know_v the_o out-going_n of_o the_o lord_n god_n who_o be_v light_n who_o outgoing_n be_v from_o everlasting_a to_o everlasting_a nor_o so_o much_o as_o the_o first_o principle_n of_o the_o oracle_n of_o god_n which_o be_v light_a and_o therefore_o he_o have_v not_o speak_v as_o the_o oracle_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o in_o say_v he_o will_v show_v the_o method_n and_o way_n of_o god_n he_o have_v manifest_o declare_v his_o ignorance_n and_o presumption_n but_o such_o unlearned_a man_n as_o he_o be_v undertake_v to_o judge_v the_o quaker_n foundation_n for_o error_n and_o after_o they_o the_o motion_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n that_o give_v forth_o those_o writing_n with_o the_o several_a bless_a testimony_n therein_o even_o as_o the_o hard-hearted_a jew_n be_v of_o the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n when_o they_o be_v in_o the_o gainsay_n and_o rebellion_n against_o god_n holy_a spirit_n but_o such_o kind_n of_o smooth_a teach_n as_o the_o author_n of_o that_o book_n who_o be_v unlearned_a in_o the_o bless_a teach_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n be_v very_o pleasant_a to_o unlearned_a people_n in_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n but_o the_o scripture_n be_v fulfil_v in_o many_o of_o they_o act_v 13.41_o behold_v you_o despiser_n and_o wonder_n and_o perish_v for_o i_o work_v a_o work_n in_o your_o day_n a_o work_n which_o you_o shall_v in_o no_o wise_n believe_v of_o the_o author_n of_o that_o book_n be_v to_o maintain_v the_o scripture_n be_v a_o rule_n of_o faith_n and_o practice_n and_o to_o gainsay_v the_o sufficiency_n of_o the_o spirit_n teach_v without_o the_o scripture_n or_o its_o immediate_a teach_n now_o adays_o without_o some_o outward_a teach_n i_o do_v ask_v whether_o the_o authority_n be_v in_o the_o spirit_n that_o speak_v the_o word_n or_o in_o the_o word_n when_o speak_v or_o write_v if_o none_o can_v deny_v but_o the_o authority_n both_o be_v and_o be_v in_o the_o spirit_n and_o isaiah_n by_o the_o same_o authority_n of_o god_n bless_a spirit_n he_o can_v work_v a_o save_a change_n in_o people_n either_o with_o or_o without_o what_o be_v write_v therefore_o it_o be_v a_o high_a degree_n of_o presumption_n in_o go_v about_o to_o limit_v the_o bless_a holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n as_o the_o author_n of_o that_o book_n do_v but_o what_o authority_n or_o effect_n have_v the_o true_a prophet_n word_n in_o the_o false_a prophet_n mouth_n this_o sad_a effect_n they_o steal_v away_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n from_o the_o live_a fountain_n and_o put_v they_o upon_o a_o vain_a labour_n in_o make_v break_a cistern_n that_o can_v hold_v no_o water_n and_o what_o authority_n profit_n or_o advantage_n have_v the_o true_a minister_n and_o apostle_n of_o christ_n word_n now_o in_o the_o false_a teacher_n mouth_n with_o their_o meaning_n upon_o they_o even_o this_o sad_a and_o lamentable_a effect_n they_o thereby_o steal_v away_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n from_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o immediate_a motion_n of_o god_n holy_a spirit_n in_o they_o and_o to_o gainsay_v its_o powerful_a teach_n and_o the_o universal_a love_n of_o god_n in_o the_o move_n of_o his_o universal_a holy_a spirit_n through_o all_o the_o world_n in_o its_o convince_a and_o reprove_v the_o world_n of_o sin_n etc._n etc._n and_o then_o to_o set_v they_o upon_o vain_a and_o unprofitable_a service_n first_o have_v turn_v their_o heart_n and_o mind_n out_o of_o the_o way_n that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o truth_n lead_v in_o and_o then_o set_v they_o upon_o a_o vain_a labour_n and_o travail_v in_o seek_v but_o never_o find_v till_o at_o length_n they_o conclude_v with_o the_o devil_n doctrine_n that_o there_o be_v no_o way_n out_o of_o a_o body_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n on_o this_o side_n the_o grave_n and_o such_o flatter_a and_o deceitful_a teacher_n be_v in_o a_o high_a esteem_n and_o account_v among_o a_o flatter_a deceitful_a people_n so_o all_o may_v mind_n that_o we_o do_v not_o oppose_v the_o in_o ward_n teach_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n
when_o he_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o those_o more_o upright_a heart_n and_o more_o thankful_a that_o he_o may_v possess_v those_o swinish_a nature_n and_o so_o throw_v they_o headlong_o into_o a_o sea_n of_o destruction_n which_o other_o of_o the_o like_a bad_a nature_n of_o who_o i_o shall_v say_v something_o those_o be_v they_o which_o have_v hear_v and_o see_v something_o of_o truth_n by_o read_v book_n or_o speak_v with_o some_o in_o the_o truth_n who_o word_n be_v accompany_v with_o power_n proceed_v from_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n they_o not_o have_v be_v able_a to_o resist_v but_o stand_v over_o they_o questioning_n and_o reason_v have_v be_v raise_v in_o they_o concern_v their_o building_n whether_o or_o no_o they_o be_v upon_o the_o right_a foundation_n but_o that_o be_v catch_v too_o which_o show_v they_o their_o condition_n so_o plain_a that_o they_o have_v no_o assurance_n of_o their_o well-being_n but_o in_o doubt_v and_o reason_v and_o fear_n through_o which_o secret_o torment_n do_v arise_v but_o their_o mind_n be_v from_o he_o that_o show_v they_o their_o condition_n which_o though_o it_o be_v the_o great_a love_n that_o god_n can_v bestow_v on_o lose_v mankind_n yet_o in_o that_o it_o bring_v a_o cross_n to_o flesh_n see_v plain_o that_o if_o they_o harken_v to_o it_o they_o must_v forsake_v all_o their_o vain_a custom_n and_o tradition_n of_o the_o world_n with_o all_o its_o lust_n and_o vanity_n these_o thing_n not_o agree_v with_o flesh_n and_o blood_n which_o they_o be_v consult_v the_o mind_n be_v draw_v from_o the_o witness_n for_o god_n in_o their_o heart_n by_o their_o wilful_a yield_n to_o the_o enemy_n of_o their_o soul_n who_o be_v always_o ready_a with_o his_o bait_n to_o betray_v they_o who_o desire_v ease_n in_o the_o flesh_n and_o who_o mind_n be_v out_o in_o study_v argument_n to_o keep_v they_o in_o the_o same_o the_o subtle_a serpent_n be_v here_o at_o work_n to_o the_o end_n that_o the_o creature_n may_v partake_v of_o his_o table_n for_o he_o know_v that_o then_o they_o can_v partake_v of_o god_n table_n as_o the_o scripture_n of_o truth_n declare_v so_o at_o his_o table_n he_o hand_n out_o curious_a word_n in_o prayer_n and_o hang_v down_o the_o head_n like_o a_o bulrush_n and_o with_o feign_v and_o flatter_a word_n to_o all_o sort_n of_o deceitful_a worker_n and_o do_v help_v to_o turn_v and_o wind_v all_o sort_n of_o worship_n which_o the_o beastly_a nature_n set_v up_o and_o so_o tell_v they_o there_o be_v flesh_n as_o well_o as_o spirit_n to_o be_v satisfy_v and_o that_o they_o must_v live_v in_o sin_n as_o long_o as_o they_o have_v a_o be_v here_o and_o to_o other_o who_o nature_n be_v incline_v to_o lust_n he_o provide_v plentiful_a dish_n for_o they_o and_o other_o who_o be_v dispose_v to_o drunkenness_n he_o direct_v they_o to_o companion_n and_o opportunity_n and_o at_o his_o table_n be_v variety_n of_o dish_n for_o the_o covetous_a man_n or_o proud_a high_a heady_a boaster_n curser_n ranter_n for_o all_o sort_n that_o will_v come_v to_o his_o table_n he_o have_v curious_a dish_n in_o a_o plenteous_a manner_n and_o in_o all_o these_o he_o promise_v content_a and_o satisfaction_n but_o as_o he_o ever_o be_v so_o he_o be_v and_o ever_o will_v be_v a_o liar_n for_o let_v those_o speak_v who_o have_v feed_v most_o plentiful_a at_o his_o table_n if_o ever_o they_o be_v satisfy_v but_o that_o the_o more_o they_o feed_v the_o more_o hungry_a they_o be_v let_v all_o these_o foremention_v and_o gamester_n speak_v for_o themselves_o and_o thief_n and_o murderer_n and_o the_o like_a but_o in_o some_o he_o work_v more_o in_o a_o mystery_n and_o furnish_v his_o table_n with_o curious_a word_n and_o so_o feed_v they_o and_o deck_v they_o but_o always_o at_o his_o table_n he_o have_v this_o dish_n for_o all_o sort_n of_o professor_n and_o profane_a that_o they_o must_v live_v in_o sin_n in_o this_o life_n this_o be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o chain_n by_o which_o he_o hold_v all_o that_o will_v believe_v so_o fast_o to_o his_o table_n and_o then_o let_v they_o be_v as_o rich_a as_o they_o will_v in_o comprehend_v and_o get_v into_o the_o brain-knowledge_n the_o scripture_n and_o outward_a learning_n so_o though_o the_o work_n grow_v so_o high_a in_o the_o mystery_n of_o iniquity_n that_o the_o enemy_n of_o the_o soul_n have_v exalt_v himself_o above_o all_o that_o be_v call_v god_n and_o so_o make_v a_o show_n in_o fine_a word_n and_o in_o long_a prayer_n and_o in_o curious_a art_n yet_o whilst_o he_o can_v keep_v they_o in_o his_o chain_n to_o his_o table_n if_o they_o can_v have_v ease_n in_o profess_v in_o one_o sect_n he_o will_v give_v they_o leave_v to_o profess_v in_o another_o sect_n and_o if_o that_o will_v not_o serve_v he_o will_v give_v they_o leave_v to_o go_v into_o the_o profession_n of_o truth_n itself_o and_o further_o to_o meet_v together_o with_o they_o in_o the_o truth_n any_o thing_n but_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o obey_v which_o bring_v to_o the_o table_n of_o god_n and_o so_o overthrow_v his_o table_n to_o any_o thing_n but_o this_o his_o chain_n will_v reach_v now_o as_o to_o what_o be_v before_o those_o that_o have_v see_v something_o of_o truth_n and_o some_o trouble_n have_v by_o reason_n thereof_o rise_v in_o they_o but_o for_o love_n of_o a_o little_a ease_n to_o the_o flesh_n such_o their_o mind_n be_v out_o willing_o go_v into_o the_o devil_n chain_n and_o so_o feed_v at_o his_o table_n where_o they_o be_v furnish_v with_o argument_n against_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n manifest_v to_o lead_v and_o to_o guide_v into_o all_o truth_n and_o so_o out_o of_o sin_n which_o be_v the_o devil_n chain_n but_o be_v thus_o furnish_v according_a to_o their_o heart_n lust_n be_v in_o the_o adulterous_a spirit_n take_v all_o occasion_n to_o speak_v evil_a of_o truth_n and_o they_o that_o be_v in_o it_o who_o be_v true_a worshipper_n of_o the_o lord_n according_a to_o his_o will_n in_o spirit_n and_o truth_n so_o the_o god_n of_o the_o world_n have_v blind_v their_o mind_n a_o evil_a eye_n get_v out_o and_o this_o watch_n for_o the_o halt_n of_o they_o who_o be_v in_o truth_n and_o when_o the_o just_a hand_n of_o god_n be_v go_v out_o in_o make_v manifest_a some_o who_o have_v be_v in_o the_o profession_n of_o truth_n who_o have_v harden_v their_o heart_n against_o reproof_n till_o at_o length_n their_o hypocrisy_n and_o guile_n be_v make_v manifest_a on_o which_o they_o hereby_o take_v occasion_n to_o speak_v evil_a of_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o they_o that_o be_v in_o it_o the_o enemy_n of_o their_o soul_n give_v they_o thereby_o some_o ease_n for_o the_o present_a but_o it_o last_v not_o long_o but_o the_o fame_n of_o truth_n be_v sound_v in_o their_o ear_n again_o by_o the_o witness_n of_o god_n within_o or_o else_o from_o those_o in_o who_o it_o dwell_v without_o they_o then_o the_o lamb_n rise_v and_z gives_z torment_n garment_n be_v not_o the_o garment_n of_o your_o own_o righteousness_n which_o be_v no_o better_o then_o filthy_a rag_n whole_a upon_o you_o and_o in_o that_o loathsome_a garment_n you_o appear_v before_o the_o lord_n who_o see_v your_o loathsomeness_n and_o hypocrisy_n in_o impute_v the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n unto_o you_o whilst_o you_o be_v real_o and_o true_o whole_a in_o your_o loathsome_a garment_n of_o your_o own_o righteousness_n where_o the_o righteous_a judge_n both_o of_o the_o quick_a and_o the_o dead_a behold_v you_o as_o you_o be_v in_o your_o loathsome_a garment_n he_o will_v never_o agree_v with_o you_o in_o your_o account_n whilst_o you_o account_v so_o false_o of_o your_o interest_n in_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n and_o yet_o whole_a in_o the_o condition_n do_v not_o you_o persist_v in_o your_o rebellion_n and_o so_o grieve_v god_n holy_a spirit_n in_o keep_v your_o heart_n whole_a in_o persecute_v they_o who_o be_v lead_v by_o it_o be_v not_o the_o priest_n whole_a in_o their_o sin_n of_o preach_v for_o hire_n and_o for_o filthy_a lucre_n sake_n they_o tell_v lie_v in_o hypocrisy_n promise_v that_o to_o people_n which_o neither_o they_o nor_o the_o people_n have_v right_a unto_o whilst_o they_o be_v servant_n to_o sin_n come_v down_o from_o these_o barren_a mountain_n of_o imagination_n and_o rend_v off_o these_o filthy_a garment_n and_o rend_v your_o heart_n from_o these_o evil_n and_o follow_v the_o example_n of_o they_o who_o be_v real_o in_o this_o work_n and_o from_o the_o lord_n acceptance_n have_v find_v he_o gracious_a and_o merciful_a and_o in_o the_o righteous_a government_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n of_o truth_n the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o way_n of_o truth_n be_v know_v in_o this_o world_n and_o in_o walk_v therein_o there_o be_v that_o hope_v manifest_a by_o christ_n righteousness_n in_o we_o of_o have_v eternal_a life_n with_o he_o in_o that_o world_n which_o be_v without_o end_n and_o you_o say_v dear_o belove_a brethren_n the_o scripture_n move_v we_o in_o sundry_a place_n to_o acknowledge_v and_o confess_v our_o manifold_a sin_n and_o wickedness_n and_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o
