this_o magistrate_n as_o upon_o a_o murderer_n as_o here_o god_n revenge_v himself_o upon_o the_o house_n of_o jehu_n as_o for_o murder_n yet_o jehu_n be_v a_o magistrate_n and_o this_o be_v command_v jehu_n by_o god_n himself_o so_o suppose_v a_o magistrate_n fine_a a_o man_n for_o any_o evil_n and_o that_o just_o yet_o if_o he_o be_v guilty_a of_o the_o same_o himself_o god_n will_v deal_v with_o this_o magistrate_n as_o if_o he_o rob_v by_o the_o high_a way_n side_n and_o take_v away_o a_o man_n money_n by_o violence_n it_o be_v apparent_a out_o of_o the_o text._n certain_o my_o brethren_n therefore_o great_a wrath_n and_o vengeance_n hang_v over_o the_o head_n of_o wicked_a magistrate_n all_o this_o you_o learn_v from_o what_o be_v here_o say_v that_o god_n will_v avenge_v the_o blood_n of_o jezreel_n upon_o the_o house_n of_o jehu_n upon_o the_o inquire_a into_o the_o reason_n of_o it_o and_o he_o will_v do_v this_o upon_o the_o house_n of_o jehu_n that_o be_v the_o three_o idolater_n shall_v suffer_v for_o their_o father_n sin_n it_o be_v very_o observable_a what_o you_o have_v in_o the_o second_o commandment_n that_o god_n in_o no_o other_o do_v threaten_v the_o sin_n of_o the_o father_n upon_o the_o child_n but_o in_o the_o second_o commandment_n what_o be_v thereason_n of_o this_o that_o commandment_n forbid_v image_n because_o your_o superstitious_a worshipper_n of_o all_o man_n be_v strengthen_v by_o the_o tradition_n of_o their_o father_n oh_o our_o father_n do_v thus_o and_o thus_o and_o shall_v we_o be_v wise_a than_o our_o forefather_n we_o have_v now_o a_o company_n of_o upstart_a man_n and_o they_o will_v be_v wise_a than_o their_o ancestor_n because_o superstitious_a worshipper_n harden_v themselves_o so_o much_o in_o that_o way_n upon_o their_o father_n therefore_o it_o be_v that_o in_o that_o very_a commandment_n against_o make_v and_o worship_v of_o image_n god_n threaten_v to_o visit_v the_o sin_n of_o the_o father_n upon_o the_o child_n and_o in_o no_o other_o what_o the_o house_n of_o jehu_n after_o jehu_n be_v dead_a how_o can_v this_o be_v yes_o parent_n as_o a_o prince_n that_o have_v to_o do_v with_o two_o traitor_n both_o of_o they_o have_v deserve_v death_n but_o the_o prince_n be_v incline_v to_o show_v mercy_n and_o against_o the_o one_o there_o come_v this_o accusation_n this_o man_n father_n be_v a_o traitor_n and_o his_o grandfather_n and_o his_o great_a grandfather_n be_v traitor_n nay_o then_o let_v he_o die_v say_v the_o prince_n but_o now_o the_o other_o that_o be_v guilty_a of_o as_o much_o as_o this_o man_n be_v yet_o it_o be_v tell_v the_o king_n sir_n this_o man_n father_n have_v do_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o excellent_a service_n for_o the_o commonwealth_n there_o be_v never_o any_o of_o his_o house_n but_o be_v loyal_a this_o man_n now_o be_v spare_v though_o he_o deserve_v death_n and_o guilty_a with_o the_o other_o of_o the_o same_o treason_n and_o the_o king_n be_v just_a in_o this_o and_o so_o the_o first_o man_n may_v be_v say_v to_o die_v for_o his_o father_n sin_n that_o be_v he_o shall_v not_o have_v be_v execute_v if_o his_o forefather_n have_v not_o be_v in_o the_o fault_n take_v heed_n what_o you_o do_v in_o the_o course_n of_o your_o life_n if_o you_o regard_v not_o yourselves_o yet_o for_o your_o child_n sake_n that_o you_o may_v not_o leave_v a_o curse_n behind_o you_o upon_o the_o offspring_n of_o your_o loin_n and_o fruit_n of_o your_o womb_n look_v upon_o they_o pity_v they_o though_o you_o yourselves_o may_v escape_v in_o this_o world_n yet_o you_o may_v leave_v the_o inheritance_n of_o your_o sin_n unto_o your_o child_n pity_v your_o child_n that_o they_o may_v not_o have_v cause_n to_o curse_v the_o time_n that_o they_o be_v bear_v of_o such_o they_o a_o curse_n for_o a_o inheritance_n it_o have_v be_v better_a you_o have_v leave_v they_o never_o a_o penny_n then_o to_o leave_v they_o to_o inherit_v the_o curse_n of_o your_o wickedness_n upon_o the_o house_n of_o jehu_n the_o house_n of_o jehu_n fare_v the_o worse_a for_o jehu_n those_o that_o desire_v to_o raise_v and_o continue_v the_o honour_n of_o their_o house_n observe_v let_v he_o say_v yet_o a_o little_a while_n here_o be_v a_o excellent_a observation_n from_o hence_o that_o god_n sometime_o come_v upon_o sinner_n for_o their_o old_a sin_n for_o sin_n commit_v a_o long_a time_n ago_o commission_n sin_n a_o long_a time_n ago_o commit_v be_v perhaps_o forget_v by_o you_o yet_o they_o be_v remain_v file_v up_o and_o record_v in_o heaven_n above_o a_o hundred_o year_n after_o the_o commission_n it_o be_v like_o these_o sin_n of_o jehu_n be_v forget_v yet_o god_n come_v now_o at_o last_o to_o avenge_v the_o sin_n of_o jehu_n upon_o his_o house_n so_o he_o do_v for_o the_o sin_n of_o manasses_n and_o for_o the_o sin_n of_o josephs_n brethren_n it_o be_v 22._o year_n before_o they_o come_v to_o have_v their_o conscience_n trouble_v and_o then_o say_v they_o we_o be_v very_o guilty_a concern_v our_o brother_n therefore_o be_v this_o distress_n come_v upon_o we_o and_o now_o say_v reuben_n behold_v also_o his_o blood_n be_v require_v 22_o look_v to_o between_o the_o name_n israel_n and_o jezreel_n but_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difference_n in_o the_o signification_n for_o israel_n be_v one_o that_o prevail_v with_o god_n the_o strength_n of_o the_o lord_n jezreel_n be_v one_o that_o be_v scatter_v by_o the_o lord_n israel_n have_v lose_v the_o honour_n of_o his_o name_n many_o outlive_v the_o honour_n of_o their_o name_n and_o reputation_n obser_n these_o ten_o tribe_n be_v no_o more_o worthy_a to_o be_v call_v by_o the_o name_n of_o israel_n their_o famous_a progenitor_n but_o now_o jezreel_n the_o scatter_a of_o the_o lord_n three_o 3._o jezreel_n to_o show_v the_o way_n that_o god_n intend_v to_o bring_v judgement_n upon_o these_o ten_o tribe_n and_o what_o be_v it_o the_o way_n shall_v be_v by_o scatter_v shepherd_n there_o be_v a_o twofold_a scatter_n people_n a_o scatter_n among_o ourselves_o in_o way_n of_o division_n and_o a_o scatter_n by_o the_o enemy_n one_o from_o another_o to_o fly_v for_o our_o life_n the_o one_o part_n of_o this_o judgement_n the_o lord_n be_v merciful_a to_o we_o be_v upon_o we_o already_o and_o in_o this_o sense_n we_o may_v be_v call_v jezreel_n oh_o how_o be_v our_o kingdom_n divide_v how_o be_v it_o scat_v the_o lord_n keep_v we_o from_o the_o other_o scatter_v that_o we_o be_v not_o scatter_v one_o from_o another_o by_o be_v force_v to_o fly_v for_o our_o life_n before_o the_o enemy_n it_o be_v just_a with_o god_n that_o if_o we_o scatter_v our_o felve_n sinful_o by_o way_n of_o division_n that_o god_n shall_v scatter_v we_o in_o his_o wrath_n to_o our_o destruction_n by_o give_v we_o up_o to_o our_o enemy_n if_o we_o love_v scatter_v if_o we_o delight_v in_o division_n we_o may_v soon_o have_v scatter_v enough_o there_o may_v soon_o be_v division_n far_o enough_o one_o from_o another_o 4._o call_v his_o name_n jezreel_n 4._o to_o note_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v scatter_v they_o even_o in_o that_o very_a place_n where_o they_o do_v most_o glory_n as_o they_o do_v in_o the_o valley_n and_o city_n of_o jezreel_n they_o do_v much_o glory_n in_o that_o place_n as_o you_o shall_v hear_v afterward_o but_o god_n will_v scatter_v they_o even_o in_o that_o place_n in_o which_o they_o do_v so_o much_o boast_v and_o last_o 5._o jezreel_n because_o the_o lord_n will_v hereby_o show_v that_o he_o will_v turn_v these_o conceit_n and_o seed_n of_o god_n and_o hence_o it_o come_v to_o signify_v scatter_v too_o because_o that_o seed_n be_v to_o be_v scatter_v when_o it_o be_v sow_v and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o they_o may_v glory_v so_o much_o in_o that_o name_n oh_o they_o be_v the_o seed_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o a_o abide_a condition_n as_o be_v sow_v by_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n himself_o no_o say_v god_n you_o be_v mistake_v i_o do_v not_o call_v you_o jezreel_n upon_o any_o such_o term_n because_o you_o be_v sow_v of_o i_o but_o quite_o the_o other_o way_n because_o you_o shall_v be_v scatter_v and_o come_v to_o be_v destroy_v by_o i_o it_o be_v the_o usual_a way_n of_o god_n to_o turn_v those_o thing_n which_o man_n take_v as_o argument_n for_o their_o comfort_n to_o their_o confusion_n obser_n haman_n who_o make_v such_o a_o interpretation_n of_o the_o action_n of_o ester_n invite_v he_o to_o the_o banquet_n alone_o with_o the_o king_n the_o truth_n be_v the_o right_a interpretation_n of_o it_o have_v be_v that_o it_o be_v to_o his_o destruction_n and_o so_o here_o whereas_o they_o may_v make_v such_o a_o interpretation_n of_o jezreel_n as_o that_o they_o be_v the_o seed_n the_o sow_v of_o the_o lord_n the_o true_a interpretation_n be_v that_o they_o be_v the_o scatter_a of_o the_o lord_n all_o these_o five_o reason_n you_o have_v either_o in_o the_o nearness_n of_o the_o name_n israel_n with_o jezreel_n or_o otherwise_o in_o the_o word_n that_o follow_v after_o for_o yet_o a_o little_a while_o i_o will_v avenge_v the_o blood_n of_o jezreel_n upon_o the_o house_n of_o jehu_n and_o cause_n to_o cease_v the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n here_o now_o we_o come_v to_o that_o which_o be_v the_o main_a in_o this_o scripture_n and_o these_o four_o question_n be_v of_o great_a use_n and_o will_v tend_v much_o to_o edification_n 1._o what_o be_v this_o blood_n of_o jezreel_n that_o god_n will_v avenge_v 2._o why_o god_n will_v avenge_v the_o blood_n of_o jezreel_n upon_o the_o house_n of_o jehu_n 3._o why_o be_v it_o call_v the_o house_n of_o jehu_n and_o jehu_n alone_o without_o the_o addition_n of_o the_o name_n king_n as_o it_o be_v usual_a in_o other_o as_o hezekiah_n king_n of_o judah_n and_o such_o a_o one_o king_n of_o israel_n but_o here_o only_a the_o house_n of_o jehu_n 4._o what_o be_v this_o little_a while_n god_n speak_v of_o yet_o a_o little_a while_n the_o word_n be_v read_v i_o suppose_v ordinary_o and_o past_o over_o as_o if_o there_o be_v little_a in_o they_o but_o you_o shall_v find_v that_o there_o be_v much_o of_o the_o mind_n of_o god_n hold_v out_o to_o we_o in_o they_o for_o the_o first_o then_o what_o be_v the_o blood_n of_o jezreel_n that_o here_o god_n threaten_v 〈◊〉_d you_o may_v read_v the_o history_n of_o it_o in_o 2_o what_o this_o blood_n be_v it_o be_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o house_n of_o ahab_n the_o blood_n of_o jezabel_n the_o blood_n of_o the_o 70._o son_n of_o ahab_n who_o head_n the_o elder_n of_o jesreel_n send_v to_o jehu_n in_o basket_n this_o be_v the_o blood_n that_o be_v shed_v here_o in_o this_o place_n which_o god_n say_v he_o will_v aveuge_v god_n will_v certain_o avenge_v blood_n and_o if_o god_n will_v avenge_v the_o blood_n of_o ahab_n obser_n he_o will_v sure_o avenge_v the_o blood_n of_o abel_n if_o the_o blood_n of_o jesabel_n then_o sure_o the_o blood_n of_o sarah_n if_o the_o blood_n of_o idolater_n than_o the_o blood_n of_o his_o saint_n blood_n oh_o what_o vengeance_n then_o do_v hang_v over_o that_o antichrist_n for_o all_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o saint_n that_o have_v be_v spill_v by_o he_o the_o scarlet_a whore_n have_v die_v herself_o with_o this_o blood_n yea_o and_o vengeance_n will_v come_v for_o that_o blood_n that_o have_v be_v shed_v of_o our_o brethren_n in_a ireland_n upon_o any_o whosoever_o have_v be_v instrumental_n in_o it_o great_a or_o small_a certain_o the_o righteous_a god_n will_v not_o suffer_v that_o wicked_a and_o horrid_a work_n to_o go_v unavenge_v even_o here_o upon_o the_o earth_n let_v we_o wait_v a_o while_n and_o we_o may_v live_v to_o see_v that_o time_n wherein_o 〈◊〉_d shall_v not_o only_o be_v say_v by_o the_o place_n here_o in_o hosea_n with_o other_o scripture_n you_o shall_v find_v that_o it_o be_v a_o strange_a thing_n that_o ever_o it_o shall_v be_v say_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v avenge_v the_o blood_n of_o jesreel_n upon_o the_o house_n of_o jehu_n for_o in_o 2_o king_n 9_o 7._o you_o shall_v find_v that_o jehu_n be_v anoint_v by_o the_o lord_n on_o purpose_n for_o that_o action_n to_o shed_v that_o blood_n and_o he_o have_v a_o command_n from_o god_n he_o be_v bid_v to_o go_v and_o shed_v it_o and_o the_o holy_a oil_n be_v pour_v upon_o he_o for_o that_o end_n that_o he_o may_v shed_v that_o blood_n yet_o now_o this_o blood_n must_v be_v avenge_v and_o avenge_v upon_o the_o house_n
of_o jehu_n yea_o chap._n 10._o v._n 30._o you_o shall_v find_v that_o god_n say_v because_o he_o have_v do_v such_o a_o thing_n &_o shed_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o house_n of_o ahab_n in_o jesreel_n that_o he_o will_v reward_v he_o for_o it_o and_o that_o his_o child_n to_o the_o four_o generation_n shall_v sit_v upon_o the_o throne_n of_o israel_n and_o govern_v that_o kingdom_n now_o that_o
