and_o as_o they_o do_v not_o look_v upon_o themselves_o as_o depose_v when_o banish_v from_o their_o own_o parish_n as_o appear_v by_o their_o preach_v else_o where_o after_o that_o sentence_n so_o they_o grant_v no_o such_o power_n now_o unto_o the_o magistrate_n yea_o when_o some_o of_o the_o indulge_v be_v some_o year_n thereafter_o call_v before_o the_o council_n it_o be_v say_v roundly_o by_o their_o mouth_n that_o they_o have_v receive_v their_o ministry_n from_o jesus_n christ._n but_o i_o answer_v 1._o though_o the_o indulge_v can_v not_o cause_v the_o magistrate_n speak_v otherwise_o than_o he_o will_v yet_o they_o be_v master_n of_o themselves_o and_o of_o their_o own_o action_n and_o they_o have_v liberty_n to_o do_v and_o speak_v that_o which_o before_o the_o world_n may_v testify_v and_o declare_v that_o they_o do_v not_o assent_v unto_o that_o assume_v of_o church_n power_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_n do_v dissent_v there_o from_o and_o protest_v against_o it_o as_o a_o sinful_a usurpation_n and_o encroachment_n what_o public_a protestation_n be_v i_o pray_v give_v in_o against_o this_o first_o or_o last_o what_o plain_a and_o positive_a testimony_n be_v bear_v unto_o the_o doctrine_n &_o practice_n of_o our_o church_n in_o this_o point_n which_o many_o of_o our_o forebearer_n do_v own_o unto_o banishment_n and_o blood_n 2._o as_o for_o that_o which_o be_v say_v by_o the_o mouth_n of_o some_o of_o they_o of_o which_o more_o afterward_o it_o be_v but_o a_o poor_a salvo_fw-la in_o the_o case_n because_o no_o man_n breathe_v neither_o magistrate_n nor_o church-judicatory_a can_v proper_o give_v the_o ministry_n that_o be_v proper_a to_o christ_n jesus_n alone_o man_n only_o can_v instrumental_o and_o ministerial_o convey_v &_o apply_v the_o power_n which_o be_v of_o christ_n unto_o such_o or_o such_o a_o person_n now_o i_o suppose_v these_o brethren_n who_o speak_v so_o by_o their_o mouth_n do_v not_o think_v or_o mean_v that_o they_o have_v their_o ministry_n from_o christ_n immediate_o without_o the_o intervention_n of_o a_o instrumental_a and_o ministerial_a cause_n so_o that_o notwithstanding_o of_o this_o by_o their_o practice_n they_o may_v and_o do_v declare_v that_o the_o civil_a magistrate_n be_v the_o instrumental_a and_o ministerial_a cause_n lawful_o authorize_v to_o repone_v they_o to_o their_o ministry_n that_o be_v that_o all_o that_o power_n of_o depose_v &_o repon_v of_o minister_n which_o by_o our_o reform_a doctrine_n discipline_n and_o practice_n have_v be_v assert_v to_o agree_v only_o to_o church-officer_n and_o church-judicatories_a be_v competent_a to_o the_o civil_a magistrate_n as_o such_o 3_o further_o it_o may_v be_v notice_v that_o a_o minister_n once_o depose_v or_o suspend_v and_o now_o repone_v by_o a_o lawful_a presbytery_n may_v say_v the_o same_o to_o wit_n that_o he_o receive_v his_o ministry_n from_o jesus_n christ_n with_o full_a prescription_n from_o he_o etc._n etc._n without_o the_o least_o question_v of_o the_o lawful_a ministerial_a and_o instrumental_a power_n of_o the_o presbytery_n in_o that_o affair_n so_o that_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o this_o can_v not_o salve_v they_o from_o a_o real_a acknowledge_v the_o council_n upon_o the_o matter_n to_o have_v the_o ministerial_a power_n of_o depose_v and_o repon_v of_o minister_n and_o that_o de_fw-fr jure_fw-la 4._o itis_n true_a theiâ—_n preach_v else_o where_o after_o their_o banishment_n from_o their_o own_o congregation_n will_v say_v that_o in_o so_o far_o they_o do_v not_o acknowledge_v themselves_o depose_v from_o the_o function_n yet_o it_o will_v not_o help_v much_o for_o their_o by_o past_a faithful_a deportment_n will_v not_o lessen_v their_o faint_a at_o this_o time_n but_o rather_o aggravat_fw-la their_o ceding_n or_o their_o silence_n at_o the_o accept_n of_o this_o indulgence_n spring_v forth_o of_o such_o a_o fountain_n their_o by_o past_a honest_a carriage_n i_o speak_v here_o upon_o supposition_n that_o they_o do_v sedulous_o preach_v elsewhere_o when_o thrust_v from_o their_o own_o charge_n though_o i_o apprehend_v it_o will_v be_v find_v true_a but_o of_o a_o few_o of_o they_o shall_v have_v prompt_v they_o now_o to_o a_o plain_a declaration_n of_o their_o adherence_n to_o their_o former_a principle_n and_o of_o their_o abhorrence_n of_o such_o gross_a and_o palpable_a invasion_n upon_o and_o usurpation_n of_o the_o power_n which_o christ_n have_v grant_v only_o to_o his_o church_n 2._o we_o may_v remark_n that_o it_o be_v say_v we_o be_v gracious_o please_v to_o authorise_v you_o our_o privy_a council_n n.b._n to_o appoint_v so_o many_o of_o they_o etc._n etc._n and_o again_o as_o you_o shall_v approve_v of_o whence_o it_o be_v obvious_a 1_o that_o all_o the_o power_n which_o the_o privy_a council_n have_v be_v from_o the_o king_n and_o consequent_o that_o they_o go_v no_o great_a length_n than_o the_o king_n letter_n do_v allow_v and_o that_o their_o act_n can_v not_o justle_v with_o or_o cross_v the_o scope_n intent_n and_o design_n of_o his_o maj._n letter_n but_o full_o comply_v therewith_o in_o all_o point_n and_o in_o all_o its_o design_n so_o that_o when_o any_o doubt_n arise_v anent_o what_o the_o council_n do_v we_o must_v for_o obtain_v of_o satisfaction_n and_o clearness_n have_v our_o recourse_n to_o this_o primum_fw-la mobile_a the_o spring_n and_o principle_n of_o this_o motion_n and_o the_o ground_n and_o basis_n of_o the_o counsel_n act_n yea_o we_o must_v interpret_v the_o that_o in_o this_o case_n qui_fw-la tacet_fw-la consentire_fw-la videtur_fw-la he_o who_o be_v silent_a be_v construe_v to_o consent_v and_o it_o have_v be_v always_o account_v in_o our_o church_n
