obedience_n of_o pastor_n to_o their_o superintendent_o but_o he_o have_v power_n to_o nominal_a minister_n to_o be_v member_n of_o the_o general_n assembly_n for_o assembly_n 1562._o it_o be_v ordain_v that_o no_o minister_n leave_v his_o flock_n for_o come_v to_o the_o assembly_n except_o he_o have_v complaint_n to_o make_v or_o be_v complain_v off_o or_o at_o least_o be_v warn_v thereto_o by_o the_o superintendent_n and_o the_o l._n glamis_n in_o a_o letter_n to_o mr._n beza_n say_v etc._n that_o after_o the_o reformation_n it_o fall_v out_o by_o custom_n that_o the_o bishop_n and_o so_o many_o of_o the_o minister_n pastor_n and_o elder_n as_o the_o bishop_n appoint_v come_v to_o the_o general_n assembly_n but_o touch_v what_o he_o allege_v as_o say_v by_o the_o l._n glamis_n i_o can_v find_v it_o no_o where_o save_v in_o the_o work_v of_o saravia_n and_o beza_n answer_n to_o glamis_n his_o second_o question_n wherein_o these_o word_n be_v find_v neither_o meet_v with_o nor_o of_o bishop_n and_o so_o this_o make_v nothing_o for_o our_o author_n purpose_n wherefore_o if_o ever_o l._n glamis_n have_v any_o such_o expression_n whereof_o i_o much_o doubt_n in_o my_o mind_n he_o mean_v it_o of_o the_o tulchans_n who_o for_o some_o space_n after_o the_o leith-convention_n make_v some_o step_n towards_o such_o a_o superiority_n otherwise_o all_o the_o account_n we_o have_v much_o our_o author_n himself_o present_o prove_v and_o overturn_v this_o his_o own_o argument_n by_o cite_v another_o out_o of_o the_o assembly_n july_n 1563_o 1568_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v 219._o viz._n anent_o the_o order_n hereafter_o to_o be_v use_v in_o general_a assembly_n they_o all_o vote_v and_o conclude_v as_o follow_v viz._n that_o if_o the_o order_n already_o receive_v please_v commissioner_n of_o burgh_n and_o shire_n together_o with_o commissioner_n of_o university_n second_o minister_n and_o commissioner_n shall_v be_v choose_v at_o the_o synodal-convention_n of_o the_o diocese_n by_o the_o consent_n of_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o minister_n and_o gentleman_n that_o shall_v conveen_v at_o the_o say_a synodal-convention_n etc._n etc._n from_o this_o act_n it_o be_v clear_a that_o the_o former_a in_o 1562._o have_v only_o be_v mention_v never_o conclude_v or_o at_o least_o cass_v and_o repeal_v by_o some_o intervenient_a assembly_n otherways_o there_o have_v be_v no_o place_n or_o ground_n for_o the_o act_n of_o 1568._o which_o presuppose_v that_o even_o these_o that_o be_v not_o at_o all_o thus_o choose_v at_o the_o synod_n be_v free_a to_o come_v and_o vote_n at_o the_o assembly_n so_o far_o be_v this_o liberty_n from_o be_v put_v in_o the_o superintendent_n or_o commissioner_n power_n and_o indeed_o from_o this_o act_n it_o be_v most_o evident_a and_o it_o be_v leave_v on_o record_n also_o by_o the_o vindicatour_n of_o philadelphus_n that_o before_o the_o time_n of_o this_o act_n all_o minister_n who_o please_v be_v free_a to_o vote_n at_o the_o assembly_n &_o yet_o with_o our_o author_n petrie_n must_v be_v a_o mixer_n of_o lie_n for_o say_v so_o much_o but_o calderwood_n say_v our_o author_n leave_v out_o entire_o these_o word_n bring_v with_o they_o i._n e._n with_o the_o superintendent_o and_o commissioner_n of_o kirk_n present_v as_o person_n able_a to_o reason_n and_o have_v knowledge_n to_o judge_v whereby_o the_o power_n of_o superintendent_o and_o commissioner_n for_o visit_v of_o
