man_n that_o think_v there_o be_v any_o truth_n in_o history_n and_o who_o do_v give_v credit_n to_o other_o history_n and_o i_o believe_v there_o be_v no_o man_n but_o do_v so_o and_o yet_o will_v not_o be_v persuade_v to_o allow_v that_o the_o gospel_n history_n be_v very_o credible_a which_o contain_v a_o relation_n only_o of_o such_o matter_n of_o sense_n as_o it_o be_v moral_o impossible_a gospel_n and_o in_o the_o act_n of_o the_o apostle_n and_o of_o the_o author_n of_o these_o book_n there_o be_v no_o controversy_n in_o the_o christian_a church_n and_o if_o they_o be_v write_v by_o the_o repute_a author_n a_o few_o word_n will_v suffice_v to_o show_v that_o they_o be_v in_o a_o very_a good_a capacity_n to_o know_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o thing_n they_o have_v record_v much_o better_a than_o most_o other_o ancient_a historian_n who_o relation_n nevertheless_o be_v general_o think_v worthy_a of_o credit_n for_o st._n matthew_n and_o st._n john_n two_o of_o the_o four_o evangelist_n be_v of_o the_o number_n of_o those_o twelve_o who_o be_v in_o constant_a attendance_n upon_o our_o lord_n from_o the_o time_n that_o he_o first_o begin_v to_o preach_v and_o to_o make_v of_o the_o thing_n which_o they_o have_v relate_v viz._n the_o gospel_n of_o st._n matthew_n and_o st._n john_n and_o the_o act_n of_o the_o apostle_n and_o another_o of_o they_o though_o it_o bear_v the_o name_n of_o st._n mark_v the_o person_n by_o who_o it_o be_v pen_v yet_o if_o it_o be_v as_o have_v be_v general_o believe_v dictate_v by_o st._n peter_n may_v be_v add_v to_o that_o number_n only_o his_o name_n shall_v be_v at_o first_o of_o so_o great_a authority_n to_o they_o as_o a_o gospel_n write_v by_o that_o very_a apostle_n by_o who_o ministry_n they_o have_v be_v convert_v and_o of_o who_o miracle_n they_o themselves_o have_v be_v witness_n thus_o it_o may_v be_v and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o it_o may_v be_v agreeable_a to_o the_o divine_a wisdom_n and_o goodness_n so_o to_o order_v it_o that_o before_o those_o book_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n which_o we_o now_o have_v can_v be_v well_o disperse_v and_o upon_o good_a attestation_n receive_v in_o all_o christian_a country_n some_o particular_a church_n and_o especial_o those_o most_o remote_a from_o judea_n shall_v have_v for_o their_o present_a use_n other_o book_n write_v by_o some_o other_o of_o the_o apostle_n contain_v the_o same_o form_n of_o sound_a word_n and_o relate_v the_o same_o thing_n concern_v the_o life_n and_o doctrine_n of_o our_o saviour_n that_o these_o do_v and_o that_o some_o true_o say_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o singular_a in_o these_o book_n that_o there_o be_v no_o doctrine_n of_o christianity_n teach_v in_o any_o part_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n of_o the_o author_n or_o authority_n of_o which_o there_o have_v ever_o be_v any_o doubt_n in_o the_o church_n which_o be_v not_o teach_v in_o some_o other_o undoubted_a and_o uncontroverted_a part_n of_o the_o same_o book_n so_o that_o if_o it_o be_v grant_v that_o those_o part_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n of_o which_o there_o have_v be_v former_o any_o doubt_n be_v still_o of_o uncertain_a authority_n
