may_v end_v their_o woeful_a misery_n but_o alas_o alas_o death_n be_v even_o as_o a_o wide_a gate_n to_o let_v they_o have_v some_o passage_n to_o endless_a woe_n and_o misery_n for_o when_o they_o be_v dead_a and_o bury_v their_o sin_n do_v not_o die_v with_o they_o their_o misery_n be_v not_o then_o end_v o_o no_o then_o begin_v their_o endless_a misery_n &_o torment_n oh_o it_o be_v good_a they_o may_v have_v no_o more_o be_v after_o death_n it_o have_v be_v good_a for_o such_o man_n they_o have_v never_o be_v bear_v or_o be_v bear_v that_o they_o have_v be_v make_v rather_o a_o toad_n but_o saint_n john_n say_v here_o that_o the_o dead_a be_v judge_v even_o those_o who_o we_o forget_v and_o who_o sin_n we_o will_v think_v will_v never_o be_v call_v to_o account_v even_o they_o must_v come_v to_o a_o reckon_n in_o the_o next_o place_n saint_n john_n tell_v we_o how_o all_o man_n shall_v be_v try_v and_o according_a to_o what_o sentence_n shall_v be_v award_v namely_o according_a to_o those_o thing_n write_v in_o their_o book_n here_o be_v the_o evidence_n here_o be_v no_o witness_n to_o be_v produce_v for_o a_o man_n conscience_n shall_v be_v even_o as_o good_a as_o a_o thousand_o witness_n now_o what_o be_v here_o mean_v by_o the_o book_n you_o have_v hear_v already_o namely_o the_o particular_a conscience_n of_o every_o man_n and_o woman_n thy_o conscience_n be_v the_o book_n that_o be_v the_o evidence_n no_o other_o witness_n shall_v be_v produce_v but_o even_o thy_o own_o conscience_n again_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v write_v in_o these_o book_n i_o tell_v you_o they_o be_v all_o our_o thought_n word_n and_o work_n not_o only_o our_o gross_a sin_n as_o murder_v etc._n etc._n but_o in_o our_o book_n be_v record_v even_o our_o idle_a in_o a_o readiness_n for_o our_o conscience_n shall_v either_o excuse_v or_o accuse_v we_o at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n 24._o act_n 24._o this_o be_v the_o care_n of_o the_o bless_a apostle_n it_o ought_v to_o persuade_v we_o all_o above_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n to_o look_v unto_o this_o to_o keep_v our_o book_n fair_a for_o if_o our_o conscience_n do_v accuse_v we_o god_n be_v great_a than_o our_o conscience_n and_o do_v know_v all_o thing_n second_o see_v sentence_n must_v pass_v according_a unto_o the_o thing_n write_v in_o our_o book_n and_o these_o be_v not_o only_o the_o gross_a sin_n of_o the_o world_n themselves_o but_o even_o the_o vile_a and_o unclean_a thought_n of_o our_o heart_n even_o these_o must_v come_v to_o judgement_n then_o let_v we_o all_o be_v careful_a to_o avoid_v not_o only_o the_o outward_a action_n themselves_o but_o even_o these_o unclean_a thought_n of_o we_o for_o even_o they_o must_v come_v unto_o judgement_n alas_o man_n think_v nothing_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o judge_n yet_o he_o be_v a_o most_o bountiful_a and_o merciful_a saviour_n he_o will_v crown_v his_o own_o work_n in_o we_o and_o reward_v they_o in_o his_o the_o word_n of_o god_n christ_n do_v promise_v thou_o of_o his_o truth_n he_o will_v not_o let_v thou_o loose_v thy_o reward_n true_a it_o be_v a_o cup_n of_o cold_a water_n be_v a_o mean_a gift_n and_o far_o from_o merit_n yet_o christ_n say_v very_o of_o my_o truth_n thou_o shall_v not_o loose_v thy_o reward_n 10._o math._n 10._o o_o how_o shall_v this_o persuade_v all_o of_o we_o to_o labour_v to_o abound_v in_o all_o holy_a duty_n to_o be_v liberal_a and_o bountiful_a unto_o the_o poor_a member_n of_o christ_n jesus_n see_v our_o good_a work_n though_o they_o can_v merit_v yet_o they_o shall_v be_v reward_v they_o shall_v not_o be_v forget_v in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n they_o be_v sweet_a and_o bless_a companion_n when_o all_o our_o friend_n can_v do_v we_o no_o good_a they_o will_v bring_v endless_a peace_n and_o comfort_n to_o our_o soul_n again_o it_o ought_v to_o terrify_v we_o all_o from_o sin_n from_o evil_a work_n and_o ungodly_a way_n from_o swear_v drunkenness_n uncleanenes_n and_o every_o evil_a way_n for_o if_o we_o be_v full_a of_o these_o and_o these_o be_v find_v write_v in_o our_o book_n o_o then_o woe_n unto_o we_o when_o these_o book_n shall_v come_v to_o be_v open_v for_o than_o nothing_o but_o death_n hell_n and_o damnation_n belong_v unto_o us._n here_o we_o see_v that_o of_o all_o wee_a doctr._n 2_o have_v and_o enjoy_v in_o this_o world_n what_o shall_v go_v with_o we_o when_o we_o die_v what_o shall_v accompany_v thou_o in_o the_o grave_n nay_o at_o the_o terrible_a day_n of_o judgement_n our_o conscience_n our_o work_n and_o our_o book_n nothing_o else_o shall_v go_v with_o us._n when_o thou_o die_v thou_o shall_v not_o take_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n with_o thou_o but_o thy_o work_n which_o be_v engrave_v in_o the_o book_n of_o thy_o conscience_n death_n will_v bar_v all_o the_o rest_n thou_o can_v not_o take_v thy_o gold_n and_o silver_n with_o thou_o nor_o thy_o land_n or_o live_n corn_n nor_o cattle_n all_o these_o must_v stay_v behind_o thou_o at_o what_o time_n thou_o die_v only_a thy_o conscience_n thy_o book_n thy_o work_n must_v go_v with_o thou_o if_o they_o be_v good_a oh_o bless_a not_o and_o mourn_v not_o overmuch_o for_o they_o shall_v rise_v again_o i_o will_v not_o have_v you_o ignorant_a brethren_n concern_v those_o that_o be_v asleep_a that_o you_o shall_v mourn_v at_o of_o god_n spirit_n 8.15_o rom._n 8.15_o you_o have_v not_o receive_v the_o spirit_n of_o bondage_n to_o fear_v again_o but_o you_o have_v etc._n etc._n whereby_o saint_n paul_n tell_v we_o that_o any_o man_n soul_n that_o he_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n it_o will_v make_v he_o cry_v to_o god_n and_o even_o fill_v heaven_n and_o earth_n with_o cry_v and_o tear_n with_o sob_n and_o sigh_n for_o the_o pardon_n of_o his_o sin_n and_o he_o which_o have_v not_o this_o in_o he_o that_o he_o can_v cry_v unto_o god_n for_o pardon_n of_o his_o sin_n this_o man_n can_v not_o true_o assure_v himself_o that_o he_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o though_o man_n say_v they_o hope_v to_o be_v save_v yet_o alas_o they_o seldom_o or_o never_o pray_v unto_o god_n for_o the_o pardon_n of_o their_o sin_n second_o if_o we_o find_v the_o testimony_n of_o god_n spirit_n that_o we_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n it_o will_v make_v we_o not_o only_o to_o be_v earnest_n with_o god_n for_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n but_o it_o will_v make_v we_o cry_v abba_n father_n that_o be_v it_o will_v make_v we_o bear_v the_o tender_a affection_n of_o a_o dutiful_a child_n so_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v afraid_a to_o offend_v so_o love_v a_o father_n and_o therefore_o all_o those_o which_o delight_n in_o sin_n and_o be_v not_o afraid_a to_o offend_v god_n sure_o they_o can_v find_v no_o assurance_n that_o they_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o if_o you_o desire_v to_o be_v assure_v that_o the_o name_n be_v in_o this_o book_n labour_v to_o find_v this_o testimony_n of_o god_n spirit_n to_o witness_v unto_o your_o soul_n that_o you_o belong_v unto_o god_n and_o labour_n to_o be_v earnest_a in_o prayer_n unto_o god_n for_o that_o be_v a_o special_a work_n of_o god_n spirit_n 2.12_o 1._o cor._n 2.12_o the_o second_o mean_n whereby_o we_o may_v know_v whether_o our_o name_n be_v write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o life_n be_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god._n for_o he_o breathe_v and_o can_v judge_v of_o the_o tree_n by_o the_o fruit_n even_o so_o by_o the_o effect_n of_o election_n we_o may_v know_v whether_o our_o name_n be_v in_o the_o book_n of_o life_n or_o not_o now_o the_o fruit_n of_o election_n be_v set_v down_o by_o the_o holie-ghost_n that_o all_o man_n may_v be_v able_a to_o examine_v and_o try_v themselves_o and_o know_v whether_o they_o be_v ordain_v to_o life_n or_o not_o who_o god_n predestinate_v 8.30_o rom._n 8.30_o they_o also_o he_o call_v and_o who_o he_o call_v they_o also_o he_o justify_v and_o who_o he_o justify_v they_o also_o he_o glorify_v where_o we_o may_v behold_v the_o mark_n of_o our_o election_n for_o all_o that_o be_v elect_v to_o life_n eternal_a and_o be_v write_v in_o this_o book_n they_o be_v first_o call_v second_o justify_v and_o three_o sanctify_v so_o then_o if_o you_o will_v know_v whether_o you_o be_v elect_v to_o life_n look_v to_o these_o three_o effect_n of_o election_n be_v thou_o call_v be_v thou_o justify_v be_v thou_o sanctify_v then_o sure_o thou_o be_v elect_v but_o if_o thou_o have_v not_o these_o three_o then_o can_v thou_o not_o assure_v thyself_o of_o thy_o salvation_n so_o then_o the_o first_o fruit_n of_o our_o election_n be_v our_o effectual_a call_v when_o as_o god_n do_v by_o the_o preach_a of_o the_o gospel_n call_v we_o out_o of_o the_o world_n from_o our_o old_a sin_n to_o be_v of_o the_o number_n of_o his_o people_n to_o live_v as_o his_o child_n again_o when_o a_o man_n come_v to_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o word_n to_o see_v his_o sin_n and_o god_n anger_n for_o they_o dislike_v they_o be_v grieve_v for_o they_o bewail_v they_o and_o beg_v the_o pardon_n for_o they_o and_o begin_v to_o become_v a_o new_a man_n to_o believe_v in_o christ_n jesu_n to_o seek_v after_o god_n kingdom_n he_o which_o find_v this_o effectual_a call_n in_o he_o he_o may_v assure_v his_o soul_n that_o he_o be_v predestinate_v to_o eternal_a life_n but_o we_o must_v take_v heed_n that_o we_o deceive_v not_o ourselves_o with_o a_o outward_a call_n for_o our_o saviour_n say_v 22._o mat._n 22._o many_o be_v call_v but_o few_o be_v choose_v many_o do_v hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n with_o the_o ear_n but_o we_o must_v labour_v to_o find_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o preach_v unto_o our_o soul_n to_o apply_v the_o word_n to_o our_o conscience_n to_o believe_v it_o and_o to_o obey_v it_o and_o therefore_o they_o which_o live_v in_o their_o old_a sin_n as_o blind_a ignorant_a and_o profane_a as_o ever_o before_o alas_o how_o can_v they_o think_v to_o be_v save_v see_v god_n choose_v none_o or_o save_v not_o any_o but_o who_o he_o call_v effectual_o by_o the_o gospel_n 2.13_o 2_o thess_n 2.13_o and_o sever_v from_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o world_n second_o the_o fruit_n of_o election_n be_v justification_n for_o who_o he_o predestinate_v they_o he_o call_v so_o then_o here_o be_v a_o other_o token_n and_o mark_n to_o know_v whether_o we_o be_v elect_v namely_o or_o justify_v now_o this_o be_v
they_o all_o thou_o can_v not_o take_v one_o piece_n of_o gold_n or_o silver_n with_o thou_o but_o all_o must_v be_v leave_v behind_o only_o thy_o conscience_n only_o thy_o book_n only_o thy_o work_n must_v accompany_v thou_o o_o then_o what_o madness_n be_v this_o to_o seek_v and_o hunt_v after_o such_o thing_n as_o can_v help_v we_o nor_o stand_v we_o in_o no_o stead_n in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n nay_o if_o they_o be_v get_v or_o keep_v with_o a_o bad_a conscience_n they_o will_v be_v a_o very_a terror_n unto_o thou_o at_o the_o last_o o_o then_o let_v we_o look_v to_o ourselves_o let_v we_o not_o set_v our_o heart_n too_o much_o upon_o these_o thing_n which_o can_v profit_v we_o in_o this_o hot_a fiery_a day_n of_o trial_n why_o shall_v we_o be_v so_o foolish_a to_o set_v our_o heart_n upon_o that_o can_v help_v we_o nay_o which_o we_o must_v leave_v behind_o us._n and_o for_o faith_n that_o which_o may_v be_v our_o comfort_n both_o in_o life_n and_o death_n and_o in_o the_o dreadful_a day_n of_o judgement_n i_o mean_v a_o good_a conscience_n which_o as_o it_o be_v a_o bless_a and_o a_o sweet_a companion_n in_o life_n and_o death_n so_o it_o will_v be_v a_o bless_a comfort_n to_o our_o poor_a soul_n at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n o_o than_o i_o beseech_v you_o again_o and_o again_o see_v that_o nothing_o shall_v go_v with_o you_o unto_o judgement_n but_o only_o your_o work_n let_v we_o lay_v aside_o our_o immoderate_a care_n for_o the_o world_n yea_o and_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n for_o these_o must_v stay_v behind_o we_o and_o can_v help_v we_o in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n let_v we_o labour_v for_o better_a thing_n for_o durable_a treasure_n for_o a_o good_a conscience_n to_o abound_v in_o good_a work_n in_o knowledge_n faith_n and_o repentance_n let_v we_o take_v heed_n we_o be_v not_o find_v naked_a of_o these_o o_o what_o a_o woeful_a case_n be_v they_o in_o that_o have_v nothing_o in_o the_o world_n to_o go_v with_o they_o to_o judgement_n but_o a_o evil_a heart_n a_o gall_a conscience_n full_a of_o all_o uncleanenes_n their_o state_n be_v most_o woeful_a and_o miserable_a it_o have_v be_v good_a for_o they_o that_o they_o have_v never_o be_v bear_v here_o may_v a_o question_n be_v move_v how_o this_o say_n of_o saint_n john_n can_v stand_v with_o that_o of_o our_o saviour_n john_n 3.18_o he_o that_o believe_v shall_v not_o come_v into_o judgement_n but_o he_o that_o believe_v not_o be_v condemn_v already_o now_o then_o if_o the_o faithful_a child_n of_o god_n shall_v not_o come_v into_o judgement_n and_o the_o wicked_a unbeliever_n be_v condemn_v already_o how_o say_v he_o that_o all_o shall_v be_v judge_v at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n i_o answer_v it_o be_v true_a that_o the_o good_a and_o bad_a that_o so_o we_o may_v leave_v the_o one_o and_o do_v the_o other_o oh_o what_o a_o woeful_a case_n be_v all_o they_o in_o which_o be_v ignorant_a in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n blind_a man_n and_o woman_n without_o knowledge_n they_o know_v not_o what_o be_v good_a or_o evil_n and_o therefore_o say_v the_o apostle_n paul_n 2._o thess_n 1._o that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n will_v come_v in_o a_o flame_n of_o fire_n to_o render_v vengeance_n to_o they_o which_o know_v he_o not_o and_o obey_v not_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o therefore_o as_o you_o do_v love_v shall_v rise_v again_o man_n that_o have_v be_v drown_v fish_n have_v eat_v they_o &_o man_n again_o perhaps_o have_v eat_v the_o fish_n and_o they_o that_o have_v be_v burn_v to_o ash_n their_o ash_n have_v be_v scatter_v who_o know_v whither_o how_o then_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o they_o to_o arise_v again_o indeed_o the_o profane_a atheist_n and_o filthy_a epicure_n be_v not_o ashamed_a â—o_o say_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o resurrection_n but_o when_o a_o man_n die_v there_o be_v a_o end_n of_o all_o his_o joy_n and_o of_o all_o his_o misery_n but_o that_o the_o dead_a shall_v rise_v again_o be_v a_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n we_o believe_v the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a and_o so_o we_o know_v it_o be_v a_o special_a point_n of_o god_n glory_n in_o mercy_n to_o reward_v his_o poor_a child_n and_o in_o punish_v in_o judgement_n the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a but_o as_o solomon_n say_v in_o this_o life_n all_o thing_n happen_v alike_o to_o the_o just_a and_o unjust_a nay_o oftentimes_o dives_fw-la be_v full_a and_o at_o ease_n when_o lazarus_n be_v empty_a and_o in_o misery_n how_o then_o shall_v god_n be_v just_a if_o he_o shall_v suffer_v his_o poor_a
