this_o i_o be_v predestinate_v unto_o it_o and_o unless_o god_n have_v appoint_v it_o i_o can_v never_o have_v do_v it_o what_o of_o that_o therefore_o they_o hope_v there_o be_v no_o danger_n hang_v over_o their_o head_n for_o such_o fact_n but_o what_o then_o will_v they_o say_v of_o judas_n do_v not_o he_o do_v that_o which_o god_n have_v decree_v yet_o our_o saviour_n say_v woe_n to_o he_o and_o we_o may_v as_o well_o say_v woe_n unto_o thou_o for_o whatsoever_o they_o imagine_v the_o necessity_n of_o their_o sin_v in_o respect_n of_o god_n decree_n do_v nothing_o diminish_v the_o warrant_v and_o in_o that_o sort_n as_o it_o approve_v for_o so_o god_n servant_n be_v bind_v to_o do_v it_o have_v be_v good_a for_o that_o man_n if_o he_o have_v never_o be_v bear_v it_o be_v good_a for_o we_o that_o he_o be_v bear_v because_o we_o have_v benefit_n thereby_o but_o not_o for_o he_o because_o whatsoever_o matter_n of_o contentment_n he_o have_v in_o his_o life_n time_n turn_v at_o length_n to_o the_o increase_n of_o his_o misery_n and_o to_o his_o perpetual_a damnation_n whence_o this_o point_n may_v be_v gather_v doct._n 5_o that_o all_o the_o delight_n and_o contentment_n of_o wicked_a man_n in_o this_o world_n hell_n no_o earthly_a contentment_n can_v countervail_v the_o punishment_n in_o hell_n can_v countervail_v the_o misery_n that_o they_o shall_v feel_v in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v judas_n have_v life_n itself_o which_o be_v a_o thing_n very_o delightful_a and_o of_o which_o it_o be_v true_o say_v though_o by_o a_o lie_a spirit_n skin_n for_o skin_n hell_n that_o they_o do_v certain_o no_o wise_a man_n will_v willing_o make_v such_o a_o match_n for_o what_o shall_v it_o profit_v a_o man_n to_o win_v the_o whole_a world_n and_o to_o lose_v his_o own_o soul_n first_o reason_n 1_o the_o best_a delight_n and_o contentment_n of_o this_o life_n be_v mix_v with_o many_o trouble_n sorrow_n and_o fear_n but_o their_o misery_n in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v be_v pure_a misery_n without_o any_o mitigation_n or_o comfort_n in_o their_o pain_n and_o torment_n second_o their_o pleasure_n here_o be_v few_o and_o short_a and_o of_o small_a continuance_n but_o their_o pain_n hereafter_o shall_v be_v innumerable_a and_o endless_a three_o all_o their_o delight_n in_o this_o life_n be_v but_o snare_n and_o all_o their_o good_a cheer_n and_o dainty_n but_o poison_n and_o the_o more_o man_n take_v of_o they_o 18.7_o revel_v 18.7_o the_o more_o grievous_a shall_v their_o punishment_n in_o hell_n be_v for_o instruction_n use_v 1_o that_o we_o shall_v will_v even_o sell_v themselves_o unto_o destruction_n as_o ahab_n do_v not_o care_v what_o misery_n they_o cast_v themselves_o into_o nor_o what_o snare_n they_o entangle_v themselves_o in_o so_o they_o may_v accomplish_v their_o brutish_a and_o devilish_a purpose_n be_v therein_o more_o silly_a than_o the_o poor_a bird_n or_o fish_n that_o once_o perceive_v the_o snare_n or_o the_o hook_n will_v not_o easy_o meddle_v nor_o adventure_v the_o danger_n the_o second_o time_n second_o if_o it_o be_v so_o use_v 2_o that_o all_o the_o commodity_n and_o delight_n of_o this_o life_n can_v countervail_v the_o misery_n of_o damnation_n then_o on_o the_o other_o side_n why_o shall_v it_o not_o hold_v as_o true_a for_o our_o comfort_n that_o all_o the_o loss_n and_o sorrow_n of_o this_o life_n can_v countervail_v the_o happiness_n of_o salvation_n for_o the_o apostle_n say_v 8.18_o rom_n 8.18_o that_o the_o affliction_n of_o this_o present_a time_n be_v not_o worthy_a of_o the_o to_o strengthen_v our_o body_n and_o to_o refresh_v our_o heart_n so_o sure_o christ_n be_v make_v one_o with_o we_o and_o we_o with_o he_o and_o than_o our_o soul_n shall_v be_v strengthen_v and_o our_o heart_n spiritual_o reviue_v either_o present_o in_o the_o very_a act_n of_o receive_v or_o afterward_o in_o due_a time_n when_o we_o shall_v stand_v in_o most_o need_n of_o comfort_n and_o resolve_v with_o ourselves_o every_o one_o in_o his_o own_o soul_n that_o as_o sure_a as_o god_n be_v true_a and_o faithful_a in_o his_o promise_n we_o shall_v in_o the_o fit_a season_n reap_v fruit_n corruption_n and_o rebellion_n as_o i_o have_v how_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o i_o shall_v be_v cleanse_v the_o mouth_n of_o the_o lord_n have_v speak_v it_o answ_n and_o therefore_o never_o cavil_v against_o it_o nor_o make_v question_n of_o it_o any_o more_o indeed_o unbelief_n can_v see_v how_o this_o shall_v be_v effect_v and_o therefore_o ignorant_a unbelieve_a papist_n have_v invent_v a_o carnal_a manner_n of_o eat_v and_o drink_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o have_v find_v out_o a_o purgatory_n to_o scour_v off_o that_o rust_n of_o sin_n that_o have_v so_o eat_v they_o be_v present_a in_o the_o congregation_n and_o hear_v the_o word_n preach_v and_o see_v the_o wine_n pour_v out_o and_o the_o bread_n break_v before_o their_o eye_n at_o the_o celebration_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n yet_o they_o can_v have_v no_o hope_n that_o they_o shall_v have_v one_o drop_n of_o christ_n his_o blood_n to_o wash_v away_o their_o sin_n but_o may_v rather_o expect_v the_o viol_n of_o his_o indignation_n to_o consume_v their_o body_n and_o soul_n and_o it_o be_v a_o just_a vengeance_n of_o god_n upon_o such_o profane_a and_o irreligious_a person_n that_o when_o they_o come_v to_o the_o sermon_n &_o to_o the_o sacrament_n they_o get_v no_o good_a but_o rather_o much_o hurt_n thereby_o and_o have_v their_o lust_n strong_a their_o heart_n hard_a and_o their_o mind_n far_o more_o blind_a and_o uncapable_a of_o any_o good_a knowledge_n every_o day_n than_o other_o but_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n hereof_o may_z some_z demand_n be_v not_o the_o word_n of_o god_n mighty_a to_o beat_v down_o the_o strong_a hold_v of_o the_o devil_n and_o be_v not_o the_o sacrament_n powerful_a in_o operation_n and_o able_a to_o work_v great_a thing_n yes_o they_o be_v so_o and_o why_o then_o have_v such_o no_o profit_n by_o they_o because_o they_o be_v abuser_n and_o prophaner_n and_o not_o meet_v receiver_n of_o the_o same_o because_o they_o come_v not_o with_o any_o preparation_n or_o desire_v of_o a_o blessing_n upon_o the_o mean_n but_o for_o custom_n and_o fashion_n that_o they_o may_v not_o seem_v to_o be_v so_o bad_a as_o indeed_o they_o be_v nor_o to_o set_v so_o light_a by_o the_o holy_a ordinance_n of_o god_n as_o in_o truth_n they_o do_v second_o for_o instruction_n use_v 2_o if_o we_o will_v be_v welcome_a to_o christ_n jesus_n when_o he_o invit_v we_o to_o feast_v with_o he_o then_o let_v we_o get_v a_o good_a stomach_n to_o feed_v on_o such_o cheer_n as_o he_o offer_v unto_o us._n otherwise_o if_o we_o glut_v ourselves_o before_o we_o come_v to_o his_o table_n and_o be_v only_o look_v on_o those_o dainty_n on_o which_o other_o be_v feedings_a it_o will_v not_o be_v well_o take_v at_o our_o hand_n but_o we_o shall_v be_v as_o distasteful_a unto_o the_o feast-maker_n as_o his_o provision_n be_v unto_o we_o and_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v unto_o other_o the_o savour_n of_o life_n unto_o life_n shall_v prove_v unto_o we_o the_o savour_n of_o death_n unto_o our_o eternal_a destruction_n if_o our_o repentance_n do_v not_o prevent_v god_n judgement_n if_o god_n own_o child_n come_v careless_o and_o unprepare_o can_v kill_v our_o appetite_n and_o what_o that_o be_v peter_n tell_v we_o when_o he_o say_v wherefore_o lay_v aside_o all_o maliciousness_n and_o all_o guile_n 2.21_o allow_v no_o sin_n 1_o pet._n 2.21_o pure_a word_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o can_v not_o possible_o grow_v in_o the_o knowledge_n and_o practice_n of_o the_o same_o and_o therefore_o when_o we_o find_v in_o ourselves_o dulness_n and_o deadness_n and_o unwillingness_n unto_o good_a duty_n let_v we_o conclude_v for_o a_o certainty_n that_o we_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o physic_n for_o the_o purge_n of_o our_o soul_n for_o sin_n work_v on_o our_o heart_n as_o ill_a humour_n do_v in_o our_o stomach_n it_o make_v we_o to_o loathe_v all_o spiritual_a food_n and_o all_o mean_n of_o refresh_v and_o this_o take_v for_o a_o undoubted_a truth_n which_o though_o our_o mouth_n will_v not_o confess_v yet_o our_o heart_n must_v needs_o acknowledge_v when_o we_o have_v no_o desire_n to_o hear_v the_o word_n preach_v or_o to_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n when_o it_o be_v to_o be_v administer_v there_o be_v some_o sin_n or_o other_o not_o thorough_o repent_v of_o which_o so_o cloi_v the_o soul_n that_o it_o can_v delight_v in_o those_o holy_a exercise_n and_o as_o our_o heart_n be_v more_o purge_v by_o godly_a sorrow_n 5._o matth._n 5._o so_o will_v our_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n after_o righteousness_n and_o the_o mean_n be_v by_o nature_n misery_n see_v thy_o misery_n and_o
be_v gross_o ignorant_a of_o their_o own_o vileness_n and_o wretchedness_n and_o of_o the_o worth_n and_o excellency_n of_o heavenly_a thing_n for_o instruction_n though_o we_o find_v no_o manner_n of_o goodness_n or_o worthiness_n in_o ourselves_o yet_o that_o shall_v be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v any_o hindrance_n unto_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v have_v the_o sight_n of_o it_o and_o humiliation_n for_o it_o it_o will_v rather_o further_o we_o then_o hinder_v we_o for_o bless_a be_v the_o poor_a in_o spirit_n 5._o matth_n 5._o god_n be_v not_o like_a one_o that_o keep_v a_o ordinary_a where_o every_o one_o that_o sit_v at_o table_n must_v buy_v his_o shot_n but_o he_o be_v a_o royal_a feast-maker_n that_o keep_v open_a house_n for_o all_o comer_n and_o goer_n and_o he_o pay_v best_o that_o see_v he_o have_v nothing_o at_o all_o to_o pay_v and_o be_v thereby_o bring_v out_o of_o all_o conceit_n with_o himself_o and_o this_o shall_v put_v a_o answer_n into_o our_o mouth_n against_o satan_n objection_n that_o we_o have_v nothing_o to_o satisfy_v god_n for_o our_o offence_n against_o his_o majesty_n nor_o for_o his_o mercy_n offer_v unto_o we_o we_o need_v not_o any_o such_o matter_n of_o satisfaction_n because_o god_n will_v have_v we_o buy_v and_o eat_v free_o without_o money_n or_o money_n worth_a and_o our_o humble_a and_o thankful_a acknowledgement_n of_o this_o his_o bounty_n and_o liberality_n be_v all_o the_o satisfaction_n that_o he_o look_v for_o at_o our_o hand_n why_o do_v you_o lay_v out_o your_o silver_n and_o not_o for_o bread_n etc._n etc._n that_o rather_o chaffer_v with_o the_o world_n and_o spend_v their_o thought_n and_o pain_n about_o thing_n of_o no_o worth_n that_o will_v no_o way_n satisfy_v they_o but_o when_o they_o have_v toil_v out_o themselves_o in_o the_o pursuit_n of_o they_o they_o shall_v be_v as_o restless_a and_o void_a of_o true_a contentment_n as_o ever_o before_o nothing_o can_v satisfy_v doct._n 4_o and_o content_a the_o mind_n but_o grace_n many_o thing_n there_o be_v that_o make_v show_v as_o if_o they_o can_v do_v it_o 6.6_o grace_n only_o content_v the_o mind_n 1._o tim._n 6.6_o but_o the_o truth_n be_v speak_v that_o true_o which_o other_o do_v vain_a glorious_o i_o be_o sorry_a that_o your_o cheer_n be_v no_o better_o but_o it_o be_v otherwise_o with_o the_o lord_n as_o he_o be_v bountiful_a and_o will_v not_o spare_v cost_v so_o be_v he_o rich_a in_o all_o abundance_n of_o heavenly_a treasure_n and_o need_v not_o spare_a cost_n and_o therefore_o see_v christ_n have_v pray_v that_o all_o his_o guest_n may_v have_v of_o the_o best_a they_o shall_v not_o fail_v of_o any_o thing_n that_o their_o heart_n can_v desire_v and_o long_o for_o especial_o see_v it_o be_v for_o his_o own_o glory_n a_o large_a bounty_n in_o this_o behalf_n for_o whereas_o the_o lord_n institute_v the_o cup_n as_o well_o as_o the_o bread_n and_o pray_v and_o give_v thanks_o for_o the_o one_o as_o well_o as_o for_o the_o other_o bid_v they_o drink_v all_o of_o the_o wine_n as_o well_o as_o eat_v of_o the_o bread_n they_o teach_v and_o practice_v the_o clean_a contrary_a and_o that_o their_o sacrilege_n may_v not_o seem_v so_o vile_a as_o in_o truth_n it_o be_v object_n they_o produce_v some_o show_n of_o reason_n for_o this_o their_o deal_n it_o be_v needless_a say_v they_o to_o add_v the_o wine_n unto_o contain_v in_o the_o vein_n see_v here_o how_o shameless_o they_o control_v christ_n himself_o answer_v for_o if_o we_o receive_v the_o blood_n in_o receive_v his_o body_n why_o do_v he_o ordain_v may_v have_v as_o good_a refresh_n as_o any_o other_o in_o the_o lord_n house_n for_o christ_n jesus_n do_v there_o provide_v a_o full_a meal_n for_o they_o this_o be_v david_n comfort_n when_o he_o be_v banish_v from_o the_o assembly_n of_o saint_n and_o can_v not_o be_v present_a at_o the_o sacrament_n and_o sacrifice_n when_o he_o can_v but_o remember_v that_o he_o have_v be_v at_o they_o and_o also_o be_v a_o profitable_a communicant_a as_o oft_o as_o he_o can_v it_o do_v much_o refresh_v his_o soul_n so_o that_o it_o be_v satisfy_v as_o with_o marrow_n and_o fatness_n with_o the_o very_a meditation_n thereof_o he_o have_v receive_v such_o store_n of_o grace_n from_o god_n ordinance_n and_o such_o a_o strong_a apprehension_n of_o his_o favour_n that_o he_o count_v it_o better_o than_o life_n itself_o and_o the_o consideration_n thereof_o do_v not_o only_o comfort_v his_o soul_n but_o help_v he_o also_o in_o his_o bodily_a necessity_n in_o so_o much_o that_o when_o he_o be_v in_o a_o barren_a and_o dry_a wilderness_n pinch_v with_o hunger_n and_o press_v with_o thirst_n the_o very_a remembrance_n of_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v pass_v long_o before_o do_v cause_v he_o perfigure_v but_o this_o be_v more_o plain_a and_o perpicuous_a so_o that_o god_n mercy_n and_o goodness_n towards_o we_o in_o his_o son_n may_v more_o clear_o and_o evident_o be_v discern_v in_o this_o one_o sacrament_n than_o it_o can_v by_o all_o their_o sacrifice_n then_o the_o blood_n of_o beast_n be_v shed_v in_o stead_n of_o christ_n but_o now_o have_v he_o shed_v his_o own_o blood_n
