that_o serve_v not_o they_o make_v account_v that_o the_o prayer_n of_o they_o that_o be_v live_v shall_v do_v they_o good_a after_o they_o be_v dead_a and_o release_v they_o be_v in_o torment_n they_o make_v their_o prayer_n unto_o saint_n and_o think_v by_o pardon_n and_o indulgence_n and_o such_o mean_n to_o have_v their_o sin_n forgive_v they_o be_v they_o never_o so_o many_o so_o great_a so_o heinous_a and_o so_o gréevous_a but_o when_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n do_v teach_v we_o instruct_v we_o and_o lighten_v our_o mind_n than_o all_o blind_a superstition_n and_o ungodly_a heresy_n vanish_v away_o at_o the_o trial_n of_o the_o truth_n even_o as_o the_o fog_n and_o mist_n do_v break_v away_o when_o the_o sun_n appear_v in_o his_o force_n and_o well_o may_v such_o false_a opinion_n vanish_v away_o because_o they_o be_v but_o vanity_n copper_n bear_v a_o show_n of_o gold_n and_o may_v be_v flourish_v over_o to_o deceive_v the_o eye_n of_o the_o simple_a but_o when_o it_o come_v to_o be_v try_v by_o the_o touchstone_n it_o appear_v to_o be_v a_o vain_a thing_n and_o a_o thing_n of_o no_o account_n in_o comparison_n of_o gold_n so_o all_o superstition_n and_o heresy_n may_v go_v for_o true_a religion_n in_o the_o mind_n of_o simple_a and_o ignorant_a people_n but_o when_o they_o come_v to_o the_o touchstone_n the_o true_a trial_n i_o mean_v the_o word_n of_o god_n then_o if_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n do_v work_n in_o our_o heart_n by_o the_o read_n and_o hear_v of_o the_o word_n than_o we_o begin_v to_o deny_v the_o ungodliness_n of_o false_a religion_n and_o daily_o more_o and_o more_o we_o grow_v in_o this_o grace_n and_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o truth_n the_o ignorant_a mind_n of_o the_o heathen_a worship_v the_o sun_n the_o moon_n and_o the_o star_n when_o god_n grant_v they_o of_o his_o knowledge_n as_o no_o doubt_n god_n vouchsafe_v some_o they_o shall_v understand_v that_o the_o sun_n the_o moon_n and_o the_o star_n we_o do_v all_o seek_a happiness_n but_o we_o go_v a_o wrong_a way_n unto_o it_o therefore_o he_o sound_v a_o retire_n show_v that_o if_o we_o hold_v on_o our_o course_n and_o go_v forward_o as_o we_o have_v begin_v we_o shall_v not_o find_v happiness_n but_o great_a misery_n because_o we_o go_v by_o vanity_n therefore_o to_o fright_v we_o out_o of_o that_o way_n he_o break_v forth_o into_o a_o exclamation_n vanity_n of_o vanity_n all_o be_v vanity_n now_o solomon_n full_a of_o wisdom_n and_o school_v with_o experience_n be_v license_v to_o give_v his_o sentence_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n for_o the_o spiritual_a man_n judge_v all_o thing_n his_o judgement_n be_v so_o certain_a that_o it_o run_v before_o the_o evidence_n and_o condemn_v all_o for_o vanity_n before_o he_o convince_v they_o to_o be_v vain_a whereas_o we_o prove_v first_o and_o condemn_v after_o because_o our_o word_n be_v no_o authority_n he_o conclude_v first_o &_o prove_v after_o neither_o any_o judge_n do_v condemn_v so_o many_o together_o solomon_n resolve_v all_o the_o question_n of_o the_o queen_n sheba_n yet_o solomon_n never_o answer_v so_o many_o question_n at_o once_o as_o now_o for_o what_o can_v you_o inquire_v but_o hear_v you_o have_v a_o answer_n ask_v he_o as_o the_o soldier_n and_o harlot_n and_o publican_n ask_v john_n what_o be_v sin_n vanity_n say_v solomon_n what_o be_v pleasure_n vanity_n too_o what_o be_v beauty_n vanity_n too_o what_o be_v riches_n vanity_n too_o what_o be_v honour_n vanity_n too_o what_o be_v long_a life_n vanity_n too_o this_o be_v yâ—_z state_n of_o all_o thing_n after_o the_o fall_n all_o turn_v to_o vanity_n this_o be_v no_o reproach_n to_o the_o thing_n but_o a_o shame_n to_o he_o which_o so_o abuse_v they_o yâ—_z all_o thing_n shall_v be_v call_v vanity_n for_o he_o what_o a_o testimony_n be_v this_o of_o he_o which_o shall_v be_v the_o only_a servant_n of_o god_n on_o earth_n who_o he_o create_v in_o righteousness_n and_o holiness_n who_o he_o frame_v to_o his_o own_o image_n who_o he_o place_v in_o paradise_n and_o will_v have_v raise_v to_o heaven_n to_o hear_v that_o he_o have_v so_o pollute_v his_o life_n with_o sin_n that_o now_o there_o be_v nothing_o but_o vanity_n this_o be_v a_o lamentable_a song_n which_o will_v make_v he_o weep_v that_o tune_n it_o if_o he_o think_v what_o he_o say_v how_o his_o state_n be_v change_v since_o adam_n his_o father_n die_v once_o god_n say_v that_o all_o be_v good_a and_o now_o he_o say_v that_o all_o be_v naught_o and_o vain_a as_o though_o he_o forbid_v man_n that_o which_o he_o create_v for_o man_n that_o be_v not_o salomon_n meaning_n to_o debar_v man_n from_o the_o use_n of_o creature_n although_o all_o thing_n change_v with_o man_n and_o become_v worse_a than_o they_o it_o be_v receive_v or_o use_v with_o thanks_o give_v for_o it_o be_v sanctify_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n &_o prayer_n that_o be_v it_o which_o make_v they_o profitable_a to_o we_o which_o because_o it_o be_v want_v for_o the_o most_o part_n therefore_o solomon_n say_v that_o all_o be_v vain_a to_o we_o not_o vain_a of_o themselves_o but_o because_o they_o be_v not_o sanctify_v as_o they_o shall_v be_v therefore_o in_o the_o 2._o 24._o the_o 3._o 12._o and_o 22._o the_o 5._o 17._o the_o 8._o and_o 15._o he_o show_v a_o way_n how_o we_o may_v make_v a_o profit_n of_o all_o and_o rejoice_v in_o our_o labour_n and_o find_v a_o lawful_a pleasure_n in_o earthly_a thing_n so_o often_o he_o call_v we_o to_o the_o use_n lest_o we_o shall_v err_v as_o the_o monk_n &_o erenit_n have_v do_v before_o mistake_v these_o word_n when_o he_o say_v that_o all_o be_v vanity_n they_o have_v forsake_v all_o company_n and_o government_n and_o office_n and_o trade_n and_o get_v themselves_o into_o the_o wilderness_n among_o beast_n to_o live_v in_o quiet_a &_o silence_n say_v that_o man_n can_v not_o live_v in_o the_o world_n and_o please_v god_n because_o all_o be_v vanity_n so_o while_o they_o count_v all_o thing_n vain_a they_o become_v vain_a themselves_o &_o leave_v those_o blessing_n which_o solomon_n enjoy_v after_o his_o
also_o retain_v the_o faithful_a in_o godly_a life_n and_o manner_n what_o move_v these_o our_o adversary_n see_v they_o be_v overcome_v with_o the_o manifest_a and_o invincible_a truth_n to_o think_v they_o speak_v well_o say_v although_o this_o doctrine_n of_o predestination_n be_v true_a yet_o it_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v preach_v unto_o the_o people_n nay_o so_o much_o the_o rather_o it_o be_v good_a to_o be_v thorough_o preach_v that_o he_o that_o have_v ear_n to_o hear_v may_v hear_v and_o who_o have_v they_o but_o he_o that_o have_v receive_v they_o of_o god_n who_o promise_v to_o give_v they_o and_o as_o for_o he_o that_o do_v receive_v it_o let_v he_o refuse_v it_o if_o he_o will_v so_o that_o he_o that_o do_v receive_v it_o may_v take_v it_o drink_v it_o be_v suffice_v and_o have_v life_n for_o as_o we_o must_v preach_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n to_o the_o end_n that_o god_n may_v be_v true_o serve_v so_o must_v we_o preach_v predestination_n that_o he_o which_o have_v ear_n to_o hear_v may_v hear_v and_o rejoice_v in_o god_n not_o in_o himself_o for_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n towards_o he_o this_o be_v the_o mind_n of_o that_o excellent_a doctor_n as_o touch_v this_o point_n which_o notwithstanding_o bind_v we_o to_o two_o condition_n the_o one_o be_v that_o we_o speak_v no_o far_o herein_o than_o god_n word_n do_v limit_v us._n the_o other_o that_o we_o set_v forth_o fountain_n and_o chief_a original_n of_o the_o salvation_n of_o god_n child_n neither_o be_v it_o thereon_o ground_a as_o some_o say_v because_o god_n do_v foresee_v their_o faith_n or_o good_a work_n but_o only_o of_o his_o own_o good_a will_n from_o whence_o afterward_o the_o election_n the_o faith_n and_o the_o good_a work_n spring_v forth_o therefore_o when_o the_o scripture_n will_v confirm_v sometime_o when_o need_n require_v the_o scripture_n to_o make_v more_o manifest_a by_o this_o comparison_n the_o great_a power_n of_o god_n patience_n and_o the_o riches_n of_o his_o glory_n towards_o the_o vessel_n of_o mercy_n lead_v we_o unto_o this_o high_a secret_a which_o by_o order_n be_v the_o first_o cause_n of_o their_o damnation_n of_o the_o which_o secret_a no_o other_o
