estate_n and_o by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o same_o make_v before_o all_o other_o thing_n most_o faithful_a and_o certain_a quiet_v of_o man_n mind_n and_o remove_v the_o occasion_n of_o doubt_n and_o seditious_a language_n therefore_o they_o declare_v that_o he_o be_v the_o undoubted_a king._n whence_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o the_o reason_n of_o this_o law_n suppose_v that_o the_o subject_n in_o general_n be_v not_o capable_a of_o understand_v the_o law_n and_o custom_n upon_o which_o the_o title_n of_o our_o king_n depend_v and_o that_o the_o best_a satisfaction_n that_o the_o generality_n of_o the_o people_n can_v possible_o have_v in_o those_o high_a matter_n be_v the_o sense_n and_o judgement_n and_o determination_n of_o the_o kingdom_n by_o act_n and_o authority_n of_o parliament_n wherein_o they_o shall_v acquiesce_v for_o the_o prevent_a sedition_n so_o much_o as_o in_o language_n but_o to_o be_v short_a here_o the_o law_n allow_v a_o king_n de_fw-fr facto_fw-la the_o name_n and_o dignity_n and_o authority_n and_o defence_n of_o a_o king_n and_o do_v it_o not_o require_v our_o duty_n according_a to_o law_n be_v it_o ever_o know_v the_o king_n be_v acknowledge_v to_o have_v the_o actual_a government_n that_o the_o subject_n be_v excuse_v from_o allegiance_n or_o a_o oath_n of_o fidelity_n as_o occasion_n require_v it_o yea_o if_o obedience_n according_a to_o law_n be_v acknowledge_v due_a to_o the_o present_a government_n as_o it_o now_o it_o seem_v be_v general_o grant_v be_v not_o the_o oath_n of_o allegiance_n at_o this_o time_n require_v by_o law_n as_o well_o as_o by_o the_o relation_n of_o subject_n and_o so_o make_v a_o plain_a part_n of_o our_o obedience_n according_a to_o law_n yet_o if_o the_o king_n in_o possession_n be_v real_o our_o king_n do_v not_o our_o own_o law_n return_v upon_o we_o require_v loyalty_n and_o fealty_n forbid_v sedition_n and_o scandalum_fw-la magnatum_fw-la and_o all_o endeavour_n to_o alter_v the_o government_n that_o be_v at_o least_o by_o our_o peaceable_a and_o dutiful_a carriage_n to_o acquiesce_v in_o the_o work_n of_o divine_a providence_n in_o our_o late_a revolution_n and_o the_o acknowledgement_n of_o our_o subjection_n due_a to_o william_n and_o mary_n who_o as_o we_o have_v hear_v by_o the_o law_n of_o the_o land_n heretofore_o make_v be_v our_o undoubted_a king_n and_o queen_n because_o in_o possession_n of_o the_o government_n their_o right_n also_o be_v unquestionable_a by_o private_a subject_n be_v a_o point_n determine_v according_a to_o the_o ancient_a law_n and_o laudable_a custom_n of_o this_o realm_n and_o their_o right_n as_o well_o as_o possession_n open_o declare_v by_o the_o high_a authority_n of_o the_o kingdom_n in_o act_n of_o the_o present_a parliament_n object_n but_o some_o be_v apt_a to_o say_v this_o be_v to_o prove_v that_o the_o sun_n shine_v who_o deny_v that_o the_o present_a king_n and_o queen_n be_v such_o de_fw-fr facto_fw-la or_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o obey_v they_o sol._n 1._o this_o be_v so_o far_o well_o but_o do_v we_o obey_v they_o without_o reserve_v for_o the_o late_a king_n do_v we_o acknowledge_v that_o the_o law_n of_o the_o land_n oblige_v we_o to_o give_v they_o our_o obedience_n or_o do_v we_o mean_v only_o that_o they_o have_v the_o name_n of_o sovereign_n and_o a_o power_n in_o their_o hand_n to_o defend_v themselves_o against_o and_o to_o punish_v disturber_n of_o their_o possession_n if_o it_o be_v so_o we_o do_v not_o take_v right_a measure_n of_o their_o authority_n or_o of_o our_o own_o duty_n according_a to_o law._n 2._o for_o they_o be_v real_o king_n and_o queen_n by_o be_v in_o possession_n and_o invest_v by_o the_o law_n with_o regal_a authority_n as_o well_o as_o power_n otherwise_o they_o can_v not_o be_v within_o the_o purview_n of_o the_o statute_n of_o treason_n 3._o consequent_o all_o their_o action_n that_o be_v politic_a and_o for_o the_o matter_n agreeable_a to_o law_n be_v as_o valid_a and_o of_o as_o good_a authority_n as_o the_o act_n of_o the_o most_o rightful_a king_n they_o have_v authority_n and_o do_v effectual_o execute_v and_o make_v law_n while_o they_o be_v in_o possession_n as_o they_o do_v protect_v we_o so_o they_o administer_v justice_n dispose_v of_o office_n coin_n money_n make_v peace_n and_o war_n punish_v all_o kind_n of_o offence_n as_o well_o against_o the_o subject_n as_o the_o government_n 4._o and_o such_o act_n of_o a_o king_n de_fw-fr facto_fw-la only_o without_o right_n as_o concern_v and_o have_v influence_n upon_o the_o kingdom_n have_v ever_o be_v allow_v and_o repute_v good_a and_o valid_a though_o the_o title_n to_o the_o crown_n have_v be_v question_v and_o deny_v in_o after-age_n as_o we_o note_v before_o 5._o that_o very_a parliament_n that_o condemn_v the_o usurpation_n of_o 386._o hen._n 4_o 5_o 6._o and_o all_o act_n that_o have_v entail_v the_o crown_n contrary_a to_o the_o course_n of_o inheritance_n yet_o add_v these_o remarkable_a word_n howbeit_o that_o all_o other_o act_n and_o ordinance_n make_v in_o the_o say_a parliament_n since_o be_v good_a and_o sufficient_a against_o all_o other_o person_n i_o will_v infer_v hence_o that_o obedience_n be_v due_a to_o the_o present_a king_n etc._n etc._n in_o his_o authority_n by_o law_n acknowledge_v as_o well_o as_o power_n and_o therefore_o not_o only_o for_o wrath_n but_o for_o conscience_n sake_n conscience_n i_o say_v not_o of_o their_o title_n but_o of_o their_o authority_n and_o our_o own_o plain_a duty_n
