always_o that_o if_o any_o person_n or_o person_n chargeable_a to_o this_o relief_n of_o payment_n for_o his_o good_n shall_v happen_v at_o any_o time_n during_o the_o say_v three_o year_n to_o be_v set_v or_o present_v in_o two_o or_o mo_z place_n than_o one_o and_o the_o same_o be_v certify_v into_o the_o king_n court_n of_o exchequier_n that_o then_o the_o party_n or_o party_n so_o set_v or_o present_v &_o certify_v take_v a_o corporal_a other_o before_o the_o baron_n of_o the_o king_n exchequier_v or_o before_o any_o two_o of_o they_o or_o before_o any_o person_n or_o person_n be_v they_o the_o tenor_n of_o this_o act_n to_o be_v annex_v to_o such_o commission_n direct_v under_o the_o king_n great_a seal_n of_o england_n into_o every_o county_n shire_n ride_v city_n borough_n taxation_n of_o the_o value_n of_o every_o person_n good_n and_o substance_n in_o the_o same_o shire_n or_o other_o place_n or_o to_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v then_o live_v and_o to_o such_o other_o person_n as_o the_o say_a lord_n chancellor_n and_o other_o with_o he_o before_o name_v shall_v name_v and_o appoinct_v by_o the_o which_o commission_n the_o commissioner_n shall_v have_v full_a power_n and_o authority_n to_o inquire_v by_o the_o oath_n of_o the_o person_n vicar_n or_o curate_n &_o iiii_o or_o as_o many_o honest_a person_n of_o every_o parish_n village_n and_o hamlet_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o their_o commission_n whereof_o the_o constable_n tithyngman_n or_o borsolder_n shall_v be_v one_n if_o any_o constable_n tithyngman_n or_o borsolder_n be_v dwell_v part_n of_o the_o year_n they_o be_v keep_v in_o several_a pasture_n or_o several_a marsh_n or_o in_o commons_n or_o ground_n comen_o use_v to_o be_v tyll_v as_o you_o trust_v to_o be_v save_v by_o the_o merit_n of_o christ_n passion_n and_o it_o be_v also_o ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o yearly_o during_o the_o say_v three_o year_n on_o the_o tuesdaye_n after_o the_o feast_n of_o the_o nativity_n of_o saint_n john_n baptist_n there_o shall_v
be_v a_o general_a survey_n make_v of_o all_o and_o singular_a sheep_n in_o every_o parish_n village_n and_o other_o place_n within_o this_o realm_n the_o isle_n of_o wight_n &_o other_o the_o king_n dominion_n chargeable_a to_o the_o payment_n of_o this_o relief_n of_o sheep_n by_o such_o person_n as_o shall_v be_v appoint_v &_o swear_v to_o do_v the_o same_o in_o manner_n and_o form_n before_o rehearse_v and_o that_o upon_o such_o survey_n every_o sheep_n shall_v be_v take_v for_o a_o shere_v sheep_n that_o be_v at_o the_o time_n of_o the_o survey_n of_o the_o age_n of_o one_o year_n or_o more_o albeit_o the_o same_o sheep_n be_v not_o at_o that_o time_n shear_v and_o it_o be_v further_o ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o if_o any_o parson_n to_o the_o intent_n to_o defraud_v the_o execution_n of_o this_o statute_n shall_v remove_v the_o say_a day_n of_o survey_v his_o sheep_n before_o the_o survey_n take_v from_o the_o usual_a place_n where_o they_o be_v common_o keep_v for_o the_o most_o part_n of_o the_o year_n or_o else_o shall_v cause_v they_o or_o any_o part_n of_o they_o to_o be_v convey_v to_o any_o other_o place_n whereby_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v suruay_v or_o whereby_o the_o king_n shall_v lose_v any_o part_n of_o the_o relief_n to_o he_o give_v by_o this_o statute_n that_o every_o person_n so_o offend_v shall_v forfeit_v and_o lose_v to_o the_o king_n majesty_n treble_a so_o much_o as_o he_o ought_v to_o pay_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o statute_n and_o it_o be_v also_o ordain_v &_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o if_o any_o person_n summon_v to_o appear_v before_o the_o say_a commissioner_n do_v make_v default_n have_v no_o reasonable_a excuse_n or_o appear_v shall_v refuse_v to_o take_v the_o say_a oath_n or_o take_v the_o say_a oath_n shall_v not_o diligent_o attend_v and_o endeavour_n the_o execution_n thereof_o or_o shall_v not_o appear_v and_o make_v presentment_n before_o the_o say_a commissioner_n at_o such_o time_n &_o place_n as_o he_o shall_v be_v appoint_v that_o every_o person_n so_o offend_v for_o every_o such_o default_n shall_v forfayte_v and_o lose_v to_o the_o king_n majesty_n xl_o s_o and_o it_o be_v also_o ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o thaucthoritie_n aforesaid_a that_o yearly_o during_o the_o say_v three_o year_n within_o one_o month_n next_o after_o the_o survey_n of_o sheep_n and_o the_o presentmente_n make_v by_o the_o viewer_n of_o the_o sheep_n in_o manner_n and_o form_n as_o be_v before_o declare_v the_o commissioner_n in_o every_o shire_n or_o other_o place_n shall_v all_o or_o the_o most_o part_n assemble_v themselves_o together_o and_o confer_v the_o presentmente_n make_v before_o they_o of_o the_o sheep_n with_o the_o presentmente_n before_o make_v of_o the_o value_n of_o the_o good_n &_o substance_n of_o all_o person_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o their_o commission_n and_o that_o upon_o such_o collation_n of_o the_o presentmente_n if_o it_o shall_v appear_v unto_o they_o that_o any_o person_n be_v chargeable_a by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n to_o pay_v for_o the_o polle_n of_o his_o sheep_n which_o before_o be_v not_o charge_v for_o his_o good_n or_o that_o if_o any_o person_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o their_o commission_n be_v chargeable_a to_o pay_v more_o after_o the_o rate_n of_o the_o polle_n of_o his_o sheep_n present_v before_o they_o than_o he_o be_v before_o for_o the_o value_n of_o his_o substance_n of_o his_o good_n the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o the_o more_o part_n of_o they_o as_o they_o shall_v be_v divide_v shall_v within_o one_o month_n next_o after_o such_o assemble_v by_o their_o writynge_n indent_v to_o be_v sign_v and_o seal_v by_o they_o make_v forth_o extreate_v of_o all_o &_o singular_a sum_n of_o money_n that_o any_o person_n ought_v to_o pay_v for_o the_o rate_n of_o the_o polle_fw-fr of_o his_o sheep_n not_o be_v before_o charge_v with_o his_o good_n or_o for_o the_o overplus_n that_o any_o person_n ought_v to_o pay_v for_o that_o the_o rate_n of_o the_o polle_n of_o his_o sheep_n do_v surmount_v the_o payment_n before_o make_v of_o the_o value_n of_o same_o limit_n to_o charge_v he_o with_o the_o receipt_n thereof_o of_o the_o subcollectour_n or_o subcollectour_n &_o the_o payment_n thereof_o at_o the_o king_n receipt_n and_o that_o the_o say_v subcollectour_n and_o commissioner_n shall_v not_o only_o have_v for_o their_o labour_n vi_o d._n of_o every_o pound_n come_n grow_v and_o to_o be_v pay_v to_o the_o king_n majesty_n for_o the_o relief_n of_o the_o polle_n of_o the_o sheep_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n but_o also_o that_o they_o and_o every_o of_o they_o shall_v have_v the_o like_a power_n and_o authority_n to_o gather_v and_o levy_v thesame_a and_o all_o fyne_n and_o forfayture_n come_n and_o grow_v for_o the_o execution_n and_o gather_v of_o this_o relief_n of_o the_o polle_n of_o sheep_n by_o such_o like_a way_n and_o mean_n as_o before_o in_o this_o act_n be_v limit_v &_o appoint_v for_o the_o levi_a and_o gather_v of_o the_o relief_n of_o good_n and_o that_o the_o say_v commissioner_n collector_n and_o relief_n of_o the_o good_n upon_o like_a pain_n penalty_n &_o forfeiture_n as_o be_v before_o declare_v in_o this_o act_n provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o &_o singular_a sum_n of_o money_n due_a to_o the_o king_n majesty_n of_o this_o relief_n of_o the_o polle_n of_o sheep_n shall_v be_v gather_v by_o the_o subcollectour_n or_o high_a collectour_n of_o the_o limit_n where_o the_o owner_n dwell_v and_o none_o other_o place_n and_o it_o be_v further_o ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_v commissioner_n for_o the_o survey_n of_o the_o nombre_fw-fr and_o value_n of_o the_o sheep_n shall_v yearly_o during_o thesayd_a three_o year_n make_v return_v and_o certificate_n unto_o the_o king_n exchequier_v before_o the_o x._o day_n of_o october_n aswell_o of_o the_o countâ—â—_n part_n of_o all_o and_o every_o extreate_v deliver_v by_o they_o to_o the_o high_a collector_n as_o also_o of_o all_o and_o singular_a presentmente_n make_v before_o they_o and_o of_o all_o &_o singular_a their_o procedynge_n concern_v the_o say_a commission_n and_o that_o in_o the_o end_n of_o all_o and_o every_o their_o certificats_n they_o shall_v make_v special_a remembraunce_n and_o declaration_n of_o all_o and_o singular_a person_n not_o dwell_v within_o the_o limit_n of_o their_o commission_n that_o have_v sheep_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o thesame_a commission_n where_o such_o person_n dwell_v &_o of_o what_o state_n and_o degree_n they_o be_v what_o nombre_fw-fr and_o what_o kind_n of_o sheep_n they_o be_v and_o in_o what_o ground_n for_o the_o most_o part_n of_o the_o year_n they_o be_v keep_v and_o that_o upon_o such_o return_n and_o certificate_n of_o the_o commission_n to_o be_v make_v by_o the_o commissioner_n for_o the_o survey_n of_o sheep_n be_v confer_v with_o the_o book_n of_o the_o taxation_n and_o value_n of_o the_o or_o reward_n to_o be_v pay_v therefore_o of_o every_o person_n so_o by_o they_o to_o be_v name_v to_o be_v high_a collector_n to_o be_v bind_v to_o the_o king_n in_o the_o double_a somme_fw-fr of_o the_o some_o of_o his_o collection_n and_o to_o be_v endorse_v and_o make_v upon_o such_o condition_n that_o if_o thesay_v collectour_n his_o heir_n or_o executor_n do_v true_o content_v and_o pay_v to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o king_n his_o heir_n or_o executour_n in_o his_o receipt_n of_o his_o exchequer_n before_o the_o day_n appoint_a by_o this_o act_n so_o much_o of_o thesay_v some_o of_o money_n allot_v and_o appoint_a to_o his_o collection_n as_o he_o shall_v collect_v and_o gather_v and_o content_a and_o pay_v the_o residue_n of_o his_o collection_n and_o charge_n within_o one_o month_n next_o after_o such_o time_n as_o he_o have_v gather_v and_o collect_v the_o same_o residue_n that_o then_o thesaid_a recognisaunce_n or_o obligation_n to_o be_v void_a or_o else_o to_o stand_v in_o his_o full_a strength_n and_o virtue_n which_o recognisaunce_n or_o obligation_n so_o take_v thesaid_a commissioner_n shall_v certify_v &_o deliver_v into_o the_o king_n exchequer_n with_o the_o certificate_n of_o thesay_v taxation_n and_o rate_n of_o thesay_v relief_n at_o and_o by_o the_o time_n to_o they_o prescribe_v and_o appoint_a by_o this_o act_n upon_o pein_o of_o
