abrogate_a which_o i_o wonder_v mr._n hickeringill_n his_o sagacity_n have_v not_o discover_v yet_o it_o be_v plain_a enough_o that_o wise_a parliament_n do_v not_o thereby_o reflect_v upon_o or_o intend_v all_o the_o canon_n but_o such_o canon_n as_o the_o present_a matter_n before_o they_o be_v concern_v in_o that_o be_v such_o canon_n as_o forbid_v ecclesiastical_a officer_n to_o marry_v as_o the_o word_n sect._n 1._o be_v that_o no_o lay_n or_o marry_v man_n shall_v or_o may_v exercise_v any_o ecclesiastical_a jurisdiction_n etc._n etc._n direct_o repugnant_a to_o your_o majesty_n be_v as_o supreme_a head_n your_o grace_n be_v a_o layman_n than_o it_o follow_v in_o the_o next_o word_n and_o albeit_o the_o say_a decree_n viz._n be_v contrary_a to_o the_o royal_a prerogative_n 19_o and_o that_o this_o clause_n speak_v only_o of_o such_o canon_n as_o be_v abrogate_a by_o that_o statute_n abrogate_v nothing_o that_o be_v not_o so_o by_o the_o act_n refer_v to_o 4._o and_o thus_o the_o jurisdiction_n and_o canon_n of_o the_o church_n stand_v in_o force_n at_o the_o latter_a end_n of_o the_o reign_n of_o hen._n 8._o this_o statute_n be_v make_v in_o the_o last_o year_n wherein_o any_o be_v make_v by_o that_o great_a prince_n 5._o thus_o we_o have_v find_v in_o the_o time_n of_o king_n hen._n 8._o a_o ecclesiastical_a jurisdiction_n exercise_v in_o england_n without_o any_o dependence_n on_o the_o pope_n and_o other_o authority_n for_o canon-maker_n synodical_a as_o mr._n hickeringill_n cant_v beside_o the_o statute_n for_o the_o high_a commission_n 1_o eliz._n upon_o which_o statute_n of_o eliz._n mr._n hickeringill_n very_o learned_o assert_v the_o authority_n of_o all_o canon-maker_n synodical_a be_v build_v qu._n naked_a truth_n sect_n iii_o no_o more_o be_v needful_a under_o this_o head_n but_o to_o show_v my_o respect_n to_o mr._n hickeringill_n his_o doughty_a and_o only_a argument_n take_v out_o of_o the_o petition_n of_o the_o clergy_n to_o queen_n mary_n whereby_o he_o will_v fain_o prove_v that_o the_o extinguish_n act_n of_o hen._n 8._o take_v away_o all_o ordinary_a jurisdiction_n from_o the_o church_n of_o england_n and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n till_o she_o revive_v it_o 2._o the_o word_n of_o the_o petition_n from_o whence_o he_o thus_o argue_v you_o shall_v have_v in_o his_o own_o translation_n in_o this_o manner_n they_o pray_v that_o her_o majesty_n will_v make_v
