brethren_n and_o howsoever_o it_o may_v be_v grant_v that_o offence_n and_o hindrance_n to_o edification_n do_v arise_v from_o these_o our_o ceremony_n yet_o it_o be_v certain_a that_o there_o be_v no_o show_n of_o comparison_n between_o the_o offence_n and_o hindrance_n of_o the_o people_n edification_n arise_v from_o the_o practice_n of_o the_o ceremony_n and_o the_o suffer_v of_o deprivation_n for_o not_o conform_v by_o every_o minister_n which_o my_o brethren_n in_o their_o argument_n do_v teach_v now_o for_o the_o jewish_a ceremony_n to_o omit_v my_o brethren_n repetition_n of_o appstolicall_a authority_n as_o be_v deal_v withal_o before_o they_o say_v they_o be_v square_v and_o direct_v by_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n but_o to_o understand_v this_o better_a we_o must_v needs_o distinguish_v between_o the_o different_a respect_n wherein_o we_o may_v consider_v they_o first_o in_o their_o nature_n and_o then_o in_o their_o practice_n and_o then_o again_o as_o it_o be_v needless_a or_o constrain_v or_o occasion_v by_o just_a reason_n of_o necessity_n for_o the_o furtherance_n of_o the_o word_n and_o good_a of_o the_o church_n in_o their_o nature_n they_o be_v fruitless_a unprofitable_a empty_a burdensome_a and_o most_o indecent_a also_o in_o their_o needless_a use_n they_o be_v not_o needful_a or_o profitable_a they_o serve_v rather_o to_o destroy_v then_o edify_v they_o be_v not_o profitable_a for_o order_n or_o decency_n they_o tend_v to_o infringe_v the_o christian_a liberty_n and_o they_o be_v so_o far_o from_o have_v no_o offence_n in_o they_o that_o they_o be_v above_o measure_n scandalous_a all_o which_o i_o have_v so_o prove_v to_o my_o brethren_n in_o my_o first_o and_o second_o reason_n of_o this_o my_o first_o argument_n that_o though_o they_o deny_v and_o wonder_v yet_o they_o meddle_v not_o with_o any_o proof_n thereof_o know_v that_o the_o very_a citation_n of_o the_o place_n will_v confute_v they_o but_o in_o their_o constrain_a use_n or_o use_v occasion_v by_o reason_n of_o necessity_n forealleadge_v that_o conformity_n to_o these_o ceremony_n be_v profitable_a necessary_a serve_v to_o edify_v by_o make_v way_n unto_o the_o church_n peace_n and_o preach_v of_o the_o gospel_n it_o be_v order_v to_o use_v they_o and_o this_o use_n of_o the_o practice_n of_o indecent_a ceremony_n in_o nature_n do_v uphold_v one_o high_a decency_n even_o the_o decency_n of_o apostolical_a preach_n convert_n soul_n plant_v of_o church_n and_o unity_n of_o brethren_n and_o thus_o that_o paradox_n or_o riddle_n be_v absolve_v which_o my_o brethren_n think_v impossible_a to_o be_v believe_v that_o a_o indecency_n support_v decency_n which_o if_o they_o have_v call_v to_o their_o remembrance_n they_o may_v have_v see_v how_o this_o four_o argument_n of_o the_o abridgement_n against_o our_o ceremony_n do_v very_o fit_o square_a to_o those_o which_o the_o apostle_n use_v yet_o one_o thing_n remame_v to_o be_v consider_v which_o so_o much_o offend_v my_o brethren_n that_o they_o scarce_o hold_v it_o possible_a for_o a_o godly_a or_o learned_a man_n to_o hold_v namely_o to_o charge_v the_o holy_a apostle_n first_o that_o they_o be_v offend_v in_o impose_v that_o they_o do_v and_o second_o that_o they_o teach_v against_o the_o thing_n which_o they_o iniòy_v that_o namely_o they_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v use_v by_o the_o jew_n or_o gentile_n but_o to_o the_o first_o i_o say_v that_o if_o it_o be_v necessity_n that_o move_v the_o apostle_n to_o enjoin_v abstinence_n from_o blood_n and_o strangle_v which_o be_v legal_a ceremony_n for_o they_o be_v call_v necessary_a thing_n fol._n 15._o 28._o yea_o without_o that_o necessity_n they_o will_v not_o have_v enjoin_v they_o if_o without_o necessity_n urge_v they_o will_v not_o have_v enjoin_v they_o yea_o they_o must_v needs_o be_v unwilling_a and_o loath_a to_o do_v that_o which_o without_o necessity_n they_o will_v not_o do_v if_o they_o be_v loath_a to_o do_v it_o than_o they_o must_v needs_o
