of_o they_o be_v defer_v and_o appear_v otherwise_o than_o they_o be_v believe_v to_o be_v charity_n charity_n be_v pour_v into_o our_o heart_n increase_v and_o preserve_v and_o be_v due_a both_o to_o god_n &_o man_n so_o that_o we_o shall_v love_v god_n above_o all_o thing_n and_o our_o neighbour_n as_o ourself_o even_o as_o christ_n also_o have_v love_v we_o the_o place_n of_o scripture_n from_o whence_o these_o description_n be_v take_v i_o have_v therefore_o willing_o leave_v out_o lest_o this_o book_n shall_v grow_v and_o increase_v unto_o a_o huge_a volume_n the._n nineteeen_o question_n whether_o these_o three_o virtue_n faith_n hope_n &_o charity_n be_v but_o one_o thing_n or_o else_o distinct_a virtue_n in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n and_o chief_o whether_o the_o one_o may_v not_o be_v take_v for_o the_o other_o the_o answer_n touch_v these_o three_o singular_a property_n gift_n of_o god_n s._n paul_n speak_v distinct_o give_v to_o each_o of_o they_o their_o peculiar_n property_n 1._o thes._n 1._o we_o give_v thank_n unto_o god_n almighty_a for_o you_o all_o make_v mention_n of_o you_o in_o our_o prayer_n remember_v always_o your_o effectual_a faith_n diligent_a or_o work_a love_n and_o steadfast_a hope_n in_o our_o lord_n jesus_n chryst._n etc_n etc_n and_o forasmuch_o as_o he_o give_v thanks_n and_o prayer_n unto_o god_n he_o teach_v that_o these_o virtue_n be_v free_o give_v from_o he_o unto_o man_n and_o that_o therefore_o they_o ought_v to_o pray_v and_o render_v thanks_n unto_o he_o and_o unto_o faith_n he_o attribute_v a_o certain_a effectual_a work_n because_o that_o from_o her_o all_o good_a work_n yea_o hope_v and_o charity_n do_v spring_n and_o he_o call_v charity_n diligentor_n work_v because_o true_a charity_n or_o love_n labour_v that_o we_o be_v make_v safe_a through_o hope_n but_o hope_v if_o it_o be_v see_v be_v no_o hope_n for_o how_o can_v a_o man_n hope_v for_o that_o which_o he_o see_v but_o if_o we_o hope_v for_o the_o thing_n which_o we_o see_v not_o by_o patience_n we_o look_v for_o they_o therefore_o faith_n hope_n and_o charity_n be_v distinct_a virtue_n and_o have_v each_o their_o proper_a operation_n and_o therefore_o be_v they_o several_o reckon_v by_o s._n paul_n 1_n corin_n 1._o in_o which_o place_n he_o say_v that_o other_o these_o three_o be_v again_o these_o virtue_n be_v so_o couple_v together_o and_o depend_v so_o one_o of_o a_o other_o that_o they_o can_v not_o in_o any_o wise_a be_v have_v several_o for_o who_o so_o right_o believe_v in_o god_n and_o his_o word_n the_o same_o also_o hope_v to_o receive_v the_o thing_n he_o look_v for_o like_a as_o paul_n teach_v out_o of_o the_o prophet_n abacuc_n in_o the_o epistle_n to_o the_o hebrew_n cap._n 10._o again_o who_o so_o right_o believe_v in_o god_n love_v he_o as_o his_o chief_a and_o everlasting_a good_a and_o love_v man_n because_o he_o be_v the_o image_n of_o god_n redeem_v by_o he_o as_z s._n john_n teach_v in_o his_o epistle_n and_o therefore_o paul_n to_o the_o hebrew_n cap._n 11._o interpret_v faith_n by_o hope_n say_v faith_n be_v the_o substance_n or_o ground_n of_o thing_n which_o be_v hope_v for_o and_o in_o his_o first_o epistle_n to_o timothe_n he_o show_v that_o charity_n spring_v from_o faith_n say_v furthermore_o the_o end_n of_o the_o commaundementis_fw-la love_n from_o a_o pure_a heart_n a_o good_a thing_n have_v each_o their_o several_a property_n so_o likewise_o these_o three_o virtue_n faith_n hope_v and_o charity_n be_v so_o knit_v together_o that_o by_o no_o mean_n they_o may_v be_v separate_v and_o yet_o be_v they_o several_o distinct_a wherefore_o even_o as_o from_o the_o globe_n or_o substance_n of_o the_o sun_n as_o from_o one_o spring_n light_n and_o heat_n do_v flow_v so_o from_o faith_n also_o both_o charity_n and_o hope_n do_v spring_n and_o as_o the_o body_n of_o the_o sun_n be_v not_o the_o light_n or_o the_o heat_n so_o faith_n be_v neither_o hope_n nor_o charity_n yet_o nevertheless_o the_o body_n of_o the_o sun_n be_v not_o without_o heat_n and_o light_v and_o faith_n be_v not_o without_o hope_n one_o and_o charity_n and_o as_o the_o sun_n shine_v by_o his_o brightness_n and_o not_o by_o his_o heat_n so_o faith_n inasmuch_o as_o she_o receive_v justify_v christ_n justify_v we_o before_o god_n and_o not_o through_o charity_n therefore_o
