moral_a law_n which_o be_v deliver_v by_o moses_n and_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o precept_n of_o the_o decalogue_n have_v the_o power_n to_o oblige_v the_o conscience_n of_o christian_n it_o will_v peradventure_o be_v not_o worth_a our_o labour_n from_o whence_o it_o do_v obtain_v that_o power_n to_o oblige_v in_o my_o judgement_n they_o speak_v more_o unto_o the_o purpose_n who_o say_v that_o this_o law_n of_o moses_n do_v not_o oblige_v christian_n formal_o and_o as_o it_o be_v deliver_v by_o moses_n but_o only_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o matter_n as_o it_o be_v the_o declarative_n of_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n and_o it_o receive_v therefore_o all_o its_o force_n of_o oblige_v not_o from_o moses_n bring_v or_o deliver_v it_o but_o from_o the_o dictate_v of_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n which_o god_n in_o the_o first_o creation_n do_v inspire_v into_o our_o mind_n and_o after_o the_o fall_n will_v have_v it_o to_o remain_v in_o they_o as_o the_o remembrancer_n of_o his_o will_n and_o this_o may_v suffice_v to_o be_v speak_v of_o the_o old_a law_n or_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n xxxii_o the_o new_a law_n or_o the_o law_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o gospel_n do_v contain_v these_o three_o thing_n 1._o mystery_n of_o faith_n to_o be_v believe_v in_o which_o chapter_n i_o comprehend_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n by_o grace_n 2._o sacred_a institution_n ceremonial_a and_o ecclesiastic_a and_o 3._o the_o moral_a precept_n of_o which_o i_o speak_v and_o universal_o of_o all_o of_o they_o that_o the_o gospel_n oblige_v none_o but_o those_o only_o who_o be_v call_v those_o only_a to_o who_o it_o be_v preach_v for_o where_o there_o be_v no_o law_n there_o can_v be_v no_o transgression_n for_o moraly_a especial_o in_o supernatural_n it_o be_v the_o same_o thing_n non_fw-la esse_fw-la et_fw-la non_fw-la apparere_fw-la not_o to_o be_v and_o not_o to_o appear_v or_o not_o to_o be_v so_o sufficient_o propound_v as_o it_o may_v be_v know_v the_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n be_v express_o to_o this_o sense_n joh._n 15._o 22._o if_o i_o have_v not_o come_v and_o speak_v to_o they_o they_o have_v not_o have_v sin_n that_o be_v they_o have_v not_o be_v guilty_a of_o despise_v the_o gospel_n but_o it_o oblige_v all_o man_n to_o who_o it_o be_v preach_v to_o a_o obedience_n as_o well_o of_o faith_n as_o of_o life_n so_o that_o we_o be_v all_o bind_v to_o who_o the_o gospel_n be_v preach_v both_o to_o believe_v in_o christ_n as_o our_o redeemer_n and_o to_o obey_v he_o as_o our_o lawgiver_n and_o whosoever_o shall_v fail_v in_o the_o performance_n of_o these_o two_o thing_n shall_v suffer_v everlasting_a punishment_n for_o the_o neglect_n of_o his_o duty_n xxxiii_o i_o say_v in_o the_o three_o place_n that_o the_o christian_a church_n be_v oblige_v to_o the_o sacred_a institution_n that_o be_v to_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o word_n the_o administration_n of_o the_o sacrament_n the_o ordination_n of_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o key_n as_o well_o of_o knowledge_n as_o of_o power_n it_o be_v bind_v i_o say_v in_o all_o those_o thing_n which_o pertain_v to_o the_o essence_n of_o they_o according_a to_o the_o institution_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o apostle_n so_o that_o it_o be_v not_o lawful_a for_o the_o church_n much_o less_o for_o any_o particular_a congregation_n or_o person_n either_o willing_o to_o diminish_v or_o to_o change_v any_o thing_n at_o all_o therein_o but_o the_o external_a circumstance_n of_o the_o sacred_a institution_n be_v so_o free_a that_o any_o particular_a church_n may_v determine_v of_o they_o according_a to_o time_n and_o place_n and_o to_o the_o custom_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n and_o as_o it_o shall_v seem_v most_o expedient_a to_o edification_n xxxiv_o in_o the_o three_o place_n i_o affirm_v that_o the_o moral_a precept_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n be_v the_o same_o according_a to_o their_o substance_n with_o the_o moral_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n and_o they_o be_v both_o of_o they_o to_o be_v reduce_v to_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n which_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o ten_o commandment_n as_o omne_fw-la entia_fw-la realia_fw-la all_o real_a being_n be_v reduce_v to_o the_o ten_o predicament_n but_o the_o precept_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o new_a law_n as_o the_o holy_a father_n of_o the_o church_n do_v every_o where_o acknowledge_v be_v in_o many_o thing_n far_o more_o excellent_a than_o the_o precept_n of_o moses_n in_o the_o old_a law_n not_o only_o in_o that_o respect_n that_o they_o be_v propound_v more_o full_o and_o clear_o but_o because_o they_o ascend_v also_o high_o and_o do_v advance_v the_o true_a christian_a to_o a_o more_o eminent_a degree_n of_o perfection_n and_o that_o with_o most_o effectual_a inducement_n on_o both_o side_n the_o past_a example_n of_o christ_n be_v propound_v to_o he_o on_o the_o one_o side_n and_o the_o inestimable_a reward_n to_o come_v in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n on_o the_o other_o and_o this_o most_o clear_o may_v appear_v in_o those_o two_o great_a duty_n of_o a_o christian_n life_n command_v in_o the_o new_a law_n viz._n of_o love_v our_o enemy_n and_o take_v up_o the_o cross_n for_o as_o some_o have_v dream_v these_o be_v not_o so_o only_o to_o be_v esteem_v as_o if_o they_o be_v only_a counsel_n to_o a_o more_o perfect_a life_n propound_v to_o all_o man_n under_o the_o condition_n of_o a_o more_o large_a reward_n and_o oblige_v no_o man_n under_o sin_n and_o punishment_n but_o those_o only_o who_o by_o a_o vow_n have_v oblige_v themselves_o to_o the_o observation_n of_o they_o but_o they_o express_o in_o themselves_o be_v precept_n and_o proper_o so_o call_v and_o universal_o oblige_v to_o the_o observation_n whereof_o all_o those_o who_o profess_v the_o name_n of_o christ_n be_v bind_v under_o the_o guilt_n of_o the_o most_o grievous_a sin_n to_o wit_n the_o abnegation_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o punishment_n of_o eternal_a damnation_n unless_o they_o true_o do_v repent_v and_o thus_o much_o concern_v the_o second_o light_n of_o the_o mind_n xxxv_o the_o three_o remain_v which_o we_o call_v the_o light_n acquire_v which_o sure_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o addition_n or_o increase_n of_o that_o light_n whether_o of_o nature_n or_o revelation_n which_o be_v before_o in_o the_o mind_n to_o some_o more_o eminent_a degree_n of_o clearness_n as_o when_o the_o will_n of_o god_n the_o
