though_o he_o confess_v that_o self-contradicition_a be_v once_o evidence_v against_o he_o all_o his_o authority_n and_o credit_n be_v worth_a nothing_o and_o consequent_o he_o be_v not_o to_o be_v believe_v or_o credit_v in_o any_o thing_n he_o quote_v or_o allege_v and_o all_o his_o argument_n which_o depend_v upon_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o quotation_n be_v not_o to_o be_v value_v nay_o neither_o be_v one_o bind_v to_o make_v enquiry_n whether_o his_o quotation_n be_v true_a or_o not_o for_o who_o be_v bind_v to_o make_v inquiry_n into_o the_o truth_n of_o what_o a_o madman_n or_o one_o that_o have_v forfeit_v all_o his_o credit_n do_v say_v or_o allege_v yet_o after_o all_o this_o he_o affirm_v and_o vapour_n in_o almost_o every_o leaf_n of_o this_o first_o part_n that_o his_o argument_n especial_o such_o as_o do_v not_o depend_v upon_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o allegation_n and_o how_o few_o have_v he_o of_o such_o argument_n remain_v firm_a solid_a and_o unanswered_a now_o to_o disabuse_v the_o doctor_n and_o his_o partisan_n in_o this_o point_n i_o shall_v demonstrate_v that_o in_o the_o present_a supposition_n viz._n that_o he_o contradict_v himself_o in_o the_o way_n i_o insist_v upon_o by_o lay_v to_o our_o charge_n the_o above_o mention_v crime_n not_o only_o all_o the_o aforesaid_a aspersion_n but_o also_o all_o the_o argument_n which_o he_o produce_v or_o can_v produce_v either_o from_o authority_n or_o reason_n in_o proof_n of_o they_o be_v void_a and_o of_o no_o force_n and_o to_o this_o purpose_n i_o set_v down_o these_o follow_a principle_n which_o though_o appertain_v only_o to_o logic_n this_o dr._n of_o divinity_n seem_v to_o be_v ignorant_a of_o 1._o when_o two_o proposition_n contradict_v one_o another_o both_o can_v be_v true_a but_o either_o the_o one_o or_o the_o other_o must_v needs_o be_v false_a this_o be_v a_o manifest_a principle_n of_o natural_a logic_n wherefore_o if_o these_o two_o proposition_n the_o roman_a church_n be_v a_o true_a church_n the_o roman_a church_n be_v a_o idolatrous_a church_n do_v contradict_v one_o another_o as_o now_o we_o suppose_v
