propriae_fw-la luce_n and_o be_v out_o of_o the_o reach_n of_o those_o malignant_a suggestion_n by_o which_o the_o tempter_n be_v often_o question_v supernatural_a truth_n few_o christian_n and_o too_o few_o divine_n do_v dig_v so_o deep_a and_o proceed_v so_o wise_o as_o to_o take_v in_o all_o these_o natural_a help_n but_o overpass_a those_o presuppose_a verity_n do_v oft_o leave_v themselves_o open_a to_o the_o subtle_a affault_n of_o the_o tempter_n who_o know_v where_o the_o breach_n be_v and_o will_v some_o time_n urge_v such_o objection_n on_o they_o as_o need_v a_o solution_n 〈◊〉_d those_o help_n which_o they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o do_v you_o look_v for_o a_o high_a degree_n of_o zeal_n in_o this_o he_o be_v marvellous_a be_v a_o live_a fire_n continual_o burn_v in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o man_n still_o mount_v upward_o and_o kindle_v all_o that_o be_v capable_a about_o he_o as_o prone_a to_o fervour_n and_o activity_n as_o earthen_a nature_n to_o cold_a and_o idleness_n not_o weary_a of_o well_o do_v not_o speak_v slight_o and_o with_o indifferent_a affection_n of_o the_o great_a jehovah_n and_o of_o holy_a thing_n but_o with_o the_o reverence_n and_o seriousness_n as_o become_v one_o that_o by_o faith_n still_o see_v the_o lord_n not_o do_v god_n work_n with_o a_o unwilling_a or_o a_o sluggish_a heart_n as_o if_o he_o do_v it_o not_o nor_o as_o those_o that_o fear_v be_v loser_n by_o god_n or_o of_o give_v he_o more_o than_o he_o deserve_v or_o get_v salvation_n at_o too_o dear_a a_o rate_n but_o as_o a_o soul_n that_o be_v kin_n to_o angel_n which_o be_v active_a spirit_n and_o a_o flame_n of_o fire_n that_o come_v from_o god_n the_o lord_n of_o life_n and_o father_n of_o spirit_n and_o live_v in_o god_n and_o be_v work_v and_o pass_v up_o to_o god_n as_o one_o that_o know_v that_o none_o other_o work_n be_v worthy_a of_o a_o man_n and_o approvable_a by_o any_o reason_n save_v that_o which_o be_v make_v a_o salve_n to_o sense_n except_o only_o the_o soul_n resignation_n obedience_n and_o love_n to_o god_n and_o the_o seek_n of_o the_o heavenly_a durable_a felicity_n in_o the_o use_n of_o all_o those_o mean_n which_o god_n in_o nature_n and_o scripture_n have_v appoint_v for_o the_o obtain_n of_o it_o it_o be_v too_o common_a to_o find_v man_n that_o be_v long_a and_o deep_a student_n in_o philosophy_n and_o the_o doctrinal_n and_o method_n of_o theology_n to_o be_v find_v none_o of_o the_o most_o zealous_a or_o serious_a divine_n and_o for_o the_o learn_a doctor_n to_o be_v but_o of_o the_o course_v and_o weak_a sort_n of_o christian_n because_o they_o exercise_v the_o head_n almost_o alone_o and_o take_v little_a pain_n to_o work_v what_o truth_n they_o know_v upon_o their_o heart_n as_o if_o the_o head_n be_v more_o disease_v with_o sin_n than_o the_o heart_n be_v and_o the_o heart_n have_v not_o as_o much_o need_n of_o a_o cure_n or_o as_o if_o god_n grace_n do_v not_o as_o much_o dwell_v in_o the_o will_n as_o in_o the_o understanding_n and_o the_o heart_n have_v not_o the_o noble_a work_n to_o do_v life_n light_n and_o love_n be_v the_o inseparable_a influence_n and_o effect_n of_o the_o sanctify_a spirit_n but_o yet_o sometime_o the_o indisposition_n of_o the_o receiver_n may_v keep_v out_o one_o of_o they_o more_o than_o the_o rest_n light_v alone_o may_v be_v profitable_a to_o the_o church_n by_o breed_v light_n in_o other_o but_o life_n and_o love_n also_o be_v as_o suitable_a mean_n to_o produce_v their_o like_a as_o light_n be_v and_o without_o they_o it_o be_v not_o a_o flashy_a light_n and_o frigid_a knowledge_n that_o will_v save_v the_o soul_n and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n alas_o how_o ordinary_a be_v it_o for_o zeal_n to_o make_v a_o bustle_v in_o the_o dark_a and_o for_o those_o that_o be_v very_o earnest_a to_o be_v very_o blind_a and_o strong_a affection_n not_o to_o god_n himself_o but_o about_o the_o exercise_n of_o religious_a duty_n to_o be_v guide_v by_o a_o weak_a understanding_n and_o so_o for_o such_o well-meaning_a person_n to_o make_v most_o haste_n when_o they_o be_v out_o of_o the_o way_n and_o to_o divide_v and_o trouble_v the_o church_n and_o neighbourhood_n by_o their_o fervency_n in_o error_n till_o late_a experience_n have_v ripen_v they_o to_o see_v what_o mischief_n their_o self-conceitedness_a have_v do_v o_o how_o happy_a be_v the_o church_n of_o god_n if_o great_a understanding_n and_o fervent_a zeal_n be_v ordinary_o as_o well_o conjoin_v as_o they_o be_v in_o this_o worthy_a man._n and_o many_o have_v much_o read_n and_o plentiful_a material_n for_o learning_n who_o yet_o be_v never_o true_o learned_a as_o be_v injudicious_a and_o never_o have_v well_o digest_v what_o they_o read_v into_o the_o habit_n of_o solid_a understanding_n but_o so_o be_v it_o not_o with_o this_o our_o brother_n as_o his_o very_a letter_n full_o witness_v how_o clear_o and_o solid_o do_v he_o resolve_v that_o great_a question_n which_o he_o speak_v to_o as_o one_o that_o have_v theologie_n not_o in_o his_o book_n only_o but_o in_o his_o head_n and_o heart_n and_o i_o account_v
