the_o clergy_n and_o some_o of_o the_o laity_n and_o conference_n hold_v concern_v this_o letter_n of_o my_o lord_n to_o the_o lady_n those_o of_o the_o say_a clergy_n that_o be_v there_o and_o be_v like_a to_o know_v most_o of_o my_o lord_n bishop_n mind_n acknowledge_v and_o conformable_o themselves_o say_v that_o my_o lord_n bishop_n never_o intend_v any_o such_o tribunal_n and_o it_o go_v so_o far_o as_o that_o the_o lay_v gentleman_n draw_v a_o certain_a letter_n to_o the_o same_o effect_n in_o explication_n of_o his_o lordship_n first_o letter_n in_o which_o he_o say_v his_o meaning_n be_v mistake_v which_o his_o lordship_n may_v please_v to_o write_v to_o the_o laity_n express_v as_o much_o to_o they_o as_o he_o have_v do_v to_o the_o lady_n which_o though_o it_o be_v no_o more_o than_o he_o have_v already_o write_v and_o be_v confess_v by_o his_o own_o officer_n yet_o he_o will_v not_o write_v it_o for_o what_o reason_n i_o know_v not_o nay_o this_o divine_a himself_o in_o maintain_v this_o tribunal_n seem_v a_o little_a contrary_n to_o himself_o for_o in_o his_o first_o section_n and_o 3._o point_n of_o passion_n he_o complain_v of_o the_o gentleman_n for_o stretch_v as_o he_o say_v my_o lord_n bishop_n word_n upon_o the_o tenter_n hook_n in_o that_o they_o understand_v his_o lordship_n word_n of_o a_o episcopal_a tribunal_n or_o power_n in_o foro_fw-la externo_fw-la whereas_o say_v he_o the_o bishop_n speak_v only_o of_o such_o authority_n as_o ordinary_n have_v or_o can_v have_v in_o their_o diocese_n and_o which_o be_v sufficient_a to_o exact_v of_o regulars_n that_o they_o shall_v ask_v his_o approbation_n and_o a_o little_a after_o where_o say_v he_o in_o all_o the_o bishop_n letter_n be_v there_o one_o word_n of_o temporal_a authority_n or_o of_o authority_n over_o temporal_a fortune_n or_o such_o as_o have_v be_v alter_v or_o direct_v by_o our_o temporal_a prince_n what_o word_n then_o of_o the_o bishop_n enforce_v they_o to_o make_v this_o sense_n none_o sure_o but_o their_o own_o passion_n which_o make_v they_o make_v this_o force_a sense_n this_o force_a inference_n these_o be_v the_o divine_v own_o word_n which_o i_o do_v not_o see_v well_o how_o he_o can_v reconcile_v with_o his_o word_n in_o this_o place_n wherefore_o though_o i_o will_v not_o take_v upon_o i_o to_o teach_v such_o a_o divine_a yet_o i_o may_v say_v he_o shall_v have_v be_v better_o advise_v and_o agree_v better_a upon_o his_o tale_n both_o with_o himself_o and_o with_o other_o of_o his_o own_o say_a before_o he_o have_v fall_v to_o write_v and_o so_o perhaps_o he_o may_v have_v save_v himself_o all_o this_o needless_a labour_n of_o writing_n and_o i_o the_o labour_n of_o answer_v for_o neither_o he_o nor_o any_o else_o can_v well_o tell_v what_o authority_n they_o will_v have_v for_o my_o lord_n bishop_n only_a authority_n they_o will_v have_v for_o he_o and_o for_o themselves_o but_o what_o or_o how_o they_o can_v tell_v for_o fain_o they_o will_v have_v his_o lordship_n to_o have_v authority_n of_o ordinary_a for_o without_o that_o they_o can_v so_o well_o compass_v their_o end_n nor_o with_o it_o neither_o i_o may_v true_o say_v and_o yet_o they_o find_v such_o main_n obstacle_n on_o the_o other_o side_n make_v it_o not_o only_o difficult_a but_o even_o impossible_a that_o they_o be_v fain_o for_o shame_n sake_n to_o deny_v all_o such_o pretence_n and_o thence_o it_o be_v that_o sometime_o they_o say_v one_o thing_n sometime_o another_o sometime_o that_o he_o be_v ordinary_a sometime_o that_o
