hypocrite_n reign_v not_o lest_o the_o people_n be_v ensnare_v the_o root_n of_o the_o word_n here_o render_v to_o ensnare_v signify_v the_o spread_a of_o a_o net_n or_o the_o set_n of_o a_o grin_n such_o as_o fowler_n and_o hunter_n make_v use_v of_o to_o take_v beast_n or_o bird_n with_o and_o thus_o god_n himself_o speak_v concern_v his_o deal_n with_o babylon_n jer._n 50.24_o i_o have_v lay_v a_o snare_n for_o thou_o and_o thou_o be_v also_o take_v o_o babylon_n and_o thou_o be_v not_o aware_a literal_a babylon_n be_v a_o snare_n to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n of_o old_a and_o so_o because_o the_o people_n have_v be_v ensnare_v therefore_o say_v the_o lord_n let_v not_o the_o hypocrite_n reign_n thus_o god_n revenge_v the_o people_n wrong_n and_o do_v justice_n upon_o those_o that_o have_v set_v snare_n for_o they_o so_o much_o for_o the_o general_a sense_n of_o these_o word_n and_o the_o open_n of_o they_o there_o be_v a_o second_o read_v of_o the_o whole_a verse_n which_o carry_v the_o sense_n somewhat_o another_o way_n and_o yet_o may_v be_v of_o use_n and_o yield_v we_o some_o profitable_a consideration_n but_o i_o shall_v not_o meddle_v with_o that_o till_o i_o have_v prosecute_v those_o observation_n which_o arise_v clear_o from_o our_o own_o read_n the_o word_n in_o general_a hold_n forth_o the_o heart_n of_o god_n towards_o false_a heart_a man_n he_o can_v abide_v they_o nor_o will_v he_o suffer_v they_o long_o to_o abide_v especial_o not_o to_o abide_v in_o power_n and_o greatness_n that_o the_o hypocrite_n reign_v not_o lest_o the_o people_n therefore_o god_n be_v not_o please_v he_o shall_v reign_v either_o as_o to_o reign_v be_v take_v strict_o for_o the_o exercise_v of_o sovereign_a power_n or_o as_o to_o reign_v may_v be_v take_v large_o for_o the_o exercise_v of_o any_o power_n and_o live_v in_o the_o height_n of_o prosperity_n for_o the_o clear_n of_o this_o truth_n that_o a_o hypocrite_n
hear_v and_o consider_v the_o matter_n let_v they_o speak_v their_o mind_n we_o shall_v not_o lean_v to_o nor_o rely_v upon_o our_o own_o understanding_n in_o the_o thing_n which_o concern_v ourselves_o only_o much_o less_o in_o those_o wherein_o other_o be_v concern_v more_o than_o ourselves_o eye_n see_v more_o than_o a_o eye_n and_o though_o it_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o too_o much_o weakness_n to_o see_v with_o other_o man_n eye_n yet_o it_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o much_o goodness_n and_o humility_n to_o call_v in_o the_o help_n of_o other_o man_n eye_n second_o note_v the_o more_o wise_a man_n agree_v in_o any_o matter_n the_o great_a be_v the_o conviction_n one_o man_n may_v speak_v to_o conviction_n but_o if_o many_o speak_v the_o same_o it_o be_v a_o very_a strong_a conviction_n many_o i_o confess_v may_v centre_n and_o agree_v in_o a_o wrong_a judgement_n yet_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v a_o reverend_a esteem_n of_o and_o not_o easy_o differ_v from_o that_o judgement_n wherein_o many_o wise_a and_o understand_a man_n agree_v christ_n speak_v of_o church-proceeding_n and_o censure_n say_v math_n 18.19_o if_o two_o of_o you_o who_o constitute_v the_o in_o some_o the_o best_a of_o man_n be_v not_o perfect_a either_o in_o grace_n or_o knowledge_n we_o may_v know_v much_o and_o yet_o come_v short_a in_o what_o we_o ought_v to_o know_v a_o man_n may_v speak_v some_o thing_n very_o understand_o and_o yet_o speak_v other_o thing_n very_o erroneous_o a_o job_n may_v be_v out_o sometime_o job_n have_v speak_v without_o knowledge_n and_o his_o word_n be_v without_o wisdom_n when_o the_o lord_n come_v to_o decide_v this_o great_a controversy_n in_o the_o last_o chapter_n of_o this_o book_n he_o tell_v job_n three_o friend_n that_o their_o word_n have_v not_o be_v right_o as_o the_o word_n of_o job_n and_o yet_o here_o elihu_n say_v job_n word_n be_v without_o wisdom_n or_o not_o in_o wisdom_n when_o god_n say_v the_o word_n of_o job_n be_v speech_n or_o speak_v those_o thing_n which_o be_v not_o right_o before_o yet_o here_o elihu_n speak_v truth_n while_o he_o say_v his_o word_n be_v without_o wisdom_n in_o the_o special_a point_n he_o have_v to_o do_v with_o he_o about_o and_o so_o much_o job_n himself_o acknowledge_v i_o have_v speak_v once_o yea_o twice_o but_o i_o will_v speak_v no_o more_o i_o will_v no_o more_o set_v my_o wisdom_n against_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n nor_o presume_v to_o have_v thing_n go_v according_a to_o my_o mind_n let_v god_n do_v what_o he_o will_v with_o i_o hereafter_o consider_v how_o well_o this_o good_a man_n take_v the_o plain-dealing_a of_o elihu_n it_o may_v be_v expect_v that_o job_n will_v quick_o have_v rise_v up_o in_o passion_n especial_o when_o he_o hear_v himself_o thus_o
