the_o name_n be_v certain_a yet_o be_v it_o uncertain_a whether_o he_o write_v this_o book_n after_o his_o fall_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v that_o he_o do_v write_v it_o after_o the_o long_a trial_n and_o experience_n which_o he_o have_v make_v in_o all_o thing_n under_o the_o sun_n and_o no_o doubt_n after_o his_o fall_n for_o touch_v his_o repentance_n although_o it_o be_v not_o say_v any_o where_o in_o these_o express_a word_n solomon_n repent_v yet_o may_v it_o be_v prove_v by_o necessary_a consequence_n out_o of_o the_o scripture_n that_o he_o do_v unfayned_o repent_v i_o reason_v end_n or_o else_o he_o shall_v not_o be_v couple_v with_o david_n and_o thus_o we_o see_v he_o be_v god_n elect_v and_o therefore_o repent_v and_o become_v koheleth_n so_o that_o we_o hold_v for_o certainty_n that_o this_o name_n which_o he_o geve_v himself_o and_o this_o book_n be_v for_o public_a note_n and_o record_v of_o his_o repentance_n and_o reconciliation_n to_o god_n and_o his_o the_o king_n of_o juda_n be_v the_o son_n of_o david_n why_o may_v not_o this_o ecclesiastes_n be_v ezechia_n jehosaphat_n or_o some_o other_o of_o the_o godly_a king_n before_o or_o after_o they_o i_o answer_v that_o the_o son_n of_o david_n which_o write_v this_o book_n be_v he_o that_o do_v excel_v in_o wisdom_n all_o that_o be_v before_o he_o in_o jerusalem_n as_o it_o be_v express_v in_o gather_v from_o the_o signification_n oâ—_n the_o word_n the_o greek_n do_v translate_v this_o word_n kohele_v ecclesiastes_n and_o that_o be_v in_o ouâ—_n english_a tongue_n a_o preacher_n and_o therefore_o we_o say_v in_o our_o translation_n the_o word_n â—f_o the_o preacher_n and_o so_o it_o shall_v be_v the_o â—ame_n of_o a_o office_n or_o function_n if_o we_o take_v â—t_z in_o that_o sense_n but_o we_o never_o find_v any_o prophet_n priest_n or_o teacher_n in_o all_o the_o whole_a bible_n call_v kohele_v &_o doubtless_o if_o he_o have_v mean_v to_o call_v himself_o a_o â—reacher_n he_o will_v have_v say_v the_o word_n â—f_n kohel_n rather_o than_o kohele_v which_o be_v â—n_o the_o feminine_a gender_n kahal_n be_v a_o assembly_n &_o congregation_n of_o people_n or_o the_o church_n kohele_v may_v â—ery_o well_o carry_v this_o signification_n to_o be_v one_o that_o do_v gather_v the_o same_o together_o or_o that_o do_v speak_v in_o the_o assembly_n but_o that_o he_o whereby_o we_o may_v perceive_v that_o this_o name_n be_v a_o note_n for_o ever_o of_o his_o repentance_n how_o that_o he_o forsake_v the_o evil_a into_o which_o he_o have_v fall_v and_o turn_v again_o to_o the_o lord_n his_o god_n for_o the_o holy_a scripture_n do_v testify_v that_o solomon_n do_v marry_v outlandish_a woman_n which_o be_v idolater_n they_o draw_v away_o his_o
way_n but_o chief_o in_o death_n their_o dignity_n do_v vanish_v and_o they_o differ_v not_o from_o the_o beast_n that_o perish_v as_o i_o allege_v before_o psalm_n 49._o therefore_o he_o say_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o child_n of_o man_n and_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o beast_n be_v even_o as_o one_o condition_n to_o they_o as_o the_o one_o die_v so_o die_v y_fw-mi e_z other_o for_o they_o magnanimity_n be_v in_o they_o yea_o they_o will_v seem_v to_o be_v gloriouse_a and_o yet_o look_v well_o upon_o the_o matter_n and_o you_o shall_v see_v they_o have_v bow_v down_o themselves_o to_o a_o base_a condition_n when_o their_o heart_n be_v set_v upon_o earthly_a glory_n which_o can_v not_o long_o lift_v they_o up_o above_o the_o beast_n in_o deed_n this_o be_v the_o valiant_a mind_n to_o despise_v to_o tread_v down_o the_o vain_a pomye_n of_o this_o world_n to_o esteem_v base_o of_o thing_n transitory_a to_o long_o for_o that_o bless_a estate_n in_o which_o there_o shall_v no_o baseness_n approach_v and_o in_o which_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v say_v man_n be_v in_o honour_n and_o shall_v not_o continue_v he_o be_v like_o the_o beast_n that_o pearish_a if_o the_o son_n of_o great_a prince_n which_o be_v bear_v to_o honour_n and_o dignity_n shall_v be_v so_o base_o mind_v as_o to_o let_v go_v all_o regard_n of_o their_o birth_n and_o place_n and_o choose_v rather_o to_o
