member_n of_o the_o catholic_n or_o universal_a church_n and_o have_v not_o the_o be_v of_o a_o church_n of_o christ_n from_o rome_n or_o by_o separate_n herself_o from_o rome_n but_o have_v her_o eye_n open_v to_o see_v her_o error_n and_o her_o spirit_n quicken_v and_o revive_v she_o begin_v to_o think_v upon_o a_o necessity_n of_o reformation_n and_o so_o cast_v off_o the_o yoke_n of_o retain_v they_o and_o to_o continue_v they_o for_o her_o use_n we_o do_v acknowledge_v our_o liturgy_n and_o book_n of_o common-prayer_n to_o be_v the_o work_n of_o man_n and_o as_o by_o man_n it_o be_v first_o compose_v so_o by_o man_n it_o may_v be_v at_o any_o time_n alter_v or_o put_v down_o and_o there_o be_v no_o work_n of_o man_n so_o perfect_a though_o never_o so_o absolute_a and_o complete_a but_o may_v have_v some_o error_n in_o it_o or_o be_v taint_v with_o some_o corruption_n but_o that_o it_o be_v popish_a superstitious_a idolatrous_a or_o anti-christian_n as_o some_o who_o have_v more_o zeal_n than_o knowledge_n have_v be_v bold_a to_o defame_v it_o savour_v of_o too_o much_o ignorance_n pride_n rashness_n and_o presumption_n this_o we_o altogether_o deny_v and_o the_o very_a ordinance_n of_o lord_n and_o commons_o which_o do_v put_v down_o this_o book_n of_o common-prayer_n as_o you_o may_v see_v in_o the_o preface_n to_o the_o directory_n do_v not_o accuse_v it_o of_o any_o such_o matter_n as_o superstition_n or_o idolatry_n no_o nor_o so_o much_o as_o of_o error_n but_o speak_v reverent_o of_o the_o first_o composer_n of_o it_o and_o modest_o and_o discreet_o
