say_v that_o among_o the_o errata_fw-la at_o the_o end_n of_o his_o book_n he_o note_v this_o for_o one_o that_o for_o the_o word_n latter_a we_o shall_v here_o read_v former_a i_o have_v observe_v it_o and_o well_o in_o deed_n may_v he_o note_v it_o among_o his_o errata_fw-la who_o even_o while_o he_o will_v blame_v other_o of_o error_n do_v so_o strange_o err_v himself_o as_o to_o put_v latter_a for_o former_a one_o contrary_a for_o another_o but_o this_o may_v be_v a_o oversight_n as_o often_o fall_v out_o in_o print_v which_o therefore_o i_o will_v not_o have_v note_v but_o that_o i_o think_v there_o be_v a_o worse_a thing_n in_o it_o namely_o that_o at_o first_o he_o both_o write_v and_o mean_v it_o of_o the_o latter_a which_o be_v about_o apostasy_n until_o he_o have_v himself_o apostate_n from_o the_o truth_n and_o execute_v again_o his_o ministry_n receive_v from_o the_o prelate_n in_o england_n and_o thereupon_o now_o will_v alter_v it_o measure_v the_o doctrine_n of_o religion_n not_o by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o as_o may_v best_o serve_v his_o own_o turn_n and_o i_o be_o persuade_v the_o rather_o thus_o to_o think_v for_o these_o reason_n 1_o because_o when_o he_o begin_v to_o set_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o enemy_n of_o this_o church_n and_o can_v not_o prevail_v as_o he_o desire_v he_o then_o begin_v to_o make_v question_n about_o apostasy_n whether_o any_o such_o may_v bear_v office_n in_o the_o church_n 2._o if_o we_o understand_v it_o here_o of_o the_o former_a as_o his_o errata_fw-la now_o will_v have_v it_o read_v it_o be_v nothing_o to_o the_o purpose_n at_o all_o see_v there_o be_v in_o it_o no_o speech_n of_o any_o point_n of_o doctrine_n but_o of_o hypocrisy_n and_o see_v a_o hypocrite_n may_v notwithstanding_o teach_v true_a doctrine_n for_o else_o it_o will_v follow_v that_o neither_o judas_n nor_o white_n himself_o do_v heretofore_o teach_v true_a doctrine_n when_o they_o preach_v because_o judas_n be_v and_o he_o be_v a_o hypocrite_n both_o of_o they_o through_o hypocrisy_n betray_v christ_n into_o the_o hand_n of_o his_o enemy_n his_o other_o proof_n of_o false_a doctrine_n which_o he_o pretend_v be_v set_v down_o after_o his_o wont_a manner_n other_o that_o may_v be_v allege_v yet_o not_o name_v any_o which_o no_o doubt_n he_o will_v have_v do_v if_o he_o can_v or_o if_o he_o dare_v adventure_v the_o trial_n of_o they_o with_o the_o teacher_n of_o our_o church_n who_o he_o thus_o envy_v and_o abuse_v who_o notwithstanding_o for_o his_o learning_n wisdom_n and_o godliness_n as_o also_o for_o his_o faithful_a teach_n of_o the_o church_n and_o upright_o walk_v towards_o all_o be_v so_o well_o know_v &_o approve_a as_o neither_o he_o nor_o we_o need_v regard_v any_o adversary_n malice_n &_o opposition_n against_o he_o after_o this_o he_o come_v from_o the_o teach_n to_o the_o roll_a elder_n who_o property_n and_o duty_n be_v thus_o note_v in_o the_o description_n abovesaid_a pag._n 4._o their_o elder_n must_v be_v of_o wisdom_n and_o judgement_n endue_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n able_a to_o discern_v between_o cause_n and_o cause_n between_o plea_n and_o plea_n and_o according_o to_o prevent_v and_o redress_v evil_n always_o vigilant_a &_o intend_v to_o see_v the_o statute_n ordinance_n and_o law_n of_o god_n keep_v in_o the_o church_n and_o that_o not_o only_o by_o the_o people_n in_o obedience_n but_o to_o see_v the_o officer_n do_v their_o duty_n these_o man_n must_v be_v of_o life_n likewise_o unreprovable_a govern_v their_o own_o family_n orderly_o they_o must_v be_v also_o of_o manner_n sober_a gentle_a modest_a love_a temperate_a etc._n etc._n and_o afterward_o again_o pag._n 5._o their_o especial_a care_n must_v be_v to_o see_v the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n true_o teach_v &_o practise_v aswell_o by_o the_o officer_n in_o do_v their_o duty_n upright_o as_o to_o see_v that_o the_o people_n obey_v willing_o and_o ready_o it_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o see_v the_o congregation_n holy_o and_o quiet_o order_v and_o no_o way_n disturb_v by_o the_o contentious_a and_o disobedient_a froward_a and_o obstinate_a not_o take_v away_o the_o liberty_n of_o the_o least_o but_o uphold_v the_o right_a of_o all_o wise_o judge_v of_o time_n and_o circumstance_n they_o must_v be_v ready_a assistaunt_n to_o the_o pastor_n and_o teacher_n help_v to_o bear_v their_o burden_n but_o not_o intrude_a into_o their_o office_n thus_o be_v the_o description_n now_o towch_v our_o elder_n he_o take_v here_o his_o exception_n against_o two_o of_o they_o the_o first_o be_v mr_n da._n st._n against_o who_o it_o may_v be_v he_o be_v the_o more_o eager_o carry_v because_o he_o discern_v so_o quick_o into_o he_o be_v a_o notable_a white_a hypocrite_n and_o deal_v so_o plain_o &_o round_o with_o he_o as_o he_o do_v and_o therefore_o also_o excâ—pteth_v not_o a_o word_n against_o he_o for_o his_o ability_n to_o discern_v into_o person_n
