not_o to_o take_v notice_n of_o any_o thing_n mr._n baxter_n have_v say_v of_o i_o because_o as_o they_o say_v his_o tongue_n be_v no_o slander_n nor_o his_o pen_n neither_o especial_o when_o he_o one_o also_o another_o instance_n of_o mr._n baxter_n dislike_a our_o translation_n be_v because_o it_o do_v not_o favour_n or_o rather_o indeed_o because_o it_o do_v condemn_v his_o own_o opinion_n i_o mean_v our_o translation_n of_o the_o word_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d by_o the_o word_n resist_v which_o as_o he_o say_v resist_v be_v not_o a_o proper_a translation_n of_o the_o word_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d and_o why_o so_o good_a mr._n baxter_n why_o because_o he_o and_o his_o party_n have_v resist_v their_o sovereign_n and_o therefore_o some_o resistance_n of_o sovereign_n by_o their_o subject_n must_v be_v lawful_a and_o if_o lawful_a than_o not_o forbid_v by_o st._n paul_n and_o consequent_o by_o mr._n baxter_n logic_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d which_o it_o seem_v he_o proper_a and_o obey_v primary_n signification_n of_o the_o english_a word_n resist_v be_v simple_o not_o obey_v and_o no_o more_o as_o mr._n baxter_n tell_v we_o it_o be_v for_o not_o to_o obey_v their_o sovereign_n in_o 377._o some_o case_n be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v unlawful_a that_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o all_o subject_n to_o do_v so_o in_o all_o such_o case_n wherein_o they_o can_v obey_v their_o earthly_a sovereign_n without_o sin_v against_o their_o heavenly_a sovereign_n and_o yet_o in_o those_o very_a case_n as_o i_o say_v before_o though_o they_o may_v and_o must_v disobey_v their_o earthly_a sovereign_n yet_o they_o may_v not_o they_o must_v not_o resist_v he_o but_o meek_o and_o patient_o submit_v to_o what_o punishment_n though_o never_o so_o unjust_o he_o shall_v please_v to_o inflict_v upon_o they_o whereby_o it_o plain_o appear_v that_o simple_o not_o to_o obey_v be_v not_o to_o resist_v much_o less_o be_v it_o to_o resist_v in_o the_o chief_a and_o most_o proper_a signification_n of_o the_o word_n as_o mr._n baxter_n say_v it_o be_v but_o god_n forbid_v it_o shall_v be_v so_o for_o then_o sin_n of_o ignorance_n and_o sin_n of_o infirmity_n will_v be_v more_o proper_o a_o resist_n of_o god_n than_o sin_n of_o wilful_a obstinacy_n he_o and_o presumption_n and_o the_o best_a of_o god_n servant_n may_v more_o proper_o be_v say_v to_o resist_v god_n than_o the_o great_a of_o his_o enemy_n because_o the_o best_a of_o his_o servant_n do_v not_o always_o obey_v he_o nay_o do_v never_o obey_v he_o in_o all_o thing_n nor_o in_o any_o thing_n as_o they_o ought_v to_o obey_v he_o though_o they_o be_v never_o so_o careful_a and_o desirous_a to_o do_v so_o and_o can_v such_o as_o these_o proper_o nay_o most_o proper_o be_v say_v to_o resist_v god_n can_v they_o who_o humble_a themselves_o under_o the_o mighty_a hand_n of_o god_n because_o they_o can_v obey_v he_o as_o they_o will_v be_v say_v to_o resist_v he_o god_n forbid_v for_o god_n resist_v they_o that_o resist_v he_o and_o who_o be_v they_o not_o the_o humble_a but_o the_o proud_a for_o to_o the_o humble_a say_v st._n peter_n he_o give_v grace_n but_o he_o resist_v the_o proud_a 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d say_v the_o text_n god_n set_v himself_o in_o battle_n array_n as_o it_o be_v against_o the_o proud_a to_o resist_v they_o when_o they_o rise_v up_o as_o it_o be_v to_o assail_v and_o defy_v and_o provoke_v he_o as_o pharaoh_n and_o julian_n the_o apostate_n do_v for_o indeed_o the_o word_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d as_o well_o as_o the_o word_n of_o they_o render_v by_o the_o same_o word_n in_o our_o translation_n be_v both_o of_o they_o military_a term_n and_o the_o genuine_a primary_n term_n and_o proper_a signification_n of_o the_o one_o use_v by_o st._n paul_n to_o teach_v all_o christian_a subject_n that_o though_o they_o be_v never_o so_o wrongful_o or_o never_o so_o much_o oppress_v or_o persecute_v by_o their_o sovereign_n they_o
