be_v preach_v or_o read_v in_o any_o cathedral_n or_o collegiate_n church_n or_o chappel_n it_o shall_v be_v sufficient_a for_o the_o say_a lecturer_n open_o at_o the_o time_n aforesaid_a to_o declare_v his_o assent_n and_o consent_n to_o all_o thing_n contain_v in_o the_o say_a book_n according_a to_o the_o form_n aforesaid_a and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a fine_a the_o penalty_n upon_o person_n disable_v that_o preach_v 15_o car._n 2._o cap._n 6._o in_o fine_a that_o if_o any_o person_n who_o be_v by_o this_o act_n disable_v to_o preach_v common_a prayer_n and_o service_n in_o and_o by_o the_o say_a book_n appoint_v to_o be_v read_v for_o that_o time_n of_o the_o day_n shall_v be_v open_o public_o and_o solemn_o read_v by_o some_o priest_n or_o deacon_n in_o the_o church_n chappel_n or_o place_n of_o public_a worship_n where_o the_o say_a sermon_n or_o lecture_n be_v to_o be_v preach_v before_o such_o sermon_n or_o lecture_n be_v preach_v and_o that_o the_o lecturer_n then_o to_o preach_v shall_v be_v present_a at_o the_o read_n thereof_o provide_v nevertheless_o that_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o extend_v to_o the_o university_n church_n university_n proviso_n for_o sermon_n and_o lecture_n in_o the_o university_n in_o the_o university_n of_o this_o realm_n or_o either_o of_o they_o when_o or_o at_o such_o time_n as_o any_o sermon_n or_o lecture_n be_v preach_v or_o read_v in_o the_o say_a church_n or_o any_o of_o they_o for_z or_o as_o the_o public_a university_n sermon_n or_o lecture_n but_o that_o the_o same_o sermon_n and_o lecture_n may_v be_v preach_v or_o read_v in_o such_o sort_n and_o manner_n as_o the_o same_o have_v be_v heretofore_o preach_v or_o read_v this_o act_n or_o any_o thing_n ceremony_n of_o the_o church_n according_a to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n together_o with_o the_o psalter_n or_o psalm_n of_o david_n point_v as_o they_o be_v to_o be_v sing_v or_o say_v in_o church_n and_o the_o form_n and_o manner_n of_o make_v ordain_v and_o consecrate_v of_o bishop_n priest_n and_o deacon_n shall_v at_o the_o cost_n and_o charge_n of_o the_o parishioner_n of_o every_o parish-church_n and_o chappelry_n cathedral_n church_n college_n and_o hall_n be_v attain_v and_o get_v before_o the_o feast-day_n of_o st._n bartholomew_n in_o the_o year_n upon_o indictment_n or_o information_n by_o any_o person_n or_o person_n to_o be_v take_v before_o they_o in_o their_o session_n of_o peace_n respective_o and_o shall_v yearly_o certify_v into_o the_o court_n of_o exchequer_n as_o in_o other_o like_a case_n they_o be_v bind_v to_o do_v the_o fine_n by_o they_o impose_v for_o any_o the_o offence_n aforesaid_a and_o shall_v and_o may_v also_o by_o virtue_n hereof_o award_v process_n and_o execution_n for_o the_o take_n or_o punish_v such_o offender_n as_o in_o any_o other_o case_n they_o lawful_o may_v do_v by_o any_o the_o law_n and_o statute_n of_o this_o realm_n university_n print_a copy_n to_o be_v send_v to_o his_o majesty_n library_n and_o the_o two_o university_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o every_o printer_n shall_v reserve_v three_o print_a copy_n of_o the_o best_a and_o large_a paper_n of_o every_o book_n new_o print_v or_o reprint_v by_o he_o with_o addition_n and_o shall_v before_o any_o public_a vend_v of_o the_o say_a book_n bring_v they_o to_o the_o master_n of_o the_o company_n of_o stationer_n and_o deliver_v they_o to_o he_o one_o whereof_z shall_v be_v deliver_v to_o the_o keeper_n of_o his_o majesty_n library_n and_o the_o other_o two_o to_o be_v send_v to_o the_o vicechancellor_n of_o the_o two_o university_n respective_o for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o public_a library_n of_o the_o say_a university_n university_n proviso_n for_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o two_o university_n provide_v always_o that_o nothing_o in_o this_o act_n contain_v shall_v be_v construe_v to_o extend_v to_o the_o prejudice_n or_o infringe_n of_o any_o the_o just_a right_n and_o privilege_n of_o either_o of_o the_o two_o university_n of_o this_o realm_n touch_v and_o concern_v the_o licens_v or_o print_v of_o book_n in_o either_o of_o the_o say_a university_n house_n peer_n house_n provide_v always_o that_o no_o search_n shall_v be_v at_o any_o time_n make_v in_o the_o house_n or_o house_n of_o any_o the_o péer_v of_o this_o realm_n or_o of_o any_o other_o person_n or_o person_n not_o be_v free_a of_o or_o use_v any_o of_o the_o trade_n in_o this_o act_n before_o mention_v but_o by_o special_a warrant_n from_o the_o king_n majesty_n under_o his_o sign_n manual_n or_o under_o the_o hand_n of_o one_o or_o both_o of_o his_o majesty_n principal_a secretary_n of_o state_n or_o for_o any_o other_o book_n than_o such_o as_o be_v in_o print_v or_o shall_v be_v print_v after_o the_o ten_o of_o june_n 1662._o and_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n to_o the_o contrary_a thereof_o in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o london_n proviso_n for_o bookseller_n and_o stationer_n london_n provide_v also_o that_o neither_o this_o act_n nor_o any_o thing_n therein_o contain_v shall_v extend_v to_o prohibit_v any_o bookseller_n who_o have_v serve_v seven_o year_n and_o be_v free_a of_o the_o company_n of_o stationer_n london_n from_o import_v or_o bring_v into_o this_o realm_n any_o book_n ready_a bind_v not_o former_o prohibit_v which_o have_v be_v print_v ten_o year_n before_o the_o say_a importation_n any_o thing_n in_o this_o or_o any_o sell_v book_n or_o paper_n within_o westminster-hall_n the_o palace_n of_o westminster_n or_o in_o any_o shop_n or_o shop_n within_o twenty_o yard_n of_o the_o great_a gate_n of_o westminster-hall_n aforesaid_a before_o
the_o twenty_o day_n of_o november_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o and_o one_o but_o they_o and_o every_o of_o they_o may_v sell_v book_n and_o paper_n as_o they_o have_v or_o do_v before_o the_o say_v twenty_o day_n of_o november_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o one_o within_o the_o say_a hall_n palace_n and_o twenty_o yard_n aforesaid_a but_o not_o elsewhere_o any_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n to_o the_o contrary_a in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o king_n proviso_n for_o the_o right_n and_o privilege_n of_o print_v grant_v to_o any_o person_n by_o the_o king_n provide_v right_n and_o privilege_n as_o aforesaid_a according_a to_o their_o respective_a grant_n any_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o stationer_n proviso_n for_o john_n streater_n stationer_n provide_v also_o that_o neither_o this_o act_n nor_o any_o thing_n therein_o contain_v shall_v extend_v to_o prohibit_v john_n streater_n stationer_n from_o print_v book_n and_o paper_n but_o that_o he_o may_v still_o follow_v the_o art_n and_o mystery_n of_o print_v as_o if_o this_o act_n have_v never_o be_v make_v any_o thing_n therein_o to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o provide_v also_o that_o neither_o this_o act_n nor_o any_o thing_n therein_o contain_v shall_v extend_v to_o restrain_v the_o keep_v and_o use_v of_o a_o printing-press_n in_o the_o city_n of_o york_n york_n proviso_n for_o the_o city_n of_o york_n so_o as_o all_o book_n of_o divinity_n there_o print_v be_v first_o license_v by_o the_o archbishop_n of_o york_n for_o the_o time_n huntingdon_n whereas_o the_o ancient_a highway_n and_o post-road_n lead_v from_o london_n to_o york_n huntingdon_n the_o highway_n from_o london_n to_o york_n and_o scotland_n hertford_n cambridge_n huntingdon_n and_o so_o into_o scotland_n and_o likewise_o from_o london_n into_o lincolnshire_n lie_v for_o many_o mile_n in_o the_o county_n of_o hertford_n cambridge_n and_o huntingdon_n in_o many_o of_o which_o place_n the_o road_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o great_a and_o many_o load_v which_o be_v wéek_o draw_v in_o wagon_n through_o the_o say_a place_n as_o well_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o great_a trade_n of_o barley_n and_o malt_n that_o come_v to_o ware_n and_o so_o be_v convey_v by_o water_n to_o the_o city_n of_o london_n as_o other_o carriage_n both_o from_o the_o north_n part_n as_o also_o from_o the_o city_n of_o norwich_n saint_n edmunds-bury_a and_o the_o town_n of_o cambridge_n to_o london_n be_v very_o ruinous_a and_o become_v almost_o impassable_a insomuch_o that_o it_o be_v become_v very_o dangerous_a to_o all_o his_o majesty_n liege_n people_n that_o pass_v that_o way_n and_o for_o that_o the_o ordinary_a course_n appoint_v by_o the_o law_n and_o statute_n of_o this_o realm_n be_v not_o sufficient_a for_o the_o effectual_a repair_n and_o amend_v of_o the_o same_o neither_o be_v the_o inhabitant_n through_o which_o the_o say_a road_n do_v lie_v of_o ability_n to_o repair_v the_o same_o without_o some_o other_o provision_n of_o money_n to_o be_v raise_v towards_o the_o put_v the_o same_o into_o good_a and_o sufficient_a repair_n for_o remedy_n whereof_o and_o to_o the_o intent_n the_o say_a highway_n at_o or_o in_o the_o county_n aforesaid_a may_v be_v forthwith_o effectual_o repair_v and_o amend_v and_o from_o time_n to_o time_n hereafter_o keep_v in_o good_a repair_n may_v it_o please_v your_o majesty_n that_o it_o may_v be_v enact_v and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o king_n most_o excellent_a majesty_n by_o and_o with_o the_o advice_n and_o consent_n of_o the_o lord_n spiritual_a and_o temporal_a and_o the_o commons_o in_o this_o present_a parliament_n assemble_v and_o by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o same_o that_o for_o the_o survey_v order_v repair_v and_o keep_v in_o repair_n of_o the_o say_a highway_n in_o the_o county_n aforesaid_a four_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n for_o each_o of_o the_o say_v several_a and_o respective_a county_n dwell_v next_o to_o the_o say_a highway_n respective_o or_o any_o two_o of_o they_o for_o the_o year_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o three_o and_o until_o the_o quarter-session_n than_o next_o ensue_v and_o from_o thenceforth_o the_o justice_n of_o peace_n at_o the_o session_n to_o be_v hold_v next_o after_o easter_n every_o year_n for_o the_o say_v respective_a county_n from_o time_n to_o time_n shall_v and_o be_v hereby_o empower_v to_o nominate_v and_o appoint_v nine_o sufficient_a and_o able_a person_n reside_v and_o inhabit_v within_o the_o say_v several_a and_o respective_a county_n huntingtonshire_n who_o may_v appoint_v surveyor_n of_o the_o highway_n for_o hartfordshire_n yearly_o cambridg-shire_n huntingtonshire_n to_o be_v surveyor_n of_o the_o several_a place_n in_o the_o say_a highway_n for_o the_o year_n from_o thence_o next_o ensue_v the_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n for_o the_o county_n of_o hertford_n to_o appoint_v surveyor_n for_o the_o highway_n lie_v in_o the_o say_v several_a town_n and_o parish_n of_o the_o say_a county_n and_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n in_o the_o county_n of_o cambridge_n to_o appoint_v surveyor_n for_o the_o several_a town_n and_o parish_n within_o their_o say_a county_n of_o cambridge_n and_o the_o justice_n of_o peace_n for_o the_o county_n of_o huntingdon_n to_o appoint_v surveyor_n for_o the_o several_a town_n and_o parish_n of_o the_o say_a county_n and_o that_o the_o say_v justice_n or_o surveyor_n aforesaid_a shall_v not_o act_v or_o do_v any_o thing_n towards_o the_o repair_v of_o the_o say_a highway_n but_o in_o their_o own_o several_a and_o respective_a county_n county_n the_o power_n of_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n in_o their_o several_a county_n and_o that_o the_o say_v justice_n in_o their_o several_a county_n shall_v cause_v notice_n to_o be_v give_v to_o the_o several_a surveyor_n so_o choose_v in_o write_v of_o their_o say_a choice_n which_o say_v surveyor_n and_o every_o of_o they_o have_v no_o lawful_a impediment_n to_o be_v allow_v by_o the_o say_a justice_n by_o who_o they_o shall_v be_v choose_v in_o manner_n as_o aforesaid_a within_o one_o wéek_v next_o after_o such_o notice_n to_o they_o give_v of_o their_o election_n shall_v and_o be_v hereby_o require_v to_o meet_v and_o assemble_v themselves_o together_o that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o surveyor_n for_o the_o county_n of_o hertford_n in_o some_o convenient_a place_n within_o the_o county_n of_o hertford_n huntingdon_n hertford_n cambridge_n huntingdon_n and_o the_o surveyor_n choose_v for_o the_o county_n of_o cambridge_n in_o some_o convenient_a place_n within_o their_o county_n and_o the_o surveyor_n choose_v for_o the_o
