be_v not_o enough_o to_o keep_v soul_n within_o the_o circle_n and_o bound_n of_o morality_n but_o the_o other_o thing_n be_v neither_o subject_n to_o the_o demonstration_n of_o sense_n or_o reason_n it_o be_v most_o irrational_a to_o plead_v for_o a_o power_n in_o the_o will_n of_o man_n to_o choose_v they_o the_o sweetness_n of_o what_o the_o lapse_v soul_n in_o its_o state_n of_o alienation_n from_o god_n taste_v in_o sensible_a satisfaction_n be_v a_o thing_n evident_a to_o sense_n and_o it_o be_v
2_o cor._n 12._o 6._o lest_o as_o he_o say_v any_o shall_v think_v of_o i_o above_o that_o which_o he_o see_v in_o i_o or_o that_o he_o hear_v of_o i_o we_o be_v to_o have_v a_o care_n of_o the_o corruption_n of_o other_o heart_n as_o well_o as_o our_o own_o 3._o look_v to_o the_o simplicity_n of_o thy_o heart_n in_o the_o end_n of_o thy_o action_n this_o will_v indeed_o be_v much_o regulate_v from_o the_o principle_n if_o the_o principle_n be_v true_a the_o end_n will_v be_v so_o a_o man_n can_v do_v nothing_o out_o of_o a_o true_a principle_n of_o love_n to_o god_n but_o his_o end_n will_v be_v the_o honour_n and_o glory_n of_o god_n if_o the_o principle_n be_v self-love_n the_o end_n will_v be_v our_o own_o honour_n praise_n and_o applause_n to_o have_v the_o reputation_n of_o a_o religious_a man_n in_o the_o world_n and_o to_o appear_v to_o be_v what_o indeed_o we_o be_v not_o now_o if_o thy_o end_n be_v the_o honour_n and_o glory_n of_o god_n you_o have_v hear_v that_o be_v no_o other_o way_n attainable_a but_o either_o by_o the_o predication_n of_o his_o goodness_n or_o by_o the_o do_n of_o his_o will_n either_o in_o the_o do_v good_a to_o other_o or_o the_o i_o alone_o give_v testimony_n of_o myself_o my_o testimony_n be_v not_o true_a so_o often_o in_o precept_n and_o exhortation_n when_o thou_o make_v a_o feast_n say_v our_o saviour_n luk._n 14._o 12._o call_v not_o thy_o friend_n or_o thy_o brethren_n or_o thy_o kindred_n that_o be_v not_o they_o alone_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o ordinary_a in_o the_o phrase_n of_o scripture_n and_o to_o another_o and_o that_o sympathy_n which_o shall_v be_v find_v betwixt_o the_o member_n hence_o we_o be_v command_v by_o the_o apostle_n to_o rejoice_v with_o those_o who_o rejoice_v and_o to_o will_v every_o good_a christian_a be_v affect_v at_o the_o case_n of_o his_o brother_n fall_v though_o he_o possible_o have_v not_o that_o due_a sense_n of_o his_o own_o fall_n which_o he_o shall_v have_v and_o at_o the_o case_n of_o the_o church_n under_o its_o blackness_n though_o possible_o the_o ruler_n or_o generality_n of_o the_o member_n be_v not_o so_o sensible_a of_o their_o own_o corruption_n and_o deviation_n and_o to_o look_v upon_o the_o spouse_n of_o christ_n in_o her_o blackness_n with_o a_o mournful_a pity_v and_o compassionate_a eye_n be_v very_o much_o the_o duty_n of_o every_o good_a christian_a and_o what_o we_o find_v the_o constant_a and_o religious_a practice_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n at_o all_o time_n 2._o we_o may_v so_o far_o look_v upon_o the_o to_o look_v upon_o the_o spouse_n because_o she_o be_v black_a 3._o last_o it_o be_v christian_n duty_n to_o look_v upon_o the_o spouse_n because_o she_o be_v black_a so_o far_a as_o to_o enable_v we_o in_o any_o measure_n to_o the_o purge_n out_o their_o corruption_n a_o good_a christian_n ought_v so_o far_o to_o consider_v the_o corruption_n of_o a_o church_n as_o in_o his_o place_n to_o endeavour_v its_o reformation_n and_o consequent_o it_o can_v be_v his_o duty_n to_o have_v communion_n with_o she_o in_o those_o thing_n wherein_o she_o deviate_v from_o the_o rule_n of_o her_o lord_n it_o be_v true_a the_o effectual_a authoritative_a reformation_n of_o a_o national_a church_n belong_v to_o the_o ruler_n if_o they_o be_v christian_n as_o appear_v by_o all_o the_o instance_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n concern_v the_o king_n of_o judah_n and_o such_o a_o reformation_n of_o a_o particular_a church_n or_o congregation_n belong_v to_o the_o officer_n of_o christ_n in_o it_o but_o every_o private_a christian_a have_v his_o part_n viz._n to_o inform_v such_o in_o who_o the_o power_n be_v to_o bear_v a_o testimony_n against_o such_o corruption_n and_o not_o to_o have_v fellowship_n with_o the_o church_n in_o such_o thing_n i_o can_v grant_v that_o all_o corruption_n in_o the_o doctrine_n worship_n or_o discipline_n of_o a_o church_n be_v a_o sufficient_a cause_n to_o conclude_v it_o no_o true_a church_n and_o whole_o to_o withdraw_v himself_o from_o the_o communion_n of_o it_o but_o i_o doubt_v not_o to_o say_v that_o it_o be_v my_o duty_n to_o withdraw_v communion_n from_o a_o church_n in_o such_o act_n as_o without_o sin_n i_o can_v have_v communion_n with_o it_o but_o of_o this_o more_o by_o and_o by_o the_o case_n be_v the_o same_o in_o the_o
