authentic_a among_o the_o moor_n muhamed_a say_v that_o he_o do_v all_o the_o miracle_n abovementioned_a but_o he_o do_v not_o mention_v any_o witness_n that_o see_v any_o one_o of_o they_o do_v concern_v which_o miracle_n there_o may_v be_v great_a argument_n make_v which_o i_o omit_v for_o fear_v of_o be_v too_o tedious_a but_o shall_v leave_v they_o to_o the_o reader_n own_o judgement_n adore_v this_o stone_n before_o he_o be_v a_o profess_a prophet_n but_o also_o kiss_v and_o adore_v it_o after_o he_o be_v a_o public_a prophet_n and_o he_o commannd_v and_o lay_v down_o the_o adore_v and_o kiss_v of_o this_o stone_n for_o a_o article_n of_o his_o law_n and_o faith_n which_o i_o prove_v by_o the_o book_n of_o the_o suné_fw-fr and_o by_o a_o book_n entitle_v aericele_n in_o the_o chapter_n of_o the_o ceremony_n of_o the_o alhage_n or_o pilgrimage_n where_o he_o say_v and_o command_v all_o the_o moor_n which_o go_v a_o pilgrimage_n to_o mecca_n when_o they_o go_v into_o the_o calculation_n of_o time_n according_a to_o the_o lunar_a year_n and_o not_o the_o solar_a and_o call_v the_o twelve_o moon_n of_o the_o year_n each_o by_o a_o particular_a name_n whereof_z 4_o be_v call_v prohibit_v month_n because_o of_o the_o say_v hunt_v forbid_v they_o in_o the_o country_n of_o mecca_n which_o prohibition_n they_o retain_v from_o caydar_n and_o his_o successor_n in_o honour_n to_o the_o say_a idol_n one_o of_o these_o month_n or_o moon_n be_v call_v rajab_n the_o next_o quedda_n the_o three_o hegia_n the_o last_o moharram_n from_o which_o moharram_n they_o begin_v their_o annual_a account_n likewise_o the_o moor_n observe_v the_o fast_a of_o the_o ten_o day_n of_o the_o say_v four_o month_n which_o begin_v the_o year_n on_o which_o day_n the_o idolater_n fast_v in_o reverence_n to_o the_o say_a idol_n the_o which_o i_o prove_v by_o a_o say_n of_o muhamed_a in_o the_o six_o book_n of_o the_o suné_fw-fr where_o he_o say_v that_o the_o coraxiste_n and_o the_o people_n of_o mecca_n fast_v this_o ten_o day_n when_o they_o be_v idolater_n and_o the_o word_n in_o arabic_a be_v these_o oqua_n quenet_n etc._n etc._n likewise_o the_o moor_n observe_v the_o go_n muhamed_a not_o only_o commit_v a_o error_n in_o read_v and_o say_v these_o word_n but_o also_o prostrate_v himself_o on_o the_o ground_n and_o divers_a moor_n with_o he_o but_o some_o of_o the_o moor_n do_v not_o prostrate_v themselves_o but_o tell_v mahume_v that_o he_o have_v commit_v a_o error_n in_o read_v so_o and_o prostrate_v himself_o and_o when_o muhamed_a perceive_v his_o error_n he_o answer_v they_o say_v that_o the_o devil_n make_v he_o mistake_v and_o have_v take_v away_o the_o good_a word_n of_o the_o alcoran_n and_o insert_v the_o word_n which_o he_o have_v speak_v and_o that_o through_o the_o deceit_n of_o the_o devil_n he_o have_v err_v in_o read_v so_o and_o in_o prostrate_v himself_o the_o which_o divers_a of_o the_o moor_n take_v notice_n of_o and_o be_v offend_v with_o it_o turn_v to_o their_o former_a sect_n and_o way_n of_o worship_n thus_o muhamed_a be_v not_o free_a from_o temptation_n though_o he_o give_v out_o that_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n take_v the_o black_a coat_n out_o of_o his_o heart_n wherefore_o o_o moor_n you_o must_v acknowledge_v that_o that_o be_v not_o true_a which_o muhamed_a say_v in_o the_o first_o chapter_n that_o the_o angel_n lance_v his_o breast_n and_o take_v forth_o his_o heart_n and_o cut_v out_o the_o black_a coat_n or_o filthy_a matter_n to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o may_v not_o be_v tempt_v of_o the_o devil_n at_o and_o doctor_n of_o their_o law_n and_o i_o tell_v it_o thou_o o_o moor_n that_o thou_o may_v know_v it_o if_o thou_o desire_v the_o salvation_n of_o thy_o soul_n and_o that_o thou_o may_v acknowledge_v the_o truth_n and_o follow_v it_o there_o be_v another_o thing_n also_o at_o which_o the_o moor_n be_v offend_v viz._n when_o muhamed_a take_v away_o his_o servant_n zeidin_n wife_n whereof_o we_o make_v mention_v above_o which_o act_n be_v very_o dishonest_a villainous_a and_o scandalous_a especial_o in_o such_o a_o one_o as_o muhamed_a who_o think_v himself_o a_o prophet_n and_o the_o most_o perfect_a messenger_n that_o ever_o come_v into_o the_o world_n muhamed_a have_v at_o that_o time_n nine_o wife_n and_o his_o servant_n only_a one_o the_o which_o muhamed_a take_v from_o he_o and_o add_v to_o his_o other_o nine_o and_o so_o his_o servant_n zeiden_n remain_v wifeless_a and_o this_o act_n happen_v in_o this_o manner_n muhamed_a know_v that_o his_o servant_n zeiden_n have_v a_o fair_a wife_n and_o she_o be_v muhamed_n kinswoman_n one_o day_n muhamed_a go_v to_o zeidens_n house_n to_o visit_v she_o and_o have_v see_v she_o tell_v she_o that_o when_o her_o husband_n zeiden_n come_v home_o she_o shall_v tell_v he_o that_o the_o prophet_n muhamed_a have_v be_v there_o and_o have_v see_v a_o good_a table_n good_a a_o lobster_n or_o crab_n it_o be_v a_o arabic_a proverb_n as_o we_o say_v he_o find_v a_o dainty_a dish_n for_o his_o own_o table_n crab_n for_o his_o door_n these_o very_a word_n be_v write_v in_o arabic_a in_o the_o book_n azar_n and_o do_v import_v that_o zeiden_n have_v choose_v a_o good_a and_o fair_a wife_n for_o he_o when_o zeiden_n come_v home_o his_o wife_n relate_v unto_o he_o how_o muhamed_a have_v be_v there_o and_o have_v say_v these_o word_n unto_o she_o which_o she_o can_v not_o understand_v but_o zeiden_n present_o tell_v she_o the_o meaning_n of_o they_o say_v that_o she_o be_v the_o crab_n and_o the_o door_n be_v a_o house_n and_o signify_v the_o master_n of_o the_o house_n at_o last_o zeiden_n tell_v his_o wife_n that_o muhamed_a will_v have_v speak_v with_o he_o for_o no_o end_n but_o to_o command_v he_o to_o put_v away_o his_o wife_n that_o he_o may_v have_v she_o now_o tell_v i_o o_o moor_n what_o mean_v muhame_v by_o those_o word_n and_o whether_o be_v they_o the_o word_n of_o a_o prophet_n and_o holy_a man_n and_o what_o be_v his_o intent_n and_o what_o opinion_n have_v zeiden_n of_o muhamed_a when_o he_o present_o conjecture_v and_o tell_v his_o wife_n what_o muhamed_a will_v do_v and_o when_o zeiden_n go_v to_o mahumed_n house_n and_o ask_v what_o his_o pleasure_n be_v mahume_v answer_v he_o that_o he_o must_v repudiate_v his_o wife_n because_o he_o will_v have_v she_o himself_o and_o hereupon_o zeiden_n go_v home_o and_o relate_v the_o whole_a matter_n to_o his_o wife_n and_o after_o many_o tear_n and_o lamentation_n on_o both_o side_n the_o marry_a couple_n part_v and_o the_o very_a same_o day_n muhamed_a marry_v she_o for_o which_o act_n the_o moor_n be_v offend_v and_o murmur_v say_v that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o act_n or_o deed_n of_o a_o prophet_n nor_o of_o a_o holy_a man_n and_o although_o thereupon_o muhamed_a be_v much_o ashamed_a yet_o he_o quick_o run_v to_o his_o remedy_n and_o make_v and_o compose_v certain_a verse_n of_o the_o alcoran_n and_o cause_v his_o secretary_n to_o write_v they_o and_o present_o give_v they_o unto_o the_o moor_n to_o read_v the_o which_o verse_n be_v in_o the_o 17_o chapter_n of_o the_o three_o book_n and_o run_v thus_o shall_v give_v every_o one_o of_o they_o to_o drink_v of_o the_o water_n of_o that_o fountain_n and_o those_o that_o drink_v of_o this_o fonntaine_n he_o say_v shall_v never_o thirst_v in_o the_o say_a book_n of_o flower_n muhamed_a say_v that_o the_o water_n of_o this_o fountain_n be_v white_a than_o milk_n and_o sweet_a than_o honey_n and_o the_o bucket_n bowl_n and_o glass_n of_o this_o fountain_n be_v as_o many_o in_o number_n as_o the_o star_n of_o heaven_n now_o i_o will_v speak_v to_o thou_o o_o moor_n and_o say_v something_o upon_o this_o glory_n which_o you_o moores_n be_v to_o enjoy_v in_o the_o other_o world_n and_o although_o i_o be_o weary_a and_o trouble_v with_o write_v so_o many_o gullerye_n and_o thing_n against_o reason_n and_o all_o law_n nevertheless_o i_o will_v speak_v of_o two_o thing_n which_o i_o find_v want_v in_o your_o paradise_n and_o in_o all_o the_o glory_n aforesaid_a the_o first_o defect_n be_v that_o whereas_o the_o alcoran_n and_o the_o suné_n hold_v forth_o such_o and_o so_o great_a paradise_n so_o stately_a build_v and_o so_o rich_o adorn_v they_o make_v no_o mention_n of_o easement_n and_o that_o they_o be_v also_o magnificent_o build_v especial_o have_v speak_v of_o so_o much_o eat_v and_o of_o so_o much_o drink_v viz._n of_o honey_n milk_n claret_n and_o hippocras_n the_o second_o defect_n be_v that_o he_o make_v no_o mention_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o woman_n for_o whereas_o the_o alcoran_n and_o the_o suné_n have_v promise_v that_o the_o man_n shall_v have_v chaste_a virgin_n with_o who_o they_o shall_v sport_v and_o take_v their_o pleasure_n as_o aforesaid_a they_o ought_v in_o like_a manner_n to_o have_v mention_v the_o woman_n and_o to_o have_v give_v they_o eternal_a servant_n to_o have_v take_v their_o pleasure_n with_o they_o and_o then_o the_o woman_n will_v also_o have_v have_v eternal_a glory_n but_o tell_v i_o o_o moor_n what_o will_v the_o woman_n who_o shall_v be_v at_o this_o feast_n say_v and_o do_v when_o they_o shall_v see_v themselves_o comfortless_a and_o when_o they_o shall_v see_v their_o husband_n which_o they_o have_v in_o this_o world_n sport_v with_o and_o embrace_v their_o virgin_n the_o space_n of_o 50_o year_n which_o he_o say_v they_o shall_v remain_v embrace_v sport_v and_o take_v their_o pleasure_n therefore_o o_o moor_n i_o say_v that_o the_o woman_n glory_n will_v be_v turn_v into_o punishment_n and_o sorrow_n especial_o when_o each_o of_o the_o man_n shall_v take_v his_o virgin_n and_o shall_v go_v away_o with_o she_o to_o his_o mansion_n or_o fortress_n and_o the_o woman_n shall_v be_v leave_v alone_o and_o comfortless_o like_o widow_n so_o that_o o_o moor_n consider_v all_o this_o above_o thou_o may_v conclude_v that_o this_o be_v not_o a_o thing_n of_o god_n nor_o of_o a_o prophet_n and_o messenger_n send_v from_o god_n and_o thou_o will_v know_v that_o it_o be_v all_o as_o solomon_n say_v vanity_n of_o vanity_n and_o all_o vanity_n and_o here_o i_o will_v conclude_v this_o nine_o chapter_n chap._n x._o the_o ten_o chapter_n show_v how_o the_o alcoran_n contradict_v itself_o in_o divers_a place_n and_o trcate_v of_o divers_a thing_n in_o the_o alcoran_n which_o be_v unseemly_a and_o superfluous_a likewise_o of_o some_o miracle_n which_o muhamed_a say_v he_o do_v although_o they_o rather_o resemble_v gull_n than_o miracle_n the_o alcoran_n in_o the_o first_o chapter_n of_o the_o first_o book_n in_o the_o first_o chapter_n of_o the_o second_o book_n and_o in_o the_o first_o chapter_n of_o the_o four_o book_n say_v that_o god_n curse_v the_o devil_n and_o expel_v he_o from_o the_o glory_n of_o paradise_n and_o cast_v he_o into_o the_o bottomless_a pit_n for_o ever_o likewise_o in_o the_o aforequoted_a chapter_n it_o say_v that_o the_o devil_n tell_v god_n that_o he_o will_v always_o be_v man_n mortal_a enemy_n and_o will_v always_o tempt_v man_n and_o torment_v they_o furthermore_o the_o alcoran_n in_o divers_a place_n admonish_v man_n say_v that_o the_o devil_n be_v man_n apparent_a enemy_n all_o which_o be_v notorious_a and_o manifest_a in_o the_o alcoran_n and_o after_o all_o this_o the_o alcoran_n say_v that_o the_o devil_n shall_v hear_v the_o alcoran_n and_o shall_v become_v the_o friend_n of_o muhamed_a of_o man_n and_o of_o god_n and_o that_o god_n will_v pardon_v their_o sin_n and_o promise_v they_o the_o glory_n of_o heaven_n as_o appear_v by_o the_o chapter_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o of_o caf_n and_o of_o the_o glorious_a in_o the_o four_o book_n furthermore_o the_o alcoran_n contradict_v itself_o when_o he_o say_v in_o the_o first_o chapter_n of_o the_o first_o book_n that_o it_o be_v give_v in_o the_o month_n of_o ramadan_n and_o in_o the_o chapter_n of_o smoke_n and_o in_o the_o chapter_n of_o the_o holy_a night_n in_o the_o four_o book_n he_o say_v that_o the_o alcocan_n be_v give_v in_o one_o night_n both_o which_o the_o course_n of_o above_o twenty_o years-time_n contradict_v during_o which_o muhamed_a be_v make_v the_o alcoran_n viz._n ten_o year_n in_o mecca_n and_o 13_o year_n in_o medina_n which_o appear_v by_o the_o title_n of_o year_n of_o any_o of_o those_o chapter_n make_v at_o medina_n and_o the_o chapter_n which_o be_v make_v at_o mecca_n be_v not_o make_v at_o medina_n wherefore_o i_o conclude_v that_o the_o alcoran_n be_v twenty_o three_o year_n in_o compose_v and_o do_v not_o descend_v in_o one_o night_n nor_o in_o one_o month_n as_o the_o alcoran_n say_v furthermore_o by_o the_o alcoran_n itself_o it_o appear_v that_o it_o be_v not_o inspire_v in_o one_o night_n nor_o in_o one_o month_n by_o the_o chapter_n and_o verse_n which_o be_v make_v upon_o several_a occasion_n as_o upon_o action_n offence_n and_o upon_o controversy_n &_o difference_n between_o muhamed_a and_o his_o wife_n and_o by_o the_o diversity_n of_o commandment_n and_o by_o the_o alteration_n which_o we_o have_v show_v above_o which_o act_n and_o occurrence_n happen_v during_o the_o thirteen_o year_n which_o muhame_v dwell_v at_o medina_n and_o there_o be_v no_o mention_n make_v of_o they_o at_o mecca_n during_o the_o first_o ten_o year_n that_o he_o dwell_v there_o how_o be_v it_o then_o o_o moor_n that_o thou_o say_v the_o alcoran_n descend_v in_o a_o night_n or_o in_o a_o month_n and_o if_o we_o shall_v say_v it_o be_v true_a that_o the_o alcoran_n descend_v in_o a_o night_n or_o in_o a_o month_n than_o i_o will_v have_v thou_o tell_v i_o o_o moor_n where_o be_v this_o night_n or_o this_o month_n whether_o it_o be_v at_o medina_n or_o at_o mecca_n if_o thou_o say_v that_o it_o be_v at_o mecca_n than_o i_o answer_v that_o those_o chapter_n which_o be_v make_v at_o medina_n be_v not_o to_o be_v repute_v or_o judge_v but_o when_o he_o turn_v his_o face_n that_o way_n he_o can_v hear_v nothing_o all_o which_o muhame_v every_o night_n tell_v his_o wife_n gadisa_n but_o she_o tell_v he_o it_o be_v nothing_o but_o diabolical_a delusion_n and_o hereby_o he_o become_v distract_v and_o lose_v his_o sense_n and_o this_o fury_n and_o revishment_n of_o mind_n follow_v he_o so_o long_o that_o one_o day_n the_o say_a book_n say_v he_o resolve_v to_o go_v to_o the_o precipice_n of_o a_o mountain_n and_o desperate_o to_o cast_v himself_o headlong_o say_v that_o it_o be_v better_a to_o die_v than_o to_o be_v repute_v to_o cover_v he_o well_o as_o they_o do_v and_o lay_v divers_a coverlid_n upon_o he_o and_o the_o say_a book_n azar_n relate_v that_o as_o muhamed_a lay_n thus_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n come_v to_o he_o with_o the_o second_o chapter_n of_o the_o alcoran_n which_o be_v in_o arabic_a thus_o oya_n aynhe_v at_o etc._n etc._n i._n e._n arise_v o_o thou_o that_o be_v cover_v exalt_v and_o magnify_v night_n much_o trouble_v at_o the_o angell_n absence_n then_o say_v azar_n at_o the_o dawn_n of_o the_o day_n the_o angel_n come_v with_o the_o three_o chapter_n say_v in_o arabic_a o_o guadoha_fw-mi gualleyli_fw-la etc._n etc._n i.e._n god_n swear_v to_o muhamed_a by_o the_o dawn_n which_o bring_v the_o day_n and_o by_o the_o night_n which_o give_v darkness_n that_o his_o creator_n have_v not_o forget_v he_o neither_o will_v he_o forget_v what_o he_o have_v promise_v he_o with_o which_o chapter_n muhame_v recover_v his_o strength_n and_o call_v his_o wife_n read_v this_o chapter_n to_o she_o but_o she_o tell_v he_o again_o that_o she_o will_v believe_v nothing_o till_o she_o see_v the_o angel_n with_o her_o own_o eye_n and_o muhamed_a tell_v she_o she_o can_v not_o see_v the_o angel_n the_o first_o beast_n that_o shall_v go_v into_o paradise_n whence_o it_o appear_v o_o moor_n according_a to_o what_o the_o suné_n affirm_v that_o beast_n shall_v go_v into_o paradise_n the_o which_o be_v contrary_a to_o truth_n and_o against_o reason_n one_o thing_n i_o will_v say_v o_o moor_n in_o this_o place_n concern_v the_o ram_n which_o abraham_n sacrifice_v which_o be_v feed_v and_o pasture_v forty_o year_n in_o paradise_n viz_o that_o thou_o shall_v give_v i_o a_o arithmetical_a account_n how_o many_o thousand_o trickle_v do_v that_o ram_n cast_v in_o paradise_n during_o those_o forty_o year_n the_o which_o you_o may_v find_v by_o the_o rule_n of_o multiplication_n what_o think_v thou_o now_o o_o moor_n of_o such_o and_o so_o great_a a_o foolery_n and_o a_o thing_n so_o worthy_a of_o laughter_n in_o brief_a all_o that_o the_o moor_n believe_v and_o hold_v be_v corporeal_a and_o terrene_a and_o not_o spiritual_a aswell_o in_o respect_n of_o this_o mundane_a life_n and_o conversation_n as_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o glory_n which_o we_o be_v to_o have_v in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v and_o in_o muhamed_n law_n or_o religion_n it_o be_v not_o sufficient_a to_o say_v that_o man_n eat_v and_o drink_v in_o paradise_n but_o he_o come_v to_o the_o impudence_n as_o to_o say_v that_o bruit_n beast_n go_v eat_v and_o drink_v in_o paradise_n and_o so_o i_o conclude_v that_o the_o law_n the_o prophet_n and_o scripture_n which_o treat_v and_o speak_v of_o such_o
with_o the_o prophet_n for_o the_o same_o the_o glosser_n say_v that_o muhamed_a for_o his_o great_a justification_n and_o for_o fear_n lest_o the_o moor_n shall_v be_v further_o offend_v bid_v his_o servant_n zeiden_n to_o take_v his_o wife_n again_o the_o comentator_n say_v that_o god_n say_v to_o he_o muhame_v through_o fear_n of_o man_n say_v one_o thing_n with_o his_o lip_n but_o conceal_v in_o his_o heart_n the_o love_n he_o bear_v to_o this_o woman_n wherefore_o i_o god_n command_n and_o be_o content_a that_o thou_o marry_v she_o since_o her_o husband_n have_v have_v his_o pleasure_n before_o and_o by_o the_o book_n of_o azar_n which_o relate_v all_o this_o at_o large_a now_o tell_v i_o o_o moor_n in_o what_o law_n or_o commandment_n do_v we_o read_v that_o a_o marry_a man_n shall_v love_v another_o man_n wife_n and_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o take_v she_o from_o her_o husband_n nay_o first_o tell_v i_o how_o do_v mahume_v understand_v the_o ten_o commandment_n which_o god_n give_v unto_o moses_n in_o mount_n sinai_n which_o say_v thou_o shall_v not_o covet_v another_o wife_n which_o commandment_n muhamed_a in_o his_o law_n have_v command_v to_o be_v observe_v and_o which_o say_v that_o god_n know_v the_o love_n and_o affection_n which_o muhamed_a bear_v in_o his_o heart_n to_o this_o woman_n though_o he_o conceal_v it_o and_o for_o fear_n of_o man_n make_v show_v otherwise_o for_o thou_o may_v well_o know_v that_o he_o that_o do_v such_o thing_n be_v not_o neither_o can_v be_v a_o prophet_n nor_o a_o messenger_n of_o god_n nor_o a_o legislator_n or_o lawgiver_n chap._n vii_o the_o seven_o chapter_n treat_v of_o muhamed_n wife_n and_o virgin_n and_o how_o many_o proffer_a themselves_o to_o he_o without_o contract_n of_o marriage_n by_o a_o special_a law_n which_o he_o make_v for_o himself_o and_o of_o the_o jar_n difference_n dissension_n and_o offence_n which_o happen_v betwixt_o muhamed_a and_o his_o wife_n and_o slave_n i_o say_v and_o prove_v by_o the_o book_n of_o azar_n that_o muhame_v marry_v fifteen_o wife_n and_o have_v eleven_o wife_n together_o beside_o slave_n and_o of_o all_o his_o wife_n have_v but_o two_o virgin_n and_o have_v also_o four_o wife_n who_o proffer_a themselves_o to_o he_o by_o virtue_n of_o the_o say_v special_a law_n and_o o_o moor_n if_o thou_o do_v not_o know_v that_o muhamed_a have_v nine_o wife_n together_o i_o prove_v it_o by_o a_o book_n call_v assamiel_n which_o be_v the_o book_n of_o the_o good_a custom_n of_o muhamed_a where_o praise_v muhamed_a and_o speak_v of_o his_o virill_a strength_n it_o say_v that_o in_o one_o hour_n muhamed_a lie_v with_o all_o his_o wife_n which_o be_v eleven_o the_o word_n of_o the_o say_a book_n assaniel_n be_v in_o arabic_a thus_o o_o guamin_n etc._n etc._n which_o text_n may_v well_o have_v be_v omit_v and_o better_o have_v be_v silent_a of_o such_o thing_n than_o to_o publish_v they_o for_o it_o be_v unseemly_a to_o make_v a_o virtue_n of_o vice_n and_o to_o apply_v carnal_a and_o luxurious_a thing_n to_o sanctity_n and_o good_a custom_n and_o to_o say_v that_o god_n be_v please_v &_o serve_v with_o such_o baseness_n as_o which_o we_o have_v already_o show_v and_o shall_v further_o show_v in_o this_o chapter_n and_o i_o further_o prove_v it_o by_o the_o say_a book_n azar_n and_o by_o a_o book_n call_v almazhedi_n which_o say_v that_o when_o muhamed_a die_v his_o nine_o wife_n be_v present_a which_o nine_o wife_n continue_v widow_n and_o so_o die_v by_o a_o special_a law_n which_o muhame_v make_v for_o himself_o as_o shall_v hereafter_o appear_v and_o the_o four_o present_v wife_n which_o muhamed_a have_v he_o get_v they_o by_o a_o particular_a and_o special_a law_n which_o he_o make_v for_o himself_o for_o you_o must_v know_v that_o muhamed_a make_v two_o law_n one_o general_a law_n for_o all_o the_o moor_n and_o himself_o and_o another_o law_n for_o himself_o in_o particular_a which_o law_n he_o make_v in_o four_o case_n the_o first_o command_v that_o no_o moor_n shall_v take_v or_o marry_v any_o of_o his_o wife_n whether_o repudiate_v or_o widow_n by_o which_o law_n his_o say_v nine_o wife_n remain_v widow_n and_o never_o marry_v again_o the_o second_o special_a law_n be_v for_o the_o proffer_a wife_n where_o he_o command_v in_o the_o 17_o chapter_n of_o the_o three_o book_n that_o what_o wife_n soever_o will_v proffer_n herself_o to_o the_o prophet_n muhamed_a he_o may_v take_v she_o and_o be_v marry_v to_o she_o without_o any_o contract_n of_o marriage_n and_o this_o be_v only_o permit_v to_o he_o and_o not_o to_o any_o other_o moor_n the_o three_o special_a law_n be_v that_o whereas_o there_o be_v a_o general_a law_n and_o commandment_n in_o the_o 3._o chapter_n of_o the_o first_o book_n of_o the_o alcoran_n that_o every_o moor_n may_v marry_v one_o two_o three_o or_o four_o wife_n and_o no_o more_o muhamed_a except_v himself_o and_o have_v power_n to_o marry_v as_o many_o wife_n as_o he_o will_v in_o the_o 17_o chapter_n of_o the_o three_o book_n the_o four_o particular_a law_n be_v concern_v equality_n among_o wife_n which_o the_o morish_a law_n require_v of_o every_o moor_n that_o have_v two_o three_o or_o four_o wife_n aswell_o at_o board_n government_n as_o at_o bed_n and_o if_o the_o husband_n do_v otherwise_o the_o wife_n which_o find_v themselves_o aggrieve_v may_v warn_v and_o summon_v he_o before_o the_o judge_n except_o muhamed_a who_o be_v not_o bind_v to_o observe_v this_o law_n neither_o do_v it_o extend_v to_o he_o as_o you_o may_v see_v in_o the_o 17_o chapter_n of_o the_o three_o book_n where_o muhamed_a terrify_v his_o wife_n say_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v content_a with_o whatsoever_o muhamed_a will_v give_v they_o and_o whensoever_o and_o with_o whichsoever_o of_o they_o he_o will_v please_v to_o bed_n take_v his_o pleasure_n and_o depart_v and_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v content_a with_o every_o thing_n and_o shall_v not_o take_v condition_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v content_a with_o all_o thing_n and_o shall_v be_v quiet_a and_o not_o sorrowful_a at_o all_o for_o thy_o do_n the_o moor_n read_v all_o this_o text_n but_o understand_v it_o not_o for_o do_v they_o understand_v it_o they_o will_v not_o continue_v moores_n and_o musselman_n now_o speak_v o_o moor_n thou_o reader_n of_o the_o alcoran_n how_o often_o have_v thou_o read_v this_o and_o delight_v thyself_o with_o the_o sweet_a sound_n of_o the_o word_n and_o have_v not_o think_v or_o conceive_v what_o the_o word_n mean_v therefore_o hence_o forth_o observe_v and_o read_v and_o consider_v what_o thou_o read_v and_o thou_o will_v find_v many_o thing_n without_o reason_n and_o justice_n and_o thus_o you_o must_v understand_v that_o this_o four_o special_a law_n and_o the_o verse_n aforesaid_a be_v make_v by_o reason_n of_o certain_a gentlewoman_n muhameds_n repudiate_v wife_n who_o be_v not_o so_o well_o govern_v as_o the_o rest_n but_o complain_v to_o muhamed_a entreat_v he_o to_o regard_n god_n and_o his_o conscience_n and_o to_o make_v they_o equal_a to_o his_o other_o wife_n and_o see_v they_o also_o be_v his_o wife_n that_o they_o may_v not_o be_v neglect_v unto_o who_o he_o answer_v with_o the_o verse_n above_o say_v that_o god_n will_v have_v it_o so_o and_o that_o for_o his_o part_n he_o be_v not_o to_o follow_v the_o moor_n in_o the_o matter_n of_o equality_n and_o they_o have_v understand_v and_o hear_v the_o verse_n and_o that_o god_n have_v send_v they_o to_o he_o because_o of_o they_o they_o be_v content_a to_o take_v all_o thing_n patient_o but_o nevertheless_o they_o all_o say_v
man_n in_o the_o world_n but_o he_o be_v ever_o worthy_a be_v divine_a name_n and_o such_o as_o be_v the_o name_n and_o the_o dignity_n of_o jesus_n christ_n such_o be_v his_o life_n his_o word_n his_o work_n and_o his_o counsel_n and_o likewise_o thou_o will_v find_v the_o evangelist_n so_o full_a of_o such_o great_a and_o manifest_a miracle_n and_o pious_a work_n which_o jesus_n christ_n do_v in_o his_o life_n and_o of_o so_o good_a and_o holy_a doctrine_n which_o his_o disciple_n teach_v after_o he_o that_o there_o can_v possible_o be_v better_a and_o o_o moor_n by_o make_v this_o comparison_n thou_o will_v see_v what_o difference_n there_o be_v between_o muhamed_a and_o our_o redeemer_n jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o scripture_n of_o either_o and_o so_o thou_o will_v come_v to_o know_v the_o truth_n chap._n viii_o the_o eight_o chapter_n treat_v of_o muhamed_n dream_n and_o the_o vision_n which_o he_o say_v he_o have_v when_o he_o ascend_v to_o heaven_n by_o a_o ladder_n salute_v he_o say_v to_o he_o o_o muhamed_a god_n send_v thou_o much_o greeting_n and_o command_v thou_o to_o come_v along_o with_o i_o this_o night_n for_o to_o see_v divers_a secret_n which_o the_o son_n of_o man_n never_o see_v and_o muhamed_a answer_v he_o that_o he_o be_v glad_a of_o that_o and_o be_v very_o willing_a to_o go_v whereunto_o the_o angel_n reply_v o_o muhamed_a then_o get_v up_o upon_o alborack_n but_o alborack_n turn_v aside_o and_o will_v not_o let_v muhame_v get_v up_o on_o he_o and_o the_o angel_n say_v to_o alborack_n why_o turn_v thou_o aside_o and_o will_v not_o let_v muhamed_a ride_v upon_o thou_o know_v thou_o that_o never_o better_a man_n than_o muhamed_a have_v ever_o ride_v upon_o thou_o nor_o ever_o shall_v alborack_n answer_v i_o will_v never_o yield_v that_o muhamed_a get_v upon_o i_o unless_o he_o first_o promise_v i_o that_o i_o shall_v go_v into_o paradise_n then_o muhamed_a say_v o_o alborack_n i_o promise_v thou_o that_o thou_o shall_v be_v the_o first_o beast_n that_o shall_v enter_v into_o paradise_n and_o no_o soon_o have_v muhame_v say_v these_o word_n but_o alborack_n present_o consent_v and_o muhamed_a get_v upon_o he_o and_o the_o angel_n lead_v alborack_n by_o the_o reins_n of_o his_o bridle_n and_o so_o they_o travel_v till_o they_o come_v to_o the_o holy_a temple_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o the_o say_a book_n azar_n say_v that_o as_o muhamed_a be_v ride_v on_o his_o way_n he_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o a_o woman_n who_o cry_v after_o he_o o_o muhamed_a muhamed_a and_o the_o angel_n say_v to_o he_o o_o muhamed_a do_v not_o answer_v this_o woman_n and_o go_v far_o another_o woman_n begin_v to_o cry_v after_o he_o and_o call_v o_o muhamed_a muhamed_a and_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n again_o admonish_v he_o not_o to_o answer_v she_o and_o as_o they_o go_v far_o on_o muhamed_a entreat_v the_o angel_n to_o tell_v he_o who_o those_o woman_n be_v and_o gabriel_n tell_v he_o that_o the_o first_o be_v she_o that_o publish_v the_o law_n of_o the_o jew_n and_o if_o he_o have_v answer_v she_o all_o the_o moor_n will_v have_v turn_v jew_n and_o the_o other_o he_o say_v be_v she_o that_o publish_v the_o law_n of_o the_o christian_n and_o that_o if_o he_o have_v answer_v she_o all_o the_o moor_n will_v have_v become_v christian_n the_o say_a book_n azar_n further_a report_v that_o muhamed_a say_v that_o when_o he_o be_v arrive_v at_o the_o temple_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o be_v come_v near_o to_o the_o gate_n of_o the_o temple_n he_o alight_v off_o from_o alborack_n and_o gabriel_n and_o muhamed_a go_v together_o to_o the_o temple_n and_o as_o they_o go_v they_o meet_v all_o the_o prophet_n and_o messenger_n who_o be_v also_o purposely_o come_v thither_o and_o they_o all_o come_v forth_o of_o the_o temple_n and_o receive_v muhamed_a and_o greet_v he_o say_v thus_o in_o arabic_a o_o marhaben_n birazuli_fw-la azadih_o guanabyi_fw-la alquerin_fw-mi i._n e._n rejoice_v thou_o true_a messenger_n and_o honourable_a prophet_n and_o then_o they_o all_o carry_v he_o in_o procession_n with_o great_a honour_n unto_o the_o great_a chapel_n which_o be_v call_v in_o arabic_a mihrab_n and_o request_v he_o to_o make_v a_o zala_fw-mi or_o prayer_n for_o they_o all_o and_o thereupon_o muhamed_a go_v into_o the_o mihrab_n or_o chapel_n and_o make_v the_o zala_n with_o all_o the_o prophet_n and_o messenger_n and_o they_o all_o make_v application_n to_o muhamed_a that_o he_o will_v remember_v they_o when_o he_o shall_v speak_v with_o god_n and_o so_o they_o all_o depart_v and_o muhamed_a and_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n be_v leave_v there_o alone_o then_o they_o two_o go_v out_o of_o the_o gate_n of_o the_o temple_n &_o there_o find_v a_o ladder_n which_o reach_v from_o earth_n to_o heaven_n all_o make_v of_o the_o light_n of_o god_n and_o so_o they_o begin_v to_o ascend_v the_o say_a ladder_n the_o angel_n first_o and_o muhamed_a after_o he_o hold_v by_o the_o angell_n hand_n till_o they_o arrive_v at_o the_o first_o heaven_n which_o heaven_n muhamed_a say_v be_v make_v of_o pure_a silver_n and_o there_o they_o see_v the_o star_n hang_v on_o this_o first_o heaven_n with_o chain_n of_o gold_n and_o the_o big_a of_o they_o be_v as_o big_a as_o the_o mountain_n noho_n which_o be_v a_o mountain_n near_o to_o almedina_n and_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n knock_v at_o heaven_n gate_n and_o the_o porter_n ask_v who_o be_v thou_o and_o he_o answer_v i_o be_o the_o angel_n gabriel_n and_o muhamed_a the_o prophet_n and_o friend_n of_o god_n be_v with_o i_o and_o as_o soon_o as_o the_o porter_n hear_v muhamed_n name_n he_o open_v the_o gate_n of_o the_o first_o heaven_n and_o they_o go_v in_o and_o find_v a_o ancient_a hoary-headed_a man_n which_o be_v adam_n and_o adam_n come_v angel_n in_o this_o first_o heaven_n of_o divers_a shape_n and_o figure_n viz._n of_o man_n ox_n horse_n fly_v bird_n and_o cock_n and_o among_o the_o cock_n he_o say_v there_o be_v one_o who_o foot_n stand_v on_o the_o first_o heaven_n and_o his_o head_n reach_v to_o the_o second_o muhamed_a ask_v the_o angel_n what_o it_o be_v and_o why_o the_o angel_n have_v so_o many_o form_n and_o shape_n and_o what_o their_o figure_n signify_v unto_o who_o the_o angel_n answer_v and_o say_v that_o all_o these_o angel_n pray_v to_o god_n for_o the_o inhabitant_n and_o dweller_n on_o the_o earth_n viz._n the_o angel_n which_o have_v the_o form_n of_o man_n pray_v for_o man_n they_o which_o have_v the_o form_n and_o shape_n of_o ox_n pray_v for_o ox_n and_o so_o of_o the_o rest_n and_o they_o which_o have_v the_o form_n of_o cock_n pray_v and_o mediate_v for_o the_o cock_n then_o say_v muhamed_a now_o tell_v i_o what_o mean_v that_o great_a cock_n the_o angel_n answer_v when_o this_o cock_n crow_v all_o the_o cock_n here_o of_o his_o shape_n crow_v present_o and_o when_o the_o cock_n on_o earth_n hear_v the_o cock_n of_o heaven_n crow_n than_o they_o
etc._n etc._n i._n e._n that_o god_n have_v forbid_v the_o moor_n that_o which_o be_v murrain_n blood_n swine_n that_o which_o be_v offer_v to_o idol_n and_o that_o which_o have_v be_v strangle_v that_o which_o die_v by_o the_o thrust_n of_o a_o horn_n or_o by_o a_o casualty_n and_o also_o wild_a beast_n &c_n &c_n he_o forbid_v all_o these_o thing_n in_o the_o say_a chapter_n the_o which_o say_v that_o god_n will_v here_o teach_v you_o how_o you_o shall_v use_v your_o wife_n which_o be_v not_o a_o reasonable_a excuse_n for_o we_o do_v not_o read_v that_o god_n teach_v adam_n which_o way_n he_o shall_v lie_v with_o his_o wife_n though_o they_o be_v the_o first_o marry_v couple_n in_o the_o world_n therefore_o i_o say_v that_o this_o verse_n be_v superfluous_a and_o base_a and_o place_n where_o he_o may_v not_o be_v see_v of_o man_n or_o beast_n and_o if_o such_o modesty_n or_o bashfulness_n be_v find_v among_o bruit_n beast_n how_o much_o more_o ought_v it_o to_o be_v use_v among_o man_n likewise_o the_o alcoran_n set_v down_o another_o filthiness_n and_o baseness_n say_v in_o the_o first_o chapter_n of_o the_o first_o book_n that_o the_o moor_n who_o repudiat_n and_o put_v away_o his_o wife_n once_o yea_o twice_o may_v take_v she_o again_o if_o the_o party_n be_v agree_v but_o if_o he_o put_v she_o away_o the_o three_o time_n he_o can_v take_v she_o again_o until_o she_o have_v know_v another_o husband_n now_o tell_v i_o o_o moor_n if_o thou_o regard_v god_n what_o avail_v it_o this_o woman_n that_o the_o first_o and_o second_o time_n she_o must_v only_o return_v to_o her_o husband_n and_o that_o the_o three_o time_n she_o may_v not_o return_v until_o she_o have_v lyen_fw-we with_o another_o husband_n for_o it_o seem_v to_o be_v very_o void_a of_o reason_n and_o be_v a_o immodest_a and_o a_o very_a superfluous_a expression_n and_o it_o do_v not_o become_v god_n or_o a_o prophet_n to_o speak_v of_o such_o thing_n this_o be_v what_o he_o say_v in_o the_o first_o chapter_n of_o the_o first_o book_n the_o word_n be_v in_o arabic_a thus_o o_o attalcaco_n etc._n etc._n i._n e._n that_o a_o woman_n repudiate_v once_o or_o twice_o may_v return_v to_o her_o husband_n but_o if_o she_o be_v repudiate_v the_o three_o time_n she_o can_v return_v to_o her_o former_a husband_n until_o another_o husband_n have_v have_v to_o do_v with_o she_o aluza_n abovementioned_a which_o be_v erect_v in_o the_o say_a tower_n alkibla_n towards_o which_o tower_n all_o moor_n turn_v their_o face_n when_o they_o make_v their_o zala_n i.e._n prayer_n and_o swear_v by_o it_o the_o say_a book_n azar_n further_a say_v that_o caydar_n the_o second_o son_n of_o ishmael_n erect_v the_o say_a idol_n in_o the_o say_a tower_n because_o abraham_n and_o ishmael_n use_v and_o have_v use_v ever_o since_o muhamed_n time_n and_o the_o pilgrimage_n or_o visitation_n call_v alhage_n which_o the_o moor_n now_o use_v be_v the_o same_o which_o the_o idolater_n use_v and_o all_o the_o ceremony_n which_o the_o idolater_n use_v in_o the_o time_n of_o idolatry_n the_o moor_n at_o this_o day_n annual_o use_v the_o very_a same_o when_o they_o go_v to_o meka_n and_o sect_n command_v that_o this_o stone_n be_v worship_v and_o kiss_v and_o that_o the_o kiss_n and_o adore_v of_o this_o stone_n be_v a_o article_n of_o his_o law_n and_o that_o it_o be_v at_o present_a in_o the_o same_o place_n where_o it_o be_v at_o that_o time_n when_o the_o idol_n be_v in_o be_v and_o i_o shall_v prove_v as_o well_o by_o the_o alcoran_n and_o by_o muhamed_n suné_fw-fr that_o from_o caydar_n unto_o muhamed_a there_o can_v be_v no_o other_o descent_n than_o that_o caydar_n beget_v a_o idolatrous_a son_n and_o that_o son_n beget_v another_o idolater_n and_o that_o idolater_n beget_v another_o and_o such_o a_o succession_n you_o find_v until_o muhamed_n grandfather_n for_o it_o say_v thus_o motalib_n a_o idolater_n beget_v abdalla_n muhamed_n father_n who_o be_v also_o a_o idolater_n and_o this_o abdalla_n beget_v muhame_v a_o idolater_n now_o observe_v o_o moor_n and_o consider_v the_o generation_n of_o jesus_n christ_n the_o son_n of_o mary_n and_o thou_o shall_v find_v that_o he_o descend_v from_o abraham_n the_o father_n of_o isaac_n and_o from_o isaac_n the_o father_n of_o jacob_n and_o from_o jacob_n the_o father_n of_o judah_n and_o from_o juda_n the_o father_n of_o etc._n etc._n and_o from_o one_o to_o another_o until_o our_o lady_n the_o virgin_n mary_n and_o thou_o shall_v see_v that_o they_o be_v all_o patriarch_n prophet_n hero_n perfect_a man_n and_o saint_n and_o will_v acknowledge_v that_o this_o generation_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v better_a than_o the_o generation_n of_o muhamed_a and_o observe_v likewise_o the_o time_n of_o christ_n how_o it_o be_v adorn_v with_o prophet_n prophecy_n saint_n and_o priest_n who_o worship_v in_o the_o temple_n of_o god_n the_o sacred_a house_n of_o jerusalem_n which_o the_o alcoran_n call_v the_o bless_a house_n of_o god_n and_o compare_v muhamed_n temple_n wherein_o idolatry_n than_o reign_v more_o than_o at_o any_o time_n before_o or_o since_o with_o the_o temple_n which_o jesâ—â—_n christ_n and_o this_o virgin_n his_o mother_n frequent_v which_o be_v the_o temple_n of_o god_n sanctify_v serve_v and_o honour_v by_o prophet_n and_o holy_a priest_n and_o compare_v the_o father_n and_o mother_n of_o muhamed_a and_o thou_o will_v see_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o father_n and_o mother_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o father_n and_o mother_n of_o muhamed_a and_o if_o thou_o say_v that_o jesus_n christ_n have_v no_o father_n i_o answer_v that_o the_o alcoran_n say_v that_o he_o be_v conceive_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o the_o womb_n of_o the_o virgin_n mary_n and_o as_o you_o take_v the_o virgin_n mary_n for_o the_o mother_n of_o jesus_n christ_n so_o you_o must_v take_v the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o his_o father_n who_o be_v true_a god_n and_o if_o all_o that_o proceed_v from_o god_n be_v god_n see_v the_o holy_a ghost_n proceed_v from_o the_o father_n to_o the_o son_n you_o must_v believe_v that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o thus_o you_o see_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o father_n and_o mother_n of_o muhamed_a and_o the_o glorious_a father_n and_o mother_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o contemplate_v upon_o all_o this_o aforesaid_a and_o consider_v of_o it_o well_o according_a to_o reason_n and_o truth_n thou_o
