import_v among_o many_o other_o vanity_n and_o superfluity_n which_o come_v from_o beyond_o the_o sea_n then_o permit_v to_o be_v plant_v here_o within_o this_o realm_n thereby_o to_o abuse_v and_o misimploy_v the_o soil_n of_o this_o fruitful_a kingdom_n do_v by_o our_o proclamation_n date_v the_o thirty_o day_n of_o december_n now_o last_v pass_v strait_o charge_n and_o command_v all_o and_o and_o engross_v the_o say_a commodity_n upon_o unmerchantlike_a condition_n do_v transport_v much_o gold_n bullion_n and_o coin_n out_o of_o our_o kingdom_n and_o do_v barter_n and_o vent_v the_o staple_n commodity_n of_o our_o realm_n at_o under-values_a to_o the_o intent_n to_o buy_v tobacco_n to_o the_o discredit_n of_o our_o native_a merchandize_n and_o extreme_a enhanse_a of_o the_o rate_n and_o price_n of_o tobacco_n and_o the_o great_a disturbance_n and_o decay_n of_o the_o trade_n of_o the_o orderly_a and_o good_a merchant_n we_o take_v the_o premise_n into_o our_o princely_a consideration_n and_o be_v desirous_a to_o put_v a_o remedy_n to_o the_o say_a inconvenience_n which_o we_o have_v long_o endeavour_v though_o with_o less_o effect_n than_o we_o expect_v have_v resolve_v to_o make_v some_o further_a redress_n by_o restrain_v the_o disorder_a traffic_n in_o that_o commodity_n and_o reduce_v it_o into_o the_o hand_n of_o able_a person_n that_o may_v manage_v to_o the_o tenor_n thereof_o upon_o the_o penalty_n therein_o contain_v but_o also_o that_o no_o person_n or_o person_n whatsoever_o englishman_n denizen_n or_o stranger_n other_o than_o such_o as_o shall_v be_v authorize_v and_o appoint_v thereunto_o by_o letter_n patent_n under_o our_o great_a seal_n of_o england_n do_v import_n or_o cause_n to_o be_v import_v into_o this_o our_o realm_n of_o our_o court_n of_o starrechamber_n may_v be_v inflict_v upon_o the_o offender_n for_o contempt_n of_o this_o our_o royal_a command_n and_o likewise_o that_o no_o master_n merchant_z or_o purser_n of_o any_o ship_n or_o other_o uessell_n do_v at_o any_o time_n or_o time_n after_o the_o say_v ten_o day_n of_o july_n presume_v or_o attempt_v to_o take_v into_o their_o ship_n to_o be_v import_v into_o say_a officer_n which_o shall_v be_v find_v negligent_a remiss_a or_o corrupt_a therein_o shall_v lose_v his_o place_n and_o entertainment_n and_o undergo_v such_o pain_n and_o penalty_n as_o by_o lawful_a and_o convenient_a time_n and_o there_o search_v discover_v and_o find_v out_o any_o tobacco_n import_v utter_v sell_v or_o vent_v not_o mark_v or_o seal_v as_o aforesaid_a contrary_a to_o the_o true_a meaning_n hereof_o and_o all_o such_o tobacco_n so_o find_v to_o seize_v take_v away_o and_o dispose_v of_o and_o the_o owner_n thereof_o or_o in_o who_o custody_n the_o same_o shall_v be_v find_v to_o inform_v and_o complain_v of_o to_o the_o end_n they_o may_v receive_v punishment_n according_a to_o our_o pleasure_n before_o herein_o declare_v and_o further_o we_o do_v by_o these_o present_n will_v and_o require_v all_o and_o singular_a mayor_n sheriff_n justice_n of_o peace_n bailiff_n constable_n headboroughe_n customer_n comptroller_n searcher_n waiter_n and_o all_o of_o this_o our_o proclamation_n and_o also_o aid_v and_o assist_v unto_o such_o person_n and_o person_n and_o his_o and_o their_o deputy_n and_o assign_n as_o we_o shall_v so_o as_o aforesaid_a authorize_v and_o appoint_v to_o import_v tobacco_n aswell_o in_o any_o search_n for_o discovery_n of_o any_o act_n or_o act_n to_o be_v perform_v contrary_a to_o the_o intent_n of_o these_o present_n as_o otherwise_o in_o the_o do_n or_o execute_v of_o any_o matter_n or_o thing_n forth_o accomplishment_n of_o this_o our_o royal_a command_n and_o last_o our_o will_n and_o pleasure_n be_v and_o we_o
