happiness_n than_o another_o and_o out_o of_o his_o boundless_a desire_n of_o vain_a glory_n will_v make_v no_o end_n of_o his_o enquiry_n but_o will_v spend_v the_o best_a of_o his_o time_n and_o strength_n to_o vent_v his_o own_o notion_n and_o commend_v his_o vain_a imagination_n about_o the_o way_n to_o true_a happiness_n and_o to_o confute_v other_o as_o it_o be_v clear_a natural_a man_n of_o the_o most_o refine_a wit_n have_v do_v in_o many_o write_a volume_n and_o consequent_o it_o be_v clear_a he_o do_v not_o condemn_v the_o write_n or_o study_n of_o other_o book_n beside_o the_o scripture_n provide_v they_o be_v consonant_a thereunto_o but_o only_o of_o such_o as_o oppose_v the_o scripture_n in_o so_o far_o as_o they_o pretend_v to_o point_v out_o a_o way_n to_o happiness_n contrary_a to_o what_o be_v hold_v out_o therein_o by_o the_o study_n whereof_o man_n soul_n can_v never_o have_v true_a rest_n nor_o quietness_n till_o they_o close_v with_o such_o truth_n as_o be_v hold_v forth_o in_o this_o book_n which_o be_v as_o nail_n fasten_v by_o the_o master_n of_o assembly_n fix_v and_o establish_v the_o heart_n of_o those_o that_o receive_v they_o concern_v this_o solomon_n speak_v of_o their_o writing_n who_o mistake_v the_o scripture_n way_n to_o happiness_n say_v of_o make_v many_o book_n there_o be_v no_o end_n 6._o though_o the_o study_n of_o save_a knowledge_n may_v prove_v wearisome_a to_o the_o flesh_n partly_o by_o reason_n of_o our_o dulness_n and_o unacquaintance_n with_o the_o ground_n of_o consolation_n and_o confidence_n of_o success_n
