of_o condition_n it_o be_v true_a all_o of_o they_o have_v not_o a_o like_a clear_a and_o firm_a apprehension_n of_o their_o happy_a and_o sure_a estate_n and_o scarce_o any_o of_o they_o be_v alike_o at_o all_o time_n yet_o they_o have_v all_o and_o always_o the_o same_o right_n to_o this_o estate_n and_o to_o the_o comfort_n of_o it_o and_o when_o they_o stand_v in_o a_o right_a light_n to_o view_v it_o they_o do_v see_v it_o so_o and_o rejoice_v in_o it_o there_o be_v indeed_o some_o kind_n of_o assurance_n that_o be_v more_o rare_a and_o extraordinary_a some_o immediate_a glance_n or_o coâ—uscations_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o believer_n a_o smile_n of_o his_o countenance_n and_o this_o do_v exceed_o refresh_v yea_o ravish_v the_o soul_n and_o enable_v it_o mighty_o for_o duty_n and_o suffering_n these_o he_o dispense_v arbitrary_o and_o free_o where_o and_o when_o he_o will_v some_o weak_a christian_n sometime_o have_v they_o while_o strong_a be_v stranger_n to_o they_o the_o lord_n train_v they_o to_o live_v more_o content_o by_o faith_n till_o the_o day_n of_o vision_n come_v and_o that_o be_v the_o other_o the_o less_o ecstatical_a but_o the_o more_o constant_a and_o fix_a kind_n of_o assurance_n the_o proper_a assurance_n of_o faith_n the_o soul_n by_o believe_v cleave_v unto_o god_n in_o christ_n as_o he_o offer_v himself_o in_o the_o gospel_n and_o thence_o be_v possess_v with_o a_o sweet_a and_o calm_a persuasion_n of_o his_o love_n that_o be_v the_o proper_a work_n to_o appropriate_v he_o to_o make_v christ_n and_o in_o he_o eternal_a life_n we_o so_o it_o be_v the_o proper_a result_n and_o fruit_n of_o that_o its_o act_n especial_o when_o it_o act_v any_o thing_n strong_o to_o quiet_a the_o soul_n in_o he_o then_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n we_o have_v peace_n with_o god_n through_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o from_o that_o peace_n joy_n yea_o even_o glory_v in_o tribulation_n as_o there_o follow_v and_o these_o spring_a not_o from_o a_o extraordinary_a sense_n or_o view_v but_o from_o the_o very_a innate_a virtue_n of_o faith_n work_v kind_o and_o according_a to_o its_o own_o nature_n therefore_o many_o christian_n do_v prejudice_v their_o own_o comfort_n and_o darken_v their_o spirit_n by_o not_o give_v freedom_n to_o faith_n to_o act_v according_a to_o its_o nature_n and_o proper_a principle_n they_o will_v not_o believe_v till_o they_o find_v some_o evidence_n or_o assurance_n which_o be_v quite_o to_o invert_v the_o order_n of_o the_o thing_n and_o to_o look_v for_o fruit_n without_o settle_v a_o root_n for_o it_o to_o grow_v from_o will_v you_o take_v christ_n upon_o the_o absolute_a word_n of_o promise_n tender_v he_o to_o you_o and_o rest_n on_o he_o so_o this_o will_v engraft_v you_o into_o life_n itself_o for_o that_o he_o be_v and_o so_o those_o fruit_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n will_v bud_v and_o flourish_v in_o your_o heart_n from_o that_o very_o believe_v on_o he_o will_v arise_v this_o persuasion_n yea_o even_o to_o a_o gloriation_n and_o a_o humble_a boast_n in_o his_o love_n who_o shall_v accuse_v who_o shall_v condemn_v who_o shall_v separate_v the_o undivided_a companion_n and_o undoubted_a helper_n and_o preserver_n of_o this_o confidence_n of_o faith_n be_v a_o active_a love_n to_o christ_n a_o constant_a study_n of_o holiness_n and_o strife_n against_o sin_n which_o be_v the_o grand_a enemy_n of_o faith_n that_o obstruct_v the_o very_a vital_a spirit_n of_o faith_n that_o make_v it_o sickly_a and_o heavy_a in_o its_o act_n and_o cause_v the_o palsy_n in_o the_o hand_n of_o faith_n that_o it_o can_v lay_v so_o fast_o hold_v therefore_o this_o you_o will_v be_v careful_a of_o yea_o know_v that_o of_o necessity_n it_o attend_v faith_n and_o as_o faith_n grow_v holiness_n will_v grow_v and_o holiness_n grow_v will_v mutual_o strengthen_v and_o establish_v faith_n the_o comfort_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v holy_a purify_n comfort_n and_o the_o more_o the_o soul_n be_v purify_v and_o make_v holy_a the_o more_o be_v it_o clear_v and_o enlarge_v to_o receive_v much_o of_o these_o comfort_n bless_a be_v the_o pure_a heart_n they_o shall_v see_v god_n unholiness_n be_v as_o damp_n and_o filthy_a mist_n in_o the_o soul_n it_o darken_v all_o hence_o it_o be_v evident_a in_o what_o way_n christian_n may_v and_o aught_o to_o aspire_v to_o this_o assurance_n it_o be_v their_o portion_n and_o in_o this_o way_n they_o be_v to_o aspire_v to_o it_o and_o shall_v find_v it_o if_o not_o present_o yet_o let_v they_o wait_v and_o go_v on_o in_o this_o way_n they_o shall_v not_o miscarry_v again_o it_o appear_v that_o this_o assurance_n be_v no_o enemy_n to_o holy_a diligence_n nor_o friend_n of_o carnal_a
