their_o doctrine_n be_v receive_v by_o some_o well-minded_a people_n that_o be_v not_o so_o happy_a as_o to_o know_v themselves_o aforehand_o to_o be_v possessor_n of_o this_o common_a principle_n and_o there_o be_v no_o question_n but_o all_o of_o they_o that_o do_v it_o honest_o do_v it_o upon_o the_o same_o ground_n but_o herein_o lie_v the_o mystery_n of_o their_o iniquity_n which_o this_o man_n have_v be_v so_o ingenious_a and_o happy_a as_o to_o discover_v namely_o that_o he_o who_o shall_v receive_v the_o forementioned_a principle_n as_o evident_a in_o his_o own_o heart_n shall_v afterward_o be_v induce_v to_o believe_v that_o whatever_o the_o chief_n quaker_n teach_v be_v as_o evident_a and_o that_o this_o evidence_n be_v from_o the_o immediate_a revelation_n of_o god_n one_o of_o those_o eleven_o minister_n for_o he_o be_v so_o far_o from_o attest_v to_o their_o testimony_n as_o every_o quaker_n have_v it_o be_v true_a aught_o to_o have_v do_v that_o he_o contradict_v it_o and_o write_v a_o large_a letter_n in_o opposition_n to_o it_o the_o substance_n of_o which_o be_v this_o viz._n have_v consider_v their_o paper_n in_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n he_o be_v move_v of_o the_o lord_n to_o let_v they_o know_v 1._o that_o it_o be_v much_o that_o they_o so_o few_o so_o young_a and_o so_o very_o little_a in_o comparison_n of_o the_o body_n or_o those_o who_o they_o count_v elder_n shall_v take_v upon_o they_o to_o determine_v in_o thing_n of_o so_o high_a a_o nature_n etc._n etc._n which_o if_o they_o be_v to_o be_v do_v aught_o to_o be_v do_v by_o the_o full_a consent_n of_o those_o who_o be_v in_o authority_n in_o the_o church_n if_o so_o be_v there_o be_v such_o a_o authority_n so_o to_o determine_v and_o not_o by_o a_o few_o and_o those_o not_o at_o all_o depute_a in_o the_o thing_n if_o you_o say_v say_v he_o you_o have_v not_o determine_v so_o as_o to_o impose_v upon_o the_o body_n of_o friend_n but_o only_o give_v your_o own_o judgement_n in_o the_o thing_n i_o answer_v you_o be_v very_o positive_a and_o plain_a in_o the_o determination_n and_n so_o repeat_v their_o preface_n he_o collect_v which_o be_v in_o the_o nature_n of_o a_o civil_a commandment_n then_o he_o recite_v their_o first_o particular_a and_o say_v which_o be_v as_o much_o as_o a_o institution_n then_o of_o the_o second_o particular_a he_o say_v which_o be_v a_o inhibition_n of_o the_o three_o particular_a he_o say_v which_o be_v doctrine_n of_o the_o four_o he_o say_v which_o be_v correction_n of_o the_o five_o which_o be_v admonition_n of_o the_o six_o which_o be_v exhortation_n of_o the_o conclusion_n he_o say_v this_o be_v instruction_n next_o he_o say_v the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o this_o day_n and_o in_o the_o day_n of_o the_o apostle_n bear_v not_o the_o same_o proportion_n then_o be_v apostle_n pastor_n teacher_n elder_n etc._n etc._n but_o in_o this_o day_n the_o spirit_n itself_o be_v pastor_n teacher_n elder_n etc._n etc._n so_o that_o if_o the_o spirit_n move_v any_o to_o declare_v or_o speak_v that_o be_v the_o apostle_n teacher_n elder_n etc._n etc._n so_o that_o we_o have_v not_o now_o thing_n in_o the_o disposition_n of_o person_n but_o according_a to_o the_o power_n which_o move_v in_o everyone_o so_o there_o be_v not_o that_o hazard_n as_o to_o apostasy_n as_o be_v in_o that_o day_n so_o i_o know_v no_o pastor_n teacher_n elder_n etc._n etc._n but_o as_o i_o find_v move_v in_o any_o to_o any_o of_o these_o thing_n and_o that_o which_o will_v be_v otherwise_o than_o this_o leap_v into_o apostasy_n and_o will_v seek_v to_o bring_v in_o dark_a night_n again_o and_o will_v be_v seclude_v the_o thing_n to_o the_o person_n and_o not_o the_o person_n to_o the_o thing_n and_o as_o for_o my_o part_n if_o that_o day_n shall_v prevail_v or_o these_o thing_n which_o your_o paper_n seem_v to_o hold_v forth_o and_o enforce_v i_o have_v no_o other_o expectation_n but_o that_o the_o same_o exercise_n we_o shall_v receive_v at_o your_o hand_n as_o we_o together_o receive_v from_o the_o hand_n of_o those_o who_o will_v have_v hold_v we_o in_o captivity_n 3._o the_o seed_n be_v come_v in_o which_o the_o ministry_n be_v to_o end_v now_o for_o you_o because_o you_o minister_v to_o think_v to_o settle_v yourselves_o in_o the_o place_n of_o the_o heir_n and_o to_o enforce_v your_o station_n be_v not_o to_o allow_v that_o the_o seed_n be_v come_v and_o whether_o your_o paper_n do_v not_o so_o speak_v view_v it_o over_o again_o and_o let_v that_o which_o shall_v judge_n in_o the_o matter_n friend_n and_o brethren_n take_v heed_n how_o you_o set_v up_o your_o law_n and_o constitution_n over_o his_o dominion_n many_o have_v attempt_v it_o and_o have_v be_v break_v to_o piece_n and_o if_o you_o do_v the_o same_o the_o same_o will_v be_v your_o portion_n from_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o power_n you_o be_v safe_a but_o when_o once_o you_o go_v to_o outward_a thing_n to_o preserve_v your_o station_n and_o keep_v you_o up_o as_o paper_n strive_n etc._n etc._n you_o err_v so_o much_o from_o the_o power_n and_o this_o will_v work_v you_o down_o also_o if_o you_o oppose_v yourselves_o against_o his_o kingdom_n bristol_n the_o 3d_o of_o the_o 11_o month_n 1666._o here_o we_o have_v the_o infallible_a spirit_n of_o the_o quaker_n in_o g._n by_o hop_v give_v judgement_n against_o the_o eleven_o elder_n that_o they_o have_v go_v from_o their_o principle_n into_o the_o way_n of_o apostasy_n and_o prophesy_v their_o downfall_n and_o he_o that_o know_v george_n bishop_n or_o have_v read_v his_o writing_n will_v i_o think_v find_v reason_n enough_o to_o take_v his_o judgement_n concern_v their_o principle_n as_o soon_o as_o any_o or_o all_o of_o the_o eleven_o elder_n so_o that_o they_o have_v not_o only_o offer_v this_o affront_n to_o mankind_n viz._n that_o they_o profess_v in_o principle_n and_o practice_n necessary_a to_o man_n happiness_n to_o distinguish_v themselves_o from_o all_o other_o man_n and_o for_o the_o truth_n and_o certainty_n of_o those_o principle_n and_o practice_n they_o bring_v no_o evidence_n but_o the_o inward_a testimony_n of_o the_o light_n in_o every_o man_n and_o yet_o condemn_v all_o man_n as_o unfaithful_a to_o that_o light_n how_o innocent_a soever_o in_o their_o own_o conscience_n that_o be_v contrary_a to_o they_o or_o agree_v not_o with_o they_o which_o be_v in_o effect_n to_o give_v the_o lie_n to_o every_o man_n beside_o themselves_o and_o to_o say_v that_o all_o the_o world_n except_o quaker_n be_v liar_n and_o the_o thing_n be_v true_a in_o respect_n of_o primitive_a christianity_n which_o they_o pretend_v to_o that_o it_o bring_v such_o evidence_n with_o it_o to_o they_o to_o who_o it_o be_v full_o preach_v that_o no_o considerate_a man_n will_v disbelieve_v it_o but_o he_o must_v be_v a_o liar_n and_o wilful_o blind_a but_o these_o man_n do_v not_o only_o thus_o affront_v all_o mankind_n that_o consent_n not_o to_o they_o but_o also_o they_o conclude_v even_o all_o quaker_n that_o agree_v with_o they_o in_o all_o their_o principle_n and_o practice_n wherein_o they_o differ_v from_o other_o to_o be_v self-condemned_a if_o they_o subject_v not_o themselves_o to_o their_o judgement_n in_o so_o small_a a_o matter_n as_o be_v the_o cover_n or_o uncover_v the_o head_n when_o other_o pray_v and_o thing_n of_o that_o kind_n for_o i_o never_o hear_v that_o any_o hat-man_n keep_v on_o his_o hat_n when_o himself_o pray_v except_o perrot_n and_o so_o they_o contradict_v in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n that_o very_a voice_n in_o man_n which_o they_o have_v teach_v they_o to_o give_v heed_n to_o as_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o lord_n so_o when_o j._n pennyman_n carry_v all_o his_o book_n to_o a_o friend_n of_o he_o near_o the_o exchange_n be_v move_v to_o burn_v some_o waste_a paper_n there_o in_o his_o passage_n pour_v out_o some_o quaker_n book_n which_o he_o have_v a_o little_a before_o bear_v testimony_n to_o g._n fox_n and_o whithead_n face_n against_o their_o deceitful_a declaration_n and_o another_o scurrilous_a paper_n they_o be_v so_o offend_v at_o he_o for_o that_o g._n whitehead_n next_o day_n in_o a_o letter_n to_o j._n p._n call_v this_o his_o undertake_n to_o burn_v their_o book_n not_o a_o word_n of_o the_o scripture_n as_o be_v in_o their_o print_a paper_n to_o take_v with_o the_o people_n a_o mad_a and_o wicked_a action_n to_o which_o the_o devil_n instigate_v and_o lead_v he_o which_o letter_n he_o order_v g._n l._n to_o get_v from_o he_o afterward_o when_o j._n p._n complain_v of_o the_o wrong_n he_o have_v in_o have_v the_o letter_n take_v away_o from_o he_o surreptitious_o g._n whithead_n reply_v that_o he_o be_v move_v of_o the_o lord_n to_o send_v it_o and_o understanding_n that_o it_o be_v not_o receive_v in_o the_o same_o love_n in_o which_o it_o be_v send_v he_o be_v also_o move_v of_o the_o lord_n to_o send_v for_o it_o again_o to_o which_o j._n pennyman_n reply_v that_o he_o have_v neither_o open_v nor_o read_v that_o letter_n nor_o know_v from_o who_o it_o come_v till_o the_o say_v g._n l._n come_n and_o
