say_v or_o else_o because_o a_o sacrament_n admit_v of_o no_o figure_n which_o will_v be_v very_o absurd_a for_o any_o man_n to_o say_v since_o it_o be_v of_o the_o very_a nature_n of_o a_o sacrament_n to_o represent_v and_o exhibit_v some_o invisible_a grace_n and_o benefit_n by_o a_o outward_a sign_n and_o figure_n and_o especial_o since_o it_o can_v be_v deny_v but_o that_o in_o the_o institution_n of_o this_o very_a sacrament_n our_o saviour_n use_v figurative_a expression_n and_o several_a word_n which_o can_v be_v take_v strict_o and_o literal_o when_o he_o give_v the_o cup_n he_o say_v this_o cup_n be_v the_o new_a testament_n in_o my_o blood_n which_o be_v shed_v for_o you_o and_o for_o many_o for_o the_o remission_n of_o sin_n where_o first_o the_o cup_n be_v put_v for_o wine_n contain_v in_o the_o cup_n or_o else_o if_o the_o word_n by_o literal_o take_v so_o as_o to_o signify_v a_o substantial_a change_n it_o be_v not_o of_o the_o wine_n but_o of_o the_o cup_n and_o that_o not_o into_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n but_o into_o the_o new_a testament_n or_o new_a covenant_n in_o his_o blood._n beside_o that_o his_o blood_n be_v say_v then_o to_o be_v shed_v and_o his_o body_n to_o be_v break_v which_o be_v not_o till_o his_o passion_n which_o follow_v the_o institution_n and_o first_o celebration_n of_o this_o sacrament_n answer_n first_o presence_n that_o there_o be_v a_o necessity_n of_o understand_v those_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n in_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o real_a presence_n or_o transubstantiation_n for_o these_o two_o reason_n 1._o because_o although_o there_o be_v many_o figurative_a expression_n in_o scripture_n which_o all_o man_n allow_v yet_o this_o in_o relation_n to_o the_o case_n in_o hand_n be_v not_o such_o 2._o although_o a_o sacrament_n admit_v of_o figure_n which_o no_o man_n be_v so_o absurd_a as_o to_o deny_v since_o it_o be_v of_o the_o very_a nature_n of_o a_o sacrament_n to_o represent_v and_o exhibit_v some_o invisible_a grace_n and_o benefit_n by_o a_o outward_a sign_n and_o figure_n yet_o the_o figure_n do_v not_o lie_v where_o the_o author_n pretend_v it_o do_v the_o rule_n which_o
