the_o government_n of_o the_o clergy_n of_o this_o church_n be_v commit_v that_o they_o set_v themselves_o to_o countenance_n and_o encourage_v godliness_n gravity_n sobriety_n and_o all_o unblameable_a conversation_n in_o the_o minister_n of_o this_o church_n and_o that_o according_a to_o the_o power_n with_o which_o they_o be_v entrust_v they_o diligent_o labour_v by_o the_o due_a execution_n of_o the_o abovenamed_a canon_n and_o all_o other_o ecclesiastical_a provision_n make_v for_o this_o end_n to_o reform_v all_o offensive_a and_o scandalous_a person_n if_o any_o be_v in_o the_o ministry_n as_o they_o tender_v the_o welfare_n and_o prosper_v of_o piety_n and_o religion_n and_o as_o they_o will_v answer_n to_o god_n for_o those_o scandal_n which_o through_o their_o remissness_n and_o neglect_n shall_v arise_v and_o grow_v in_o this_o church_n of_o christ_n xi_o chancellor_n patent_n for_o the_o better_a remedy_v and_o redress_n of_o such_o abuse_n as_o be_v complain_v of_o in_o the_o ecclesiastical_a court_n the_o synod_n do_v decree_n and_o ordain_v that_o hereafter_o no_o bishop_n shall_v grant_v any_o patent_n to_o any_o chancellor_n commissary_n or_o official_a for_o any_o long_a term_n than_o the_o life_n of_o the_o grantee_n only_o nor_o otherwise_o than_o with_o express_a reservation_n to_o himself_o
