own_o commandment_n ordain_v by_o the_o church_n further_o the_o practice_n of_o all_o christian_a church_n in_o the_o world_n do_v manifest_o show_v that_o the_o church_n have_v power_n to_o ordain_v rite_n and_o ceremony_n though_o not_o express_o prescribe_v in_o the_o word_n for_o there_o be_v no_o church_n in_o christendom_n without_o such_o as_o namely_o order_n for_o sit_v kneeling_z stand_v place_n for_o reader_n preacher_n and_o administer_v for_o the_o sacrament_n time_n for_o prayer_n sermon_n sacrament_n and_o such_o like_a ob._n but_o though_o the_o church_n have_v power_n to_o ordain_v order_n for_o conveniency_n and_o comeliness_n yet_o have_v it_o no_o power_n to_o ordain_v any_o sign_n with_o their_o signification_n neither_o can_v there_o any_o such_o example_n be_v produce_v resp._n if_o the_o church_n have_v power_n to_o ordain_v unsignificant_a ceremony_n then_o much_o more_o such_o as_o be_v significant_a for_o unsignificant_a ceremony_n can_v not_o edify_v 8.9_o as_o i_o have_v former_o show_v but_o significant_a may_v if_o their_o signification_n be_v express_v as_o it_o be_v in_o our_o cross_n where_o these_o word_n be_v add_v i_o sign_n he_o with_o the_o sign_n of_o the_o cross_n in_o token_n that_o hereafter_o he_o shall_v not_o be_v ashamed_a to_o confess_v the_o faith_n of_o christ_n crucify_v and_o manful_o to_o fight_v under_o his_o baptism_n but_o also_o to_o admonish_v every_o one_o in_o the_o church_n what_o profession_n they_o themselves_o do_v make_v at_o their_o baptism_n now_o that_o the_o church_n have_v power_n to_o ordain_v such_o ceremony_n have_v so_o good_a and_o profitable_a signification_n to_o let_v tertullians_n judgement_n pass_v who_o say_v that_o licet_fw-la unicuique_fw-la fideli_fw-la concipere_fw-la et_fw-la constituere_fw-la 4._o quod_fw-la deo_fw-la congruat_fw-la quod_fw-la disciplinae_fw-la conducat_fw-la &_o quod_fw-la saluti_fw-la proficiat_fw-la even_o t._n c._n his_o former_a rule_n do_v record_v by_o dionysius_n areopagita_n in_o his_o book_n of_o ecclesiastical_a hierarchy_n the_o signification_n of_o all_o which_o ceremony_n he_o afterward_o expound_v 3._o in_o the_o contemplation_n annex_v unto_o that_o chapter_n yea_o and_o diverse_a other_o father_n both_o of_o diverse_a church_n and_o of_o differ_v age_n in_o their_o write_n declare_v that_o not_o only_o
