person_n not_o be_v free_a of_o or_o use_v any_o of_o the_o trade_n in_o this_o act_n before_o mention_v but_o by_o special_a warrant_n from_o the_o king_n majesty_n under_o his_o sign_n manual_n or_o under_o the_o hand_n of_o one_o or_o both_o of_o his_o majesty_n principal_a secretary_n of_o state_n or_o for_o any_o other_o book_n than_o such_o as_o be_v in_o print_v or_o shall_v be_v print_v after_o the_o ten_o of_o june_n 1662._o and_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n to_o the_o contrary_a thereof_o in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o london_n proviso_n for_o bookseller_n and_o stationer_n london_n provide_v also_o that_o neither_o this_o act_n nor_o any_o thing_n sell_v book_n or_o paper_n within_o westminster-hall_n the_o palace_n of_o westminster_n or_o in_o any_o shop_n or_o shop_n within_o twenty_o yard_n of_o the_o great_a gate_n of_o westminster-hall_n aforesaid_a before_o
record_n at_o westminster_n and_o no_o lease_n grant_v or_o conveyance_n of_o or_o charge_v out_o of_o or_o upon_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n or_o any_o part_n thereof_o except_o lease_n for_o seven_o year_n or_o under_o in_o possession_n shall_v be_v of_o force_n but_o from_o the_o time_n it_o shall_v be_v enter_v with_o the_o say_a register_n as_o aforesaid_a the_o entry_n estate_n according_a to_o the_o aforesaid_a trust_n under_o their_o common_a seal_n the_o tax_n and_o penalty_n then_o in_o arrear_n be_v first_o pay_v which_o for_o nonpayment_n be_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n to_o be_v levy_v by_o sale_n of_o the_o land_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v penalty_n levy_v of_o tax_n and_o penalty_n that_o for_o the_o levy_v such_o tax_n and_o penalty_n as_o be_v now_o in_o arrear_n or_o at_o any_o time_n since_o the_o thirty_o day_n of_o september_n in_o the_o year_n of_o our_o lord_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o fifty_o and_o eight_o other_o their_o successor_n or_o any_o of_o they_o to_o be_v two_o for_o levy_v such_o tax_n and_o penalty_n which_o now_o be_v or_o shall_v be_v so_o in_o arrear_n upon_o the_o respective_a part_n and_o proportion_n of_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n shall_v on_o wednesday_n and_o thursday_n in_o whitsunwéek_a or_o either_o of_o they_o every_o year_n at_o the_o shire-house_n in_o ely_n aforesaid_a in_o the_o say_a isle_n of_o ely_n have_v power_n only_o to_o sell_v so_o much_o of_o such_o part_n and_o proportion_n of_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n upon_o which_o any_o tax_n shall_v be_v in_o arrear_n or_o penalty_n in_o such_o proportion_n as_o the_o say_a governor_n bailiff_n and_o conservator_n of_o the_o say_a corporation_n or_o their_o successor_n or_o any_o five_o or_o more_o of_o they_o whereof_o the_o say_a governor_n and_o bailiff_n or_o any_o of_o they_o to_o be_v two_o shall_v judge_n to_o be_v sufficient_a to_o raise_v such_o tax_n and_o penalty_n by_o any_o write_n under_o the_o seal_n of_o the_o say_a corporation_n and_o the_o person_n or_o person_n to_o who_o such_o sales_n shall_v be_v make_v shall_v be_v a_o lawful_a purchaser_n and_o assignée_n of_o so_o much_o as_o shall_v be_v sell_v to_o all_o intent_n and_o purpose_n whatsoever_o provide_v that_o by_o any_o colour_n of_o any_o sale_n for_o nonpayment_n of_o tax_n lease_n proviso_n for_o tenant_n at_o will_n or_o by_o lease_n any_o tenant_n or_o tenant_n at_o will_n or_o by_o lease_n indent_v upon_o improve_a rent_n of_o any_o part_n of_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n shall_v not_o be_v remove_v from_o he_o or_o their_o possession_n until_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v have_v take_v he_o or_o their_o crop_n from_o off_o the_o premise_n so_o sell_v pay_v reasonable_a rent_n proportionable_a to_o the_o time_n that_o such_o possession_n shall_v from_o and_o after_o such_o sales_n be_v continue_v and_o such_o tenant_n or_o tenant_n as_o shall_v hold_v any_o part_n of_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n by_o lease_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v and_o may_v if_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v think_v meet_a continue_v out_o their_o respective_a term_n pay_v their_o rent_n to_o such_o purchaser_n in_o proportion_n to_o the_o quantity_n of_o acre_n so_o purchase_v any_o thing_n herein_o contain_v to_o the_o contrary_a in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o provide_v that_o the_o say_a corporation_n nor_o their_o successor_n shall_v not_o sell_v any_o part_n or_o proportion_n of_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n for_o any_o tax_n or_o penalty_n in_o arrear_n which_o tax_n or_o penalty_n shall_v not_o be_v in_o arrear_n by_o the_o space_n of_o four_o month_n next_o before_o the_o sale_n nor_o any_o more_o land_n then_o only_o for_o the_o raise_n of_o such_o tax_n and_o penalty_n penalty_n public_a notice_n to_o be_v give_v of_o land_n charge_v with_o arrear_n of_o tax_n or_o penalty_n provide_v also_o that_o the_o say_a corporation_n shall_v give_v public_a notice_n from_o time_n to_o time_n of_o the_o part_n and_o proportion_n of_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n for_o which_o any_o tax_n or_o penalty_n be_v or_o shall_v be_v in_o arrear_n by_o affix_v open_o at_o the_o shire-house_n or_o marketplace_n in_o ely_n aforesaid_a a_o schedule_n in_o parchment_n under_o the_o seal_n of_o the_o say_a corporation_n contain_v such_o part_n and_o proportion_n of_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n for_o which_o any_o tax_n or_o penalty_n be_v or_o shall_v be_v in_o arrear_n with_o the_o name_n and_o name_n of_o the_o respective_a owner_n or_o owner_n enter_v upon_o the_o tax-roll_n with_o the_o say_a corporation_n of_o the_o say_a part_n and_o proportion_n of_o the_o say_v ninety_o five_o thousand_o acre_n so_o in_o arrear_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v that_o the_o say_a corporation_n shall_v and_o may_v from_o time_n to_o time_n erect_v any_o new_a work_n within_o the_o say_v great_a level_n make_v new_a work_n may_v be_v make_v or_o without_o the_o say_v great_a level_n for_o convey_v the_o water_n of_o the_o say_v great_a level_n by_o convenient_a outfalls_a to_o the_o sea_n so_o always_o that_o if_o they_o cut_v any_o several_a ground_n they_o give_v full_a recompense_n and_o satisfaction_n for_o the_o same_o in_o such_o manner_n as_o shall_v be_v hereafter_o in_o this_o act_n provide_v work_n the_o penalty_n for_o throw_v down_o any_o work_n and_o if_o any_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v cut_v throw_v down_o or_o destroy_v any_o of_o the_o say_a work_n make_v or_o to_o be_v make_v as_o aforesaid_a the_o party_n offend_v shall_v answer_v treble_a damage_n to_o the_o say_a corporation_n and_o cost_v of_o suit_n to_o be_v
