ordinary_o use_v for_o such_o purpose_n among_o we_o where_o the_o gospel_n be_v already_o general_o profess_v and_o thou_o do_v not_o bear_v the_o company_n of_o the_o wicked_a of_o which_o we_o speak_v in_o the_o place_n of_o public_a worship_n upon_o any_o such_o expectation_n but_o if_o by_o convert_v ordinance_n thou_o mean_v as_o be_v most_o likely_a such_o a_o one_o as_o god_n use_v as_o a_o mean_n to_o cause_n man_n profess_v the_o name_n of_o christ_n to_o depart_v from_o iniquity_n to_o turn_v from_o sin_n to_o holiness_n and_o from_o the_o power_n of_o satan_n unto_o god_n i_o see_v no_o reason_n why_o any_o shall_v think_v or_o say_v that_o the_o sacrament_n be_v no_o convert_v ordinance_n if_o it_o be_v not_o either_o it_o be_v because_o the_o sacrament_n be_v no_o proper_a mean_n or_o because_o god_n will_v not_o concur_v by_o his_o grace_n with_o it_o neither_o of_o these_o can_v be_v say_v with_o any_o show_n of_o reason_n not_o the_o former_a for_o why_o shall_v not_o the_o solemn_a remembrance_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o consideration_n of_o what_o he_o have_v do_v and_o suffer_v be_v a_o mean_n for_o the_o kill_n of_o sin_n which_o he_o come_v to_o destroy_v and_o the_o promote_a holiness_n which_o he_o live_v and_o die_v to_o advance_v yea_o what_o can_v be_v suppose_v more_o likely_a and_o powerful_a for_o the_o promote_a of_o that_o bless_a purpose_n why_o shall_v not_o the_o sign_n and_o seal_v of_o god_n gracious_a covenant_n to_o give_v pardon_n and_o eternal_a glory_n to_o all_o that_o forsake_v their_o sin_n and_o live_v a_o holy_a life_n be_v a_o fit_a instrument_n to_o provoke_v those_o that_o understand_v it_o to_o renounce_v their_o sin_n and_o to_o devote_v themselves_o unto_o holiness_n why_o shall_v not_o that_o solemn_a sacred_a engagement_n that_o all_o that_o know_v what_o they_o do_v lay_v on_o themselves_o at_o the_o sacrament_n to_o endeavour_v to_o depart_v from_o every_o know_a evil_n and_o to_o practice_v every_o know_a duty_n be_v a_o mean_n to_o oblige_v they_o to_o it_o certain_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o in_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n seem_v to_o be_v a_o more_o likely_a instrument_n to_o convert_v man_n from_o a_o life_n of_o sin_n to_o a_o life_n of_o holiness_n than_o the_o sacred_a remembrance_n of_o our_o lord_n at_o his_o table_n so_o that_o if_o this_o ordinance_n be_v not_o convert_v it_o must_v be_v because_o god_n will_v not_o concur_v by_o his_o grace_n in_o it_o but_o whoever_o say_v that_o speaks_z what_o he_o can_v know_v and_o can_v prove_v he_o talk_v without_o book_n and_o against_o it_o and_o be_v so_o extravagant_a in_o his_o assertion_n that_o it_o will_v be_v folly_n to_o attempt_v the_o confute_v of_o he_o this_o i_o have_v say_v on_o this_o occasion_n not_o to_o engage_v in_o a_o controversy_n but_o to_o clear_v a_o matter_n of_o christian_a practice_n and_o the_o very_a root_n of_o this_o objection_n lie_v in_o this_o conceit_n that_o the_o sacrament_n be_v not_o a_o convert_v ordinance_n for_o which_o there_o be_v nothing_o but_o fancy_n and_o the_o bare_a say_n of_o some_o mistake_a man_n but_o now_o if_o as_o i_o have_v prove_v the_o sacrament_n may_v be_v and_o be_v a_o instrument_n of_o conversion_n then_o why_o shall_v any_o refrain_v because_o evil_a man_n be_v admit_v to_o it_o 4_o if_o wicked_a man_n come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n that_o be_v not_o prepare_v for_o it_o their_o unpreparedness_n be_v their_o sin_n and_o they_o shall_v answer_v for_o it_o but_o we_o ought_v not_o therefore_o to_o neglect_v our_o duty_n because_o they_o have_v omit_v they_o we_o may_v and_o we_o ought_v to_o advise_v and_o admonish_v they_o to_o prepare_v themselves_o for_o the_o ordinance_n before_o they_o come_v to_o it_o if_o they_o will_v not_o follow_v our_o brotherly_a admonition_n we_o can_v help_v it_o we_o have_v do_v what_o we_o can_v to_o render_v they_o more_o worthy_a and_o their_o sin_n shall_v not_o be_v lay_v to_o our_o charge_n to_o prepare_v ourselves_o for_o the_o holy_a communion_n and_o to_o address_v ourselves_o unto_o it_o be_v that_o which_o we_o be_v sure_o concern_v we_o if_o we_o neglect_v it_o be_v our_o sin_n and_o other_o man_n sin_n will_v not_o excuse_v we_o their_o sin_v in_o one_o kind_n shall_v be_v no_o reason_n why_o we_o shall_v sin_v in_o another_o there_o be_v no_o reason_n that_o we_o shall_v starve_v ourselves_o because_o other_o take_v the_o bread_n that_o belong_v not_o to_o they_o 5_o if_o we_o be_v worthy_a communicant_n and_o other_o receive_v unworthy_o they_o have_v no_o communion_n with_o we_o nor_o we_o with_o they_o they_o only_o eat_v bread_n and_o drink_v wine_n but_o we_o partake_v of_o the_o mystical_a body_n and_o blood_n of_o our_o lord_n our_o communion_n be_v with_o the_o father_n and_o with_o his_o son_n jesus_n christ_n and_o with_o the_o faithful_a worthy_a receiver_n but_o the_o unworthy_a partake_v neither_o with_o we_o nor_o they_o if_o a_o ape_n leap_v upon_o the_o table_n and_o eat_v of_o the_o bread_n where_o friend_n be_v meet_v at_o a_o entertainment_n be_v he_o therefore_o a_o guest_n be_v he_o one_o of_o the_o company_n
