breadth_n and_o that_o do_v do_v then_o with_o batteldore_n piece_n of_o timber_n and_o wood_n and_o other_o thing_n sore_o beat_v the_o same_o ever_o cast_v thereupon_o certain_a deceitful_a liquor_n mingle_v with_o chalk_n and_o other_o like_a thing_n whereby_o the_o say_a cloth_n be_v not_o due_o make_v to_o seem_v much_o fine_a &_o thick_a to_o the_o eye_n than_o it_o be_v in_o deed_n but_o also_o the_o thread_n thereof_o be_v so_o lose_a and_o make_v weak_a that_o after_o iii_o or_o four_o wash_n it_o will_v scarce_o hold_v together_o to_o the_o great_a deceit_n hindrance_n and_o loss_n of_o the_o subject_n of_o this_o realm_n be_v it_o therefore_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n of_o this_o present_a parliament_n that_o if_o any_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v hereafter_o willing_o use_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v use_v the_o aforesaid_a deceit_n or_o any_o other_o act_n or_o act_n mean_v or_o mean_n to_o in_o or_o with_o any_o kind_n of_o linen_n cloth_n whereby_o the_o same_o before_o the_o say_a feast_n of_o the_o nativity_n of_o saint_n john_n baptist_n next_o follow_v and_o that_o all_o such_o parish_n and_o cathedral_n church_n or_o other_o place_n where_o the_o say_v book_n shall_v be_v attain_v and_o get_v before_o the_o say_a feast_n of_o the_o nativity_n of_o saint_n john_n baptist_n shall_v within_o three_o week_n next_o after_o the_o say_a book_n so_o attain_a and_o get_v use_v the_o say_a service_n and_o put_v the_o same_o in_o ure_n accord_v to_o this_o act_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o no_o every_o such_o offence_n and_o that_o every_o person_n and_o person_n be_v after_o the_o say_v first_o day_n of_o june_n lawful_o attaint_v by_o the_o due_a order_n of_o the_o common_a law_n of_o this_o realm_n before_o such_o as_o shall_v have_v power_n and_o authority_n to_o hear_v and_o determine_v felony_n by_o the_o common_a law_n shall_v for_o every_o such_o offence_n suffer_v such_o pain_n of_o death_n &_o forfeiture_n of_o good_n and_o cattle_n as_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v have_v do_v if_o he_o or_o they_o have_v be_v lawful_o attaint_v for_o any_o offence_n be_v felony_n by_o the_o common_a law_n of_o this_o realm_n and_o also_o shall_v forfeit_v to_o the_o queen_n highness_n her_o heir_n and_o successor_n all_o his_o or_o their_o land_n tenement_n &_o hereditament_n during_o the_o life_n of_o every_o such_o offendor_n only_o and_o for_o the_o better_a execution_n of_o this_o law_n and_o for_o the_o meeting_n with_o the_o offender_n therein_o be_v it_o also_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o and_o every_o offence_n or_o offence_n commit_v or_o do_v by_o any_o person_n or_o person_n contrary_a to_o this_o act_n from_o and_o after_o the_o say_v first_o day_n of_o june_n next_o come_n shall_v be_v inquire_v of_o try_v determine_v and_o judge_v in_o such_o county_n of_o this_o realm_n or_o other_o the_o queen_n dominion_n as_o shall_v be_v next_o adjoin_v to_o the_o place_n where_o any_o such_o offence_n shall_v be_v first_o commit_v any_o jurisdiction_n authority_n or_o usage_n to_o the_o contrary_a in_o any_o wise_a notwithstanding_o provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o this_o act_n nor_o any_o thing_n therein_o contain_v shall_v in_o any_o wise_n extend_v or_o be_v of_o the_o next_o parliament_n after_o the_o say_v five_o year_n a_o act_n limit_v the_o time_n for_o lay_v on_o land_n merchandise_n from_o beyond_o the_o sea_n and_o touch_v custom_n for_o sweet_a wine_n the_o xi_o chapter_n most_o humble_o the_o wing_n beseech_v your_o highness_n your_o lord_n and_o commons_n in_o this_o present_a parliament_n assemble_v that_o where_o the_o sum_n of_o money_n pay_v in_o the_o name_n of_o custom_n subsidy_n of_o ware_n and_o marchaundize_v transport_v out_o and_o
place_n where_o he_o shall_v be_v commissioner_n and_o that_o if_o any_o person_n chargeable_a to_o this_o act_n at_o the_o time_n of_o the_o same_o assess_n happen_v to_o be_v out_o of_o this_o realm_n and_o out_o of_o wales_n or_o far_o form_v the_o place_n where_o he_o shall_v be_v know_v than_o he_o to_o be_v set_v where_o he_o be_v last_o abide_n in_o this_o realm_n or_o within_o wales_n and_o best_a know_v and_o after_o the_o substance_n and_o value_n and_o other_o profit_n of_o every_o person_n know_v by_o the_o examination_n certificate_n and_o other_o manner_n of_o wise_a as_o be_v aforesaid_a the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v appoint_v by_o the_o queen_n majesty_n commission_n shall_v after_o the_o rate_n aforesaid_a set_v and_o tax_v every_o person_n accord_v to_o the_o rate_n of_o the_o substance_n and_o value_n of_o his_o land_n good_n and_o other_o profit_n whereby_o the_o great_a and_o most_o best_a sum_n accord_v to_o his_o most_o substance_n by_o reason_n of_o this_o act_n may_v or_o may_v be_v set_v or_o tax_v provide_v always_o that_o every_o such_o person_n which_o shall_v be_v set_v or_o tax_v for_o payment_n of_o and_o to_o this_o subsidy_n for_o and_o after_o the_o yearly_a value_n of_o his_o land_n tenement_n and_o other_o real_a possession_n or_o profit_n at_o any_o of_o the_o say_a taxation_n shall_v not_o be_v set_v and_o tax_v for_o his_o good_n and_o cattle_n or_o other_o movable_a substance_n at_o the_o same_o taxation_n and_o that_o he_o that_o shall_v be_v charge_v or_o tax_v for_o the_o that_o no_o person_n have_v two_o mansion_n or_o two_o place_n to_o resort_v unto_o or_o call_v himself_o household_n servant_n or_o wayght_a servant_n to_o the_o queen_n majesty_n or_o other_o lord_n or_o lay_v master_n or_o mistress_n be_v excuse_v upon_o his_o say_n from_o the_o tax_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n in_o neither_o of_o the_o place_n where_o he_o may_v be_v set_v unless_o he_o bring_v a_o certificate_n in_o write_v from_o the_o commissioner_n where_o that_o he_o be_v so_o set_v in_o deed_n at_o one_o place_n and_o if_o any_o person_n that_o ought_v to_o be_v set_v by_o reason_n of_o his_o remove_a or_o resort_v to_o two_o place_n or_o by_o reason_n of_o his_o say_n that_o he_o else_o where_o be_v tax_v or_o by_o reason_n of_o any_o privilege_n by_o his_o dwell_v or_o abide_n in_o any_o place_n not_o be_v forprise_v in_o this_o act_n or_o otherwise_o by_o his_o covin_n or_o craft_n happen_v to_o escape_v from_o the_o say_a taxation_n and_o be_v not_o set_v and_o that_o prove_v by_o presentment_n examination_n or_o information_n before_o the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v by_o the_o same_o commission_n appoint_v or_o by_o the_o baron_n of_o the_o queen_n majesty_n exchequer_n or_o two_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n of_o the_o county_n where_o such_o person_n dwell_v than_o every_o such_o person_n that_o by_o such_o mean_n or_o otherwise_o willing_o by_o covin_n shall_v happen_v to_o escape_v from_o the_o say_a taxation_n or_o payment_n aforesaid_a and_o not_o to_o be_v rate_v tax_v and_o set_v shall_v be_v charge_v upon_o the_o knowledge_n and_o proof_n thereof_o with_o and_o at_o the_o double_a value_n that_o he_o shall_v or_o ought_v to_o have_v be_v set_v at_o afore_o accord_v to_o his_o bahaviour_n the_o same_o double_a value_n to_o be_v levy_v gather_v and_o pay_v of_o his_o good_n and_o cattle_n land_n and_o tenement_n towards_o the_o say_a subsidy_n and_o further_o to_o be_v punish_v accord_v to_o the_o discretion_n of_o the_o baron_n justice_n and_o commissioner_n before_o who_o he_o shall_v be_v convict_v for_o his_o offence_n and_o deceit_n in_o that_o behalf_n and_o further_o be_v it_o and_o authority_n by_o this_o act_n to_o set_v tax_v and_o sesse_z every_o other_o commissioner_n join_v with_o they_o in_o every_o such_o commission_n and_o division_n and_o shall_v also_o assess_v every_o assessour_n within_o their_o division_n for_o his_o and_o their_o good_n land_n and_o other_o the_o premise_n as_o be_v abouseayde_v by_o the_o which_o say_v commission_n the_o say_a commissioner_n shall_v indifferent_o set_v tax_v and_o assess_v themselves_o and_o the_o say_a assessor_n and_o that_o aswell_o the_o sum_n upon_o every_o of_o the_o say_a commissioner_n and_o assessor_n so_o sess_z rate_v and_o tax_v as_o the_o sum_n make_v and_o present_v by_o the_o presenter_n swear_v as_o be_v abovesaid_a shall_v be_v write_v certify_v set_v and_o estreat_v and_o the_o estreate_v thereof_o to_o be_v make_v with_o other_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o that_o party_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o the_o same_o commission_n and_o division_n so_o to_o be_v gather_v and_o levy_v certify_v at_o day_n and_o place_n above_o specify_v by_o the_o lord_n chancellor_n or_o keeper_n of_o the_o great_a seal_n treasurer_n lord_n precedent_n of_o the_o counsel_n &_o lord_n privy_a seal_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o such_o other_o person_n as_o shall_v be_v limit_v by_o the_o queen_n majesty_n and_o after_o the_o tax_n and_o assess_v of_o the_o say_a sum_n upon_o and_o the_o say_v assess_v and_o certificate_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a make_v the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v thereunto_o appoint_v by_o the_o queen_n majesty_n
