job_n have_v speak_v in_o common_a to_o they_o all_o as_o for_o the_o follow_a clause_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o my_o understanding_n cause_v i_o to_o answer_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o understanding_n may_v be_v mean_v either_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n enlighten_v his_o mind_n and_o cause_v he_o to_o understand_v or_o his_o soul_n by_o which_o he_o be_v enable_v to_o understand_v or_o the_o force_n and_o strength_n of_o his_o understanding_n or_o the_o high_a and_o chief_a and_o most_o refine_a part_n of_o the_o understanding_n that_o which_o be_v most_o free_a from_o the_o dregs_o of_o passion_n but_o however_o doubtless_o the_o drift_n of_o zophar_n in_o this_o expression_n be_v either_o to_o imply_v that_o he_o mean_v to_o answer_v job_n with_o reason_n and_o understanding_n and_o not_o in_o passion_n and_o anger_n as_o job_n have_v still_o reply_v upon_o they_o or_o else_o rather_o to_o show_v that_o the_o reason_n why_o he_o can_v not_o forbear_v speak_v any_o long_o be_v because_o he_o do_v clear_o understand_v that_o it_o be_v the_o truth_n which_o they_o maintain_v against_o job_n and_o be_v able_a by_o evident_a reason_n to_o convince_v he_o of_o his_o folly_n in_o reproach_v his_o friend_n as_o he_o have_v do_v for_o that_o which_o they_o have_v speak_v and_o of_o the_o wickedness_n which_o they_o have_v charge_v he_o with_o verse_n 4._o know_v thou_o not_o this_o of_o old_a since_o man_n be_v place_v upon_o earth_n etc._n etc._n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v i_o appeal_v to_o thy_o own_o conscience_n can_z thou_o be_v ignorant_a of_o that_o which_o the_o experience_n of_o all_o age_n have_v approve_v to_o be_v true_a ever_o since_o god_n first_o make_v man_n and_o place_v he_o upon_o the_o earth_n to_o wit_n as_o verse_n 6._o thaugh_o his_o excellency_n mount_v up_o to_o the_o heaven_n and_o his_o head_n reach_v unto_o the_o cloud_n that_o be_v though_o he_o overtop_v all_o man_n in_o riches_n honour_n authority_n and_o high_a esteem_n and_o be_v get_v up_o to_o the_o high_a pitch_n of_o outward_a prosperity_n and_o glory_n insomuch_o that_o hereupon_o he_o exalt_v himself_o in_o his_o pride_n as_o a_o little_a god_n upon_o earth_n and_o think_v his_o condition_n as_o unchangeable_a as_o the_o heaven_n we_o have_v the_o like_a expression_n matth._n 11.23_o and_o thou_o capernaum_n which_o be_v putrefaction_n 2._o that_o when_o god_n begin_v to_o execute_v his_o judgement_n upon_o he_o he_o shall_v become_v loathsome_a base_a and_o abominable_a unto_o all_o man_n so_o that_o none_o shall_v vouchsafe_v to_o save_v he_o but_o he_o shall_v be_v cast_v out_o with_o the_o detestation_n and_o abhor_v of_o all_o and_o 3._o that_o he_o shall_v perish_v utter_o both_o he_o and_o he_o according_a to_o that_o which_o be_v say_v of_o jeroboam_fw-la 1_o king_n 14.10_o i_o will_v take_v away_o the_o remnant_n of_o the_o house_n of_o jeroboam_fw-la as_o a_o man_n take_v away_o dung_n till_o it_o that_o all_o his_o near_a friend_n etc._n etc._n despise_a he_o and_o stand_v aloof_o from_o he_o and_o so_o intimate_v to_o he_o that_o it_o be_v not_o strange_a at_o all_o that_o it_o be_v thus_o since_o it_o be_v the_o usual_a portion_n of_o the_o wicked_a man_n thus_o to_o perish_v as_o his_o own_o dung_n that_o be_v man_n dung_n the_o most_o loathsome_a of_o all_o dung_n and_o to_o the_o same_o purpose_n be_v the_o follow_a clause_n they_o which_o have_v see_v he_o shall_v say_v where_o be_v he_o for_o this_o imply_v 1._o that_o he_o shall_v be_v utter_o cut_v off_o and_o not_o be_v see_v any_o more_o and_o 2._o that_o they_o that_o have_v see_v he_o with_o admiration_n in_o his_o height_n of_o prosperity_n shall_v wonder_v to_o see_v afterward_o how_o on_o a_o sudden_a he_o be_v quite_o perish_v and_o go_v not_o so_o much_o as_o any_o memorial_n be_v leave_v of_o he_o and_o shall_v speak_v of_o he_o in_o a_o way_n of_o scorn_n and_o contempt_n verse_n 8._o he_o shall_v fly_v away_o as_o a_o

when_o a_o man_n dream_n and_o wake_v on_o a_o sudden_a it_o be_v go_v and_o there_o be_v no_o remembrance_n at_o all_o leave_v of_o it_o or_o else_o the_o vanish_v away_o of_o those_o appearance_n and_o vision_n which_o the_o fancy_n present_v to_o a_o man_n in_o his_o sleep_n look_v as_o when_o a_o man_n dream_n of_o great_a treasure_n or_o dainty_a feast_n or_o other_o thing_n but_o on_o a_o sudden_a the_o dream_n vanish_v and_o so_o when_o he_o wake_v all_o come_v to_o nothing_o there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n as_o he_o dream_v of_o which_o be_v sweet_o express_v by_o the_o prophet_n isaiah_n chap._n 29.8_o so_o shall_v it_o be_v with_o the_o wicked_a man_n his_o prosperity_n shall_v sudden_o vanish_v to_o nothing_o and_o so_o he_o shall_v utter_o perish_v job_n have_v wish_v chap._n 19.23_o 24._o that_o his_o word_n be_v write_v that_o they_o be_v print_v in_o a_o book_n that_o they_o be_v grave_v with_o a_o iron_n pen_n in_o the_o rock_n for_o ever_o perhaps_o in_o allusion_n to_o this_o zophar_n here_o tell_v he_o that_o instead_o of_o be_v thus_o remember_v in_o after_o time_n he_o shall_v so_o utter_o perish_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o memorial_n leave_v of_o he_o no_o more_o than_o there_o be_v of_o a_o dream_n when_o it_o be_v quite_o vanish_v and_o go_v verse_n 9_o neither_o shall_v his_o place_n any_o more_o behold_v he_o this_o may_v be_v violence_n take_v from_o his_o child_n what_o he_o have_v by_o fraud_n or_o oppression_n take_v from_o they_o or_o that_o his_o child_n shall_v come_v to_o such_o extreme_a poverty_n &_o misery_n that_o even_o the_o poor_a sort_n of_o people_n shall_v be_v able_a to_o oppress_v they_o but_o if_o we_o read_v it_o as_o it_o be_v in_o our_o bibles_n his_o child_n shall_v please_v the_o poor_a than_o the_o meaning_n must_v be_v either_o that_o his_o child_n force_v thereto_o by_o the_o sentence_n and_o for_o fear_v of_o the_o sentence_n of_o the_o judge_n or_o otherwise_o shall_v labour_v to_o appease_v the_o poor_a by_o restore_v to_o they_o what_o their_o father_n have_v unjust_o take_v from_o they_o or_o else_o that_o they_o shall_v fall_v into_o such_o lamentable_a beggary_n and_o want_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v glad_a to_o curry_v favour_n with_o poor_a man_n that_o from_o they_o they_o may_v get_v some_o small_a succour_n as_o for_o the_o second_o clause_n and_o his_o the_o former_a owner_n what_o he_o have_v unjust_o take_v from_o they_o for_o even_o first_o when_o he_o die_v and_o so_o must_v part_v with_o and_o deliver_v up_o all_o that_o he_o have_v so_o bone_n be_v full_a of_o the_o sin_n of_o his_o youth_n which_o shall_v lie_v down_o with_o he_o in_o the_o dust_n two_o several_a way_n this_o may_v be_v understand_v for_o 1._o the_o meaning_n may_v verse_n 13._o even_o in_o laughter_n the_o heart_n be_v sorrowful_a and_o the_o end_n of_o that_o mirth_n be_v heaviness_n because_o excessive_a laughter_n do_v natural_o cause_n pain_n in_o the_o attend_v god_n people_n and_o so_o observe_v all_o our_o behaviour_n in_o god_n worship_n and_o then_o we_o may_v conceive_v thus_o of_o this_o clause_n that_o as_o in_o 1_o cor._n 11.10_o woman_n possible_a mean_n daily_o to_o grow_v and_o increase_v i_o do_v experimental_o find_v the_o truth_n of_o all_o that_o which_o i_o have_v hitherto_o teach_v either_o concern_v the_o vanity_n of_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o or_o concern_v the_o mean_n prescribe_v whereby_o man_n may_v come_v to_o live_v with_o as_o much_o comfort_n and_o content_n as_o be_v attainable_a in_o the_o midst_n of_o so_o determine_v with_o myself_o to_o use_v all_o mean_n that_o i_o may_v atttain_v to_o perfection_n of_o wisdom_n and_o persuade_v myself_o that_o by_o those_o endeavour_n of_o i_o i_o shall_v attain_v it_o but_o it_o be_v far_o from_o i_o that_o be_v i_o be_v still_o far_o from_o attain_v that_o perfection_n of_o wisdom_n which_o i_o labour_v for_o i_o find_v it_o still_o far_o above_o my_o reach_n and_o that_o because_o the_o more_o he_o search_v into_o god_n work_n of_o creation_n and_o providence_n the_o more_o unsearchable_a depth_n he_o find_v therein_o the_o more_o knowledge_n he_o attain_v the_o clear_a discovery_n he_o still_o make_v of_o his_o own_o want_n herein_o and_o after_o the_o diligence_n he_o use_v in_o trace_v all_o the_o several_a way_n which_o man_n take_v for_o that_o solomon_n intend_v in_o the_o follow_a verse_n to_o set_v forth_o some_o other_o vanity_n observe_v by_o he_o beside_o those_o former_o mention_v in_o this_o book_n he_o premise_v by_o way_n next_o he_o proceed_v to_o show_v that_o though_o life_n be_v thus_o sweet_a yet_o they_o must_v remember_v that_o this_o life_n will_v have_v a_o end_n and_o death_n and_o judgement_n will_v follow_v and_o that_o therefore_o they_o can_v be_v complete_o happy_a unless_o by_o the_o due_a consideration_n of_o this_o they_o provide_v to_o secure_v unto_o themselves_o that_o happiness_n which_o be_v so_o long_o and_o in_o never_o so_o great_a prosperity_n yet_o it_o be_v mere_a folly_n over_o much_o to_o delight_v herein_o because_o these_o thing_n will_v not_o last_v always_o the_o day_n of_o resolve_v that_o because_o thou_o must_v die_v therefore_o thou_o will_v take_v thy_o fill_n of_o pleasure_n whilst_o thou_o live_v do_v so_o take_v thy_o course_n live_v as_o young_a man_n use_v to_o the_o inward_a distemper_n of_o the_o heart_n so_o here_o likewise_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o outward_a man_n be_v forbid_v or_o avoid_v those_o sinful_a pleasure_n which_o will_v at_o last_o waste_v
