assure_v he_o that_o by_o the_o servant_n of_o the_o prince_n of_o the_o province_n who_o in_o number_n be_v only_o 232_o he_o shall_v deface_v that_o great_a army_n in_o the_o which_o there_o be_v .32_o king_n with_o all_o their_o force_n as_o the_o prophet_n of_o god_n promise_v so_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v victory_n be_v obtain_v not_o once_o only_o but_o twice_o and_o that_o by_o the_o merciful_a visitation_n of_o the_o lord_n but_o how_o do_v ahab_n visit_v god_n again_o ▪_o for_o his_o great_a benefit_n receyve_v do_v he_o remove_v his_o idolatry_n do_v he_o correct_v his_o idolatrous_a wife_n jesabel_n no_o we_o find_v no_o such_o thing_n but_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o we_o find_v to_o have_v continue_v &_o increase_v informer_n impiety_n 22._o but_o what_o be_v the_o end_n hereof_o the_o last_o visitation_n of_o god_n be_v that_o dog_n lick_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o one_o 9_o and_o do_v eat_v the_o flesh_n of_o the_o other_o in_o few_o word_n than_o we_o may_v understand_v what_o difference_n there_o be_v betwixt_o the_o visitation_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o reprobate_n and_o his_o visitation_n upon_o his_o choose_a the_o reprobate_n be_v visit_v but_o never_o true_o humble_v nor_o yet_o amend_v the_o choose_a being_n visit_v they_o sob_v and_o they_o cry_v unto_o god_n for_o mercy_n which_o obtain_v they_o magnify_v god_n name_n and_o after_o declare_v the_o fruit_n of_o repentance_n let_v we_o ●herefore_o that_o hear_v these_o judgement_n of_o our_o god_n call_v for_o the_o assistance_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n that_o how_o soever_o it_o please_v he_o to_o visit_v we_o that_o we_o may_v stoop_v under_o his_o merciful_a hand_n and_o unfeigned_o cry_v to_o he_o when_o he_o correct_v us._n and_o so_o shall_v we_o know_v in_o experience_n that_o our_o cry_n &_o complaint_n be_v not_o in_o vain_a but_o let_v we_o hear_v what_o the_o prophet_n say_v further_a like_a as_o a_o woman_n say_v he_o with_o child_n that_o draw_v near_o to_o the_o travail_n 17._o be_v in_o sorrow_n and_o cry_v in_o her_o pain_n so_o have_v we_o be_v in_o thy_o sight_n o_o lord_n we_o have_v conceyve_v we_o have_v bear_v in_o vain_a as_o similitude_n be_v use_v by_o our_o master_n jesus_n christ_n 16._o for_o when_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o trouble_n of_o his_o church_n he_o compare_v they_o to_o the_o pain_n of_o a_o woman_n travayl_v in_o her_o child_n birth_n but_o it_o be_v to_o another_o end_n for_o there_o he_o promise_v exceed_v and_o permanent_a joy_n after_o a_o sort_n though_o it_o appear_v trouble_v but_o here_o be_v the_o trouble_n long_o &_o vehement_a albeit_o the_o fruit_n of_o it_o be_v not_o sudden_o espy_v he_o speak_v no_o doubt_n of_o that_o long_a &_o dolorous_a time_n of_o their_o captivity_n in_o the_o which_o they_o continual_o travayl_v for_o delyverance_n but_o obtain_v it_o not_o before_o the_o complete_a end_n of_o 70_o year_n during_o the_o which_o time_n the_o earth_n that_o be_v the_o land_n of_o juda_n which_o sometime_o be_v sanctify_v unto_o god_n but_o be_v then_o give_v to_o be_v profane_v by_o wicked_a people_n get_v no_o help_n nor_o perceyve_v any_o deliverance_n for_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o world_n fall_v not_o that_o be_v the_o tyrant_n and_o oppressor_n of_o god_n people_n be_v not_o take_v away_o but_o still_o remain_v and_o continue_v blasphemer_n of_o god_n a_o troubler_n of_o his_o church_n but_o because_o i_o perceive_v the_o hour_n to_o pass_v more_o swift_o than_o they_o have_v do_v at_o other_o time_n i_o mind_n to_o contract_v that_o which_o rest_v of_o this_o text_n into_o certain_a point_n the_o prophet_n first_o fight_v against_o the_o present_a desperation_n 20._o after_o be_v introduce_v god_n himself_o call_v upon_o his_o people_n and_o last_o of_o all_o he_o assure_v his_o afflict_a that_o god_n will_v come_v and_o require_v account_n of_o all_o the_o blood_n thirsty_a tyrant_n of_o the_o earth_n first_o fight_v against_o the_o present_a desperation_n 19_o he_o say_v thy_o dead_a shall_v live_v even_o my_o body_n or_o with_o my_o body_n shall_v they_o arise_v awake_v and_o sing_v you_o that_o dwell_v in_o the_o dust_n for_o thy_o dew_n be_v as_o the_o dew_n of_o herb_n the_o prophere_n here_o pierse_v through_o all_o impediment_n that_o nature_n can_v object_v and_o by_o the_o victory_n of_o faith_n he_o overcom_v not_o only_o the_o common_a enemy_n but_o the_o great_a and_o last_o enemy_n of_o all_o to_o wit_n death_n itself_o for_o this_o will_v he_o say_v lord_n i_o see_v nothing_o to_o thy_o choose_a but_o misery_n to_o follow_v misery_n and_o one_o affliction_n to_o succeed_v another_o yea_o in_o the_o end_n i_o see_v that_o death_n shall_v devour_v thy_o dear_a child_n but_o yet_o o_o lord_n i_o see_v thy_o promise_n to_o be_v true_a and_o thy_o love_n to_o remain_v towards_o thy_o choose_a even_o when_o death_n appear_v to_o have_v devour_v they_o for_o thy_o deed_n shall_v live_v yea_o not_o only_o shall_v they_o live_v but_o my_o very_a dead_a careasse_n shall_v arise_v and_o so_o i_o see_v honour_n and_o glory_n to_o succeed_v this_o temporal_a shame_n i_o see_v joy_n permanent_a to_o come_v after_o trouble_n order_n to_o spring_n out_o of_o this_o terrible_a confusion_n and_o finallye_o i_o see_v that_o life_n shall_v devour_v death_n so_o that_o death_n shall_v be_v destroy_v and_o so_o thy_o servant_n shall_v have_v life_n this_o i_o say_v be_v the_o victory_n of_o faith_n when_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o death_n throughout_o the_o light_n of_o god_n word_n the_o afflict_a see_v life_n hypocrite_n
