either_o i_o or_o any_o other_o shall_v have_v be_v by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o king_n and_o both_o house_n be_v call_v to_o a_o declaration_n of_o this_o nature_n and_o i_o hope_v that_o i_o may_v appeal_v to_o the_o searcher_n of_o all_o heart_n that_o if_o i_o can_v but_o be_v convince_v by_o such_o clear_a and_o evident_a demonstration_n as_o i_o hope_v to_o offer_v to_o the_o contrary_a i_o shall_v bewail_v my_o error_n and_o retract_v the_o same_o and_o repent_v of_o it_o as_o be_v guilty_a of_o a_o great_a sin_n for_o i_o be_o very_o sensible_a of_o what_o my_o bless_a master_n have_v teach_v i_o in_o his_o holy_a word_n that_o he_o that_o break_v the_o least_o of_o his_o commandment_n and_o teach_v man_n so_o to_o do_v shall_v be_v call_v the_o least_o in_o the_o covenant_n viz._n to_o endeavour_v any_o change_n or_o alteration_n of_o government_n either_o in_o church_n or_o state_n so_o that_o the_o matter_n of_o the_o scruple_n lie_v but_o in_o a_o close_a compass_n and_o a_o very_a little_a room_n sect._n 4._o whether_o or_o no_o any_o person_n whatsoever_o who_o have_v no_o lawful_a authority_n from_o god_n law_n or_o the_o land_n to_o change_v or_o alter_v the_o government_n of_o church_n or_o state_n or_o to_o impose_v a_o oath_n upon_o any_o other_o so_o to_o do_v be_v bind_v by_o this_o solemn_a league_n or_o covenant_n they_o have_v take_v to_o endeavour_v any_o change_n or_o alteration_n in_o the_o same_o observe_v here_o by_o the_o way_n that_o whatever_o we_o be_v oblige_v to_o by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o of_o the_o land_n our_o baptismal_a vow_n and_o covenant_n the_o oath_n of_o allegiance_n and_o supremacy_n we_o be_v not_o call_v upon_o to_o renounce_v as_o be_v express_v in_o this_o declaration_n but_o that_o it_o bind_v not_o the_o subject_n of_o this_o realm_n on_o who_o it_o be_v impose_v against_o the_o know_a law_n of_o the_o land_n to_o endeavour_v that_o for_o which_o if_o i_o mistake_v not_o the_o earl_n of_o straffard_n and_o archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n be_v charge_v with_o high_a treason_n for_o this_o be_v the_o first_o article_n of_o the_o charge_n against_o the_o earl_n of_o strafford_n and_o mr._n pim_n in_o his_o speech_n in_o follow_v the_o charge_n have_v these_o expression_n towards_o the_o late_a end_n say_v he_o the_o 10._o consideration_n in_o this_o that_o as_o it_o be_v a_o crime_n odious_a in_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o viz._n to_o endeavour_v the_o alteration_n of_o the_o government_n of_o the_o state_n so_o it_o be_v odious_a in_o the_o judgement_n and_o estimation_n of_o the_o law_n to_o alter_v the_o settle_a frame_n and_o constitution_n of_o the_o government_n be_v treason_n in_o any_o state_n sect._n 5._o so_o then_o by_o this_o argument_n of_o mr._n pim_n to_o swear_v to_o do_v that_o which_o be_v a_o crime_n odious_a in_o itself_o and_o in_o the_o estimation_n of_o the_o law_n treason_n viz._n to_o endeavour_v to_o alter_v the_o settle_a frame_n and_o constitution_n of_o government_n must_v needs_o be_v a_o unlawful_a oath_n and_o therefore_o bind_v not_o any_o that_o have_v take_v it_o this_o be_v the_o judgement_n of_o the_o assembly_n of_o divine_n and_o all_o other_o that_o a_o unlawful_a oath_n bind_v not_o but_o it_o may_v be_v object_v that_o though_o it_o be_v true_a for_o any_o particular_a person_n to_o alter_v the_o fundamental_a government_n of_o the_o land_n in_o church_n or_o state_n be_v unlawful_a but_o to_o be_v engage_v to_o endeavour_v this_o in_o
