the_o earth_n be_v his_o footstool_n not_o that_o he_o have_v any_o foot_n nor_o any_o seat_n to_o sit_v on_o but_o it_o serve_v to_o show_v that_o there_o be_v no_o distance_n so_o far_o or_o wide_o that_o can_v contain_v the_o majesty_n of_o god_n which_o be_v infinite_a as_o i_o say_v that_o be_v a_o thing_n which_o we_o must_v bear_v in_o mind_n when_o god_n be_v speak_v of_o unto_o we_o and_o why_o then_o be_v it_o say_v that_o god_n be_v above_o all_o the_o heaven_n and_o why_o do_v saint_n paul_n speak_v after_o the_o same_o manner_n here_o of_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v because_o that_o we_o be_v dull_a and_o earthly_a that_o if_o god_n shall_v not_o tell_v we_o that_o he_o have_v his_o temple_n &_o palace_n in_o heaven_n we_o will_v tie_v he_o too_o every_o pillar_n to_o every_o stone_n too_o every_o waterspring_n too_o every_o tree_n &_o too_o be_v short_a too_o
of_o his_o live_n albeit_o that_o he_o have_v erst_o do_v nothing_o but_o sit_v still_o and_o get_v his_o live_n by_o devyze_a mischief_n yet_o let_v he_o not_o be_v ashamed_a too_o labour_n and_o wherewith_o to_o get_v our_o live_n without_o use_v of_o wicked_a practice_n we_o must_v now_o and_o then_o spare_v somewhat_o of_o that_o which_o god_n give_v we_o through_o his_o blessing_n too_o relieve_v the_o needy_a withal_o therefore_o let_v we_o not_o look_v whereunto_o we_o be_v incline_v but_o let_v we_o consider_v that_o of_o our_o own_o nature_n we_o be_v so_o froward_a and_o wed_a as_o have_v need_n howbeit_o saint_n paul_n add_v here_o yet_o one_o circumstance_n more_o which_o deserve_v to_o be_v well_o note_v and_o that_o be_v that_o he_o will_v have_v we_o to_o labour_v in_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a and_o why_o add_v he_o that_o let_v we_o consider_v what_o a_o number_n of_o trade_n craft_n or_o occupation_n there_o be_v in_o the_o world_n which_o serve_v for_o nothing_o but_o corruption_n and_o to_o toll_v in_o penny_n as_o they_o say_v true_o man_n be_v not_o aware_a of_o it_o and_o why_o because_o all_o man_n be_v content_v that_o such_o as_o have_v wherewith_o shall_v be_v prodigal_a too_o the_o intent_n that_o their_o money_n may_v fly_v abroad_o again_o such_o as_o too_o their_o own_o seem_n can_v get_v their_o live_n otherwise_o be_v invent_v of_o new_a device_n every_o day_n too_o angle_v the_o money_n out_o of_o fool_n purse_n and_o of_o such_o as_o be_v so_o give_v too_o lightness_n again_o they_o that_o have_v wherewith_o will_v with_o his_o holy_a spirit_n that_o then_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o it_o be_v so_o often_o say_v that_o god_n spirit_n seal_v up_o the_o inheritance_n of_o our_o salvation_n in_o our_o heart_n and_o jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v the_o husband_n too_o who_o all_o of_o we_o be_v marry_v and_o therefore_o let_v he_o not_o be_v rigorous_a towards_o his_o wife_n see_v that_o he_o himself_o deserve_v too_o be_v so_o humble_v too_o be_v short_a let_v every_o man_n so_o mind_n this_o doctrine_n that_o when_o the_o husband_n have_v not_o all_o thing_n in_o his_o wife_n that_o he_o desire_v he_o may_v portion_n because_o she_o be_v worthy_a of_o it_o and_o let_v she_o also_o enter_v into_o examination_n of_o her_o sin_n that_o she_o may_v pray_v god_n too_o take_v away_o that_o rod_n and_o too_o deal_v more_o gentle_o with_o she_o then_o like_a as_o the_o wife_n must_v on_o her_o side_n continue_v the_o bond_n of_o marriage_n and_o submit_v herself_o even_o without_o respect_v what_o her_o husband_n be_v so_o when_o the_o husband_n have_v not_o a_o wife_n too_o his_o like_n let_v he_o think_v likewise_o my_o wife_n do_v not_o her_o duty_n i_o can_v live_v with_o she_o but_o yet_o do_v wedlock_n dure_v still_o who_o ordain_v it_o god_n then_o if_o i_o forget_v my_o duty_n and_o revenge_v i_o of_o my_o wife_n or_o fall_v too_o stoutness_n without_o regard_v what_o belong_v too_o my_o let_v not_o only_o marry_v folk_n but_o also_o all_o man_n in_o general_n understand_v that_o we_o can_v estrange_v ourselves_o one_o from_o another_o and_o become_v unkind_a merciless_a and_o unpatient_a one_o towards_o another_o but_o we_o must_v be_v as_o witless_a creature_n that_o have_v no_o reason_n nor_o regard_n from_o whence_o they_o come_v or_o to_o what_o end_n we_o live_v in_o in_o near_a bond_n as_o i_o have_v say_v afore_o and_o if_o any_o body_n reply_v heereuntoo_o â—ush_o he_o or_o he_o be_v not_o myself_o i_o answer_v then_o must_v it_o needs_o follow_v that_o thou_o be_v no_o man_n for_o as_o i_o say_v afore_o god_n create_v and_o maintain_v of_o we_o be_v with_o condition_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v all_o as_o one_o mass_n for_o though_o there_o be_v many_o finger_n and_o many_o sâ—â—ewes_n in_o a_o man_n body_n yet_o be_v that_o no_o let_v but_o that_o they_o be_v all_o one_o thing_n neither_o be_v it_o any_o impeachment_n why_o one_o member_n shall_v not_o succour_v another_o as_o well_o as_o itself_o for_o it_o be_v unkind_o that_o the_o body_n shall_v fall_v too_o band_v and_o too_o devide_v of_o itself_o into_o faction_n neither_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o it_o shall_v so_o then_o if_o every_o of_o we_o be_v so_o wed_v to_o his_o own_o profit_n that_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o he_o disdain_n other_o through_o pride_n or_o else_o be_v cruel_a so_o as_o if_o he_o see_v all_o the_o misery_n in_o the_o world_n he_o have_v no_o compassion_n too_o relieve_v they_o nor_o can_v find_v in_o his_o harâ—_n to_o bear_v with_o any_o thing_n or_o to_o forgive_v it_o be_v it_o not_o a_o sign_n that_o we_o have_v forget_v our_o own_o nature_n wherefore_o too_o the_o intent_n we_o may_v fare_v the_o better_a by_o this_o doctrine_n let_v we_o weigh_v well_o these_o word_n of_o saint_n paul_n that_o never_o any_o man_n hate_v his_o own_o flesh_n but_o that_o every_o man_n nourish_v and_o cherish_v it_o need_n we_o a_o schoolmaster_n too_o afore_o and_o if_o this_o be_v general_a for_o all_o what_o shall_v become_v of_o it_o when_o the_o son_n set_v himself_o with_o all_o outrage_n and_o stubbornness_n against_o his_o father_n so_o as_o he_o have_v no_o meekness_n too_o suffer_v himself_o too_o be_v govern_v by_o he_o but_o even_o utter_o shake_v he_o of_o for_o who_o he_o ought_v to_o spend_v himself_o even_o too_o the_o death_n also_o when_o the_o father_n on_o their_o side_n use_v nothing_o but_o bitterness_n toward_o their_o child_n or_o govern_v they_o in_o such_o wise_n as_o they_o do_v but_o provoke_v they_o to_o impatience_n when_o the_o husband_n deal_n so_o rough_o with_o their_o wife_n as_o it_o may_v utter_o discourage_v they_o and_o cast_v they_o into_o sorrow_n so_o as_o they_o shall_v let_v themselves_o loose_a and_o fall_v disorder_o too_o all_o manner_n of_o lewdness_n when_o the_o woman_n likewise_o be_v stiffnecked_a and_o can_v be_v bring_v to_o good_a order_n i_o say_v when_o these_o disorder_n be_v among_o we_o let_v we_o assure_v ourselves_o there_o need_v none_o other_o record_n too_o condemn_v we_o than_o the_o
care_n that_o every_o of_o we_o have_v have_v of_o himself_o in_o that_o we_o have_v be_v mindful_a of_o our_o own_o welfare_n and_o labour_v earnest_o for_o it_o and_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n break_v the_o bond_n that_o our_o lord_n have_v set_v among_o we_o and_o every_o of_o we_o draw_v alone_o by_o himself_o and_o forget_v all_o duty_n of_o love_a kindness_n insomuch_o that_o we_o will_v if_o we_o have_v can_v have_v make_v every_o of_o we_o a_o new_a world_n true_o there_o be_v no_o man_n of_o that_o ability_n that_o he_o can_v forbear_v the_o help_n of_o his_o neighbour_n and_o yet_o be_v we_o loath_a that_o our_o neighbour_n shall_v dwell_v with_o we_o yea_o or_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v count_v in_o the_o number_n of_o man_n there_o be_v not_o that_o man_n which_o of_o our_o flesh_n in_o respect_n that_o he_o have_v take_v our_o humane_a nature_n upon_o he_o and_o clothe_v himself_o with_o it_o without_o the_o which_o we_o shall_v have_v no_o alliance_n with_o he_o for_o if_o we_o can_v attain_v too_o the_o angel_n how_o shall_v we_o attain_v too_o he_o that_o be_v the_o soverein_o head_n of_o they_o but_o whereas_o he_o be_v come_v in_o such_o wise_n unto_o we_o that_o he_o have_v vouchsafe_v to_o be_v knit_v in_o the_o bond_n of_o brotherhood_n with_o we_o that_o be_v do_v special_o when_o he_o work_v so_o by_o the_o power_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n that_o he_o be_v our_o head_n and_o we_o be_v gather_v together_o in_o he_o and_o have_v a_o heavenly_a state_n and_o whereas_o afore_o we_o have_v nothing_o but_o of_o the_o earh_n and_o consequent_o have_v nothing_o in_o we_o but_o corruption_n now_o we_o be_v lift_v up_o on_o high_a and_o be_v make_v the_o child_n of_o god_n by_o the_o grace_n that_o be_v speak_v of_o here_o whereas_o erst_o we_o be_v heir_n of_o his_o wrath_n which_o we_o hold_v from_o our_o father_n adam_n when_o we_o follow_v his_o nature_n because_o we_o be_v all_o lose_v and_o pervert_v in_o he_o thus_o you_o see_v in_o effect_n how_o the_o two_o thing_n be_v too_o be_v agree_v wherein_o there_o seem_v too_o be_v some_o diversity_n and_o in_o deed_n if_o we_o have_v not_o that_o what_o will_v become_v of_o we_o how_o miserable_a will_v our_o state_n be_v i_o have_v show_v already_o that_o if_o any_o man_n look_v well_o what_o be_v in_o himself_o he_o shall_v find_v nothing_o there_o but_o matter_n too_o separate_v he_o from_o god_n now_o then_o until_o we_o be_v of_o the_o substance_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n god_n must_v needs_o hate_v we_o and_o abhor_v we_o and_o not_o know_v we_o too_o be_v of_o the_o number_n and_o company_n of_o his_o creature_n now_o remain_v too_o see_v how_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o we_o be_v of_o the_o bone_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o of_o his_o flesh_n for_o he_o be_v in_o heaven_n and_o we_o be_v here_o beneath_o on_o earth_n again_o when_o we_o be_v beget_v every_o of_o we_o be_v beget_v after_o the_o order_n of_o nature_n he_o have_v his_o father_n and_o his_o mother_n too_o come_v of_o and_o they_o be_v of_o the_o same_o race_n that_o he_o be_v how_o then_o be_v we_o of_o the_o bone_n of_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v not_o in_o respect_n of_o substance_n for_o if_o we_o look_v upon_o our_o own_o flesh_n neither_o the_o skin_n nor_o the_o bone_n nor_o the_o gristle_n that_o we_o have_v do_v come_v of_o the_o body_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n but_o it_o be_v in_o respect_n that_o the_o cursedness_n which_o we_o bring_v from_o our_o moother_n womb_n and_o be_v spread_v over_o all_o adam_n lineage_n be_v take_v away_o by_o the_o power_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o that_o therewithal_o he_o have_v so_o shed_v forth_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n upon_o we_o that_o we_o be_v enlighten_v by_o it_o therefore_o it_o be_v as_o a_o quality_n as_o man_n term_v it_o &_o not_o a_o substance_n every_o man_n shall_v descend_v of_o such_o lineage_n and_o god_n let_v the_o common_a order_n run_v on_o still_o which_o he_o appoint_v at_o the_o beginning_n namely_o that_o man_n beget_v one_o another_o from_o issue_n too_o issue_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n jesus_n christ_n 〈◊〉_d he_o shall_v live_v in_o we_o as_o saint_n paul_n say_v of_o he_o you_o see_v then_o that_o jesus_n christ_n need_v not_o too_o come_v down_o from_o heaven_n too_o make_v we_o member_n of_o his_o body_n nor_o too_o diminish_v his_o own_o flesh_n too_o make_v we_o too_o grow_v out_o of_o he_o and_o too_o be_v shape_v of_o he_o for_o all_o be_v do_v by_o the_o wonderful_a power_n of_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v fashion_v like_o unto_o the_o glory_n that_o be_v now_o in_o he_o but_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o he_o work_v in_o such_o wise_n as_o we_o have_v all_o our_o strength_n continual_o of_o he_o and_o like_o as_o tree_n draw_v both_o their_o flower_n their_o leaf_n and_o their_o fruit_n from_o their_o root_n and_o like_a as_o the_o body_n of_o man_n feel_v his_o strength_n too_o flow_v down_o from_o the_o head_n so_o do_v we_o feel_v the_o virtue_n and_o force_v of_o the_o conjunction_n that_o be_v between_o we_o and_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o yet_o he_o continue_v still_o in_o his_o full_a state_n all_o the_o while_n neither_o do_v that_o hinder_v we_o too_o enjoy_v the_o inestimable_a benefit_n that_o s._n paul_n magnify_v so_o much_o in_o this_o text_n and_o therewithal_o let_v we_o bear_v this_o point_n in_o mind_n that_o it_o be_v much_o when_o we_o be_v inward_o stir_v up_o to_o do_v every_o man_n his_o duty_n for_o thereby_o he_o and_o that_o not_o only_o i_o be_o he_o but_o also_o he_o be_v i_o so_o as_o his_o life_n belong_v too_o i_o and_o too_o be_v short_a i_o be_o as_o if_o i_o be_v a_o member_n of_o his_o body_n see_v then_o that_o man_n in_o do_v their_o duty_n towards_o their_o wife_n and_o wife_n also_o in_o obey_v their_o husband_n may_v behold_v how_o they_o be_v join_v unto_o christ_n and_o that_o
