be_v come_v we_o come_v to_o the_o promise_n by_o christ_n yet_o mistake_v not_o there_o be_v a_o promise_n of_o christ_n and_o a_o soul_n must_v come_v to_o christ_n in_o that_o promise_n but_o i_o speak_v of_o particular_a word_n and_o promise_v some_o will_v not_o trust_v in_o christ_n unless_o they_o have_v this_o or_o that_o particular_a word_n set_v upon_o their_o heart_n and_o spirit_n and_o so_o indeed_o do_v rather_o rest_v on_o the_o bare_a letter_n of_o the_o word_n or_o the_o sense_n and_o impression_n that_o be_v make_v upon_o the_o soul_n by_o the_o set_n on_o of_o the_o promise_n but_o all_o the_o promise_n be_v yea_o and_o amen_o in_o christ_n christ_n therefore_o be_v first_o and_o if_o a_o man_n do_v trust_v in_o the_o promise_n first_o and_o so_o go_v unto_o christ_n afterward_o then_o when_o he_o want_v a_o particular_a word_n or_o a_o promise_n he_o will_v not_o trust_v in_o christ_n but_o be_v quite_o discourage_v but_o when_o a_o man_n do_v trust_v in_o the_o lord_n christ_n first_o and_o in_o particular_a promise_n afterward_o then_o though_o a_o particular_a promise_n do_v not_o shine_v forth_o yet_o his_o faith_n live_v and_o he_o be_v not_o discourage_v wherefore_o venture_v upon_o jesus_n christ_n first_o and_o then_o upon_o the_o promise_n as_o give_v unto_o thou_o by_o the_o hand_n of_o christ_n answ_n 6_o six_o if_o you_o will_v so_o trust_v in_o the_o lord_n as_o you_o may_v not_o be_v discourage_v whaâ—â—â—er_v your_o condition_n be_v then_o if_o ever_o it_o please_v the_o lord_n to_o give_v our_o a_o promise_n to_o you_o never_o let_v it_o go_v but_o hold_v it_o fast_o although_o you_o see_v nothing_o but_o the_o contrary_a unto_o the_o thing_n promise_v this_o be_v abraham_n case_n the_o lord_n give_v abraham_n a_o promise_n but_o abraham_n see_v the_o contrary_a to_o the_o thing_n promise_v yet_o abraham_n do_v not_o dispute_v the_o promise_n he_o do_v not_o stagger_v at_o the_o promise_n and_o say_v sure_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o give_v i_o this_o promise_n it_o â—â—s_o but_o a_o delusion_n and_o i_o be_v deceive_v no_o but_o abraham_n still_o beâ—â—s_v up_o to_o the_o promise_n and_o do_v not_o dispute_v or_o stagger_v at_o the_o same_o so_o must_v you_o do_v likewise_o if_o ever_o the_o lord_n give_v out_o a_o promise_n to_o you_o hold_v it_o keep_v it_o never_o let_v it_o go_v although_o shall_v presume_v and_o tempt_v the_o lord_n answ_n tempt_v the_o lord_n say_v you_o do_v thou_o know_v what_o it_o be_v for_o to_o tempt_v the_o lord_n it_o be_v say_v oâ—_n the_o child_n of_o israel_n that_o they_o tempt_v the_o lord_n and_o say_v be_v god_n among_o we_o and_o when_o thou_o say_v after_o all_o the_o experience_n of_o god_n preâ—ence_n with_o thou_o be_v god_n with_o i_o token_n from_o the_o lord_n to_o strengthen_v his_o faith_n he_o be_v not_o adulterous_a then_o nor_o do_v he_o tempt_v the_o lord_n nor_o presume_v for_o be_v it_o presumption_n for_o a_o man_n to_o keep_v the_o sabbath_n day_n no_o why_o because_o it_o be_v command_v be_v it_o presumption_n for_o a_o child_n to_o obey_v his_o parent_n no_o why_o because_o it_o be_v command_v so_o it_o be_v command_v for_o a_o soul_n to_o believe_v when_o all_o comfort_n be_v out_o of_o sight_n and_o when_o he_o see_v nothing_o but_o what_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o thing_n promise_v presumption_n proper_o be_v the_o take_n of_o a_o thing_n before_o it_o be_v give_v or_o offer_v but_o in_o this_o case_n the_o promise_n be_v give_v and_o therefore_o no_o presumption_n for_o to_o hold_v it_o fast_o there_o be_v a_o twofold_n presumption_n which_o you_o read_v of_o in_o scripture_n one_o whereby_o man_n do_v rest_n upon_o their_o own_o workâ—_n for_o salvation_n without_o christ_n so_o the_o jew_n do_v and_o therein_o they_o presume_v of_o mercy_n before_o it_o be_v give_v unto_o they_o another_o whereby_o man_n do_v as_o they_o think_v or_o in_o their_o way_n rest_n on_o christ_n for_o salvation_n and_o yet_o live_v without_o work_n and_o obedience_n and_o therein_o they_o preâ—â—me_v also_o because_o they_o take_v mercy_n â—hen_o it_o be_v not_o give_v they_o eâ—â—_n if_o i_o râ—â—l_v on_o the_o promise_n or_o on_o chrâ—st_n that_o i_o may_v be_v make_v the_o more_o holy_a do_v what_o i_o can_v to_o be_v fruitful_a in_o every_o good_a work_n yet_o rest_v upon_o christ_n for_o all_o this_o be_v no_o presumption_n why_o because_o i_o do_v not_o take_v mercy_n before_o it_o be_v offer_v and_o though_o i_o hold_v the_o promise_n fast_o when_o i_o see_v nothing_o but_o what_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o thing_n promise_v yet_o this_o be_v no_o presumption_n why_o because_o i_o do_v what_o be_v command_v for_o say_v the_o apostle_n let_v they_o that_o suffer_v
