nature_n to_o keep_v the_o law_n to_o die_v and_o to_o bleed_v be_v propriety_n of_o the_o humane_a nature_n of_o christ_n now_o we_o may_v not_o say_v that_o the_o humane_a nature_n of_o christ_n know_v all_o thing_n be_v omnipotent_a etc._n etc._n nor_o that_o the_o divine_a nature_n be_v obedient_a bléede_v die_v etc._n etc._n and_o yet_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o personal_a union_n of_o these_o two_o nature_n in_o christ_n we_o say_v that_o the_o person_n which_o have_v these_o two_o nature_n which_o be_v christ_n the_o son_n of_o god_n know_v all_o thing_n be_v present_a every_o of_o repentance_n be_v perpetual_o mortification_n of_o the_o old_a man_n and_o vivification_n of_o the_o new_a if_o you_o shall_v desire_v to_o know_v the_o manner_n how_o god_n work_v repentance_n understand_v that_o first_o by_o preach_v of_o the_o law_n and_o sometime_o by_o cross_n punishment_n etc._n etc._n the_o conscience_n be_v terrify_v for_o sin_n and_o be_v sorrowful_a but_o in_o a_o worldly_a manner_n for_o fear_n of_o wrath_n for_o the_o law_n can_v work_v no_o otherwise_o then_o by_o the_o promise_n of_o the_o gospel_n the_o conscience_n be_v chéer_v through_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n in_o assurance_n of_o mercy_n the_o sense_n whereof_o breed_v a_o other_o sorrow_n different_a from_o that_o wrought_v by_o the_o law_n call_v godly_a sorrow_n which_o be_v when_o we_o be_v grieve_v for_o sin_n not_o so_o much_o because_o of_o the_o wrath_n follow_v as_o because_o thereby_o we_o have_v offend_v so_o gracious_a a_o father_n and_o then_o follow_v repentance_n which_o be_v a_o change_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o purpose_n unto_o a_o continual_a care_n and_o endeavour_n to_o hate_v all_o evil_a 7.10_o 2._o cor._n 7.10_o and_o to_o avoid_v it_o to_o love_v all_o goodness_n remain_v as_o corrupt_v and_o as_o willing_a if_o it_o be_v not_o for_o the_o law_n to_o sin_n as_o ever_o before_o whereas_o the_o godly_a sorrow_n which_o come_v from_o the_o gospel_n change_v the_o very_a inclination_n and_o purpose_n of_o the_o heart_n to_o hate_v sin_n and_o love_v goodness_n and_o to_o continue_v increase_v in_o such_o grace_n though_o there_o be_v no_o law_n to_o condemn_v nor_o hell_n to_o torment_v etc._n 2._o cor._n 7.11_o etc._n etc._n examine_v then_o thy_o repentance_n hereby_o and_o by_o the_o note_n use_v 2._o remember_v that_o the_o sum_n of_o of_o a_o christian_n duty_n be_v to_o eschew_v evil_a 1.16.17_o psal_n 34.14_o esa_n 1.16.17_o and_o to_o do_v good_a and_o deceive_v not_o thyself_o with_o those_o same_o half_a christian_n who_o further_a obedience_n be_v to_o keep_v themselves_o not_o unspotted_a for_o they_o regard_v not_o spot_n but_o undetect_v of_o gross_a evil_n such_o for_o the_o which_o man_n be_v carry_v to_o the_o jail_n who_o though_o they_o abound_v with_o small_a fault_n as_o they_o term_v they_o have_v profane_a heart_n and_o destitute_a of_o love_n to_o the_o truth_n and_o do_v no_o good_a think_v themselves_o among_o the_o forward_a of_o such_o who_o shall_v be_v save_v but_o soft_a the_o first_o step_n to_o heaven_n in_o the_o practice_n of_o obedience_n be_v to_o depart_v from_o evil_n but_o he_o that_o set_v but_o one_o step_n and_o that_o a_o ill-favoured_a one_o too_o be_v never_o like_a to_o come_v there_o mend_v that_o step_n and_o depart_v from_o all_o evil_a and_o step_v again_o do_v the_o good_a and_o so_o walk_v on_o &_o then_o the_o reward_n be_v thou_o if_o thou_o hold_v not_o up_o thy_o hand_n to_o any_o strange_a god_n but_o if_o thou_o worship_v not_o the_o true_a god_n thou_o can_v not_o be_v save_v if_o thou_o plowe_v not_o and_o go_v not_o to_o cart_n on_o the_o sabaoth_n day_n it_o be_v well_o but_o if_o thou_o do_v not_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o sabaoth_n in_o the_o public_a and_o private_a worship_n of_o god_n thou_o may_v be_v damn_v as_o therefore_o we_o do_v not_o content_v ourselves_o that_o no_o weed_n be_v in_o our_o garden_n unless_o there_o be_v good_a out_o of_o his_o head_n and_o his_o limb_n to_o be_v tear_v from_o his_o body_n therefore_o call_v mortification_n and_o crucify_a the_o flesh_n with_o the_o lust_n etc._n etc._n it_o be_v not_o a_o
