whereof_o the_o one_o that_o be_v the_o papist_n make_v the_o sabbath_n day_n but_o a_o ordinance_n and_o ceremony_n of_o the_o church_n and_o therefore_o observe_v it_o but_o as_o a_o thing_n take_v concern_v this_o matter_n how_o it_o be_v ceremonious_a &_o how_o it_o be_v not_o which_o kind_n of_o man_n keep_v the_o sabbath_n not_o as_o gross_a heretic_n and_o yet_o not_o as_o careful_a observer_n by_o reason_n that_o they_o be_v not_o thorough_o teach_v in_o it_o nor_o full_o persuade_v of_o it_o wherefore_o we_o may_v see_v how_o needful_a this_o doctrine_n be_v yea_o although_o we_o have_v no_o care_n of_o they_o that_o be_v not_o in_o the_o church_n yet_o in_o respect_n of_o they_o of_o who_o we_o have_v most_o care_n be_v in_o the_o church_n of_o god_n with_o us._n and_o this_o necessity_n we_o shall_v also_o observe_v if_o in_o truth_n we_o mark_v the_o several_a commodity_n which_o proceed_v from_o the_o right_a understanding_n hereof_o for_o see_v the_o sabbath_n law_n he_o often_o do_v it_o under_o this_o one_o word_n of_o keep_v the_o sabbath_n again_o when_o the_o prophet_n sharp_o rebuke_v the_o people_n for_o their_o sin_n they_o particular_o lie_v before_o they_o how_o the_o sabbath_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v break_v and_o to_o speak_v the_o truth_n how_o can_v a_o man_n lie_v long_o in_o the_o like_n of_o sin_n who_o embrace_v this_o doctrine_n in_o conscience_n who_o willing_o will_v have_v his_o sin_n discover_v his_o conscience_n unrip_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n against_o his_o sin_n threaten_v whereby_o he_o may_v come_v to_o a_o loathe_n &_o grow_v to_o a_o further_o mislike_v of_o his_o sin_n daily_o sure_o it_o be_v indeed_o that_o as_o in_o other_o thing_n so_o in_o this_o the_o ceremonial_a use_n little_o avail_v howbeit_o if_o for_o the_o ceremonial_a use_n of_o the_o sabbath_n because_o many_o so_o use_v it_o therefore_o we_o shall_v leave_v it_o we_o may_v as_o well_o by_o the_o same_o reason_n put_v out_o of_o the_o door_n of_o the_o church_n the_o administration_n of_o the_o sacrament_n the_o make_n of_o prayer_n the_o preach_n of_o the_o word_n because_o the_o most_o part_n of_o man_n use_v these_o thing_n for_o a_o fashion_n neither_o be_v it_o the_o question_n which_o we_o have_v in_o hand_n what_o man_n do_v but_o what_o they_o ought_v to_o do_v in_o the_o observation_n of_o the_o sabbath_n the_o lord_n own_o example_n that_o as_o in_o six_o day_n he_o make_v all_o thing_n and_o in_o the_o seven_o cease_v from_o create_v though_o not_o from_o preserve_v they_o so_o in_o six_o day_n we_o may_v have_v a_o natural_a use_n of_o the_o creature_n of_o god_n but_o on_o the_o seven_o day_n we_o ought_v to_o have_v a_o spiritual_a use_n of_o they_o under_o these_o may_v be_v couch_v another_o reason_n derive_v from_o the_o time_n wherein_o the_o lord_n first_o command_v the_o sabbath_n which_o be_v in_o man_n innocence_n so_o that_o if_o before_o transgression_n it_o be_v a_o effectual_a mean_n to_o keep_v out_o sin_n then_o after_o man_n fall_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v of_o force_n to_o withstand_v sin_n it_o may_v seem_v the_o best_a way_n to_o some_o first_o to_o entreat_v of_o the_o commandment_n itself_o and_o then_o of_o the_o reason_n howbeit_o because_o the_o lord_n his_o wisdom_n sometime_o prefix_v the_o reason_n as_o in_o the_o first_o commandment_n and_o see_v it_o be_v a_o thing_n of_o small_a effect_n to_o urge_v the_o use_n to_o they_o who_o be_v not_o ground_v on_o the_o doctrine_n and_o it_o be_v hard_o to_o overmatch_v the_o affection_n until_o judgement_n affection_n be_v convince_v we_o will_v first_o arm_v the_o matter_n with_o reason_n and_o then_o show_v both_o how_o this_o law_n be_v keep_v and_o how_o it_o be_v break_v this_o order_n be_v do_v affirm_v that_o on_o that_o day_n it_o perish_v if_o it_o be_v ungathered_a on_o which_o day_n it_o come_v forth_o then_o i_o do_v think_v that_o by_o the_o law_n of_o necessity_n this_o thing_n be_v not_o a_o thing_n ordinary_a but_o as_o a_o work_n of_o necessity_n now_o to_o fold_v up_o this_o question_n we_o require_v in_o gather_v that_o we_o shall_v be_v spiritual_o mind_v which_o they_o may_v show_v in_o give_v it_o a_o mark_n of_o separation_n that_o be_v that_o they_o bestow_v it_o on_o the_o poor_a if_o the_o be_v of_o they_o more_o wealthy_a sort_n if_o they_o be_v of_o mean_a condition_n yet_o they_o may_v impart_v something_o to_o their_o more_o needy_a brethren_n as_o testify_v thereby_o that_o they_o seek_v not_o their_o gain_n but_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n it_o remain_v brief_o and_o in_o a_o word_n to_o speak_v of_o travail_v which_o if_o it_o be_v ordinary_a and_o travel_v usual_a be_v in_o no_o case_n lawful_a but_o if_o it_o be_v extraordinary_a and_o necessary_a as_o often_o it_o happen_v to_o lawyer_n or_o physician_n the_o according_a to_o the_o necessity_n it_o be_v more_o or_o less_o permit_v we_o see_v that_o many_o papist_n will_v not_o stir_v out_o on_o their_o saint_n day_n whereby_o be_v detect_v the_o want_n of_o our_o spiritual_a love_n which_o make_v no_o conscience_n to_o cease_v on_o the_o lord_n day_n and_o so_o the_o religion_n devise_v by_o man_n find_v better_a entertainment_n &_o a_o further_a practice_n than_o that_o which_o be_v ordain_v by_o god_n if_o any_o man_n object_n the_o loss_n of_o his_o live_n if_o his_o displeasure_n what_o though_o the_o bag_n be_v heavy_a and_o their_o conscience_n trouble_v what_o if_o they_o be_v rich_a with_o man_n and_o poor_a with_o god_n again_o who_o be_v it_o that_o so_o dispose_v of_o his_o journey_n and_o his_o affair_n so_o as_o some_o make_a conscience_n of_o their_o sabbath_n be_v in_o their_o journey_n in_o one_o day_n better_o prosper_v in_o their_o affair_n in_o one_o hour_n more_o further_v than_o many_o other_o contemn_v the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n be_v in_o many_o hour_n and_o in_o many_o day_n who_o direct_v man_n to_o be_v provident_a in_o their_o sale_n and_o bargaining_n who_o besot_v and_o infatuate_v other_o who_o send_v a_o man_n that_o not_o for_o a_o simple_a desire_n of_o gain_n but_o for_o a_o single_a care_n to_o walk_v in_o his_o call_n use_v the_o trade_n of_o buy_v and_o sell_v more_o chapman_n in_o one_o hour_n than_o another_o man_n have_v in_o a_o whole_a day_n who_o heart_n be_v inflame_v who_o eye_n be_v enkindle_v with_o love_a gain_n and_o look_v for_o profit_n howsoever_o it_o come_v by_o hook_n or_o by_o crook_n man_n ascribe_v this_o to_o chance_v and_o so_o they_o oft_o by_o the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n receive_v a_o blank_a that_o be_v trust_v to_o the_o blind_a world_n they_o receive_v not_o so_o much_o gain_v as_o will_v acquit_v their_o charge_n can_v man_n travail_v day_n and_o night_n by_o sea_n and_o by_o land_n and_o that_o for_o a_o thing_n transitory_a and_o will_v they_o reach_v out_o no_o hour_n for_o the_o defence_n of_o god_n his_o worship_n do_v they_o fear_v thief_n if_o they_o enlarge_v their_o journey_n for_o the_o keep_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n &_o be_v they_o not_o afraid_a of_o thief_n when_o for_o their_o worldly_a affection_n they_o can_v travail_v early_o and_o late_o because_o herein_o the_o terror_n of_o their_o own_o conscience_n will_v preach_v more_o forcible_o to_o they_o than_o i_o can_v speak_v i_o will_v leave_v they_o to_o first_o we_o will_v consider_v of_o the_o feast_n and_o banquet_n accustom_v on_o this_o day_n and_o afterward_o of_o other_o recreation_n and_o exercise_n at_o that_o time_n frequent_v and_o use_v which_o though_o in_o their_o time_n place_n and_o person_n they_o be_v not_o unlawful_a yet_o at_o this_o time_n on_o the_o lord_n day_n we_o deny_v they_o to_o be_v lawful_a as_o for_o feast_n we_o may_v banquet_n part_v they_o into_o love_n feast_n church_n feast_n &_o sumptuous_a feast_n which_o carry_v with_o they_o some_o further_a expense_n and_o large_a liberality_n as_o be_v those_o which_o be_v use_v at_o marriage_n at_o the_o admit_v of_o man_n into_o their_o civil_a office_n or_o else_o be_v take_v up_o for_o some_o special_a benefit_n receive_v or_o some_o extraordinary_a judgement_n remove_v or_o some_o other_o cause_n like_v unto_o these_o as_o when_o man_n carry_v some_o port_n and_o countenance_n in_o the_o common_a wealth_n according_a to_o their_o degree_n and_o calling_n at_o some_o time_n do_v ordain_v touch_v these_o solemn_a and_o sumptuous_a feast_n thus_o much_o we_o affirm_v brief_o such_o as_o on_o the_o lord_n day_n institute_v such_o solemnity_n and_o stuff_n every_o office_n and_o bombast_n every_o corner_n of_o the_o house_n with_o man_n and_o woman_n be_v to_o be_v admonish_v due_o to_o consider_v of_o that_o which_o be_v report_v of_o david_n both_o in_o the_o history_n of_o the_o king_n and_o in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o chronicle_n 25._o who_o have_v a_o vain_a desire_n and_o superfluous_a appetite_n will_v not_o defer_v but_o
