corporal_a presence_n of_o the_o bodyo_n jesus_n christ_n on_o the_o holy_a table_n or_o in_o mystical_a element_n but_o only_o for_o the_o advancement_n of_o god_n majesty_n and_o to_o give_v he_o alone_o that_o honour_n and_o glory_n that_o be_v due_a unto_o he_o and_o no_o otherwise_o and_o in_o the_o practice_n or_o omission_n of_o this_o rite_n we_o desire_v that_o the_o rule_n of_o charity_n prescribe_v by_o the_o apostle_n may_v be_v observe_v which_o be_v that_o they_o which_o use_v this_o rite_n despise_v not_o they_o who_o use_v it_o not_o and_o that_o they_o who_o use_v it_o not_o condemn_v not_o those_o that_o use_v it_o viii_o of_o preach_v for_o conformity_n whereas_o the_o preach_a of_o order_n and_o decency_n according_a to_o st._n paul_n rule_n do_v conduce_v shall_v refuse_v or_o neglect_v to_o do_v according_a to_o this_o canon_n let_v he_o be_v suspend_v by_o his_o ordinary_n during_o the_o time_n of_o his_o refusal_n or_o wilful_a forbearance_n to_o do_v thereafter_o ix_o one_o book_n of_o article_n of_o enquiry_n to_o be_v use_v at_o all_o parochial_a visitation_n for_o the_o better_a settle_v of_o a_o uniformity_n in_o the_o outward_a government_n and_o administration_n of_o the_o church_n and_o for_o the_o more_o prevent_v of_o just_a grievance_n which_o may_v be_v lay_v upon_o churchwarden_n and_o other_o sworne-man_n by_o any_o impertinent_a inconvenient_a or_o illegal_a inquiry_n in_o the_o article_n for_o ecclesiastical_a visitation_n this_o synod_n have_v now_o cause_v a_o summary_n or_o collection_n of_o visitory_a article_n out_o of_o the_o rubric_n of_o the_o service-book_n and_o the_o canon_n and_o warrantable_a rule_n of_o the_o church_n to_o be_v make_v and_o for_o future_a direction_n to_o be_v deposit_v in_o the_o record_n of_o the_o archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n and_o we_o do_v decree_n and_o ordain_v that_o from_o henceforth_o no_o bishop_n or_o other_o person_n whatsoever_o have_v right_o to_o hold_v use_v or_o exercise_v any_o parochial_a visitation_n shall_v under_o the_o pain_n of_o a_o month_n suspension_n upon_o a_o bishop_n and_o two_o month_n upon_o any_o other_o ordinary_a that_o next_o follow_v the_o date_n of_o these_o present_n the_o metropolitan_a shall_v not_o either_o at_o the_o instance_n of_o those_o which_o have_v right_a to_o hold_v parochial_a visitation_n or_o upon_o any_o other_o occasion_n make_v any_o addition_n or_o dimnuition_n from_o that_o allowance_n to_o any_o bishop_n of_o visitory_a article_n which_o he_o do_v last_o before_o in_o any_o diocese_n within_o this_o province_n approve_v of_o but_o call_v for_o the_o same_o shall_v hold_v and_o give_v that_o only_a for_o a_o perpetual_a rule_n and_o then_o every_o parish_n shall_v be_v bind_v only_o to_o take_v the_o say_a book_n from_o the_o archdeacon_n and_o other_o have_v a_o peculiar_a or_o exempt_a jurisdiction_n but_o once_o from_o that_o time_n in_o three_o year_n in_o case_n they_o do_v make_v it_o appear_v they_o have_v the_o say_a book_n remain_v in_o their_o public_a chest_n for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o parish_n and_o from_o every_o bishop_n they_o shall_v receive_v the_o say_a article_n at_o the_o episcopal_a visitation_n only_o and_o in_o manner_n and_o form_n as_o former_o they_o have_v be_v accustom_v to_o do_v and_o at_o no_o great_a price_n than_o what_o have_v be_v usual_o pay_v in_o the_o say_a diocese_n respective_o x._o concern_v the_o conversation_n of_o the_o clergy_n the_o sober_a grave_a and_o exemplary_a conversation_n of_o all_o those_o that_o be_v employ_v in_o administration_n of_o holy_a thing_n be_v of_o great_a avail_n for_o the_o furtherance_n of_o piety_n it_o have_v be_v the_o religious_a care_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n strict_o to_o enjoin_v to_o all_o and_o every_o one_o of_o her_o clergy_n a_o pious_a regular_a and_o inoffensive_a demeanour_n and_o to_o prohibit_v all_o loose_a and_o scandalous_a carriage_n by_o severe_a censure_n to_o be_v inflict_v upon_o such_o delinquent_n as_o appear_v by_o the_o 74_o and_o 75_o canon_n anno_fw-la 1603._o provide_v to_o this_o purpose_n for_o the_o more_o effectual_a success_n of_o which_o pious_a and_o necessary_a care_n this_o present_a synod_n straight_o charge_v all_o clergyman_n in_o this_o church_n that_o set_v before_o their_o eye_n the_o glory_n of_o god_n the_o holiness_n of_o their_o call_n and_o the_o edification_n of_o the_o people_n commit_v to_o they_o they_o careful_o avoid_v all_o excess_n and_o disorder_n and_o that_o by_o their_o christian_a and_o religious_a conversation_n they_o shine_v forth_o as_o light_n unto_o other_o in_o all_o godliness_n and_o honesty_n and_o we_o also_o require_v all_o those_o to_o who_o the_o government_n of_o the_o clergy_n of_o this_o church_n be_v commit_v that_o they_o set_v themselves_o to_o countenance_n and_o encourage_v godliness_n gravity_n sobriety_n and_o all_o unblameable_a conversation_n in_o the_o minister_n of_o this_o church_n and_o that_o according_a to_o the_o power_n with_o which_o they_o be_v entrust_v they_o diligent_o labour_v by_o the_o due_a execution_n of_o the_o abovenamed_a canon_n and_o all_o other_o ecclesiastical_a provision_n make_v for_o this_o end_n to_o reform_v all_o offensive_a and_o scandalous_a person_n if_o any_o be_v in_o the_o ministry_n as_o they_o tender_v the_o welfare_n and_o prosper_v of_o piety_n and_o religion_n and_o as_o they_o will_v answer_n to_o god_n for_o those_o scandal_n which_o through_o their_o remissness_n and_o neglect_n shall_v arise_v and_o grow_v in_o this_o church_n of_o christ_n xi_o chancellor_n patent_n for_o the_o better_a remedy_v and_o redress_n of_o such_o abuse_n as_o be_v complain_v of_o in_o the_o ecclesiastical_a court_n the_o synod_n do_v decree_n and_o ordain_v that_o hereafter_o no_o bishop_n shall_v grant_v any_o patent_n to_o any_o chancellor_n commissary_n or_o official_a for_o any_o long_a term_n than_o the_o life_n of_o the_o grantee_n only_o nor_o otherwise_o than_o with_o express_a reservation_n to_o himself_o
