whereas_o christ_n fast_v for_o thou_o thou_o will_v have_v thy_o meal_n therefore_o i_o say_v it_o be_v no_o small_a offence_n to_o break_v that_o fast_o which_o be_v enjoin_v us._n here_o we_o may_v learn_v two_o thing_n first_o that_o the_o father_n ground_v their_o fast_n of_o lent_n upon_o the_o example_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n let_v they_o show_v any_o other_o reason_n which_o refuse_v to_o fast_o say_v ambrose_n why_o christ_n fast_v forty_o day_n but_o for_o our_o learning_n and_o to_o give_v we_o a_o example_n again_o it_o seem_v to_o they_o a_o very_a absurd_a thing_n that_o christ_n shall_v fast_v forty_o day_n for_o we_o and_o that_o we_o as_o near_o as_o we_o can_v shall_v not_o follow_v he_o and_o fast_o forty_o day_n for_o ourselves_o second_o that_o when_o they_o fast_v they_o dine_v not_o but_o defer_v their_o dinner_n till_o night_n and_o that_o which_o shall_v have_v be_v for_o their_o dinner_n they_o use_v to_o give_v to_o the_o poor_a as_o appear_v by_o another_o place_n where_o he_o speak_v at_o large_a of_o the_o manner_n of_o their_o fast_n we_o must_v know_v my_o brethren_n that_o this_o fast_o be_v acceptable_a to_o god_n not_o only_o that_o we_o shall_v tame_v our_o body_n through_o abstinence_n 33._o tom._n 3._o ser_n 33._o but_o also_o that_o we_o shall_v put_v humility_n upon_o our_o soul_n let_v we_o be_v gentle_a to_o our_o servant_n courteous_a to_o stranger_n merciful_a to_o the_o poor_a rise_v very_o early_o let_v we_o make_v haste_n to_o go_v to_o the_o church_n let_v we_o give_v god_n thanks_n let_v we_o ask_v pardon_n for_o our_o sin_n crave_v mercy_n for_o those_o which_o be_v past_a and_o watchfulness_n and_o carefulness_n and_o a_o take_a heed_n for_o our_o sin_n to_o come_v let_v we_o spend_v all_o the_o day_n
